Jacob stretched as he made his way out onto the streets.

"Remind me never to sleep in that dump again," he groaned.

"Stop whining," Evie sighed heavily as she flicked through a notebook held in her hand.

"Well, what's what?" he asked, looking down at the upside down book. "What words of wisdom did father leave for us?"

"You could try growing up," Evie snapped harshly, not even bothering to look up from the book.

"What am I, if not grown up already?" he joked.

She snapped the notebook closed and slipped it inside her coat pocket.

"Frederick Abberline," she told him.

"Huh?" he answered as ignorantly as possible to annoy her more.

"A police officer," she replied calmly.

"Inspector!" someone interrupted, sounding rather insulted.

Evie turned around to see a man now closing the gap between them.

"I didn't think I'd see any more of your kind. Took me by surprise actually," the man went on. "So, you're his children."

"Evie Frye and my brother..."

"Jacob," Frederick finished, looking to the younger twin. "Yes, your father told me a great deal about you two."

"That doesn't sound good," Jacob sighed. "Father liked to exaggerate."

Evie elbowed him in the gut, making him groan loudly and hold a hand to his abdomen.

"He actually spoke highly of you both."

Jacob actually looked taken aback as Evie looked to him with a smug smile.

"Alright, enough, what you got for us." Jacob changed the subject, quickly recovering from the blow.

"I have a few bounties I wish for you to collect."

"Let's get started then shall we," Jacob smirked.

"Wait just a minute," Frederick stopped him. "I need you to be discreet."

"You hear this, Evie." Jacob sighed playfully.

Evie gave him a small smile.

"That will eventually draw out Rexford Kaylock," Frederick went on.

"Who's Kaylock?" Jacob asked.

"The one that has complete control over Whitechapel," Frederick informed him.

"Get rid of him and you get Whitechapel back, got it."

"Just try not to do anything..."

"See you later, Freddy." Jacob turned and ran off.

"We know what we're doing," Evie added, following on after her twin.

"It's Frederick! Ah, Just meet me at the bridge. I'll have a carriage waiting," he looked around at the people staring at him, wondering who he was talking to. "Well, I should be on my way."

"Doesn't know who he's talking to," Jacob sighed as he climbed a wall nearest their target.

"Father probably told him all about your heroic deeds," Evie teased.

"What can I say I'm good at what I do," he chuckled.

"If only," she sighed.

"Well, dear sister of mine," he smirked as he turned back to her. "Watch how a professional deal s with things."

Evie walked over to the edge of the building Jacob had currently been and sat herself down, legs dangling off the side as she watched her brother delicately slip through the crowd, passing a few clueless Blighters along the way.

After a few convincing words to the man that was twice the size of the Assassin, Jacob managed to quietly get him into a carriage, which by now Evie was dropping onto the roof of.

"Quiet," she warned the Templar as she slipped inside as the carriage moved off.

The Templar looked quiet smug with himself to say he had a blade pointed right at him.

"You poor bloody fools," he chuckled with a shake of his head. "I'm only a speck compared to what Mister Starrick has all over London."

"Soon all the specks will be gone from here, don't you worry." She sternly warned him.

"I'll be sat in prison for a few days or so, no more." He lounged back in his seat happily.

"Then if so you'll meet either mine or his blade," she indicated to her brother, who was now softly cooing the horses.

"Wouldn't count on it, love." The Templar shook his head, looking way too smug. "You'll never get to Starrick. You'll have your arse handed to you first."

"Oh, I don't think so." Jacob was now heard. "We do the arse handing here."

"You're confident, I'll give you that."

"Anymore words of wisdom before you go?" Jacob asked as he slowed the horses to a stop. "Easy girls."

"Yeah, don't get killed too early. I want the pleasure of killing you both myself." He chuckled again as Evie pushed him out the carriage.

"No screaming, people running, that's a good sign. All went well?" Freddy asked hopeful.

"We have him don't we?" Jacob frowned.

"I just don't want them after me," Freddy warned.

