Spinel passed out for a nap on Steven's bed after a few rounds leaving Steven to wonder what to do with his day to himself. He had already completed some light training and it was edging closer to lunch. The risk was made to call Connie and she thankfully answered citing she was really bored at school.

"You know, I could drop by. I got nothing going on at the moment…the rest of the CGs are out on a mission and my dad's out at a convention." Steven remarked.

"Steven, I really wish I could get out of school." Connie said as Steven had an idea. "But I'm stuck in study hall all afternoon, all the teachers I was having this afternoon are out sick. Food poisoning from the cafeteria."

"Pretty sure, you could probably ditch." Steven remarked.

"Even if I wanted to do, I can't just…" Connie said only to pause. "Huh, well it seems luck's on my side. They're sending us all home…apparently more food poisoning from the cafeteria. I'm actually glad I didn't eat lunch yet."

"Hey Connie, head on home. I'll swing by." Steven said kindly. "See you there."

He hung up and went to his closet getting on some fresh clothes. If anything, he had special clothing that he wanted to his go-to outfit. A dark red chang pao with a kanji for Ketsueki hishigata (Blood Diamond), dark pink lining, and all the bells and whistles. If anything, his clothes were a mirror to Mercenary Tao, himself. With his gear on his sides, he took off for the skies.

"So, I hear that you friends with that martial artist who thrashed those punks at the pizza place."

Connie rolled her eyes as this. She swore that her school left so cliché and these clowns act like they walked off the set of the Karate Kid films. Hao was basically the worst of the douches from those films rolled into one. A lover of martial arts, Hao used his talents to bully others and basically be king asshole. Connie was never on his radar until he overheard her mentioning said friend beating up some thugs and knowing him. Now, Hao was badgering Connie for information to which Connie was ignoring. Training had done small wonders for her and having her vision fully healed meant she could look intimidating. Now, she refused to have the entitled shit the time of day as they and other students were heading home. Hao and his friends did not like that response.

"Hey, you stupid bitch. I was talking to you!" Hao said before grabbing Connie by the shoulder.

Connie took a breath before slipping the weighted band on her wrist to around her knuckle. Then she punched him in the stomach following with a swift uppercut to the jaw sending him off his feet and onto his back with a bruised jaw. No words made, Connie slipped her weighted band back on her wrist and left his cronies to help Hao up.

She walked into a nearby convenience store to get something as she turned to see she was followed.

"Not bad, Connie." Steven said with a little smirk.

"Steven, what's with the outfit? Not that it's not cool." Connie said as Steven took up a big bag of barbeque chip to put on the counter to pay for it.

"I figured I'd go the formal route in fighting. Look the part of the professional. The looser gi is more for my relaxation and comfort. This is when I'm on business." Steven said firmly. "At least until I upgrade."

Hao walked into the store as Steven paid for the chips as Hao and his gang entered the store. Hao looking rather sore that Connie socked him and left.

"You. I don't know how you caught me off-guard, but I'll save the questions for after I beat you." Hao said only for Steven to get in the way. "Who the hell are you supposed to be?"

Steven cracked his knuckles glaring at the teen like he was an ant.

"A martial artist." Steven said quietly. "Tell me, what are you?"

"Hmph, the ace of the Rattlesnake Shaolin Dojo, Hao Zhang, you whelp. The fuck are you, a weeb cosplayer? Hop on a plane to Japan, asshole." Hao said arrogantly.

"Ok, first off, this is a chang pao which is Chinese. Secondly…" Steven said before spin kicking him into the counter. "I'm an otaku, dickface."

Steven apologized to the worker for staining the counter with the blood of this doofus only to get punched by Hao. Not that it hurt, he looked more annoyed much to Hao's shock.

"Connie, I'm surprised this town has a dojo." He said before turning towards Hao as he gripped Hao's arm. "Well, give regards to your sensei. Because…"

He twisted Hao's arm before, with a weak strike to Hao's neck, having him collapse on the floor out cold.

"Take your friend and leave. And if Connie tells me that any of you so much as breathe in her direction, we're just going to have settle things. And seeing that arrogant twat was your best…you know." Steven said as Hao's cronies dragged Hao out of the shop. "Now let me pay for th-"

"No, on the house. That Zhang prick trashed the shop last week. Take it as thanks."

Steven nodded and as Connie and him made their leave. Once at Connie's empty house, Steven tossed the bag on the couch.

"So, you won't believe it, but I managed to manipulate one of my powers to do something new. Mind control." Steven said cheekily. "I can assert my will over others."

