Chapter Thirty-Three
"You did this to me," Keiji repeated, while Eva was just chuckling to herself.
"Quite the revelation, isn't it, dearie?" she said, "now tell me how that makes you feel."
"What do you mean? What did she do?"Jeanie asked visibly confused.
"She," Keiji still struggled with the anger in his voice, "she was the one who took me from the park back then. Probably delivered me to that assholes flat immediately after."
His sister took just a second to process what he said, before she leaped forward, trying to get her hands on her, but Daichi was able to catch her and hold her back, despite her best struggling efforts.
"You bitch!" she screamed, "you ruined his life! You ruined my life! You killed my mother!"
"As much as I'd love to see you take your anger out," Daichi tried to calm her down, "but we've got more pressing issues."
He grabbed hold of Jeanies chin and tilted her head upwards, so she could see the giant monstrosity towering above the group, sporting a 10000 ATK score.
"Let me go and I'll go press her issues a little," Jeanie continued to struggle.
"Daichi is right," Keiji said, "you're barely snack sized for that fucking thing. Calm down a little."
As cynical as it sounded coming from Keiji of all people, it seemed to work on Jeanie.
"Okay!" she said, visibly annoyed, "I'm calm! I'm calm."
"Now, can you get rid of that thing for us?" Daichi asked, "It's your turn still."
"Easier said than done," Jeanie started to focus back on the game, "first things first, my Revolution Airship gains 100 ATK for each card that is attached to it as material."
Battleballoon – Revolution Airship: 3500 ATK → 4800 ATK
"Close, but no cigar," Eva mocked them, after having watched them banter like they were a sideshow, "but since my beast gets 1000 ATK for every Trap card that is in the graves, that is banished or that is face-up on the field, it's still more than double the monster that yours is."
"Let's see about that," Jeanie gritted her teeth.
"Yeah but first," Eva said, "when my All-Devouring White is Ritual Summoned, and during every End Phase for that matter, I can Set as many differently named Traps from my Deck as I desire, to fill my field back up."
With those words, her Duel Disk ejected five cards, which she then placed face-down on her Duel Disk.
"This is not gonna make a difference, as you cannot activate them during this turn," Jeanie continued, "but my Revolution Airship can detach one Xyz material from itself in order to immediately destroy any card on the field of my choosing."
The airship absorbed one of its many overlay units into its underside, before readying its cannons, all aimed at the white-skinned beast.
Battleballoon – Revolution Airship: 13 materials → 12 materials
Battleballoon – Revolution Airship: 4800 ATK → 4700 ATK
"Sorry to disappoint you," Eva interrupted her, "but while I control a face-down card you can neither target nor destroy my beast."
"Then I probably shouldn't, should I?" Jeanie said, "I'll aim for one of your face-downs instead."
The airship slightly nudged its guns before it fired, blowing one of Evas cards – Billow White – to smithereens.
All-Devouring White: 10000 ATK → 11000 ATK
"And you accomplished nothing," Eva mocked Jeanie, "you expect an award, dearie?"
"I expect to do it again," Jeanie continued, "since I can use my Airships effect as long as it has Xyz materials to use as cost."
Right on cue, Revolution Airship absorbed another material and destroyed yet another Trap Card, repeating this effect four times until all of Evas Traps were gone.

All-Devouring White: 11000 ATK → 15000 ATK
"And still you accomplished nothing," Eva said, "one of the cards you destroyed was my Final Shut. And if it was destroyed during my turn, at any point I wish, I can remove it from the Graveyard to immediately end your turn."
"What? Since when did you have that?"
"It was the… third card you destroyed, I guess?," Eva feigned ignorance, "but hey, if you wanna strengthen my beast, more power to you I guess."
"Fuck," Jeanie cursed, as a flash of light forcefully ended her turn and Eva replenished her array of Trap Cards, placing five new ones on the field.
"Now, it's my turn, is it?" Eva gleefully asked, before drawing her card, "Given my beasts attack power, I can take any one of you and remove them from the game right now. But who to choose. Eeny, meeny, miny, moe..."