"Who?" Evie asked.

"Those gang members... The Blinders...no...Blight..."

"Blighters," Jacob sighed.

"Yes, the very ones. There used to be a rival gang named the Clinkers, but I've not seen any gangs wearing green coats in some time now. Perhaps the Blighters took them all out, pity."

"Rival gang, might be just what we need." Jacob smiled brightly.

Evie rolled her eyes. "No, Jacob."

"Ah, come on, Evie. I had the perfect name for them too. Wait for it..."

Evie raised her hands in mock suspense.

"The Rooks," he finally finished.

"You were never any good at chess," she scolded him.

"No. No, not chess, more like..." he looked up as a black bird flew overhead. "Birds."

Abberline shook his head having listened to the pair long enough. "I should be on my way," he informed them.

Evie crossed her arms and nodded, Jacob paid him no mind as he carried on pestering his sister.

"Jacob!" she snapped.

"What?"

"Pub," she pointed.

"Hold on a minute, you said..."

"I know what I said," she smirked as she stepped inside the warm establishment. "We can talk over your big plans."

Jacob pat her on the back. "This...This is the Evie I know and love."

Phillip stretched and pulled himself from the small bed, finding the other empty.

"Lily," he frowned.

He stood to head over to the opposite side of the room, his boot crunching something underfoot.

"What the..." he thought as he looked down at the broken mirror shards, with bloody bandages lying beside them.

He looked to the door, but the bolt was still across. Turning his attention to the window, he wasn't surprised to see it open a little.

"You never were a caged bird," he sighed as he followed her tracks through the window. "You can't have gotten far, thankfully."

He was right, she hadn't got far, simply perched on the roof edge with her hood over her head.

"Lily," he called out to her.

She ignored him, even as he walked over and sat beside her.

"I see you took the bandages from your face."

"Yes," she admitted, there was no point not saying otherwise.

"And the mirror?" he pressed, seeing her tugging at the bandage around her broken fingers and hand from the throwing knife incident, fresh cuts upon her knuckles on her left hand indicated that she'd obviously used it smash the mirror with.

She shrugged. "I didn't want to see what a fuck up I'd become."

"That's in the past, now."

She turned to him, though he couldn't see her fierce scowl under her dark hood.

"What else is hidden from me?" she snapped. "Can I even trust you for that matter?"

"Lily," he softly called as she stood and dropped to the balcony below to then bolt over to drop to the floor.

He quickly stood to take chase, knowing if she were to get caught she'd have no chance in her current state.

"Think Kaylock knows we're here, yet?" Jacob asked as he stepped from the pub to come face to face with a group of men and women wearing red coats. "Ah, brilliant, I think he knows."

"We heard what you did with Dalton," one glared, punching his palm. "We're here on his behalf."

"Very well," Jacob sighed. "Let's resolve this."

Taking on one Assassin may have been a challenge, but when one has backup then there's just no point trying. The Blighters stood no chance, but yet they pushed their luck and unfortunately for them, they all now lay groaning in pain. People hurried away, not wanting to get themselves caught in any of their business. Save for the officers now turning to head over.

"Jacob," Evie tapped her brother's arm.

He turned to see the oncoming cops and took off after his sister, who quickly scaled the nearest wall. The sound of a whistle was heard and the shouts of the annoyed men that had lost track of them.

"Search out!"

"That way leads to a dead end, there's no way they climbed that."

"Well they can't have just disappeared."

Jacob looked down on them with a smirk, while his twin had taken to moving over the roof to now stand on the edge. She turned to her brother, giving a whistle and he joined her immediately.

"Found something?" he asked, looking out at what looked to be a stronghold.

"There's your Clinkers," she pointed down at the captives.

"We haven't thought what to do with you yet," one of the Blighters were heard taunting the three Clinkers.

"Found another," someone else shouted as they pushed a woman into the clearing so hard she stumbled and hit the ground.

"Get over there with the others," another snarled as he kicked her in the gut. "I said get up!"

