Writing Challenge: Shatter the Story at the Start

AU-Type: Canon-esque AU [This would take place right during Bismuth, before Bismuth could show Steven, the Breaking Point.]/Crossover

Tags: Steven's given the choice, Hard truths are lain out, Pretty much spitting on the show with this challenge, Steven's also a bit less actual pacifistic and more martial pacifistic, Lapis is also less of an unlikeable character

Nobody knew what to do. Bismuth was on her way to show Steven the Breaking Point and suddenly they found themselves back at the Beach House. Lapis and Peridot were chilling at the barn and it was the same thing with them. As were others. Jasper, Connie and her family, and Greg all found themselves all at the Beach House on the ever-growing couch. In Jasper's case, she was restrained…with growing shackles. Amethyst, Pearl, and Garnet all wanted answers, but Garnet was panicking because her future vision was not working at all. And then suddenly a dirty and ragged Spinel was dumped onto the floor both blinking and confused to why she was there.

"Steven, I…wait, I was in the shower…how am I fully dressed?" Connie said looking down at her herself.

"I was training! Now I'm trapped here with you layabouts and your…"

"Enough!"

The booming voice got them all as a flame appeared in front of them before it formed into a person. A tall and matured woman with a youthful and radiant appearance having pinkish-red hair and pinkish purple skin. She wore a pair of Potara earrings, baggy silver pants, a white Supreme Kai vest with dark grey trimming slightly opened up to reveal a black collared tank top, a pale grey sash folded over her abdomen, a pair of golden boots, and a pair of bracers on her hands. Her reddish hair was long cascading down to her back with a bang over her right eye.

"I have come because I have seen this timeline and it is a withered mess doomed to failure and disappointment. I have come to change that." She said. "I am Wairu Tempus, a Keeper of Time. And the reason I've brought you here is to tell you that your timeline is a damaged mess. The damage was already effecting you since after Jasper invaded Earth, but I had to wait until Bismuth was freed."

"How bad's the damage? I'm sure it's not too bad." Steven said hopefully.

Wairu glared at much as she snapped her fingers producing a floating television screen. She did proceed to show them why Steven's hope was dead in the water. She showed them every crack at the issue, their 'canon' future, and the secrets Rose held onto so tightly. By the end, Steven had the expression of feeling completely broken inside. Everyone else? Not so much better. Pearl looked like she wanted to shrink and hide. Garnet, Bismuth, Lapis, and Jasper were all seething considering they all got screwed over for a war that was practically a game for Rose Diamond. Bismuth realized exactly why she was bubbled as hot tears poured down her face. Lapis let out a scream before punching the coffee table in two. Her trauma and suffering were all for this farce of a war…it sparked a realization of her 'lashing out' at others. At what she did to Peridot and Jasper…she felt like Pink had poison.

"Lapis, I know this will sound awkward now…but sorry about poofing you." Bismuth said still shedding those steamy tears.

"I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous!" Priyanka said rubbing her face. "If Pink had all these abilities, how the hell did she do so badly in the war? Why even disguise herself as Rose Quartz? If Steven could body the Diamonds in his way, couldn't Pink do the same? And what the hell were you thinking, Pearl?"

"Why am I suddenly an idiot for things to happen? Why is the timeline so focused on Steven that we can't learn about anyone else? How is it it's somehow okay to make peace with the Diamonds?! More important, why didn't she warn Steven about the Diamonds in her video messages?!" Connie screamed holding her face. "What kind of future is this?!"

Spinel just could not react…she simply felt drained. Any anger felt just simply fall flat as she got herself up onto her feet looking at Wairu like a kicked puppy as all. Steven was about to reach out only for Wairu to stop him.

"Steven, I know what you are going. Don't you dare apologize for your mother's inaction, misgivings, and all around shit. You shouldn't…nor should you be cleaning up the steaming pile of shit she left you. As for the rest of you, I picked you all because you were damaged most by Pink and the timeline…aside from the loathsome Diamonds." Wairu explained. "For your timeline, there's a special layer of shit. Pink may have corrupted this timeline with her and now Steven's Gem. This thankfully can be fixed…but it comes with a price."