"You're really gonna decide with a children count-out rhyme?" Jeanie asked bewildered, "are you serious?"
"Look who volunteered," Eva snarled, "All-Devouring White, eradicate Jeanie."
The beast raised one of its claws, ready to slash the airship into slices and, as Jeanie braced herself for the impact, Daichi intervened.
"I activate my face-down card Valiant Xyz Shield!" One of his face-down cards flipped up, becoming a large, conical golden shield in front of his Xyz Monster.
All-Devouring White: 15000 ATK → 16000 ATK
"When activated, it becomes an Equip Card to one of my Xyz monsters and whenever a battle is declared, I can detach one material from my monster to make it become the new target."
The shield glowed in golden light as one of Gagagigos blue materials were absorbed into it.
Gagagigo the Risen: 2 materials → 1 materials
"How brave and silly at the same time dearie!" Eva said, "Let's just destroy you instead then."
All-Devouring White redirected its claw, ready to swing at Gagagigo.
"I'm not finished yet," Daichi exclaimed, "I activate a second Trap Card: Valiant Xyz Knuckles!" In addition to the shield, Daichis monster now acquired large brass knuckles on both its hands.
All-Devouring White: 16000 ATK → 17000 ATK
"Now," Daichi went on, "whenever my monster battles, I can detach one of its materials in order to have it gain ATK equal to the ATK of the monster it battles!"
Gagagigo absorbed one of its materials into the knuckles, which then glowed in a bright white light, as the monsters ATK skyrocketed.
Gagagigo the Risen: 1 material → 0 materials
Gagagigo the Risen: 2950 ATK → 19950 ATK
"Oh dearie," Eva said, "that's quite the punch you're packing there."
The Xyz Monster leaped upwards, ready to punch the giant claw out of the way and end the duel for good, but Eva simply pushed a button on her Duel Disk, causing another Trap Card to flip up.
"I activate Titanocider!" she said, "it will change the ATK of one monster you control to 0 and negate its effects. I mean, Gagagigo has no effects, but you get the general idea."
All three of them, Keiji, Jeanie and especially Daichi turned as pale as they could on that remark.
Gagagigo the Risen: 19950 ATK → 0 ATK
All-Devouring White: 17000 ATK → 18000 ATK
The beast waited not even one more second, after all the delays that prevented it from claiming its first victim, slamming its claw down. It struck Gagagigo and slammed it on the ground, bashing it straight onto Daichi.
Daichi: 4000 LP → 0 LP
"Daichi," Jeanie knelt down next to the giant guy, who struggled to catch his breath. It looked like he had some grazes all over and maybe a concussion, but it didn't look like he broke anything.
"I'm fine my goddess," he eventually said, "at least I kept you in the game a little longer."
"Next time you do such reckless stuff," Keiji said, also kneeling down next to him, "just don't, okay?"
"Noted."
"Now, just stay lying down. We'll handle it from here," he continued, before getting back up, "am I right to assume its my turn now?"
"Why yes, go for it," Eva said, as she replaced the Trap Card she just had used with a new one from her Deck.
"During my Standby Phase," Keiji started, "the effect of your Matter Dis-Motion finally wears off. Which means my Boltedge Nuclear Gunner finally returns to the field." The copper-wire giant returned to the same spot it was ripped out of during Keijis last turn, standing almost as tall as All-Devouring White.
Boltedge Nuclear Gunner: LIGHT / Thunder / Level 10 / 3500 ATK / 3300 DEF
"Just as barely impressive as the last time I saw it," Eva quipped, "now, what do you intend to do with it?"
"Get rid of you. Quite simple, isn't it?" Keiji snapped back, "All I need to do is banish one Thunder monster from my GY. And thanks to my sister returning my Bullet Spark from her Xyz Monster, I can fulfill that requirement just fine."
"And what do you intend to do after you banished that monster, huh?"
"Easy," he said, "it will destroy all other cards on the field."