A brute of a man walked over, grabbed hold of her arm and dragged her over to the rest with ease.

"I'm really gonna miss you when we wipe you all out," a skinny man sighed as he ran his blade over a Clinkers chest lightly before drawing back his arm to strike.

The Clinker closed his eyes in preparation of the blade striking his flesh, but it never came. The Blighter simply dropped to his knees and fell backwards, the cause of it being a well aimed throwing knife to the head.

"What the fuck!" one of the Blighters screamed.

"Assassin's!" another yelled. "Ring the alarm!"

"Jacob," Evie warned.

"Already on it," he told her while dropping on the one running.

"Come out you fucking cowards!" a woman yelled to the rooftops.

"That's a little harsh don't you think, love?" Jacob smirked as soon as he saw her shocked expression.

She ran at him, slicing the air with her dagger as the Assassin dodged to hit her right in the face. The dagger slipped from her hand as her hands came up to cover her nose which was bleeding heavily. She shook the pain off and lunged at Jacob with her bare blood soaked hands, only to get slammed harshly to the floor, where she now decided to give up.

The Assassin was on to his next victim anyway, slamming someone else's head into the fencing after which he slipped to the floor unconscious.

"Closer, you maggot." A woman above him smiled, waiting for the right opportunity to pull the trigger.

Once she was sure of her shot she pulled the trigger, at that same moment in time she felt something force its way through her back, a sharp object that could only be a knife or in this case a hidden blade. Evie frowned as she looked down on her twin, who unfortunately was the one on the receiving end of the bullet.

"Jacob!" she called down to him.

He raised his arm and gave a nod to indicate he was alright, the bullet had fortunately skimmed his side. Evie sighed in relief then dropped onto the Blighters that were about to end the Clinkers.

"Thanks so much," one smiled at her.

She nodded, looked up to see her twin deal the final blow to the last Blighter before releasing her hidden blade to cut the Clinkers free.

"Much appreciated, Miss."

Evie headed over to her twin, who was now inspecting the groaning Blighters.

"Listen up!" he announced. "You've all got a choice to make, join us 'The Rooks' or die by our hands. Your choice."

"What makes you think you'll win this?" a woman spat blood from her mouth.

"We can and we will," Jacob smiled broadly. "We're Assassin's."

"You call yourselves Assassin's," another laughed. "But what can the two of you achieve?"

"We took over your stronghold, didn't we?" he asked. "That's how we'll take back London."

"You'll never take Crawford Starrick down, Assassin!"

"No, that's why I've got my sister." He snorted in amusement.

Evie stood beside him, arms crossed as they waited for the Blighters to make up their minds.

"Well, join or die?"

"I'd rather fucking die!" an experience looking man spat at them.

"Evie," Jacob gestured.

His twin nodded and stepped forward, punched the man in the face, activated her hidden blade and sliced the man's throat wide open. He dropped to the floor, clutching his throat until finally succumbing to blood loss.

"Bastards!" another spat, turning to see one of his subordinates standing and heading over while slipping free of his red coat.

"If I die, I'll die on the right side." He announced.

Jacob walked over to him, tapping him on the shoulder. "Good choice."

One by one more started to climb to their feet, ditch the red coat and don a green one.

Jacob climbed onto a broken carriage in the clearing, whistling loudly to grab the Rooks attention. "Ladies and gentlemen, we are Jacob and Evie Frye," he gestured down at his twin. "And as of this day you all work for us."

The gang now cheered as Jacob dropped down.

"Welcome to the Rooks!" he smiled.

"We're pleased to be on the same side of you both," a man in a flat cap smiled, he'd been one of the original Clinkers. "Look forward to working with you, sir. I mean, Mr Frye."

Jacob gave the man a pat on the back before following his sister to their next location.

"As soon as we get this gang und..." He was abruptly cut short what with a hooded woman running right into him.

"Idiot!" she cursed as she quickly recovered to run on.

"Evie," he turned to watch her run off. "Was she..."

Evie nodded. "Quickly, after her!"
