Disclaimers: I do not own Invader Zim
Author's Notes: So I know a few of you wanted to know how new character designs from Enter the Florpus was going to come into light in my story. Most of these Questions were about Professor Membrane who ends up with awesome "Boss" like robot arms that give him the powers of a Super Saiyan! Obviously in past invader Zim episodes the professor's real arms can be seen when the sleeves of his lab coat are pulled back just so. This means something happened between the series and that movie that caused it.
At first I was going have him actually loose them to a shark as the movie states, but that just didn't work for my story. So I went with this, hope you guys like it…who am I kidding this chapter is going to be so sad!
Thank you all for reading and please review.
(Back with Zim…)
The trip to Tak's base had been a quiet one. The teens had not dared to speak since they noticed Luna's absence, and Zim seemed lost in his own thoughts.
Dib wanted to say something, to strike up a conversation; but he wasn't sure how. He knows sooner or later he and Zim will have to face each other. Obviously there were feelings between them. Zim's conversation with the Tallest had revealed as much; but it didn't change the fact that Zim chose them over Dib. In some ways it made Dib feel worse, like his love wasn't enough for Zim.
The Voot landed some ways away from the Deelishus Weenie stand, and the reluctant allies filed out quickly.
"What's the plan?" Peg suddenly asked.
"There is a guard out front." Zim said, he was using some binocular like device to zoom in on the service window where a man was working.
"He could just be an oblivious employ." Dib reasoned. As much as he wanted to talk to Zim about them, he knew that the mission would come first as far as the Irken was concerned.
Zim, is no oblivious, he notices Dib's longing expressions, the urge to get everything between them out in the open. For he feels it too! Zim, shakes his head, forcing the notion down, they had work to do. "She'll still be watching his every move."
"Then we use that." Gaz insisted.
Zim looks up from his binoculars. "I'm listening…"
Moments later Peg is walking up to the gigantic, weenie-shaped hotdog stand and smiles as she reaches the small service window. She was nervous about going alone, but everyone agreed that Peg was the best choice. Gaz was convinced that Tak would not recognize her as the enemy since Peg had never confronted her.
Zim thought it was risky, just walking up to the stand, but after watching several other humans do it with no consequence he agreed. Meanwhile, the others would go around back and see if they could spot another way in. Hopeful Tak would be so distracted by the ruckus that Peg was about to unleash, that she wouldn't notice a break in.
"And when we get inside?" Dib had asked. "How do we stop her?
"The base should have a self-destruct." Zim revealed. "It's standard protocol."
"We can't blow that place up in the middle of the city!" Dib argued.
"Relax Dib worm." Zim assured him. "The self-destruct is to ensure nothing gets in the hands of the enemy." He explained. "That includes debris, the base will launch into space and implode in the outer atmosphere."
The humans look at him in astonishment.
"Why implode?" Peg dared to ask.
"Because this planet is fragile, a large explosion of that scale could flatten the entire city. All those resources would be wasted. "Zim explained. "I choose this town because it was rich in everything my leaders would need. Tak's not stupid, she will make her base implode to save the resources."
"So we set it to self-destruct and Tak?" Dib asked.
"It takes about 8 and a half minutes to breach Earth's Atmosphere; we'd have to defeat her and abandon the ship before it implodes." Zim reported.
"That's not a lot of time Zim." Dib pointed out.
"We'll divide and conquer." Zim assured them. "You'll find the self-destruct and I will finish Tak once and for all."
"And me?" Gaz asked.
"You're coming too." Zim answered. "The Voot has an Autopilot, I'll have it take off and follow us up."
It was a sold plan, but it wouldn't work unless Peg made a big enough scene to distract the female Irken inside.
Peg stopped as she reached the stand, which looked like a smiling weenie made of even more weenies.
"Deelishus Weenie!" The service window worker announced. He wore a weenie-hat on his head and fake wieners on his shoulders.
"Hi." Peg said.
"Uhhh, what'll it be?" The man asked her.