A tiny jolt of lightning emerged from Keijis Duel Disk and sprung into Nuclear Gunner, who turned the energy from a tiny jolt into a massive orb of concentrated energy within a matter of seconds.
"As I mentioned," Eva said, watching the orb grow in size rapidly, "you cannot destroy All-Devouring while I control a Set card. Also, I activate my Trap Card Fake Trap. In case you would destroy any of my Traps, this one will destroy itself as the only card."
One of her Traps flipped up, revealing a purple imp, who held a scroll in front of itself like a shield, with the word 'false' written on it.
"My Revolution Airship," Jeanie spoke up as well, "can migrate its own destruction by detaching one Xyz Material. I think I better give you your second thunder monster back, huh."
"Would be appreciated," Keiji said, but before he could go any further, the sphere combusted, albeit with minor damage, destroying only as much as his face-down card and Force Conductor, as well as Evas Fake Trap card.
All-Devouring White: 18000 ATK → 20000 ATK
Battleballoon – Revolution Airship: 8 materials → 7 materials
Battleballoon – Revolution Airship: 4300 ATK → 4200 ATK
"What a futile effort," Eva said, seeing as her monster had only grown in power from Keijis cards.
"I'm not done yet. I activate the effect of my Bullet Spark, allowing me to return it to my hand as it has been banished to activate a monster effect. Then, I also activate the effect of my Trap Card I just destroyed: Crazy Circuit!"
"Crazy Circuit? Sounds… crazy." Eva said, trying to sound indifferent, "what does it do?"
"Effectively the same as Nuclear Gunner. It will destroy all cards on the field, with the exception of Thunder monsters."
Giving Eva no time to react, another electrical blast went off and covered the entire field. While all the three monsters on the field were once again protected, be it by their own effects or by being Thunder type, it destroyed all the remaining Trap Cards on Evas field.
All-Devouring White: 20000 ATK → 24000 ATK

Battleballoon – Revolution Airship: 4200 ATK → 4100 ATK
"Where do we go from here," Eva said curiously, "a monster that is powered by a Crosspoint should have more effects than just a field wipe, even if it sounds ridiculous."
"Of course it does. But before I do that, I will Normal Summon my Bullet Spark." A small jolt of lightning darted across the field, before settling in front of Keiji.

"Now, let's move to battle. Nuclear Gunner, attack All-Devouring White! Meltdown Gun!" The monster charged up its rifle, forming a small atom made out of electricity at its tip.
"Are you out of your mind?" Jeanie asked bewildered, but Keiji was quick to calm her.
"Nuclear Gunner will always be the strongest monster. When it battles, it's ATK will always be 1000 points higher than the ATK of the monster it battles," he said, "which means, it trumps your Devouring White."
Boltedge Nuclear Gunner: 3500 ATK → 25000 ATK
The monster immediately fired, with the impact forming a mushroom cloud crackling with electricity.
Eva: 2900 LP → 1900 LP
Except when the dust cleared, All-Devouring White was still standing there.
"As to be expected, from a Crosspoint-powered monster," she said, "I had to resort to my last straw: The effect of Ever White in my Grave allows me to negate one instance of destruction on my monster by banishing it."
She slipped the Ritual Spell Card out of her Graveyard and sighed in relief.
"This must've been the first time this game you made me nervous. Bravo dearie."
"I'm gonna make you much more than nervous. I set one card face-down, and then I end my turn," Keiji went on, "and during my End Phase, my Nuclear Gunner forces me to tribute one of my Thunder monsters to keep it on the field, so I just sacrifice Bullet Spark."
"Oh, that wasn't meant as a negative at all," Eva said as she re-stacked her field with a new array of Trap Cards, "this is the most fun I've had in decades."
"If you are in such an awfully good mood," Jeanie said, "would you mind telling us why you did… what you did? Because I still don't get it."
