Chapter 69: Genderbent

I woke up the same as I did every other morning, but something felt… off. "Ugh… … What the hell…? Why do I feel-? ...? Why does my voice sound different...?" I shook my head, then noticed. At this point, I hadn't heard myself enough to fully grasp what had happened to me. I got up, took one look at a mirror, and completely freaked out in my mind. Gyaaah! What happened to me?! Am I a girl?! What the hell is this?! How am I gonna explain this to Ringo and the others?! ... … I'll try texting Ringo to have her come to my room. I pulled out my phone and texted Ringo that something happened to me. That should make her go into this room... She needs to know that I've essentially turned into a girl. A couple of minutes later, she entered. "Dave, what's-? ..." "... R-Ringo, I dunno what happened to me... but now I'm somehow a girl. ... I'm freaking out so much right now, I don't know what to do!" I managed to stay calm until that last bit. "Dave, you're a girl now? Woah... What the hell...?" She found it unbelievable. "I know! What the hell, indeed! Am I stuck like this? Am I gonna have to start LIVING life as a girl? What will happen to my love life with you, Feli, and Draco?" I continued to freak out. "Okay, okay... Just calm down, Dave. Maybe Ms. Accord will know how to fix this; your body change doesn't seem to be natural." She placed a hand on my now smaller shoulders. "*sigh* No shit it doesn't seem to be natural, Ringo…" I finally calmed myself. "Anyway, let's get ready for the day and go to Primp when it's time." Ringo left my room.

Aw man… I don't really know how to live life as a girl. I know that a girl needs to take care of her own body, more than a guy does with his. Let's see… My hair's now long and messy. Additionally, I no longer have a dick, which feels so weird to me. And I actually have breasts… I mean, my chest is still small, but it seems like I'm not flat-chested at this point. Still though, I can probably get away with not wearing a bra in this circumstance. As I got ready, Ms. Ando was made aware of my sudden change and was obviously surprised. Soon though, she commented on how "cute" I was. This bothered me because at that moment, I was a guy who was stuck in the body of a girl. Serilly was also surprised by this development, but then giggled in response to how cute I looked.

Dammit, I'm not cute... This isn't the real me, just a female interpretation of myself that looks frail. … Geez... my muscles are nearly noodle-like again. I doubt I'll be able to pick up heavy things for a while. We ate breakfast before I went out to see how things looked. Hm... Just a little bit of snow. I don't think it's going to cause problems for us. The sun's out, so it might melt what's there and dry up the ground. After I checked it out briefly, I closed the door and came back to Ringo. "Ringo, my hair's a mess… Do you think you can... help me straighten it out? I haven't asked for help before, because... I never had my hair this long as a guy." I awkwardly requested. "It can't be helped, I suppose... Here, let me take you to my room." She grabbed my hand. I followed her there and sat down on a chair where a mirror was in front of it. Ringo's hair brushes and stuff rested neatly on this mini dresser, which was also in front of the chair I was sitting on.

Ringo cleaned off the appropriate hair brush and began to do some work on my hair. "See, you gotta know where to stroke first and work your way down, Dave. It simply doesn't work out if you start from the bottom, because when you do the top second... you'll mess up the bottom in the process. This only becomes more complicated when you want something more than a simple brush sweep. Now, I know that you're still a guy inside... but do you want something more than just straight hair? A girl always needs to have some level of fashion sense, right?" She explained before asking me. "... N-no, I think I'm fine with just straight hair, Ringo. It'll make it slightly easier to convince our friends that I've changed into a girl. They won't recognize me at all with no explanation if you give me curly hair or something." I answered. "Okay, I get what you're saying." She accepted. Soon, my lengthy hair had straightened out and it didn't feel too bad.