Peg cleared her throat and did something she had never done before in her life…cause a scene. "Are you kidding me?!" She snapped. "Are you really going to play stupid with me?" She yelled.
"Uhhh…" The service worker looks like a deer in headlights.
Perfect.
"Do you know how long I waited for you to pick me up?" Peg kept going, being as loud as possible. Already people from the street were gathering around to see where all the commotion was coming from. The large crowd was all according to plan, their bodies would hide the others from any security cameras that could be hidden around the base.
"Look little girl you got me mixed up with someone else." The service worker, Mike as his name tag read was starting to look nervous.
"Seriously Michael, I'm 18 and very youthful for my age!" Peg screamed. "We've been over this! If you're embarrassed to date a girl who looks like a preschooler, just say so!"
Gaz could no longer see her girlfriend, thanks to the growing mob, but she couldn't help the smile that fell on her lips. Soft spoken Peg had never been hotter than she was right now.
"Well that was…unexpected." Dib admitted as they began to move.
"Yes, the smaller female is most…surprising." Zim scoffed, but even he couldn't hide his amazement completely.
Which meant on some level at least their friendship was real…right? Dib wondered.
He wasn't the only one with conflicting feelings. Gaz found herself wondering just how much of it was real. She liked to think that she was a good judge of character, that no one could pull the rug out on her. No one could trick her, she didn't fall for such obvious ploys…and yet.
She was the one who introduced Keef to Dib and she had thought he was an okay guy. Weird, sure, but so was Dib. She certainly didn't think he was an obsessive, possessive psycho! And now it would appear that Gaz had fell for the same trick all over again! How could she have been so stupid? Was Miz really all a lie? One moment she thinks 'well duh of course he was.' But then she would catch Zim sneak a fleeting glace her brother's way, and for a second she would see it.
The longing, the regret, the sorrow, and then it would vanish just as quickly as it had come. Making her wonder if she had actually seen it at all.
The group bolted for their hiding spot and raced around the large weenie stand, hoping for a way in.
"There should be an entry way back here." Zim whispered, his ocular implants change to a grey color as he scans the area.
Dib pulled on some goggles he had taken out of his trench coat and looked around as well. "What am I looking for?" He asked Zim.
"A large bay door, big enough for a ship to get in with ease." Zim answers robotically. He doesn't mean to be so cold, or rather he does; it is a mission after all and there was just no room for all the touchy feely stuff that needed to be done between them.
"There!" Gaz points up just as a large opening appears out of nowhere.
"Get down!" Zim ordered as a large shipment of alien tech arrived and started entering the open hanger.
The teens obey the order without much hesitation.
"It's now or never." Gaz insisted.
Zim looks around thoughtfully, but Dib is actually the one to save the day. He aims a pump-like gun that was strapped to his waist and shoots up at the large cargo above. A wire shoots out and a plunger latches onto the cargo hold.
Gaz and Zim have seconds to grab onto Dib before he is carried away.
"Is this made out of a toilet plunger, nylon cable, and a modified air riffle?" Zim asked, his voice dripping with venom.
"Yes." Dib admitted, blushing slightly. "I was ten when I made this okay." He said defensively.
"Ten?" Zim looks somewhat impressed. "Well your design methods leave something to be desired." He teased, smiling openly now.
Dib knew he shouldn't take the bait, he shouldn't engage in any way. He should shut down completely and give this heartless Irken dirt bag the cold shoulder. But old habit apparently die hard and he couldn't resist the retort. "Well sorry if it isn't good enough, we can't all be perfect."
"You would think perfection would be easy to master for someone with a head as large as yours." Zim mused.
That was it! Dib was actually trying to aggressively kick off the Irken that was hanging on to him.
"Guys focus!" Gaz growled as she almost slipped.
Zim stifled a chuckle as they were carried into the awaiting hanger, the three instantly let go and take cover. Around them is a huge advanced area where large hovering mechanical devices can be seen carrying around strange alien parts.
