Author Note

* Well, this chapter's title was originally named "Villain Tracker", but after I done with the first rough draft of this chapter, I realized that it has nothing to do with actual tracking the villain. Ergo, I changed the title to "Speed Break", which focused entirely on Judy's break and her work on improving her experiences of using the Speed Warp effectively.

"Ah," I exhaled, opening my eyes slowly to look at the orange sky.

It was evening now. I laid on Sonic's lap while we took a break from fooling around in the park. He was the one suggested that I take break from work and my phone for the afternoon. A few seconds after I stirred on his lap, his face came into my sight, looking at me. I blinked and flexed my abdomen, getting off his lap and sitting up. I turned to get my hind-paws off the bench and dropped my legs. I hopped from the bench onto the ground then stretched my body, getting myself out of the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. My forepaws were behind my head as I turned to the hedgehog. He hopped off the bench and jointed me. I smiled as I slid my arms to my sides. In unspoken agreement we got in Speed Warp and left the park. I was still feeling down from what happened this morning, so I wasn't much focused on my travel.

"Ah," I sighed, allowing my partner to take the lead.

We made a pitstop at the small diner, but I wasn't much paying attention to the details. I only agreed to get out of Speed Warp in order to purchase our meal. After we left the diner, we went back in Speed Warp. We ate our meal with our paws from the small containers it came in. We tossed the containers into the trashcan once we finished. After a few minutes of silent walking, he patted my arm to get my attention. I figured that he got me to look up and see that we had arrived at my apartment. We got out of Speed Warp once again as we walked through the entrance.

"Good evening," I said, waving to my landlady.

After we left the lobby and reached the floor where my room was, I reached for the key to unlock the door.

"Ah," I turned to the hedgehog once the door was unlocked. I smiled, "Thank you for today. I'll plan to have more breaks like this in the future."

He nodded with a confident smile. I grabbed his scarf, yanking him closer, and kissed him with eyes closed. I let him go, turned to my room and shut the door behind me once I was inside. Despite my afternoon rest, I was still tired, so I just dropped onto my bed. I was out like a light until morning.

"Ah," I opened my eyes, finding myself laying with my back on the mattress.

For the first time in my life, this morning felt refreshed compared to my other mornings while I was in cop mode. I smiled, believing that the idea of partnering up with my Stitch as well as his sisterly friend, Tailsko, was wonderful. I got up and looked at myself, putting the plan that was in my mind on the working gears. Once I got into Speed Warp, I was at the shower with my fresh clothes prepared. Instead of taking a shower, I turned the faucet to fill up the bucket then sat in the stall. I scrubbed myself up with the bucket of soapy water. I blinked once and I was completely dried and dressed up with my fresh clothes. After a second blink, I was back in my room, watching yesterday's clothes smack onto the wall then fall onto the bed. At this point, I got out of Speed Warp to save myself from getting trapped in the freeze-frame zone.

"Hmm," I turned to the door, then opened it to leave the room.

After I locked the door, pocketed my key, and worked my way to the first floor, I gave the landlady a goodbye wave. She returned one with a smile. Once I left the apartment, Sonic popped out of nowhere and was at my side. Suddenly, we got in Speed Warp then the bridge of my nose wrinkled hard enough that my wrinkle had its own wrinkle.

"Hey, please go take a shower and be sure to get fresh undergarments. I will get your clothes washed while you are bathing," I explained, struggling to keep my face from shrinking into a black hole of wrinkles.

He took a quick sniff then nodded in agreement. We got back in my room and I turned to him, only to find his clothes hanging in the air. The bucket appeared beside the clothes. His clothes fell onto the floor then I shook my head and proceeded to collect them from the floor. I packed them into the bucket he'd left. I went through the kitchen to the laundry room. I picked up the metal washboard and a couple of rabbit-sized scrubbers. I filled up the bucket with soapy water and packed it with the scrubbers. Once I got to the corner where the clothes air dried, I stuffed all Sonic's clothes in the bucket to get them wet.

"Hmph," I grunted, watching the water splash onto the floor next to the drain.

I was pleasured that I was a farmer before I took up the cop life. That helped me a lot when I came to this kind of situation where the machines either proceeded too slow or were full. I reached to grab one of the clothes, yanked it up, and started to rub it on the metal washboard. Once I got that cloth covered in soap foam, I rinsed it with water to get most of the soap out. I flinched it up and down to get the water out of it into the bucket. I hung it on the string above me.

