*Louise's POV*

-One week later-

"How are you going to get me out of here?" Norman asks spitefully.
"I don't know yet, it's gonna be hard because they're keeping a closer watch on you."
"Well you were so eager for me to go along with it, I just figured you had a plan." He picks at his fingers.
"I'm sorry Norman but I'm not as bold as my sister. I take life more cautiously than she does."

Tension fills the room. He sighs, breaking the small silence.
"Norman let's just be glad you're back in your room ok? The rest will happen. I know you want to see her, and believe me that she wants to see you too. It's just gonna take time unless we get a spontaneous chance."
He flinches as I lay my hand on his shoulder sympathetically. "Norman, I promised my sister. I promise you, too."

The floor creaks under my feet as I leave his room.

*Norman's POV*

Wanting to get out of here isn't a lie. I do want to get out of here and go back to my home. Alone. My mind has already been made up that I'm going to kill Jolene. It only seems fair to myself, and Mother. Oh, how awful I've been to Mother since I met Jolene! So rude..after all, she is just a sick old lady. A sick old lady who needs her son. I'm all she has, and she's all I have.

*Louise's POV*

"Mr. James I need the day off! My son's nanny is sick and I have no one to care for him. My husband is away on business."
I stop in my tracks, noticing the cracked door to Mr. James office. I step closer, eavesdropping.
"I'm sorry Pattie, but unless you can find someone to cover for you, you'll have to work."
I hear her chair creak and bend down, acting like I dropped something.

"Oh, hi Pattie!" I stand up, smoothing down my skirt.
"Hi, Louise." She says aggrievedly.
"I happened to hear you say you need someone to cover your shift, and I would be happy to."
Her face lights up. "Oh, really? Are you sure? You have to stay a little late, and it's quite a bit of responsibility, like locking all of the doors and making sure the nurses are on task and gathering patient complaints and-"
"I'm positive." I cut her off.
She smiles, giving me a quick hug. "Thank you, oh thank you so much. You'll need to be in at 5:30 tomorrow morning. I'll let Mr. James know. Thank you, again.'' She walks back into his office.
I sigh to myself.

*Jolene's POV*

"Really? Wait that's great though! You can get him out right?"
"I'm gonna try, Jo. It may not be as easy as we hope."
"I know, I just want him home. I mean, here with me. Safe. Obviously this isnt his h- well you get what I'm saying. I worry about him being in there. I know how they are."
She nods, staying quiet for a moment.

"I think when he gets out, I'm gonna leave with Judy as soon as possible. I just don't think it would be appropriate for her to be around him. I like Norman and all, but..you know."
My face changes. "People like you are the reason he's there to begin with. Why can't anyone just treat him with decency?"
"That's not what I meant."
"It is. You don't even know what you're talking about."
"You know Jolene, do you ever think that maybe the reason he's in there is because he's killed multiple people? I don't think it's the world picking on him. He killed his mother for Christs sake! Now I understand you care about him, but I don't know why you're so obsessed with him. He's a monster, Jolene."
I stand up. "You know, maybe he had a reason to kill all of those people! Sometimes when people kill people they have a reason! You don't know what you're talking about at all, Louise. You're ignorant, just like our mother."

"Who's to say he wont kill you?"

My eyes widen. "How dare you? He would never hurt me!"
She nods, "Ok, so where did you get that scar on your arm?"
I look down at the small, but long scar that starts at my underarm and goes to my elbow. I turn my arm inward. "That's different, it was his mother."
She laughs. "Oh, his mother huh? Listen Jolene, I'm gonna help you get him out, but after that im gone and its your funeral."
I roll my eyes as I walk into the bedroom, slamming the door behind me.