"What's the cost?" Steven asked.

"I can bring this corrupted timeline to an end, but you'll have to join your power with me. In the process, I can take you and everyone here to a new world for you to live, a second chance away from this war and the Diamonds. You may get a chance to have Pink revived to exist alongside you. Personally, I figured you all want to confront her and for me…a fitting punishment for her." Wairu mused.

"What about the others, will we remember anything?" Connie asked concerned.

"To answer your second question: yes, you all standing here will have your memories intact. Anyone notable to the timeline who died will have their memories intact. Everyone else will not have their memories, but there's a possibility they can regain it. You, Steven, will also have to embrace your Diamond powers. In short, you accept this offer. It will damn this world and there will be no going back." Wairu explained with authority. "Steven, what will it be? Because the choice is purely yours."

Steven paused and looked to the group asking for their thoughts.

"Take the deal. Honestly, you deserve better. If it were one was up to me, I'd go. We don't deserve to be having to clean up your mother's mess." Amethyst spoke up.

"Steven, I…I don't know I have anything to say." Pearl said quietly. "The choice is yours and I'll support whatever you choose to do."

Garnet, who was sticking together by a thread, gave a stoic nod to Steven wanting to leave the decision to him. Jasper had a more drastic way of getting her thoughts by insisting Steven should.

"Look you and I should leave this world, Pink screwed us both other. We wouldn't even be enemies if she had been upfront about the rebellion." Jasper said making a valid. "Lapis wouldn't have tortured me under the sea…"

"Yeah, about that. I've been wanting to…" Lapis said only for Jasper to stop her.

"No, don't apologize. Any apologies in this world are meaningless. Everything's meaningless here." Jasper said shaking her head.

"Steven, I'm just going to say this. I'll support what choice you make." Connie said supportively.

Peridot remained silent comforting Bismuth as Greg gave Steven a firm thumbs up.

"I'll do it." Steven said offering his hand.

Wairu took as they both began to glow with Steven's gem shifting back into it's rightful place. Lion happened to walk in as it went down.

"As an act of mercy, upon your stabilization, I will leave you with the tools to learn about your powers and draw out your potential. I'll also give a modification to the Gems to allow them to safely reproduce if they want. I bid you good luck whenever you up, Steven." Wairu said as the world around Steven and others faded out. "You're going to need it…"

Challenge Rules:

- Wherever they end up, the group (especially the humans) will gain 'adjustments' to the respective world they end up in.

- The new world they end in up, Connie must be a fan of the world in question. This is to make the crossover run smoother.

- The world they end up in would drastically affect Lion. Giant gems would be also to be scaled down to human size (like the Diamonds).

- Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond would be revived in the new world memories intact. Considering she is Steven's mother by default, you can decide on whether she joins the party when they wake up in the new world or is already living in said new world. [Up to you whether she atones or not/whether the casts choose to keep her around them.]

- The world that they merge into can either be pre-canon/during canon/post-canon. Regardless, the rest of the cast of Steven Universe would have to be shown or mentioned with new lives.

- Ships are up to you to decide.

- PM me when you got a pilot up.

Worlds I Would Suggest:

Grand Theft Auto – [A world that would tear Steven's pacifism to shreds, but it would be fun to watch them wander about in this world. The Diamonds being corrupted cops would be interesting.]

Animal Crossing – [Jasper would hate this world…at first. Then she'd meet the Doom Slayer.]

Pokémon – [Lion would be a fluffy Pink Arcanine, Connie would be ecstatic, and Jasper wants to wrestle an Ursaring.]

One Piece – [Considering the best SU crossovers are in there, I'd love a more direct crossover. Maybe they join the Straw Hats or maybe start their own crew.]

RWBY – [Picture, Salem having to deal with the Diamonds.]

DCAU and/or Teen Titans – [Please…someone do this one.]

Any other CN show – [Picture them crashing the party, the possibilities are endless.]
