Kagome felt comforted by the confidence she held in Sesshoumaru and his determination to fulfill his self-appointed role as her guide—insofar as the direction she sensed she needed to go—and guardian. Much had changed in the past few months—far too many to wish reevaluating so soon after waking—but the surety that she'd be as alive in the morning as she was when she went to sleep hadn't changed.
Though, now that she thought about it, she couldn't recall falling asleep this last time; only the rain when it began falling on the tree canopy above them.