"Ah," I turned to the bucket and repeated each piece of clothing until I had them all washed and hung up.

I had a problem - it was to dry them. I moved the bucket and the washing accessory away. I was now stuck with trying to figure how to get the clothes dried in a fast pace. I heard the whirlwind behind me. I turned around, barely saw the blue streak moving past me. By the time I finished turn to the presence of whirlwind, the wind was all over the place, despite the fact that Sonic and I were in Speed Warp.

"Thank you for washing them up. I can take care of the drying part. So, don't worry about that, you got me?" his response was behind me.

I turned to him in a reverse way, seeing him already dressed up in the clothes I had just hung up. He managed to get all of them dry and put them on himself. I nodded and we left the clothes-washing room.

"You see... Tailsko was the one washing clothes while I dried them. I had to be prepared ahead while I respected her... lack of modesty," he explained as we left the apartment and jogged down the street.

I nodded again, "Ah, that explains why you're always few steps ahead of the culprits. I will keep that in mind whenever we do the laundry."

"That's great to know. We are here at the Snarlbuck. So, let's return our speed to normal," my partner added, seeing that we were approaching the mentioned building.

I nodded in agreement. We got out of Speed Warp, making the mammalians surrounding us start to move at a normal pace instead of standing still. All of them were looking at their phones so that would be easier for us to slip in and out of our Speed Warp quickly. We entered the building, ordered our usual, paid for them, and worked our way down to Precinct One. We got back in Speed Warp with the drinks in our paws. We jogged our way down the street, taking our time emptying the drinks. Our drinks were halfway empty when we got to Precinct One. Once we arrived at the door of my chief's office, we tossed our empty cups into the trashcan. We entered the office and shut the door behind us. Sonic patted on my back, drawing my attention to him. We nodded and we got out of the Speed Warp.

"YAAAAH!" the cape buffalo yelled at our presence, sending his body to the ceiling.

I flinched when he shouted then I looked at the blue pancake that flattened onto the ceiling like a cartoon. It slid off the ceiling, swinging in the air as it floated its way back to the unoccupied chair. I frowned at the hedgehog, who chuckled at the scene. Suddenly, Chief Bogo popped behind the desk, thudding his elbows on the desk and holding his head.

"That's second time you popped out of nowhere. So, what bring you here, Hopps and Hedgehog?" he said, straightening up and putting eyeglasses on his snout.

I felt a pat on my right shoulder. I firmed my position and responded, "I believe that we should continue looking for Robotnik. He's still a danger mammalian and has to be stopped as soon as possible."

"Ah," the buffalo sighed, thudding his large elbow on the desk and put his temple on the paw of his arm he rested. He burned a hole in my forehead as he spoke, "Until Wilde recovered from his fool stunt, you are currently off duty."

"I understand, but still... that Robotnik is unaccounted really scares me. I don't want the savage attack to happen again. Even after what Dawn Bellwether did to Zootopia a few months ago. I have Sonic here to help out in Nick's absence. And if Robotnik decides to get out of paw, I will be sure ot call you while we stay on his tail," I countered.

My boss nodded, continuing to display his stern expression, "Alright. As I commanded you yesterday; don't pull that stunt. And! Be sure to alert me even if you spot him. And only if you actually spot him! Instead of charging at him the first chance you get. I have to say this even through you're aware of your own troubles, that includes your head bandage. If I find you with a board nailed on your forehead, I will bind you to the hospital gurney and have the doctors wrap you up."

I flinched when his last sentence burst out of his snout. I nodded, straightening my posture and saluted.

"You're dismissed," Chief Bogo stated, pulling back and returning to what he was doing earlier.

Sonic and I got in Speed Warp then we turned to leave the office. We walked down the hall when my partner took the opportunity to tell me something.

"Let's get yourself comfortable getting around without... embarrassing yourself in the opening. Your dress right now is for casual wearing, not for physical training," he suggested.

I looked at my clothes then I nodded, "Yeah. And I don't think that I can use my cop uniform since I am 'off duty' right now."

"Do you have any meditation-type clothes?" he added as we approached the elevator.

I shook my head then hopped to hit the elevator button, "No really. I only had the training clothes from the Academy."

