Beth's p.o.v.
Crying, I screamed and pushed very hard with each contraction. I was desperate to get the baby out of
my body. Randall squeezed my hand. We understood that our precious little princess, Annie, was
arriving twenty eight weeks early. "Beth, please don't push too hard. Relax your muscles. I don't
want you to tear" the doctor instructed me. I took a deep breath in and relaxed my muscles. Suddenly,
Annie's heartbeat started to drop. An emergency caesarean section was performed because there was
a high risk of a brain hemorrhage.
Place: The NICU
Randall's p.o.v
Beth endured premature labor that was followed by an emergency cesarean section. Our
daughter, Annie Rebecca Pearson was quickly taken to the NICU. "She is so tiny" two year old Tess
pointed out when she saw her sister for the first time. Quite weak and fragile, Annie rested in
an incubator. She was attached to several different tubes. I wanted to hold my daughter so badly.
Upon request, Beth was given an opportunity to hold Annie. Annie opened her eyes briefly.
