A/N: So yeah, still here. I'm not sure what it is but something is stopping me writing at the moment. It's not writer's block as I've had that, and I have a strong drive TO write, but nothing comes out when I open the files. I'm trying to fix that as I have plans for this story, this site and writing in general.

I'm toying with the idea of rewriting some older stories in a sort of 'Remastering' project, I also have some other older ideas I'm wanting to update to my new style and publish here at some point too.

Also I mentioned in my note that was previously here that I am thinking of setting up a Discord server for anyone who wants to join and hang out, discuss ideas and generally form some sort of community for those interested. Anyone who likes the idea can use this link to join: discord .gg/JRhKNtDpQ7

***And more importantly I updated all the previous chapters with spelling corrections and a few other alterations for somethings I want to change further in this story. I recommend you all at least skim those chapters for the changes just so you are up to date.***

All that aside, here is the long overdue chapter 10.

Chapter 10 - Reflections

Location: Shinjuku

Time: 11:15

After introductions were made the newly acquainted Tamers returned to their homes, armed with a better understanding of how their digivices worked thanks to Henry's experiments. Rika teleported home with Lycamon in much the same way as they arrived at the park: with a yellow flash and a roll of thunder.

Given the revelations of Digimon being real, she being a Tamer to Lycamon, and that there were three other Tamers in the area, Rika decided to sit down and process all the information.

"So we're not alone then."

Lycamon, who stood beside her as a vigilant sentinel, nodded. "It would seem that way Rika. I believe that our weaknesses can be offset by their strengths, so maintaining contact with them will help us in future."

She turned her head up to look at him with a curious gaze. "Weaknesses? What weaknesses do we have?"

"Well," Lycamon began as he knelt down so his Tamer didn't have to crane her neck so far to see him, "my strengths are speed and power from my abilities, however my close combat skills are lacking. If a digimon was to get up close to me I would have a tough time fending them off. The Renamon - the one called Sypher - would fare much better at such combat. The Guilmon, the curious one, seems to be more suited to dealing high power attacks and taking more punishment than either Sypher or myself. And the Terriermon would be ideal for hit and run, interference or distraction tactics."

"And you would seem to be ideal for strategizing, Lycamon." He looked down at her in surprise. "You just analysed our potential allies' abilities and came up with a rough set of tactics should we need them. I think if we do find trouble you'd be the one we turn to."

Lycamon released a single chuckle and shook his head with signs of mirth on his muzzle. "My Alpha said similar things about me back in the pack. They always looked to me for figuring out what to do and what roles they needed to fulfill. I just seem to have this sense to size someone up and determine what they could be good for, with a moderately high success rate."

"And a modest attitude too," Rika finished, smiling up at her partner. "I'm glad you're not Veemon, I don't think I could take another day of that."

"Nor should you Rika," Lycamon added, taking a seat on the ground beside his Tamer. "Spoilt and selfish Digimon give us all a bad name, I'm relieved I got to you before he did anything really bad."

A moment of silence fell upon the duo, reflecting in what could have been before Lycamon intervened. A moment grew to a minute and then longer, thoughts shifting to what their roles were in light of recent events.

"So Henry seems like an interesting guy… Terriermon seems a little hyper for my tastes but I can see his worth…"

Guilmon looked up at Takato, who seemed to be walking home in some kind of daze. The pair had been thinking about the other Tamers they had met on the way back when he had fallen silent in contemplation, a silence Guilmon was trying to break.

"Sypher though, she looks strong. And what's up with having a name? Should I have a name?"

Still there was no response from the brown haired teen, who seemed to be looking ahead without truly seeing anything in particular.

She looked up at him again, continuing her one sided conversation. "Hmm, maybe I could be like, Blaze, or Ash-"

"Not Ash, anything but Ash."

Guilmon snapped her head up to the teen, who was still looking ahead. "He speaks. I thought you were broken."

He finally looked down to her with a sigh. "Sorry Guilmon, I'm just trying to wrap my head around all this. It was all new to me when you arrived, and now there's three more of us."

She lightly jabbed his side playfully. "It just means we're not alone Takato, we have back up."

The way she said it made Takato smile. "Well perhaps this all is for the better then, we'll have to make sure we stay in contact with them."

The duo continued their walk home, Guilmon smiling with her innocent look again.

"Do you want to see my bre-"

"No!"

Henry closed the door to his room and sighed, leaning against it until he slid down to the floor. Terriermon, after jumping onto the bed, turned to face its tamer. "Momentai Henry, this is a good thing! It means we're not alone with this, yes?"

Another sigh came before an answer. "I mean I guess? It's just a lot to take in so suddenly, yesterday I didn't even know you were real. Now there's four of us, and Tyler's Sypher is very odd."

"Odd how Henry? She seems alright to me."

"Her colours for one, her clothing is another unusual thing." Terriermon quirked its ears at the response. "Renamons are yellow and white, she is not. They have purple gauntlets only, she does not. She even lacks the markings on her thighs and her ears don't have the different colour tips."

"I haven't seen a lot of Renamons before Henry, maybe she's a different type?" The small digimon shrugged, then jumped onto its Tamer's head again.

"There are no types Terriermon, there are no variations or subspecies-"

"For someone who didn't know we were real yesterday you sure seem to know a lot about what doesn't exist, Henry." His partner's response cut the teen off.

"Maybe you're right. Maybe there's a whole lot more I don't know yet, and a whole sub species tangent in this Digital World. I guess all we can do is learn as much as we can, stay safe, and stick together."

Terriermon tapped Henry's head and slapped its ears on his shoulders. "Now you're talking like a Tamer!"

Sypher strode alongside Tyler in her cloaked form, unseen by anyone but he knew she was there. "Lycamon could be a tough adversary."

Her words, quiet enough for only him to hear, made him turn to where her voice came from. "What makes you think we'll have to fight the other Tamers?"

Her reply was swift and defensive. "I don't, I'm just saying if it comes to it."

Tyler resumed looking ahead, watching where he was going as they headed back home like the other Tamers had. They had a lot of thinking to do. However he needed to correct his partner on her latest statement. "But if you think it might happen, and think about it too much, you'll risk making it happen."

A long pause stretched between them, one of contemplation before, "Good point."

Tyler smiled, seen by her. "So Sypher, I know you might not be ready yet, but at some point I'd like to know what happened to you before I found you. In case it comes up later, I don't want it to come as a potentially nasty surprise."

"Soon Tyler, you have my word. I just, I need time."

"Lucky for you I'm patient. Just say the word and we'll talk, okay?"

She briefly touched his shoulder in gratitude, even if it did make the teen startle a little. "Okay Tyler, and thank you."

Shinjuku had a few abandoned buildings set in the industrial sectors, businesses that had shut down or moved locations to better suit their needs. One such building was seeing fresh activity, a couple of large trucks pulling up outside it.

Someone opened the large shutter doors and the two trucks were backed up against them, equipment being unloaded while others began setting it all up. With a loud click power was restored to the building, and everything was slowly powered on.

One person stood to one side, making a phone call. "Yes sir, we're just setting up now, we hope to be completely operational within a couple of days… Not yet sir, we expect that shipment to arrive within the next few hours… Copy that, I'll keep you informed."