More of the day passed before it was time to go. I still wore the typical clothes I had been wearing for a while on this day. I wonder how Lemres is going to react to this... He's always been such a bro, but this change of mine is sudden and out there. Well, there's no time like the present, I guess... I should go outside and into the cold. I went through the front door directly after Ringo and Lemres immediately noticed something off about this picture. "Yo, Ringo. ... Eh? Who's this chick? ... And more importantly, where's Dave?" He went, then asked. "Lemres, something happened since we came back here yesterday…" Ringo answered. After that, she nudged my arm with her elbow, as though she wanted me to tell Lemres. "Um… ... Y-yo, Lemres, it's me." I spoke. This brought out a reaction from the comet warlock, looking as though he now recognized me. "Eeeeeh? I know that attitude from anywhere! Dave? Why're ya girl all o' a sudden?!" He freaked out.

Before that point... I hardly ever heard Lemres throwing his voice out, let alone, freak out. "I-I dunno! This must've happened while I was asleep last night… I don't know how to get myself back to norm- Ah! Oh no, I need to go and I don't know how to do so as a girl…!" I told him before I did "the dance". "Oh my God... *sigh* Okay, let me get you to the bathroom, Dave. ... Hey, can you just wait out here for a few more minutes, Lemres?" Ringo grabbed me before she asked. "'A-aight… I'll stay out here, Ringo…" He nodded and spoke in an awkward tone. Lemres clearly wasn't feeling right when I mentioned that I needed to go. Quickly, Ringo taught me how to go and I saw my supposed... vagina. Ugh, this is SO not right... What the fuck...? Thankfully, now that I knew how to go as a girl, it was no longer a major issue.

We went back outside and Lemres had recovered from that scene... for the most part. He still felt uneasy about me being a girl now. This was understandable, considering that we had been absolute bros to each other for months at this point. "A-are ya done…?" He asked. "... Yeah, Lemres." I answered. "... Good. Then let's go…" He made a portal for the three of us to go into. When I did go to the Potions classroom, I made absolutely sure to have Witch be aware of my change. "Hellooo, who are you? I've never seen you around here before…" She wondered. "Um... Witch it's me, Dave. I turned into a girl as I slept last night..." I whispered into her ear. "...! Wait, what?! ... H=how?!" She whispered back. "I don't know! I want to find out what caused me to change like this. I'm assuming that you don't know how to fix this, based on your reaction…" I responded with. "N-nope…" She confirmed my assumption.

Damn, this has turned into a real problem... "What are the other students going to think if they find out that I have turned into a girl?" I asked Witch. "D-don't worry, Dave… I'll think of something to have them not freak out. ... Do Lemres and Feli know what happened to you?" She said before asking me. "Lemres knows... As for Feli, I don't know. Lemres could've told her about what happened, but that's just a maybe." I told her. "O-okay. Looks like we'll both have to wing it here. Just do what I'm about to tell you: … ..." She nodded, then told me. I agreed to this plan that Witch quickly made. After that talk, I got myself into the classroom and hid in a very dark portion of the room. From there, no one was able to see me. I saw Feli enter the room and she sat in her seat a few seconds after I got into position. A minute after that, the bell clapped and Witch entered the room.

Well, I guess the other students haven't noticed that I'm not around... Maybe Lemres has realized that I'm not around… ... I don't know. "*throat clear* Alright children, quiet down. ... ... Now, something has been brought to my attention... yesterday. You may or may not have noticed that Dave is nowhere to be seen here. Before you go and wonder why: There is a perfectly good explanation of this. ... Go on, show yourself." Witch started to lie a bit before referring to me. I came out from the shadows and the students jumped from seeing that. "Woah, who's this chick? I've never seen her before…" A male student wondered. "Whoever she is, she's cuuute!" A female student gushed over my current look. You have no idea that you just called a guy cute... "Hey, those clothes she's wearing... Aren't those very clothes similar to what Dave usually wears?" The same male student wondered, turning to another male student. "I dunno, dude, she might just be a tomboy." The second said to him. "Yeah, she might be…" He agreed.

