Chapter 25
(Scott's point a view)
Once I got Lisa into the sickbay, we waited on Jo and Tin-Tin coming down. I just hope that its nothing bad because I don't know how we are going to react to the news. Once Tin-Tin and Jo arrived they asked me to leave but I didn't want to leave her.
"Scott, we need to check Lisa out here and we need you to leave, one of us will come and get you once we get Lisa settled." Said Jo with a hand on my shoulder.
"I just don't want to leave until I know what is going on."
"Scott please just go and leave both Jo and Tin-Tin to do their jobs, I just need the space right now so I will speak to you later."
"Okay I will go and see Virgil, please just give me a call when you are both done here. I am really worried now." I said while leaving to walk up to the round house to see Virgil, if I am worried then I know that Virgil will pick it up as soon as I walk in to see him.
"Hey Scott, is Lisa okay?"
"I don't know Virgil; I was just speaking to Lisa in the kitchen when she just took cramps and said that she needed the bathroom. I'm scared that it's a miscarriage, what if it is then how can I support Lisa through this? After what happened with Dad in the lounge, I'm not sure if she wants to be with me."
"Did you get a chance to speak to Lisa?"
"I tried to, but she ended up in the sickbay, you know I didn't think that I would fall in love again after Rebecca. Now that I have, I'm not letting go of Lisa now."
"Scott we could see that you were falling for Lisa because we have seen it happen. I know that she loves you bro. Scott you have a 2nd chance with both LeAnne and Lisa and that won't happen very often."
"How did you support Jo when she had hers a couple of years ago?"
"It was hard but I was there to hold her so she could let it out. It took us two years to try again but here we are with our babies who are doing well. Are you still going to ask Lisa to marry you now?"
"Yes Virgil, I don't care who Lisa is related to because I love her. It took me this long to find love again and I don't want to let her go now."
"Okay Scott, I just got a message from Jo to say that I am needed in the sickbay. Why don't you go and see Dad while I help deal with this? I know its hard Scott but you both can pull this."
"Virgil I really don't want to leave Lisa not when she is like this, I don't want her thinking that I don't care its going to look as if I am running away now."
"Scott somehow I don't think that Lisa will think that. She cares too much about you to let you go. And she knows that you are and that is what is important right now." I said while I made my way into the sickbay. I walked in to see Jo coming over to me.
"Virgil, I think Lisa has had a miscarriage, she has been bleeding a lot and is still getting cramps. We have given her something for the pain and she is resting now. I am a bit worried about her because she told Tin-Tin that she still wanted her to fly her back home. To be honest I don't think it's a great idea, Lisa needs the support now."
"I know Scott just spoke to me not so long ago, he is scared that he is going to lose Lisa over what Dad has found out."
"We just have to try and talk Lisa into staying for at least 48 hours till we see how she is doing; Virgil I know that she loves Scott and that she cares about him deeply. Do you think that Scott will go after Lisa if she does decide to leave?"
"I think he will Jo, I just don't want this to end for Scott now. It took him a long time to get where he is now, and he is happy." I said while checking on Lisa, just then Gordon comes running in to see us.
"Gordy what's wrong?"
"Virgil you need to get up to the lounge now, Scott is having it out with Dad big time. He told Dad if he didn't give Lisa another chance then he will hand his notice in for IR. I don't want this kicking off up there."
"Okay Gordon, I will go up and see what is going on. Jo can you stay here and talk to Lisa? See if she will talk to you about what is gong on in her head. Whatever is going on I am sure that you can get through to her."
"That's fine Virgil and good luck with your Dad and Scott up there." Said Jo who gave me a kiss and hug before I left. Once I got up to the lounge, I could see that my older brother was laying into Dad.
"How dare you do this to me Dad, you do know because of all this that I could lose Lisa now? She could walk away now because of all this."
"Hold on Scott, I had to check Lisa out you know all this. If I am going to take her on as an agent, then I need to get her checked. You and Virgil know this."
"Dad we know that but why couldn't you just trust us?"
"I do trust you boys all of you, I just did it to reassure myself and to keep myself right."
"Its not the point Dad, we had told you to ring Penny and ask her about Lisa. Yes, she would have backed us up here. Believe me Dad if I lose Lisa then you will lose me. It took me long enough to get my relationship going with Lisa and I am not letting her go now. If I must choose between IR and Lisa well it would be Lisa. I am sorry Dad, but I won't carry on with IR until you apologize to her."
"After all Dad she came here to help us out with our babies and to see Scott, Lisa has got us through a lot the past few months. We still need her help, look how well she done with Robyn in the sickbay."
"Okay I get both your points, I will speak to her later after dinner."
(In Jo's Point of View)
Now that Virgil and Scott had gone, I decided to have a chat with Lisa to see what was going on with her. So, I walked over to the bed and sat down beside her and took her hand in mine.
"I'm sorry Jo, I don't want to stay here I just."
"It's okay Lisa, you have nothing to be ashamed off. I know that Scott loves you and he wouldn't do anything to hurt you. Yes, you just had a miscarriage, but you will be supported through that I promise."
"I don't know Jo, if I am honest Scott has been the longest relationship that I have ever held onto. I just don't want to lose him now Jo."
"Do you still want to leave? If you do then leave it for about 48 hours so we know how you are doing. That will give you time to speak to Scott and sort this out, Lisa there is no reason why you both can't work this out. You both love each other so hold onto that." I said while pulling my best friend into a hug.
"Jo I will hang onto Scott, but I just need to get back home for a few days. Scott is always welcome to fly over with us, you are right we need to talk. Do you mind going and getting Scott for me? If I want to leave then I need to speak to him, I can't leave it the way it is."
"Sure, just give me a call if you need anything, I need to go back up to the round house now. Virgil is on the phone to a hospital to see if we can get Rebecca checked out for her hearing."
"That's good that you are getting it sorted now, I still can't believe that your babies are going to be six months old soon. How are they doing now?"
"Now that we are bottle feeding with my milk, we are falling into a nice routine with everything. Robyn is doing a lot better now because Scott took her for a couple of hours to tell her how he felt about becoming a big brother. That has helped us a lot." I explained to Lisa.
"When Rebecca goes to get her hearing aids fitted, why don't you take Robyn with you to help out there? I know that she would love that. Let her have some bonding time on her own with Joshua and Scotty too that might help." Said Lisa.
"Well let me go and have a quick chat with Tin-Tin then I will go and get Scott. We needed this chat, didn't we?" I said while walking over to the sickbay office.
"Hey Jo, is everything okay?"
"Yes, I have managed to talk her into staying for the next 48 hours till we see how she is. She also wants to talk to Scott now. Lisa doesn't want to leave things the way they are if she decides to leave. At least Lisa is willing to talk to Scott."
"I agree with you there Jo, they are well suited together. It would be a shame for them to end it now." Said Tin-Tin.
"I know Tin-Tin, look I have to go Virgil is on the phone to the hospital about Rebecca."
"Is everything okay with Rebecca?"
"We are just making an appointment for Rebecca to get her hearing checked, she may need hearing aids to help her."
"How old are your babies now?"
"Nearly six months old now, I just need to go and get Scott now. Hopefully, they will both work this out between them because I don't want to see Lisa getting hurt. Just then Scott walks into the sickbay as I leave. I know once they had this talk then everything will be fine.