At this minute, we got out of Speed Warp to let the time proceed normally. It was to get the elevator to come to this floor and open up for us. Once it opened, we walked inside, turned around, and glanced at the floor buttons that were above our standard height. I had to hop to hit the 'F1" button. I got back to Sonic's side and crossed my arms as the elevator whirred for a few seconds.

"Stitch... how can I word this..." I started a new conversation, hesitating as the elevator doors closed. I turned my head to him, finishing my sentence, "Will you please help me get a grip on my speeds?"

He nodded, crossing his arms as well, "First, you have to befriend with your instinct since it's the driver of your Speed Warp. Or in your case, your instinct is the knowledge from your cop life, but it controls your speed."

The elevator started to move down as I nodded in understanding. I moved my right paw to my chin and tapped my index digit there. My mind started to form several ways to get my conscious to control the speed. As Sonic said, my instinct could handle the power of Speed Warp and the controller of the fuel for it. All I needed was to have my mind prepared to put it to use on the outside. I had to create a table that set the timing for me to enter and exit Speed Warp, but as Sonic claimed, that requires basic training to grasp it right. I couldn't just magically run around in Speed Warp as I had my limits, like my stamina and paralysis in the time zone. I grimaced as I recalled that I covered Speed Warp in the matter of a day compared to a month that Tailsko had taken to wrap her part. The elevator rocked a little bit when we reached the first floor and the doors opened. I sensed something and I got in Speed Warp with Sonic. We walked out of the elevator. I moved my right paw from my chin and rested it under my left elbow.

I glanced at Sonic as he paced up with me through the freeze-framed hall then I spoke, "All I need to do is to feel the speed, right?"

"Yep," he nodded.

I grimaced again, "Let's get out of here and go to grab my training clothes, then we can get to the training."

"Let's," my partner replied as we jogged out of the precinct.

Once I got in my room in th apartment, I dug out my suitcase to find my training clothes. I changed into them quickly, finding I still fit in them, and left the room. When Sonic glanced at me, I gave him a great gesture as we left the apartment once again. We got back to the park since there were fewer mammalians to collide with.

"Better to spare some energy this time around. Can't afford to have you back in the hospital a second day in row," the hedgehog reminded.

I nodded in agreement. I allowed my instinct to manage the fuel of my speed strength. We started running around the park. That allowed me to grasp how the things went slow around me. I was reminded that Speed Warp had a great effect on my momentum. Suddenly, I got a little bit of wobbly in my head and my sight turned blurry. I tripped over a faulty concrete block and I hit my forehead on something hard. That brought my speed to the stop, literally. I collapsed onto the ground and started to groan as the pain splashed through me. I felt a paw on each of my bicep and my body was lifting from the ground. Someone carried me on the shoulder then I was put on something higher than the shoulder. I peeked through the slightly open part of my eyelids and saw that Sonic was the one tending my sitting position.

"Uhh," I groaned, putting my right paw on my forehead. He disappeared from sight just before I closed my eyes. I propped my elbows on my knees, mumbling, "Ok, I am on a break now."

I lifted my head and dropped my right paw from my forehead. I furrowed my eyebrows as the wind whirled beside me. I glanced at my partner, who had a drink in one paw and a bag of ice in another. I reached to take the bag of ice and press it on my forehead where it hurt the most. He walked to my side opposite the bag of ice and sat next to me. He brought the drink to me, close enough for my mouth to reach the straw. I slurped my drink, soothing my raw throat. Once I was satisfied with relieving my throat, I opened my mouth and pulled my head back from it. I glared at Sonic.

"Hey, hey... it's alright. I got my head bumped the first time I discovered and was learning to use Speed Warp. Oh, by the way, you crashed into the lamppost," he said, trying to settle my frustration. He laid his free paw on my shoulder, grinning, "I tripped and crashed into it on my first mistake. You're not alone."

I sighed, feeling the frustration drain from me. I glanced away from him and closed my eyes. Following his words, I tried to get a grip on the pain in my head, which lessened with the help of the bag of ice pressing on my forehead. I slowly moved the bag away from my forehead, not wanting to overwhelm my head with the cold. I glanced at him as he rejoined me on the concrete, having put away the drink that I had sucked a little bit. I pawed him the bag of ice and he pocketed it.

"So, what's the next lesson should I cover?" I inquired once his attention was set on me.

He stretched his paw to me and I grabbed it. He pulled me off the bench as he spoke, "Let's see how strong your legs are. Would you like to do some roof hops?"

