"Bear down, Gabby, Push harder" Antonio, a doctor and nurses instruct me. My boyfriend is unable
to attend the birth because he is fighting in a war. Who knows how long he will be overseas? He
doesn't know I am having his baby right now. God gives me strength and comfort in his absence.
The weight of the world falls on my shoulders when my son does arrive. Although I love Louie,
I can't provide for him. Besides, I want to finish medical school. My dream is to work as a
paramedic. Adoption turns out to be best option for Louie in the end. And so I thought.
Time Period: The Present Reality

Before going to the firestation, Matt cooked breakfast for Louie and me. He decided to step up
because I was still recovering from the miscarriage. I kissed and hugged Matt as a way to express
my gratitude. Secretly, I have blamed myself for losing our baby. I should've been more careful. I
am thankful for this time where I can rest and spend time with Louie.