"Ow, wow…this base is way bigger than yours." Dib whispered in awe.
"That's because females are known to over compensate." Zim explained. "They plan for every eventual outcome while males are more likely to think on their feet."
"What could she possibly need all of this for?" Gaz asked.
Zim looked around thoughtfully. "I recognize some mining equipment." He admitted. "And several weapons. The Tallest must be supplying her efforts."
"Why supply it if they want you to get rid of her?" Dib asked.
"She's no longer classified as defective." Zim explained casually. "So challenging my mission is her given right. Plus I made this mess, making it harder for me to clean it up is their way of punishing me."
"That's messed up Zim." Dib said. "Leaders don't do that to their people, they don't put them up against each other in death matches."
"Why does being defective matter anyway?" Gaz asked. Sure Dib had explained it to her, but it still made no sense to her.
"Because defectives are nothing but damaged goods." Tak said as she appears, in her human disguise on a hover platform.
"Tak? What!? How'd you figure us out so quickly?" Dib said quickly.
"Please while entertaining as your little friend is out front I am fully aware of everything that enters my base. Weather I see it or not." She sneered at Zim openly. "Allying with the humans the Tallest will not be please."
"Dib is under mind-controlled, aren't you Dib?" Zim lied.
"100%" Dib lied through his teeth.
"You'd actually help him cover up his own mess?" Tak hissed. "You mean nothing to him, He was using you!"
"This isn't about me and Zim, Tak!" Dib yelled. "This about me and you!" He pulled out his laser sword and pointed it at her before turning it on. "You sold out my mother, you threatened my family and we won't let you get away with it!"
"We?" Tak mused.
"WE!" Gaz growled her own weapon in hand.
"You're efforts are pointless." Tak yelled. "In a second you won't even remember having seen ANY of this!" She remarked simply.
Tak's eyes flashed that strange light…but nothing happened.
Zim smiled. "What's the matter Tak? Is your memory eraser damaged?" He teased.
Tak growled, but otherwise offered no reply.
"Look It's over, Tak!" Zim said. "The Earth is mine to devastate! And I already promised the moon to GIR."
"Really the moon?" Dib asked.
"It reminds him of a cookie." Zim whispered as if that was supposed to explain everything.
Tak suddenly burst out laughing. "Is this really the best you can do?" Tak cackled. "Instead of facing me yourself you team up with these worms? I expected better Zim I really did. I would hear stories you know, of the scourge of 9 galaxies and I must admit I envied him, but this is just sad."
Zim's eyes narrowed. "I don't need them to eliminate you." He growled. "They have other pressing matters." He reminded them.
"Oh is that the plan?" Tak asked. "You distract me while they destroy my base?" She smiled. "Clever but it won't work, because I won't let it. You won't stop me from keeping my promise to the Tallest! MIMI! Attaaaaack!"
Mimi, slid out of a nearby tube and landed right in the center of the little group. She spun around quickly and in an instant was transformed, and now holding Dib up in her enormous claw hand, lifting him off the ground. She tossed him in a disposal vent nearby.
Seeing red, Zim pounced for Tak Pak legs drawn and ready to make her bleed.
Dib scrambled to grab the outside of the vent, trying to keep himself from falling down, but it's no use. He slips down and keeps sliding and sliding…
"Dib!" Gaz screamed as Mimi pounces for her next.
The Sir Unit was on her in seconds, claws ready to slash out at her. It wasn't very often that she was caught off guard, but in that moment she felt powerless. The Sir Unit's claws just barley brushed her face when it was suddenly thrown back by…
"DIB!" Gaz was stunned. Her brother was back and the answer why was now standing beside him, blaster in hand.
"Keep your robotic trash away from my daughter you Irken scum!" Professor Membrane declared.
"Dad?" Gaz was floored. "How?"
"They've been following us." Dib said rolling his eyes. "Granddad's with Peg outside." He was still trying to catch his breath after that near scare of falling into that vent to who knows where. But then his dad showed up propelling up in his rocket boots.
