Dom was outside working on his charger under the food. He's been fixing it up so he can teach Cami how to drive later in the year. He's gone back and forth on if he wants to gift it to her because of it's history but he would give the world for his little girl. He's under the car when he hears footsteps coming toward him. He rolls himself out to see a huge belly in front of him.
"You're suppose to be in bed."
"You've been in here all day fixing this thing. Come and eat dinner."
He sits up and stands up in front of her. He lays his hand down on her stomach as her hands are on her hips. "How you feeling today?"
"Feeling good. I've been eating and peeing all day so I've been productive."
"Where's Cami?"
"She's in the pool."
"Has she talked today?"
"The most she wanted to talk to me about was what to watch on Netflix. Just give her time, she'll come to us when she's ready."
"Okay."
"Now can you please come eat."
"Alright mam." He takes her hand and they walk out of the garage together. He looks out at the view of the sunset and the clear view of the empty beach. "We should take a walk later. Just the two of us."
"I'd like that."
He helps her up the steps of the porch, holding her hand and his other hand pressed on the small of her back.
Two Months Ago
Dom opens the door frantically to see Letty in a hospital bed with monitors attached to her stomach. The doctor has the probe on her stomach and looking on the screen to see what was wrong.
"What happened?"
"She over strained herself. That plus her blood pressure cause her to have the pain at her side."
"It felt like I was being stabbed."
"The pain is more intense with your hormones."
"Baby I'm so sorry." Letty says as she starts to tear up.
"No you have nothing to say sorry for. I should be saying sorry." He says pushing her hair back and holding her hand.
"The babies are okay."
"Really?" She says.
"They both are healthy. Their cords are still attached and there's no placental abruption. I do recommend taking it easy for remainder of this pregnancy. This pregnancy is high risk and your uterus has been through a lot of trauma. You need to stay away from strenonous activity. That includes cars, work around the house, or heavy lifting."
"Yes doctor. We'll make sure of it." He says to her.
"I'll be back with a nurse to check on you later." She walks out the room and Letty let out her tears.
"Baby it's okay. The babies are healthy and safe."
"Dom I can't lose my babies, any of them."
"We won't. We'll leave tomorrow. Go to the DR, take Cami with us. They won't find us."
"You know they won't let us take her."
"I'll take care of it."
"How?"
"Hobbs and I are working on it. Just trust me okay. You rest, I'm gonna call Mia." He kisses her and pulls her blanket over her. He walks out the room and closes the door. He pulls out his phone and hits the speed dial. "Hobbs"
"What's going on Toretto?"
"We need to drop the bomb."
"You sure?"
"These people are trying to rip my family apart. We need to end this. Tell your guys to go ahead with the plan." He hangs up and walks back inside the room. He sits at Letty's bedside and holds her hand. "I know this doesn't change where we're at but I'm not leaving your side. I'm going to protect our family."
"Dom when I was on the ground, all I thought about was being in Mexico and Giselle bringing to the hospital. I thought me and these babies were gonna die and I never get to see you again. I know you were doing what you had to but you can't do that anymore. We're a team and a family. You ride, I ride." Whatever we do we do together."
"I promise I will never go behind your back again. I love you so much, I never want to ever hurt you."
"I love you too."
He kisses her forehead and kisses her. He leans in close to her as she rested and just held her in his arms the rest of the day.
Present Day
Cami walks in the back patio table as she wraps a shawl around her waist. She died her hair dusty blonde after they arrived in the DR. Letty and Dom walk over together and were hoping to get some words out of her today.
"Food looks good mom."
"Thank you." She says as she sits down.
"You know it's your grandpa's recipe. I taught your mom back in the day."
"You say back in the day like I'm old."
"My dad would do barbeques every Sunday after church. I taught your mom when we were in Mexico."
"No you taught me when we were in DR. Right after we got married." Cami reached for the basket of fries and put some on her plate. "Hey say grace first."
"Yes sir. Thank you god for this food, thank you for this family, thank you for keeping my brother and sister healthy and safe. Amen."
"Amen." They both say.
"So when are we going home?"
"Sweetie you know we can't go back yet." Letty says.
"It's been two months. How much longer are we gonna hide?"
"It's just to keep you safe." Dom says.
"I miss home, I miss my friends, hell I miss school."
"Baby I know you miss everybody but we have to wait this out until the feds catch Cipher." Letty says to her.
"Can I be excused to go to the bathroom?"
"Yes. You can." Dom says and she stands up and walks in the house. "I hate when she makes that face."
"Welcome to parenthood." She says drinking her water.
"Reminds me of her mother."
"I was not that dramatic."
"You were." His phone rings and he sees that Hobbs is listed. He gave him specific orders to only call them on his burner in the case of emergency or if something happened.
"Hey Hobbs."
"They found Cipher Dom. She's back in New York. We're going after her, you in brother?"
