Chapter 28

(In Virgil's Point A View)

It didn't take us long to arrive back on the mainland, we had dropped Lisa off home then decided to pop in on Mum while we were over for a couple of days. I think that she saw us getting out of the car so she came over to us.

"Hey you two, I didn't know that you were coming over, is everything okay?"

"We have an appointment for Rebecca tomorrow to get her hearing checked. So we are just over for 24 hours."

"When did you find out about her hearing not being right?"

"It's been a few weeks now, we noticed that she wasn't reacting to any sound or that she doesn't cry at the same time Joshua and Scotty do." Explained Jo while lifting Rebecca out of the car.

"Speaking of which where are my two Grandsons?"

"They are back on the island safe with the others, we brought Robyn with us because she has a very important job to do with Rebecca." While Robyn got out of the car and ran into Mum's arms.

"Hey Nanny Lucy, I have missed you."

"Missed you too Robyn, why don't you run in and see Auntie Holly and Laura while I speak to your parents a sec and give them a hand with your things?" When Robyn went in Mum turned to us with a smile on her face.

"How would you two like a date night? I can look after both Robyn and Rebecca for you both."

"You sure about this? We have only just arrived."

"Yes, you both need some time to yourselves and I bet it's overdue." Said Mum as we made our way into the house, we walked into the kitchen and Laura was sitting at the table doing her school work. I already could tell that she is taking after John here.

"Oh, hey Virgil and Jo."

"Hey do you want to hold Rebecca?" asked Jo as she placed our baby daughter into her arms.

"Where are the other two?"

"On the island with Dad and the others, we just have to go to the hospital with Rebecca tomorrow." Just then Mum handed me some money.

"Just go out and enjoy yourselves tonight on me, both Robyn and Rebecca will be fine with us."

"Okay Mum, we may as well, wow when did you buy these high chairs?" I asked while eyeing them up still in the boxes.

"I just got them a couple of days ago, once the babies hit six months then I am sure that you will be spoon feeding them. How old are they now?"

"They have just hit five and a half months now; it doesn't seem that long ago that I gave birth to the three of them." Said Jo while handing Rebecca over to Mum so that she could go and get ready for going out tonight. So, we had left both girls with Mum and decided to go for some dinner. We walked into a lovely restaurant; we had just got seated when Jo noticed someone that she knew.

"I don't believe it, when did she get out?"

"Who?"

"My foster Mother, she is working here and by the looks of it she is heading our way."

"Well look who I have the pleasure of servicing tonight, the girl who put us away for making up stories about us when we did everything for her. So, what can I get you both tonight?"

"We will just have two coffees while we wait on our food to arrive thanks." Said Jo with a smile, by the looks that we were getting we just wouldn't trust her now.

"Fine by me."

"Good job on just ordering the coffees, I still don't trust her and this way we will know if she has put anything into our drinks." I said while taking my wife's hand in mine. While we were waiting on our food. We couldn't believe that she was working here, it's like she doesn't care who she damages and just gets away with it. Just then she comes with our food.

"Here you go and enjoy, I don't ever want to see your faces in here again because my husband took his own life inside. So, my life is working here and I can't foster anymore because of this. You both done the damage and you are going to pay."

"Is it any wonder you are a complete mess? You had the cheek to watch my wife get raped by your husband and didn't do anything about it plus you videoed it. How the hell did you get this job? Let me see you completely lied your way through the interview, oh don't worry before we leave here, we will be having a word with management because people like you should not be working here dealing with customers."

"Virgil please let's just eat our dinner and get out of here, it doesn't matter what we do because she isn't going to care ether way." Said Jo we noticed that she had walked away and back to her job.

"Jo are you okay?"

"Do I look it Virgil? I thought that they got more then 15 years. Now this makes me want to stay back on the island full time away from her. What if she tries something? When she knows that we are about."

"Jo we are going to be just fine, if anything does happen then we can call the police and report her again." I said while taking Jo's hand again, just then the manager walks over to us.

"Hey my name is Piper and I am the manager, my employee said that you would like a word?"

"Yes, you do know that you have employed a lady that watched my wife get raped and she was put inside for at least 15 years?"

"I'm sorry I didn't know about that, when we interviewed her, she had told us that she worked for charities. Honestly if I had of knowing we wouldn't have taking her on. How was her service?"

"Oh, she was rude to us and told not to show our face in here again, we just came here for a meal and to enjoy our night out." Said Jo.

"Okay I will give you both 50% off your meals and a bottle of wine on us, if I am honest, I would usually do a back ground check but I really needed someone."

"Well, if you look her up from the papers from 15 years ago then you will see what happened. It was all over the papers. I was just 14 years old when it happened." Said Jo.

"No problem I will look it up, sorry about the service that you got. Hope that you both enjoy your meals." Said the owner who walked away. So, we had our meal and made our way back to see Mum. We walked into to find her feeding Rebecca for us.

"Well did you two enjoy your evening?"

"We did thanks but ran into a problem but we got it sorted in the end, how have Robyn and Rebecca doing?"

"They have both been fine, Robyn is very excited about tomorrow. Could you both give Alan a call he says that both Joshua and Scotty haven't stopped crying since you both have left?"

"No worries Mum, Virgil Tracy calling Alan Tracy come in bro."

"Hey both your sons are crying and we can't get them to stop any ideas what could be wrong?"

"Okay Alan have you still got the two of them?"

"Dad and Grandma have Joshua and we still have Scotty."

"Alan tell Dad and Grandma to check for teething. If that is the problem that then there is gel in the fridge for it. The other thing could be colic just take the babies down to the beach and walk up and down with them. It should sort itself out. If it doesn't give me a call back and we will sort something out."

"I will ring you back if there are any more problems but hopefully its sorted now, speak to you soon Alan Tracy out."

"Speak to you soon Alan and thanks again." I said hanging up we had some hot drinks with Mum before we headed up the stairs for bed. We checked in on Robyn who was fast asleep then got Rebecca back down for the night. We got ourselves ready for bed, tomorrow is going to be a busy and emotional day for us all and we needed the rest.