"Fancy meeting you here son." He had joked openly.
"By the way, you're both grounded for skipping school." Professor Membrane said as Mimi got back to her feet.
"Dad fate of the world here." Dib argued as the three Membranes drew their weapons and prepared for the Sir Unit's next attack. They stood as one, a family ready to fight a common enemy.
"Nothing is more important than your education young man." Professor Membrane lectured.
"Guys!" Gaz yelled focus.
"Oh right sorry forgot to turn off dad mode." Professor Membrane joked, sounding like Dib. "What's the plan?"
"We need to find the base self-destruct." Dib whispered.
"You go." Gaz reasoned. "Dad and I got this tin can!"
Dib nodded and raced off to find the self-destruct switch as Mimi pounced for another attack.
(Back with Peg…)
Meanwhile, a long line of people had gathered in front of the service window of the Deelishus Weenie stand. Peg was currently still screaming her face off and some people actually wanted a hotdog.
"Geesh lady are you done yelling at your boyfriend?" A kid yelled.
"Yeah some of us are hungry." A woman cried.
Suddenly Richard walks up to the stand and grabs Peg's hand. "There you are, how many times have I told you to stop practicing your play lines on random strangers?"
"Seriously?" Someone screamed.
Recognizing Richard, Peg gave an innocent giggle. "Thank you everyone you have been a great audience. Especially you Mike." She winked at the service worker as Richard led her away.
"I can't believe you children thought you could take on two Irkens on your own." Richard was beside himself.
"She was controlling people." Peg explained when they were out of ear shot of the crowd. "We didn't know who we could trust."
"I know." Richard gives her a reassuring smile. "I just can't believe you kids managed to lead a charge, you even got that Irken to help you. I've met aliens with hundreds of years of experience who wouldn't have half the bravery that you kids showed today."
Peg smiled. "Thanks who else is here?"
"Dibson should be inside now." Richard said, referring Professor Membrane by his first name. "And Annabel…"
"Is right here." Annabel said appearing with Luna.
"Where's Zim?" Luna asked Peg hopefully.
"Inside." Peg answered.
"You'll get your chance to speak with him later." Annabel assured her. "Right now these people are in danger." She advised.
Luna knew she was right. When the bases is set for self-destruct it will blast itself off into space. These innocent humans could be hit by fallen weenie stand debris, burned by the rocket engines, or unwillingly carried off into space. They had to get them as far away as possible…but how?
"I got this." Annabel said pulling out a badge of some sort. "Everyone please disburse." She ordered.
"What! We've been waiting forever to get food!" A man screamed.
"This Weenie stand is under investigation for several health code violations." She revealed. She then looked to Mike. "Sir are you aware that costumers have been admitted to the ER hours after eating at this establishment?"
The crowd cleared away in a matter of seconds.
"Look…lady….I just work here." Mike stammered.
"I know, you can go home early." She told him sweetly. "Trust me your boss won't mind."
"Cool." Mike instantly perked up. "Man you had me scared for a second there." He said leaving.
"Now what?" Luna asked as they watched the man go.
"We block off the area and report in." Richard said taking charge, "Hopefully whatever control she had over everyone is temporary and no longer in effect."
The others nodded and began to court off the area with traffic cones they found in the back.
Peg looks up at the massive base before them and wonders what's going on inside. She hopes the others are okay.
Unfortunately, they were far from it!
(Back with Zim…)
Zim lunged for Tak and growled as she dodged him with ease.
"Give it up Zim." Tak mused. "I've won, I have the bigger base, I'm well hidden among the enemy; you lost!"
"Are you mad?!" Zim screamed. "The enemy are in your base before you can even get your plan fully off the ground. Dib saw through your innocent school girl ploy with ease, and with continued exposure the members of the Swollen Eyeball under your influence will soon come to their senses." He lectured. "Admit it Tak you rushed it, you should have waited, hid in the shadows for a few months, maybe even a year. But no! You always throw yourself into every situation without thinking first."