"Holy shit…you can't be serious." Connie said gaping as Steven nodded. "I need to see this in action…you got to try it on me."

Steven raised an eyebrow at this as Connie put down her school bag.

"You can't be serious…I don't think I want to take advantage." Steven said sheepishly.

"Steven…I'm literally giving you permission. I figured you'd always put me under." Connie said with a shrug.

"What? Do you think this is a hentai?" Steven said as Connie hid a blush. "Connie….I.."

"Steven, just relax and put me under. I do want to see if this works…" Connie said before whispering something in his ear.

Part of him wanted to grant the request, but the other more sensible half was telling him to rein it in. Steven decided to throw caution to the wind considering he can sense energy. His eyes flared pink and his pupils went to diamonds as in a flash, Connie was under. He decided to do something simple as her taking him to her bedroom before breaking control.

"You had me take you to my room? That's disappointing…I figured you were done something else." Connie said as Steven blushed.

"I didn't want any fooling around to first happen because you asked me to put you under mind control." Steven said hotly. "Besides doing anything here would be a bad idea."

"You know…" Connie said checking her phone. "My parents are not going to be back 'till 10. We can go back to your place and get some training done."

Connie's face took a more teasing look suggesting they could fool around after some training.

"When the hell was Connie a perv-" Steven thought before seeing a few manga sticking out of her bed. "…oh right, otaku."

"If you want." Steven remarked. "I'll have the gi ready for you. I've been practicing materializing stuff…and I got it mostly down."

"That makes you can make a gi for me like in Dragon Ball Z?! Oh man, now I have to go through with this." Connie said getting her shoes, shirt, and pants off right in front of him.

Steven would have asked but realized she was expecting him to materialize it over her body. He tried not stare at her underwear clad body too much as Connie had a little grin as it was serving her confidence.

"Sensei, stare all you want." Connie cooed.

"Connie's thirsty." Steven thought before gulping. "And she does have a cute pair of b-No, Steven! Focus."

Steven took a breath focusing his energy before white energy shot out of his hands surrounding Connie as a new outfit materialized over her. Connie found herself a pale pink cheongsam dress with dark red accents, a black belt with a new pair of weighted bands with studs, a white headband around her head, black fingerless gloves, black boots, and black shorts that match her black sports bra. On the back of the top and center of the headband sported a similar logo of a bleeding pink diamond.

"Steven, this looks great!" Connie said twirling in it.

"We should get a move on." Steven said heading downstairs.

He got up the big bag of chips as Connie came down with came down with her duffel bag.

"Steven, can't you use Instant Transmission to teleport us to Beach City?" Connie asked.

"Even if I wanted to, I don't have a beacon to pin too. And I can't use Instantaneous Movement yet either…I have to master the first one because I can even attempt to learn that one." Steven explained as they were out the door. "By the way, what's the deal with that Hao guy?"

"Ever saw the Karate Kid?" Connie asked as Steven nodded. "Basically, Cobra Kai."

"I hope that doesn't get you in any trouble." Steven said as they were out the door.

"I can handle it." Connie said assuring as the two flew off into the sky.

Their time was spent sparring at the Sky Arena to which Steven was showing Connie his throwing technique for throwing stars. Connie tossed a flurry right into the target with ease.

"Good work on your throw. You're showing promise even making stars out of your own energy. Molding ki isn't exactly an easy feat." Steven said sagely. "I suppose I can teach you a new ki attack if the control of yours is so good."

Steven stepped back and took a breath before spewing out pink flames before even spitting out a pink fireball.

"Some people can spit out fire…others ice." Steven said looking over at her. "Focus your breathing and energy to see what happens."

Connie nodded taking it a deep breath as her ki glowed around her and spew a breath of cold freezing the air ahead of her. Steven nodded in approval.

"Aw…I wanted to breathe fire." Connie thought.

"Not bad at all, Con." Steven said as she wiped her mouth. "Let's call it a day."

"So, when are you going to get me a sword?" Connie asked as Steven brushed the back of his neck. "C'mon, please."

"I'll see what I can do." Steven said thoughtfully while thinking, "I need to get Bismuth back."

Steven and Connie were moving to leave as Spinel came out the warp pad.

"Steven, I…who's that?" Spinel asked.

"This is Connie, a friend of mine that training under me." Steven explained. "Connie, this is Spinel, one of the Crystal Gems."

"Pleasure to meet you." Connie said as Spinel bounced over.

"The pleasure's all mine." Spinel said. "I just came to get Steven so we can get lunch. I guess you can join."