"Sure thing. Please take me to the roof," I responded, moving my left paw from his paw to the nape of his neck. I wrapped my left arm around his neck.

I felt his right arm slightly bump my back then slide into the proper body holding position. I hauled my hind-paws into the air, and he moved his left arm under my knees, catching the back of my knees. Five seconds later, we were on the roof and I hopped off his arms. I turned to him.

"You can go ahead and take the lead. I can do the chasing," I said, encouraging him to get started.

The reason I said that was because I put my efforts on chasing after the culprits on my hind-paws, included when I chased Wesselton over McHorn's cruiser and through Little Rodentia. Sonic nodded then started to dash in my twelve-o'clock direction. I got in Speed Warp and started to run after him once he stopped being a blurry hedgehog. He jumped over the gap between the buildings and I followed suit. I studied his way of landing on the roof and I mimicked his way of making a soft landing. My partner immediately turned to my left and dashed to the edge, making another jump over the gap.

"Argh," I grunted as i led to my left and got my right leg thrusting forward, working to get my momentum in his direction.

I felt the weight pulling to where my right leg was positioned. Suddenly, the weight centered below me, I resumed running and went toward the edge where he had jumped off. Once I reached the edge, I sprang and soared over the gap between the building again. I bounced on the roof as he slowed down to look over his shoulder. He smiled and gave me a great gesture.

"Hmm," I nodded, echoing the gesture to him.

Sonic turned and dashed to the upper-right corner. I frowned as I recognized that the corner was pointing at the intersection. When he was halfway to the corner, he suddenly rolled on his head spike, sending sparks behind him as he continued to the corner. However, after he started that method, he was done with it. He burst forward and bounced off the roof, soaring to the roof of the building on the other side of the intersection. I practically lost my bottom jaw when I watched him flying. However, I was still jogging with my mind in the hyperactive state that made anything surrounding me and Sonic appear to be slow down. I was bouncing on my hind-paws. I figured that he challenged me to do this...

After I weighed the decision between doing it or not doing it, I sighed as I settled on doing it with one word; "Ah."

I ran to the edge of the roof, but not attempted to jump. I made a wide circle on the roof to get an extra boost. It was part of the cop training that I discovered back in the academy. Once I was at the corner that was set opposing the one Sonic jumped off, I turned to the latter corner and dashed with all my might. I practically felt my weight leaving me as I approached the corner then I sprang from the roof as hard as I could. It was as if I was preparing for the long jump event at the Olympics, but it was from the building instead. I flew above the middle of the intersection with lot of wind coming over me. I looked at the road halfway to another building. I reversed my attention back to the approaching building. My cop instinct kicked in and my hind-paws swung into front of me, pointing at the building, and ready to bend once I landed. My hind-paws slammed onto the concrete, following with my left shoulder as I rolled sideway.

"Argh," I groaned as the impact hit me hard.

However, I was surprised that I was still in one piece instead... of a barn that scattered all over the acres behind the farm after a bad storm. I looked up and saw that my partner held me by my shoulders.

"You came really fast, so I had to create a whirlwind to soften your fall," he explained.

I nodded, breathing slowly, then I spoke, "It's good you kept your cool when it came to the troubles."

"Yep. And you're quite an obstinate girl. Do you know that?" he replied, assisting me to get on my hind-paws.

I huffed as the weight came back to me and my head grasped the sense of gravity. I scowled, "That's who I am. If I was challenged, I must get ahead of it."

"Ah, alright. Are you still holding up fine?" Sonic asked, withdrawing his paws from my back.

I nodded, wriggling my body a little bit. I had just found a way to detach the weight from my body with the long jump that I had just made.

"Ok. Let's go down to the ground and go to the next building. C'mon," he said, jogging toward the edge of the roof.

I followed him, seeing him hop off the roof and disappear over the edge. I quickly ran to the edge and watched him sliding down a pipe. I sighed in relief, then scrutinized the building structure. Unlike my partner, I didn't have any protection for my forepaws, so I had to use different way to climb down. Aha, I found the fire escape at the end of the building on my left. I jogged to that side and hopped onto the fence. I pulled myself over the fence and landed on the fire escape floor, which made out of same material as the fence. I ran down the stairs all ways to the ground. In order to join him, I had to get off the ladder and land on my hind-paws. He jogged a few paws to my left then I started to jog after him.

"So, what is with the changed method on the building?" I inquired, expecting to get an answer.