"Oh that," Eva explained, "I admit, it's not easy to understand. Since I suppose you know about the Crosspoints and the Convergence, so I won't go into detail about that. Thing is, however, that while the Convergence is ongoing, one would need a source of… distraction and destruction, preferably both at once. An environment in such turmoil that the wish from the convergence couldn't do anything else but bring about world peace. And at the same time, you don't really want someone interfering with what they don't understand."
"Come again, you say you were using our family as distraction?" Jeanie asked dumbfounded.
"Why yes, and it wasn't as easy as it sounds. One would think that in a city like this you'd find a man who'd want to raise a child servant around every corner, but as soon as you tell them its a boy they all chicken out. It was actually harder finding a keeper for you than actually abducting you," Eva went on, "After that, it went almost swimmingly for a while. Your father turned crazy over his lost son and your mother turned even crazier. Trouble basically started when your keeper had a stroke and you were able to get away prematurely."
"Oh, so, that wasn't according to your plan?" Keiji laughed at the cruelty of the situation.
"Oh, no, not at all dearie. You see, my original plan was to have you spearhead a revolution, after having your mind successfully broken. Too bad you, as I said, got away prematurely and escaped from my sight. Luckily, your sister had cultivated enough daddy issues over the years of your absence that it was easy to place her at the helm."
Jeanie just laughed loudly at this remark: "Story of my life, even in the plans of some crazy bitch I'm still second choice."
"Oh but you were a lovely second choice," Eva turned to her, "you played your part almost too well. The Combat Revolution. Dearie your speech was fantastic."
"I changed my mind," Jeanie said, "I wish I hadn't asked."
"You asked for my reason, and there you have it. I had this plan in the makings for a few hundred years, you can expect it to be contrived."
"Not this contrived," Daichi said, "because that's a fuckton of what-ifs and what-nots you'd have to consider."
"Oh be certain I had plans C to Z ready as well. I just got lucky that plan B worked so flawlessly."
"So we're supposed to be happy you didn't tear anymore families apart?" Keiji asked bewildered.
"Don't look at it like that dearie," Eva answered, "after this day is over, you will all thank me, for I will be the one to have brought about world peace."
"You think its that easy?"
"It's not, I just explained, and that was only the buildup for the side act," Eva replied, "it was awfully hard, and the payoff will be just as satisfying. But I think we should carry on now."
Eva drew her card as she started her turn, but Keiji immediately interrupted her: "During your Standby Phase, I activate my Trap Card Thunder of Ruler! This one will force you to skip your Battle Phase this turn!"
Thunder rumbled around the Duelists as Keijis card flipped up.
All-Devouring White: 25000 ATK → 26000 ATK
"In chain, I activate my own Trap Card: Curse Transfer!" Eva replied, "This one negates your Traps effect, and then activates it as its own."
All-Devouring White: 26000 ATK → 27000 ATK
"What?" Keiji asked bewildered, "a card like that exists?"
"Oh it certainly does," Eva smiled, as both cards disappeared, "now Keiji, you just skipped your own Battle Phase. Which means, I am free to aim for another target right now."
She turned her attention to Jeanie, who eyed her with all the hatred she could muster: "All-Devouring White, put an end to Revolution Airship and that insolent little girl!"
The beast raised its claws, before taking an upwards leap at the airship, slicing it into two pieces. When its gas caught fire, the entire machine was engulfed in a fiery explosion that rained down onto Jeanie, who could barely make it out of the crashing zone.
Jeanie: 2000 LP → 0 LP
"Jeanie, are you alright?" Keiji shouted, but his sister gave him a thumbs up before trying to get up. Daichi, who eventually got back on his feet after being defeated himself helped her stand.
"I'm fine," she eventually said, "as good as it gets, I mean. But hey, I bought you another turn. Not like I could've done anything meaningful on mine anyway."
"Alright," Keiji said, "so what do I do?"
"Play your turn, I'm waiting," Eva said, replacing the one Trap she used that turn.
"Listen brother," Jeanie said, "all you need to do is last through her next turn, then you can defeat her with your field nuke thing and the ATK gain."