"Stop lecturing me!" Tak screamed. She hated him, and hated even more that he was saying things that instructors had been preaching to her for years. Where did some defective get off thinking he could tell her what to do? "You're a mistake! You shouldn't even exist!"
Zim pounces at her words, even if it was true; she had no right to decide whether he deserved to live. The brains had allowed him to exist even after scanning him countless of times. Every trail he ever faced before every mission was endured with his PAK hooked up to a control brain.
They had to know he was defective, sure he could hide it now, but when he was just brought into existence? Surely Lineage knew what he really was, but did she send him to death?
No, she had allowed him to live, and more than that she had allowed him to thrive. By coding him as an invader she gave him his greatest chance of survival. As an invader he spent most of his time pretending to be the enemy.
It was the perfect cover.
Against the odds Zim was allowed to live and thrive, he had to believe there was a reason. He wasn't sure what that reason was, and for years he strived to be the best. To prove that defectives could still be a use to the Empire; that they didn't have to die, but now he wasn't so sure. Maybe Dib was right, leaders shouldn't force you to walk all over your fellow Irkens just to get a little higher on the social ladder. Leaders shouldn't sentence people to death for being different, and Zim shouldn't break his back trying to please someone who would never be satisfied. He shouldn't have to kiss up to people who would never know the real him.
Not when there was people here who cared about him, even after he betrayed them and played with their emotions. The Swollen Eyeball cave him a chance to leave in peace, because they cared for him; even after they found out he was Irken. Lar Nard still pleaded with him even after he stabbed him in the back on Vort. And Dib…Dib still looked at him with all the wonder in the cosmos. He still loved him, even though he was a green freak from another world…Dib didn't care.
He loved him…despite his lies, despite his flaws, and Zim traded it for people who would never accept him.
Zim shook his head he thought he had silenced all his doubts with Lar Nard and what happened on Vort, but now he wasn't sure of anything anymore.
If he still had his programing it would tell him to scrap the mission completely. Fake his death and go dark until the heat died down. It was a tempting idea, and perhaps after Tak was out of the way, he would do so.
Still, the urge to clear the air with Dib made him hesitate, but how could he explain? He loved his people, and he was loyal to them above all, despite their flaws. How could they all expect him to just kick them to the curb? Part of him felt that unwavering loyalty, the other half hated them, for what they've done, what they forced him to do just to survive this cruel world.
Maybe they all deserve to die, surely their crimes were too great to just forgive. Even by some miracle that Irk changed their ways could their victims let the past go?
No, countless lives and homes lost; someone had to pay, and Zim was inclined to agree.
Tak strikes once more her anger had boiled over, blinding her to the obvious. Membrane and his daughter are keeping Mimi at bay as Dib frantically looks for the self-destruct button. The plan that she pointed out from the beginning was actually working, but not for long. Mimi's opponents were beginning to tire. Mimi gains the upper hand, side steps her two distractions and goes for Dib.
Meanwhile Dib has been running around the base like a chicken with his head cut off. As silly as it is he's just now realizing he has no idea what the self-destruct would even look like. "Oh come on!" He screamed. "Did I honestly think there would be a sign with a switch that said…?" He stops as he sees it. "Hey look as switch with a sign: DO NOT PULL THIS LEVER" He shrugs. 'Sure why not.' And reaches for it.
Mimi pounces, claws like blades ready to slice him up.
"Son!" Membrane propels forward with the aid of his rocket boots and dives in between Dib and Mimi!
Dib pulls the switch as Mimi's blades come down, slicing through Membrane!
"Self-Destruct Activated." The Base Control brain's voice rang out around them drowning out Gaz's scream. "Base implosion imminent."
"Dad!" Gaz's drops her lazar sword, falling to her knees as shock takes over.
"Guys we did it!" Dib exclaimed, unaware of the horror that has taken place right behind him. He turns ready to continue with the plan, and froze.