He looked over his shoulder and grinned, "Remember all of those times I carried you up the buildings? That's the method we are using right now."

I blinked as I continued following him through few turns in the alleys. I realized that he wanted to test how high I could go with the 'upward wall-running' method. That was what he had done yesterday and day before that. However, he missed the fact that I had trouble with the building height. That's how I earned the bandage on my head in the first place.

"Hey. Please go to the building that is as tall as an elephant. I am not going to break my chief's heart trying to run up the tallest building you could find," I said, reassuring the hedgehog about the building choice.

He nodded, "Ah, alright. Safety first. Gotcha."

I continued to follow him through the alleys. My mind was building up the method to make my weight leave my body whenever I used Speed Warp. I had already memorized how it happened. It was risk, but it worth a try. I blinked as my partner stopped at the building that was as tall as a full-grown elephant. That building was the convenience store. I stopped next him then I felt him glancing at me. A breeze of wind came to my side and I saw the blue streak on the wall. Sonic was at top of the store, peeking at me.

"So here you go. That's your goal; racing up the wall to where I am. Then we can see what to do after that," he called out.

The blue streak on the wall faded into nothing while I huffed. I looked at the wall, which made out of orange-brown bricks. I got in Speed Warp; I already had my method prepared in my mind and started to run toward the wall. At that second, I figured that it was the wavelength I had to channel to exchange my weight for momentum. With the right wavelength, I was able to leave the weight in the place I chose. I felt my weight leaving me as I sprung from the ground onto the wall, put my left hind-paw forward. With my cop training, I was able to put this method in working pace; treating the wall as the floor at same time it was still the wall. With the momentum of my body still moving toward the wall, I ran up to where my partner was. Once I approached the 'top end' of the wall, I instinctively slowed down and led my head forward just to position myself back to upright.

"Ah," I exclaimed, folding my legs as my body slowly turned upright.

Since the momentum of my body was still toward the building, it worked in my favor as I floated above the edge of the roof and I got out of Speed Warp. I was at least ten rabbit paws above the roof. The weight suddenly caught up to me, pulling me down to the roof. I landed on the roof next to Sonic, instinctively bending my knees to absorb the impact then straightening my legs. He laughed, throwing his forepaws in the air.

"You got it down on your first try. So how are you holding up now?" he replied.

I nodded, propping my palms on my hip, "I think so. Let's try a building that's three stories high."

"Alright. You got it," he nodded, turning to the edge and sliding his way down again. I got down there using my own method like the first time I had to get off the building.

While I followed Sonic through the alley, I had to recalculate the amount of energy for the coming test. We came up to the three-story building: its height was three times that of the convenience store. We got in Speed Warp at this point. I stopped next to him and looked at him. He dashed onto the building and left the blue streak on the wall as he ran up the roof. Fortunately, he ran at the normal Speed Warp pace, making it easier for me to keep him in sight as he ran up. I grimaced and furrowed my eyebrows while I glanced at the roof, barely seeing his waving paw. I inhaled sharply then exhaled softer, helping me to pick up the sense of energy within myself. Once I found the correct wavelength, I ran toward the wall, feeling my weight pull out of my body. I had to approach the building a little harder than my first attempt. Since the logic of the heightening of the building - if it was taller and longer, that mean it required more momentum to throw onto the wall. I hopped and swung my hind-paws to the wall, starting to run up the building. I grunted a little bit when the momentum strained me against the wall, but it worked in my favor.

"Hmm," I exhaled, continuing my way up to the roof.

Halfway up the building, it appeared that I miscalculated the momentum. That forced me to use more energy than I realized. However, I had to believe in myself so I could reach the goal. The reason I made a miscalculation - it wasn't the energy that I wasted; it also involved the momentum I put on the building. It started to lighten up, but I could still feel the tension under my hind-paws on the wall. It started to loosen when I went past two-thirds of the way to the roof. I almost blinked as the pain in my head resurfaced - I had forgotten that I crashed into the lamppost! That pain made my hold on the wavelength wavering and the weight caught up to me. With the weight approaching to me, my body instinctively led forward as if the gravity shifted from the wall back to the planet.

"Ugh," I continued to run on the wall with my hind-paws digging on the wall.

My forepaws stretched forward to reach for the edge of the roof. Sonic saw my position changing and immediately got on his belly to reach for me. Thanks to my cop training, I was able to reach for his paw within a couple of pawsteps. I grabbed him just when I was forced to eject from Speed Warp. He grunted as the weight returned to me.

