I need to tell about the first time Jun and I went out on our first mission.
This was just before Jun got The Banshee.
We used a Senate provided clunker (I mean nearly broke down before we made it to- forget fro).
We were sent to Shili to recover a probe that landed in a village.
The village believed it was a bad omen.
They weren't entirely wrong.
The probe had a bio-agent, and the villagers were getting sick.
The Shili government sent some samples of the bio-agent, and a vaccine was created.
Jun and I were dispatched, armed with the vaccine and instructions on how to properly remove the probe.
The illness had spread to more Togruta villages by the time we arrived, and fifty had died.
Jun and I burned their bodies before we set up our camp and clinical area.
Believe it or not, Jedi under Luke's "rule" quite a bit about practical medicine and the like. Jun and I knew how to properly inoculate people.
The first morning, we dug up the probe and locked it away. Jun secured it aboard while I began treating those already infected. Only a few of the patients were too far gone for the strong antibiotics to work. The rest of the Togrutas responded quite well to the treatment.
During the days, Jun and I inoculated the general population.
News of our arrival spread, and people came from all over the planet.
Jun sent word back home and they agreed to send more vaccines and a new ship.
The Senate kept their word, but it took several days, and the days were long and hot, and the nights were long and cold.
Jun and I sat next to each other in front of our fire and talked. Sometimes, we would just watch the fire, but we usually talked.
One of the nights, I asked Jun if I had ever told him about my father.
In a flash, Jun was angry and hostile and said he couldn't believe that I would lie to him about being brought up around Hutts.
"I didn't lie!"
"Then he was a slave?"
"No."
Jun growled, swore, and then turned to walk away.
"He died when I was four."
Jun stopped, turned around, walked back over, and sat back down."
"My mother died when I was born. My father was the best, Jun. He cooked, made cleaning fun, and always had a story and a hug. I loved him. He was my world."
"What happened?"
"Tatooine, Jun. He took me to the Boonta Eve race. And he was killed in an accident. We were…our speeder was hit by a drunk driver. He was thrown and killed. That's the day that sealed my fate with my hearing. After that is when I was fought over by three Hutts and Zorba won. I served him until Luke, Han, and Wedge came for me when I was six."
"Zorba did all that damage in two years?"
"Well, I wasn't that fast a learner, and made mistakes. And I occasionally got into trouble. Occasionally as in almost daily."
We sat in silence for a few minutes.
"I miss him, Jun."
Then Jun told me something I already knew.
"I was created in a tube, Asenath."
"I know."
Then, he shocked me.
"I remember the tube, Asenath."
I stayed quiet while he explained to me about what he remembered.
Then, he told me about Oayembepe, or Oa, his surrogate mother he had in the hell hole on Korriban.
When Jun told me how she died, I cried and fought the urge to vomit.
"Jun, I'm so sorry. That's beyond cruel."
"I avenged her."
"Jun…you did," I admitted after a time.
"You're agreeing with me?"
"It wasn't wrong. He would have killed you first if given the chance."
"I'm going to make things right in the galaxy."
"That's what the Jedi do."
"No. I want vengeance."
I put an arm around him.
"Revenge is-"
"Luke will say it's wrong, and to 'think and meditate' on it, but I hate this, Az. I hate not being able to take vengeance."
I didn't know what to say to him I just held him while we stared at the fire.

We were there for several weeks, but we vaccinated everyone who came for help.
The ship delivered to us better than the first, and Jun reloaded the probe on it.
The villagers came out to bid us a fond farewell, and Jun and I were sad to go.
They waved us off.
This had been satisfying work, and I was pleased, but I was looking forward to my bed and I missed everyone.