Mimi is getting to her feet, and one the ground before her is the fallen Professor Membrane. His arms have been mangled beyond recognition by the Sir Unit's blade like claws, blood pools around him. It's only then that Dib realizes his father is screaming but it's not in pain.
He's screaming at Dib, saying something, but the words…he can't hear them, it's like the whole world has muted around him.
He tries to focus, to process the scene around him, finally he makes out the words.
"Dib, RUN!"
Mimi charges, but Dib is frozen to the ground.
Tak smiles at the scene before her. "Say goodbye to you little boyfriend Zim."
Zim turns just in time to see that he's helpless to stop the attack, lucky for Dib his guardian angel leaped into action.
Gir comes out of nowhere, Gaz's dropped sword in his grasp, and takes out the enemy Sir Unit and one clear strike.
Mimi falls to the ground split in two.
"No one messes with Mary!" Gir screamed letting out a deranged war cry.
"MIMI!" Tak screams.
Suddenly the base begins to shake as the rocket boosters are activated and it begins to propel towards space.
"Dad!" Dib falls to his side. "Dad I'm sorry."
"Not your fault son." Membrane assured him, the pain he was feeling must be immense, but he didn't show it.
Dib's face grew dark as he realized his father was right. This wasn't his fault, no he knew who was to blame. He looked up eyes meeting with Tak. "YOU! YOU Did this!"
But Tak is already running for her ship.
"Oh no you're not getting away with this!" Dib screamed, he's about to charge, but Gaz's stops him.
"Dib, Dad needs us now!" She cried.
It's her tears that snap him out of his rage, Gaz hadn't cried since mom disappeared. She was always the strong one, but right now she needed Dib to be strong.
And yet, it's not Dib that makes the first move.
"Gir help the humans!" Zim screams over his shoulder as his own Voot Zooms into the base, crashing through a nearby wall. He hops in and races after Tak who has already took off.
"Yes my Lord!" Gir scoops Professor Membrane up and looks to Gir and Dib. "Hand on to me were going flying!" He squealed.
The siblings have just enough time to grab on before the Sir Unit takes off.
They reach the ground in seconds and Dib can see that his mother, and grandfather are outside with what appears to be an army.
It's their fellow Swollen Eyeball Agents, including Dark Booty and Mrs. Bitters! Whatever hold Tak had on them; it was gone now. Luna and Peg are with them and Gaz is happy to see that they are both okay, but the relief is shortly lived.
"Dibson!" Annabel screams as she comes running to them as they touched down. "Get away from him you monster." She pushes Gir away and he is knocked several feet away.
Agents point their weapons at him, ready to fire.
"No Stop!" Dib yelled. "He's helping stop!"
Everyone freezes as Gir gets up and walks over to Annabel slowly, eyes blood red. His defensive mode has been activated by her violent shove.
"Scanning for nearby threats." The Sir Unit speaks robotically, all his weapons are drawn; ready to end the enemy.
"Point your weapons down now!" Lar Nard orders, and everyone obeys.
"No threat detected…continuing pervious objective." Gir puts his weapons away and kneels down beside Annabel. "I can stop the bleeding." He said. "But he needs surgery."
Richard pulls out a phone. "I need an ambulance in the middle of Main Street NOW!" He ordered.
Gir injects Membrane with a sedative and morphine before he begins the process of cartelizing the wounds. It's really bad, and Annabel can already tell that his arms are most likely already gone. Removing what's left of them might be the only thing that saves him.
Gir finishes his work and steps back. "I must go help my master now." He said as the sound of a siren is heard in the distance. The balance is coming fast, but the Sir Unit pauses, as if he's waiting for them to stop him.
"Go!" Dib told him. "You go and you tell Zim not to come back until she's dead!"
Gir nods and blasts off into the air.
Moments later the ambulance arrives and they take Professor Membrane away in what seems like a blur. He's already out cold, and the drivers don't even wait for his family to board with him.
"I'll drive!" Richard yells as they move for the car.