"Yeah, sounds easy," Keiji replied, "it's not like she can literally pull an answer to everything I do straight from her deck."
"You would think she could, but actually she doesn't."
"Elaborate," Eva said curiously.
"You see," Jeanie replied, this time directed at Eva, "it seems like you can just pull out a bunch of Traps from your Deck which give you an answer for everything we do. But notice how you've been using less and less of the whole batch ever since your monster hit the field? Due to the nature of your deck, you cannot use more than one Trap with the same name. You also have a lot of really specific cards, like that Trap copy one. So that means that after using up all the good ones, you're eventually stuck with some that don't work. It's simply mathematics."
"Sounds good," Keiji said, before drawing his card, "I activate the effect of Nuclear Gunner! I banish my Bullet Spark from my Graveyard, in order to destroy all other cards on the field!"
A tiny jolt of lightning emerged from Keijis Duel Disk and sprung into Nuclear Gunner, who turned the energy from a tiny jolt into a massive orb of concentrated energy within a matter of seconds. When it combusted, it covered the entire field in electric energy, incinerating Evas backrow.
All-Devouring White: 27000 ATK → 32000 ATK
"Next up, I Normal Summon Bullet Spark," Keiji went on, as the small jolt of lightning appeared on his field once more.

"Since I cannot use my Battle Phase anyway, seeing as you copied my Thunder of Ruler last turn, there is no way not going nuts over that fact, is it?" Keiji said as he activated a Spell Card from his hand, "I activate Spark, Start, Draw, which allows me to tribute one of my Thunder monsters to draw two cards, but all Battle Damage you take until the End Phase will be halved."
"Which doesn't matter since I wouldn't have been taking Battle Damage anyhow," Eva mused, "Not bad."
The small monster disappeared once more, before Keiji placed the two cards that he drew face-down: "I end my turn."
"You're meaning to combat All-Devouring White with Trap Cards?" Eva laughed as she refilled her field with new Traps, "oh dearie you must truly be desperate."
"You only had like ten or fifteen cards left to choose from, so I'll take the gamble that you're out of options."
"I am everything but out of options dearie," Eva said, "let me show you right away: I activate my Trap Card Hollow White. It's one of my more odd Trap Cards since it requires me to be winning already to run it, but it has some nice applications to it, like in this very specific game. It allows my All-Devouring White to attack you directly by halving the damage it inflicts to you."
All-Devouring White: 32000 ATK → 33000 ATK
"Half of 33000 ATK is still enough to defeat about anyone," Daichi exclaimed, "I hope those two cards of yours are extra spicy."
"I didn't really account for direct attacks," Keiji admitted, a fact that caused Eva to laugh loudly.
"Too bad for you," she said, "go forth my beast, end this misadventure." The monster raised its claw above its head, ready to strike down directly at Keiji, but he simply pushed one of the buttons on his Duel Disk causing one of his Traps to flip up.
"You know, for such a master manipulator you seem to be pretty gullible," Keiji quipped, "I activate Dimension Wall! This one makes you take any Battle Damage I would have taken from the Battle you just declared!"
All-Devouring White: 33000 ATK → 34000 ATK
"Sometimes, you have to take risks you can afford to take, when you have countermeasures prepared," Eva replied, seemingly unfazed by her pending defeat, "I activate my Trap Card Gushing White. It activates whenever I would take Battle Damage. It converts said damage into effect damage and makes me take 1000 of it, while making you take the entire rest."
All-Devouring White: 34000 ATK → 35000 ATK
And just like that, All-Devouring Whites claw struck Keiji. The blow of the attack was however stopped by a transparent wall that rose up in front of him, before it shattered, the pieces dashing at Eva, shortly before turning into white light and going right back to Keiji, combusting on the impact.
Eva: 1900 LP → 900 LP
"Valiant effort," Eva said, "but you never stood a chance."
"From my point of few," Keijis yelled at her from inside a cloud of dust, "I'm still standing!"