"Spinel, you want me to cook?" Steven asked. "Because I've been making sure we got groceries. I feel like cooking something special for my student."

"Sure, what's going to be cookin', good lookin'?" Spinel drawled.

"Something from the Caribbean." Steven said as they all entered the Warp Pad back to the beach house.

-o=O=o-

"Spinel, why are you answering Steven's phone?" Pearl asked. "Is in any trouble?"

"He's in the kitchen, and I'm waiting for him to finish cooking with his little friend." Spinel said with a pout.

"Steven, please tell me you can go faster in the cooking." Connie whined as the process of cooking was smelling pretty good.

Connie sat on the couch with Spinel who was holding Steven's phone. As Pearl was looking over at Connie with a hint of fear.

"Steven has a friend over?" Pearl asked.

"Yeah. Steven's took some girl to be his student or something." Spinel said as Steven took his phone back. "Hey…I…"

Steven watched it off video keeping it to audio as he put it on the speaker on the counter as he returned to cooking.

"Hello Pearl, I'm just doing some red pea soup with chicken and the works, several dozen coconut drops, and I'm mixing some liquor to make rum punch." Steven said with a wry grin. "I got that Multi-Form technique down to make more of me!"

There were five Stevens in the kitchen cooking on the food as Connie was dreamily thinking of the perverted uses of making more of yourself.

"That's great…I'm glad you're managing fine…on your own." Pearl said trying not to sound good. "Well, I should go."

Pearl hung up as Connie's phone rang to which she answered.

"Mom? Oh…school was canceled and I'm…with a friend. Yes…with Steven. Lunch? He's cooking a storm up for me." Connie said with a laugh. "Red pea soup, mom."

Steven meticulously cooked each dish to completion. The last thing was mixing the Rum Punch in one. By the time, he was done…he had salivating girls wanting a bowl.

"I gotta go…food's ready." Connie said about to hang up. "What do you mean you want us to bring you a bowl? I mean yes…Steven can fly, but…ok, I'll ask him."

"Tell her I'll do it after we eat." Steven said putting out bowls for everyone.

Steven was glad he could materialize a container for Priyanka. He definitely was not sharing the Rum Punch which he shoved in the fridge. He had plans for that later as he served everyone their food. One of the Steven clones got the drops out of the oven. With all the tasks done, the clones faded out of existence. Out on the sea, Amethyst stomach growled only to get chastised by Pearl in having hunger. Spinel practically wolved down the food drinking the whole thing before taking a soda to wash it all down before belching loudly.

"That's some good food." Spinel said snagging a coconut drop before shoving it down. "Earth food is so goooooddd."

"So do all Gems look like her?" Connie asked.

"No, they vary but they're all women. It's a horny person's wet dream." Steven said dryly before as he finished his meal and went for the drops. "Well unless you were a gay man."

"That must be fun for you being the exception." Connie snarked being the last eat.

"Oh definitely." Steven snarked right back. "Either way, we need to get ready to fly out."

"Ugh, and my mom wants me to stay with her at the hospital. Please hurry and teach me how to fly." Connie said annoyed.

Steven had a thought and lain a hand on Connie's head before using his warper energy to transfer something into Connie. The dazed Connie asked for an explanation as Steven asked her to try to float. Connie got up and found herself to do so…easily.

"I simply transferred knowledge of how to do." Steven said covering the fact that he had altered her to make her adept at it. "So, ready for the first lesson?"

"Steven, I could just kiss you right now." Connie said coming down onto her feet.

"Save it for later. We should get going." Steven said getting the go plate for Priyanka with her soup and drops. "Spinel, don't eat the rest drops."

Spinel looked at those teasing drops and run out of the door deciding to make herself scarce for a while to resist leaving Steven and Connie to make the flight. To say it was funny to see Priyanka spit out her coffee was an understatement as the two flown over and landed right in the parking lot. Priyanka wordlessly took the food before Steven bid her and Connie goodbye before flying back home.

"What happened to normalcy?" Priyanka asked.

"Isn't normalcy overrated?" Connie asked as Priyanka stood her head.

Priyanka did enjoy her lunch but seeing her daughter clearly fancy Steven left a rather haunted thought. Priyanka did not need to give Connie the talk as that was something already done. No, what Priyanka had a feeling what was going to happen was her daughter was going to make the first move.

"Connie, why do you have to be like me at that age?" Priyanka thought.

(A/N: Originally, I planned a Steven/Connie lemon while they were training, but I backed off as I did establish Steven to value Connie's friendship. Not to say a lemon won't happen, just not yet. Besides, I felt that Connie should be a bit later down the line.)