Dib looks up at the sky, despite his fears for his father he still longs to of had his talk with Zim; he's not the only one.
"Later." Luna promised him. "He'll give us answers, I'll make sure of it."
Dib nodded as they get into the car with his family and Luna catches him up to speed with what Zim's control Brain revealed to her.
He listens, welcoming the distraction.
(Back with Zim…)
Meanwhile, outside the Earth's atmosphere, Tak's Base implodes in a brilliant light as Tak and Zim face off in their own interstellar dog fight.
They smash their ships into each other, before bouncing off each other before coming face to face.
Zim is fuming, as Tak has the nerve to smirk despite the mess she is in.
"Give up, Zim! I built this ship myself!" She bragged. "It is superior in every way."
They charge once more but this time Tak manages to crack the windshield of Zim's Voot. Tak swerved out of the way as Zim spirals out of control. Zim screams a war cry before he rights his ship once more continuing his pursuit.
He catches up blasting out her ships engines bore coming around to ram into her from the front. The force pulls her damaged ship back down towards the Earth's surface. "No! My Ship! You Defective trash!" Tak activates her escape pod hatch and launches out into space. Her escape pod legs latched onto the Voot, her eyes were like daggers. "How is it even possible?" She screamed. "You're a defective, I'm the real Invader! ME!"
Zim smiles wickedly. "I'm the scourge of Nine Galaxies Tak." He bragged. "You never stood a chance. No one takes my mission! No one!" He swore. Then he grabbed a can of Poop Cola from a nearby ship's fridge and stuck a straw in it, beginning to sip.
"This isn't over…I'll be back…Mark my-!" Zim didn't let her finish, instead he pressed a button on his ship and her pod was launched down back towards Earth. With any luck the damage done to it would cause it to burn up in the atmosphere.
However, just in case he sends an order to Keef who is still under his control. He would find her and finish off the wounded female.
Gir shows up beside the ship. "Hi Master!" He screamed. "Did I do good?" He asked as he landed on the cracked windshield.
Zim smiles. "Yes Gir…" And then frowning he asked. "How is Dib?"
"Mary is very sad, and mad." Gir answered.
"And His father?" Zim dared to pry.
"He's alive, I think he'll be fine." Gir said. "The howling ambulance took him away."
"Good." Zim seems to breathe easier. "Let's go home Gir."
"Okay!" Gir giggles. "Race you there!" He takes off and Zim launches after him.
(Back with Dib…)
His father was still in surgery, and Dib had ran to the roof of the hospital trying to escape it all. He looks up at the sky and sees what looks like a shooting star racing across the sky. And even though he's too old for such things he makes a wish.
He wishes he wasn't so powerless, that he could stop this war before more people like his dad got hurt.
His wish was answered as the shooting star crashed down to Earth, only it wasn't a star.
"TAK's Ship!" Dib exclaimed as he sees the Voot through the smoke and flames, this was it! Actual Irken tech now in his sights with no sign of Tak or Zim. Dib races down the fire escapes, pulling out his phone. "Lar Nard I need you and bring your ship!" he hung up as he reached the crater. This was it, the break they had been waiting for! With this ship, Dib would finally have the technology and knowledge to protect the Earth!
And more importantly, His family!
(Back with Tak…)
Tak groans as she limps out of her destroyed escape pod, she's bleeding heavily and now that Mimi is gone she is alone.
Or so she thinks, suddenly two glowing red eyes blare down on her.
Keef walks out of the shadows knife in hand. "Hello Tak." He chimes. "Master Zim sends his best." And then he strikes!
Tak barely has time to scream before the blade cuts into her, luckily her Pak goes into defensive mode and her Legs Slash out.
Keef falls to the ground, red robotic eyes wide open.
Tak seems to notice them for the first time. "Wait these are Irken made." She scans them with her Pak. "Code Purple." She says as her Pak finishes its scan. Suddenly a wicked smile creeps on her face. "Thank you Zim, you just gave me the key to my victory!"