I'm no girl. And I'm no tomboy, either; I just look like one, dammit. These guys are going to freak the hell out if the truth is set free... I moved myself to Witch and I could tell that she was nervous, even though her face appeared to be normal. I couldn't blame her for being nervous, we were both improvising here. "For the foreseeable future: Dave will be taking an unspecified number of days off from school. And since he was part of a group that was formed yesterday in this class, I had to find a replacement student quickly. And this girl here is a temporary transfer student of sorts. Go on, introduce yourself." Witch continued to go forward with the lie. "U-um... Hi everyone…" I began. Crap, I need a name! A good name for a girl, what could I go with here? … Aha! I got it! "My name is Amelia, I hope we can get along just fine for the time that I'm here." I played along. I saw Lemres raise an eyebrow for a split second, but he must have figured out what me and Witch were doing. He smiled within another split second, as though he approved of me going and making everyone else think that I was just a random girl. Good, that probably means that he's also willing to play along with this. Thank you, Lemres. You never fail to deliver a helping hand... As for Feli… ... She seems to be unaware that the guy she loves is standing here right now. I'm sure she's able to keep this secret... I'll tell her when I get the chance. "Good. You can sit down where Dave sat." Witch said, still playing this charade. I sat down and other students bagan to talk amongst themselves again. This time though, I couldn't really make out what any of them were saying. These mini conversations were just too quiet for my ears to pick up on.

From there we continued class as normal and the two groups that completed the ingredient collecting on time got into the potion making of the extra credit assignment. Lemres came up to me when Feli was still sitting down. "Uh… ya want me to tell Feli that you're a girl?" He quietly asked. "... Sure, why not?" I allowed him. He went back to Feli and whispered into her ear. When I saw the look on Feli's face as he did so, she was completely taken aback. I also saw her nod to him several seconds after that, so it seemed as though she was going to play along with the charade with us. "Well, Feli's gonna keep up this charade with us." Lemres told me. "Excellent, nicely done." I smiled. "What would ya do without me? This is why we're best friends 'til the end." He smiled back. Feli came up to be with us and began whispering to me as well. "Geez, I thought you were just some random girl inexplicably replacing Dave for the time being. But no, you ARE Dave... ... I was worried about you, you know… I thought that something happened to you. How did you turn into-" She quietly spoke before I stopped her. "I don't know, Feli... I just did, overnight, while I was sleeping. Regardless, I have to find out what caused this shit to happen and revert back to my actual self." I told her. Well, as actual as I can get outside my OWN world anyway... … I wonder if I can still do all the same things I was able to do as the Demonic Dragon Warrior before turning into a girl... ... I'll have to try them out later.

We got into the potion making part of the thing and there really wasn't much to it. I became more experienced with making them within this class. That, and working with Lemres and Feli made this very easy to do. I had no doubt that this potion we were making was of excellent quality. The other group saw me work on this flawlessly with Lemres and Feli, then I heard them comment on it. "Hey, that girl's pretty damn good... She only just got here today and she's killing it in the potion making department." The male student I saw yesterday said. "I guess the instructor was set on getting an adequate replacement for Dave while he's gone. I wonder where he's at right now…" The female student told him. You better believe that I'm damn good... I'm surprised that they haven't picked up how similarly I'm doing things here compared to last time. Maybe they can't see that? Eh, whatever... At last, we made the potion out of the ingredients that we collected from the day before. Witch had explained that this specific potion is called a jolly spirit. And no, it's not like an alcoholic beverage. jolly spirit boosts one's spirit on Christmas Eve only. This potion doesn't do anything on any other day of the year. The boost acquired from a jolly spirit depends on the amount one consumes. And we were told that taking in the entire vial at one time wasn't a very good idea. Why is that the case? Well, it was explained that an entire vial of this stuff makes the consumer get into the Christmas spirit too much, causing their brain to rot somewhat.