"C'mon, get up here," my partner said, slowly pulling me up.

I got hold of myself and kicked on the wall to get my body up, relieving the pain in Sonic's shoulder joint. I went two good rabbit paws above the roof in the air then I landed on my hind-paws and free forepaw. I let out a sigh of relieve that the danger had passed. I remembered that he was half of my body volume. Despite him running around with a mammalian twice his size, he couldn't able to hold a single mammalian up outside Speed Warp. I guess I need to get the habit of using the correct measure of energy, otherwise I would wear us out before we finished our day. My head started to hurt again, I dropped on my knees and pressed my free palm on my forehead. I had to keep the pain suppressed. I squeezed his paw while I worked on putting the pain aside. Once I got hold of my head, I started to relax, lifting my head from my crouching position and loosening my grip on Sonic's paw.

"Let's take a break. I think that's my limit right now," I admitted, opening my eyes to look at him.

He nodded in agreement and let my paw go. I sat down on my hind-paws and put my right paw on my lap. I remembered him telling me to control my breath; I instinctively obeyed without a second thought. I straightened my back, moved the paw from my forehead to my lap, closed my eyes, and started to breath as instructed. The pain in my forehead that I was suppressing started to fade, but it was not gone, and I felt relief in my head. I opened my eyes and saw Sonic sitting up.

"What time is it now?" I asked.

He glanced at the sky, shading his eyes with his right paw, though that didn't help much. He answered, "About 11 AM. We spent more time off the Speed Warp than on it."

We stood up and I walked to him, lifting my left arm to his neck once again. He lifted his right arm and slid it onto my back.

"Ah, guess that it's lunch time. You are permitted to carry me. I will handle the walk after lunch," I said, picking up his confusing gaze.

He changed his gaze from a confused one to the confident one and nodded in understanding. I hauled my legs to his left side, and he caught them. I hugged his neck with my arms and closed my eyes. I felt the breeze as he carried me down to the street and went for a good mile or two. Once the wind settled, I opened my eyes and hopped out of his arms. I looked up at the building; 'Hedge Green'. I glanced at Sonic and raised my eyebrow.

"Really?" I questioned his choice of the location.

He shrugged casually, "Yeah. Tailsko and I didn't have enough time to explore, considering that our main focus was on catch Robotnik."

I groaned, turning away from him and walked to the entrance of the diner. Once inside, we ordered for our meal, paid for it, and went to our seats. While we were waiting, I glanced at him.

"How can I get better with Speed Warp?" I inquired.

He pursed his lip, "Just go with whatever you are best with. Tailsko didn't follow my method of how I get around in Speed Warp. After all, she was a vixen and had to use her tails to keep up with me."

"How can you be sure about that?" I added.

He blinked, tilting his head to his left, "Remember that time you charged up to make a long jump? I only used Spin Dash to get all the boost while you had to go in a circle then jump over."

I nodded, remembering how he managed to do that - it was what it looked like when he pulled it off. The food was served to us and we started to eat.

"Also, you used an alternative way to get down the ground while I used the pipes twice," Sonic added.

I blinked, realizing what he referred to, and spoke, "I didn't have palm guards to keep my palms from being injured when I move down to the ground."

"Hmm," he nodded, chewing on his meal.

I shook my head, "I had to be creative when getting down there while wearing either my casual or training clothes. If I can't punch my opponent down, I have to kick that mammalian down."

"Ah, you kicked the rhino, who was bigger than that chief of yours, down?" the hedgehog said.

I nodded my head, finishing my meal. He finished his meal and collected the dishes. He left the table to put them away, giving me few seconds to myself. I used breath control to keep myself under wraps. I heard Sonic coming back to the table then I glanced at him as he moved within my sight. I knew that it was a sign for us to leave, so I got off the seat and walked with him. We left the diner then we glanced at each other once again. We nodded once. We started to jog down the street without getting in Speed Warp. Considering it my bre-

My thought was interrupted by my phone ringing in my sweatpants pocket, I squinted my eyes and mumbled, "Sweet Cheese and Crackers."

I reached for my cPhone and Sonic's bicep at same time. I stopped, which made him stop, as I pulled my phone out to check why it beeped. The light reflected off the touchscreen as I turned my head to Sonic with a surprise expression.