When the dust cleared, Eva could see that Keiji had activated his second Trap Card.
"I activate my card Pain to Pressure. It converts all the damage I take from a card effect into attack points on my Nuclear Gunner."
Boltedge Nuclear Gunner: 3500 ATK → 20000 ATK
All-Devouring White: 35000 ATK → 36000 ATK
"Huh," Eva exclaimed, "if you next turn comes around, you'll most likely win, won't you dearie."
"If everything turns out the way I expect it to be, then yes," Keiji said, "is this still so much fun."
"Not really," Eva continued, "I really need to take care of this now. I activate my face-down card Mythical Flame. It will inflict 500 damage to you for every Trap Card that resolved this turn, except itself. Five Traps resolved, so that's 2500 damage."
A purple flame emerged from Evas card, that engulfed Keiji and ate away a huge chunk of his Life Points.
Keiji: 4000 LP → 1500 LP
All-Devouring White: 36000 ATK → 37000 ATK
"Close, but not close enough," Keiji said after the flames subsided.
"That's what you think," Eva continued, "but I still have one Trap Card left."
The last card on her side of the field flipped up as she continued: "I activate Boiling White, which copies the effect of any Normal Trap Card from my Graveyard."
"So you're copying Mythical Flame, to inflict 3000 damage to me," Keiji said breathlessly.
"Indeed I do."
The Trap Card went up in flames and white light, which shot towards Keiji and knocked him off his feet, as his Life Points plummeted down.
All-Devouring White: 37000 ATK → 38000 ATK
Keiji: 1500 LP → 0 LP
"Now, now," Eva laughed, looking at how Jeanie and Daichi rushed to Keijis aid, "you're having bigger issues than little Keenan feeling unwell."
The three of them looked up to still see All-Devouring White looming above them, ready to strike.
"I'm sorry, but I cannot allow you to continue onward, I really can't," Eva said, "all you're gonna do is cause discord in my carefully laid plans. So you'll have to go."
"Bring it, bitch," Jeanie defiantly growled at her.
"Oh I will dearie. All-Devouring White..."
The monster got ready, but before Eva could give the order, they were all interrupted by a flash of blue light in their midst.
At the same time, the area around them morphed into a park at midnight, with a fully dark sky, as if it was a new moon.
"Eva," Ava said as she realized that she was standing opposite of her sister, "I see. You're my purpose. I have to face you one last time, before we fade from this world."
"Sister," Eva replied dumbfounded, "I was wondering when you would show up."
Eyeing All-Devouring White, Ava shuddered: "Looks like I appeared in the nick of time."
As she said that, the remaining cards on her field leftover from her Duel against Suito materialized on the field.

"The field is set up," Ava said, "it's time to settle the score."
"Oh we will," Eva replied, "bring it on, sis."
"Excuse me," Jeanie eventually spoke up, directed at the black-clothed woman that appeared out of thin air, "who are you?"
"I think that's Ava, Eva's sister," Keiji recognized the description Yuito gave when he talked about her.
"Ava?" Jeanie replied, recalling the name from a story Yuito told her, "I thought she's a crazy, murderous shape shifter."
"Oh I am," Ava turned to face them, "if the situation calls for it, I am. But I admit that I failed. You're friends with Yuito, are you?"
"Yes, I'm his best friend," Keiji answered.
"Good," the woman replied, before waving her hand and causing the white dome that kept them trapped to disappear, "maybe you can convince him to do the right thing."
"The right thing?" Jeanie asked confused, and almost as an answer, the five of them witnessed as, a few blocks away, a giant multi-colored pillar of light shot up into the sky.
"What is that?" Daichi yelled, almost stumbling over backwards as he did.
"That, I am afraid, confirms that I failed," Ava somberly said, "the Convergence is upon us, and no one can stop it anymore."

Must be Ritual Summoned with "Ever White" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Cannot be targeted or destroyed by your opponent's card effects while you control a face-down card. Gains 1000 ATK for each Trap that is face-up on the field, in the GYs or banished.