Eeeew... I wouldn't want my brain to be a rotting mess. So okay, small doses. Got it. "I think I'll hold on to this…" Lemres insisted. "I... guess, go ahead." I said. "'Kay. ... Feli, what about you?" Lemres turned to face her. "I also think it's fine for you to hold on to that." She answered. "Excellent. ... Pss, Dave. I'm gonna go and alert Ms. Accord of you being a girl right now. I'll tell the whole class to stay here until class is over." Witch said to us before whispering to me. "Okay." I whispered back. "... Children, I have to do something outside this room. Please wait for class to be over before you leave. Until then, Lemres will watch over all of you. Got it?" She told the rest of the class. "Okay." The class said in unison. Witch then left and it was just us students in the room. "So, what did she say to ya?" Lemres quietly asked me. "She said that she was going to tell Ms. Accord of what happened to me." I answered. "So I guess it'll be a way to make sure that Amitie and such don't worry about you being "missing"." Feli joined in. "Not really... but that's one benefit to letting Ms. Accord know about this issue. Ms. Witch is probably going to tell her what happened because she thinks Ms. Accord knows how to fix this." I told her. "... But what if she doesn't?" Lemres brought up a real possibility.

Oh yeah... there might be a decent chance that even Ms. Accord doesn't know how to fix this. "I'll just have to see when I get to her classroom, then." I said. "That's really the only way to find out for sure…" Feli nodded slowly. The bell clapped just as she finished saying that. "Well, see ya." Lemres waved. "Yeah." I did the same. The three of us had separated and I went directly to Ms. Accord's room. Standing in front of it was both her and Witch. "Ah good, you're here. I just told her about your problem and she's now aware." Witch told me. "Yes. Thank you, Ms. Witch. I'll take hold of the situation now and let you go about your business." Accord nodded.

With that, Witch left and Accord quickly got me into the room before Amitie and the others came by. "Dave, remember that one small room in here that I used to place Amitie and the others into? You know, during the beginning of your journey in the form of this class?" She asked me. "... Yeah, why do you ask?" I questioned. "Well, I'm going to put you in here now and show you to the rest of the class when the time comes. Now, I assume Ms. Ando knows that you are a girl, correct?" She told me before asking me another thing. "You mean Ringo? Yeah, she knows. Lemres and Feli also know, in case you wanted to know that as well." I said. "Good. That is very helpful, Dave." She smiled. "Get in that kitten of a room meow! The others are coming!" Popoi told me. Without any second thoughts, I quickly placed myself in there and closed the door behind me. All I could see was darkness as I stood inside. I heard Amitie's voice come by as she sounded like her usual cheery self. This was followed by Raffina's where she sounded slightly annoyed at first, but then it changed to being cheery as well. The others sounded like themselves as well; little was changed in the tone of their voices, except for Ringo. Although, she sounded like she was trying to sound like nothing unusual was up. I heard the bell clap and I listened to what was about to go down. "Okay kiddies, it's time for class." Accord got my friends' attention. "... Hey, where's Dave?" I heard Amitie ask.

Well, it's now or never, Ms. Accord... Please, go and explain my "disappearance". "Yeah, where IS he? I haven't seen him yet." I heard Rulue's voice come in. "... I hope it's nothing serious…" I heard Ex say. "... I suppose I have no choice but to address the lack of the elephant in the room. Don't worry, Dave is indeed here. In fact, he is in this very classroom right now." Accord assured everyone. "Huh?" Amitie went. "Wait... is Dave in that small room there? Why isn't he sitting down with the rest of us?" Klug guessed and asked. "Why, yes he is, Klug. You see, there was an extremely good reason why Dave put himself into that room just before you all came in. You are all about to see why that is: Dave, you can come out now." Accord answered, then said.

Oh sure, show and don't tell... ... Well, I guess that's really the only way to go about convincing the others that it's me. Here goes nothing... I opened the door to have the room's light shine into my eyes. As my eyes adjusted... the rest of the class, aside from Ringo, could not believe it. "Uh, tuh-daaah…" I said awkwardly. "H-HUUUUUH?!" They reacted. Even Tarutaru was taken aback by this revelation. "I-Is that really you, Dave?! What the heck happened to you?!" Amitie exclaimed. "H-h-he's a girl now, Amitie... a-and I doubt none of us know why he's currently like this." Klug stuttered. "... This is so weird…" Raffina sighed. "Agreed…" Yui did the same. "Dave…? Oh God... What did you get yourself into now?" Ex seemed quite concerned for me. "T-talk about an extreme transformation…" Rulue stuttered as well. "P-please, I can explain this somewhat! Just calm yourselves…" I motioned my hands to show them.

I explained to all of them as much as I could about this whole thing. I told them that I didn't know why or how I turned into a girl, so that bit was still a mystery to all of us. Additionally, I mentioned that Ringo, Lemres, and Feli all knew about this before they did. I told them to promise to keep this whole thing a complete secret. We didn't want the entire student body knowing about me suddenly turning into a girl. And then there was one last thing I told them: I said that, to the rest of the student body... I was just some mysterious, tomboyish-looking girl that just showed up today as a temporary transfer student, "replacing Dave" until I can turn back to how I'm supposed to be. "Until I change back into a guy, you're all going to refer to me as Amelia when there are other people around us. Understand? Like I said before: I really want to keep this a secret and not have the entire student body freak the hell out." I finished. "So Amitie... are you capable of not letting this accidentally slip out? The rest of us can surely keep our mouths shut, but I doubt you'll be able to without help. You say certain things all the time that shouldn't be said aloud." Ringo spoke to her. "U-um... just knowing this is making me feel unsure about that, Ringo." She admitted. "... Amitie, I know that you'd rather not keep things secret... but we all know this here as friends. It shouldn't be too hard to keep outside students in the dark. Just remember not to let this slip, okay?" I understood her. "O-okay, Dave…" She nodded.

Hopefully things can stay like this until I change back… "Now, I haven't asked yet, Ms. Accord… but do you know how to fix this?" I turned to face her. "... Unfortunately, no. Dave, I don't know how to fix this problem of yours." She answered. That's what I was afraid of... Damn it. "However, I will get to the bottom of this and help you turn back to how you are supposed to be, if at all possible. I can tell that you dislike being a girl." Accord promised. "Th-thank you…" My eyes widened. "Hey, do you think Ecolo knows something about this? Maybe he can lead us to whatever the root of the problem is." Ex suggested. "Yeah, he might actually know! Let's go to the farthest edge of spacetime and see him!" Ringo perked up. "Hold on, let me join in as well. After all, I've been watching Dave throughout this day and observed what's been happening since he changed." We heard another voice. Then, he appeared to us. "...! Satan!" I looked up. "I want to know why and how he changed too. I didn't watch him when it came to the middle of the night, so I'm just as clueless here as the rest of you." He said. "Fair enough, let us all go together, then." Accord allowed. "Wait, ALL of us? Are you sure? Lidelle may not want to see a place like the farthest edge of spacetime." I questioned. "I-i-it's okay, Dave... I'll be fine with you guys." Lidelle told me. "..." I looked at her before I silently nodded. "Then let's go." Ex motioned his hand.

He made a portal for us to go to the path that would lead us to the farthest edge of spacetime. Again, he wasn't able to bring all of us to the edge with just the portal. That would have been very draining on his dimensional power. As we all traveled through the portal, I began to think for a bit. If Ecolo has the answer to solving this problem, then we'll hopefully know at least how I turned into a girl. He's the only one that can guide us through in fixing this, so that we can go back to our lives as normal. I just wish that Lemres and Feli were with us as well... I'm going to have to tell them later. Hm? Oh, we're almost at the other side of this portal. When we came out, Ex immediately noticed that something was wrong. "...! My God...! Everyone, we need to run to the farthest edge of spacetime as quickly as possible; something bad has happened here!" He alerted us. "Then, has Ecolo been in danger lately?!" I began to run. "I don't know, but we need to get there as soon as possible!" Ex responded as he ran as well. "R-Right behind you guys!" Amitie followed. The others followed as well while we made a dash for the edge. I feared that something attacked Ecolo and that was probably why this place looked even more broken up than it did the first time I came there. Let's just hope that we didn't come by too late...
