Day of the Dead – Hollywood Undead
This is exactly what has to be done, it happened so gradually
It's like I magically happened to be the phantom that cannot be
Lets this dagger cut jaggedly
While you're gasping so rapidly
While you gag on this rag
I see you all laughing so happily
It's okay to get startled and be afraid of the dark
I'll just wait here to swallow your soul and tear you apart
And I've already started, there ain't no saving your heart
This is the day of the dead, this is ain't no day in the park
Here I come, here I come, grab your guns and crossbows
And run, better run from the skull and crossbones
The fun has begun, yeah, it's hard to swallow
When I'm done, I ain't done, 'cause it's hell that follows
Now get ready for sorrow,
'Cause it's hell that follows
Hold on, Holy Ghost
Go on, hold me close
Better run, here we come
It's the day of the dead
Hold on, Holy Ghost
So long to the ones you know
Better run, here we come
It's the day of the dead
Ten Vorns later
Battles were everywhere. There was no escaping it as shots rained down all around and explosion from bombs being dropped by Seekers. Shouts of agony were heard from every direction that it echoed in audios. Being a medical personal, Siren was one of many on the backlines of the fighting. Bots came and went. Some having to be dragged to the backline, others stumbled themselves to a medic crying out for Primus' help. Energon was thick in the air as medic bots rushed to and forth between mechs and femme alike that fought.
"Siren! I need you to clamp this shut!" First Aid shouted from several feet away.
Siren finished the patch she had been welding onto a large femme seeker before racing over to her friend. Subspacing a clamp she worked with the mech to stop the fuel line from leaking more of the lifeblood. They were just thankful the mech they were working on was out as First Aid quickly start to weld on the spark chamber to close the crack that was there.
"Thanks Siren, I can handle the rest from here." With a confirmed nod the vixen bounded away only to skid to a stop when First Aid screamed out in pain.
Turning felt like time had slowed for Siren as her optics took in the mech arching backwards from the sudden pain hitting him. One servo was lifted somewhat letting the welding tool he had been using fly out form his grip. Several more flashes of tiny lights came before they hit the mech in the back inflicting even more wounds to start leaking energon. Amber optic zoomed to the thing that had done the damage from behind First Aid.
The cybercat had no protective plating as it should have. Along its back it had a gruesome attachment of a gun that was shooting off rounds at any bot, whether Decepticon or Autobot, that could be hit by them. Wires were bare showing the welding job done to the creature that held the gun mounted to its back. It ran around yowling out as it ran past the bots in that area. Some getting hit by its stray bullets while other remained unharmed by the chaos the cat was providing.
She could feel her vent hitch up in her shock before looking back to the hurt bot and dashing to the fallen red and white mech she had come to love. A whine ripped through her vocal once she neared him trying to get a response, but nothing came. No movement, no groans of pain, NOTHING. Fear zipped into her spark as she went to work trying to take bullets out while scanning him to see what vitals were hit.
Please! Please, don't leave me. Not again. Please don't let her lose another.
"Siren!" She glanced up to find Remedy skidding to his knee struts to help the vixen. His optic picked up the shacking of her prosthetics and the jerky way she moved to find all of the wounds after having turned First Aid over. Remedy took a quick scan of his friend finding the bullets having only glanced the T-cog. "Siren, he'll be fine. Just calm down!"
Siren didn't hear the mech even when he forced her away from the mech with a gentle push. Her processor too locked on with what she had witnessed. What did break through to her foggy processor was the yowling of the cybercat. Having made its way back around heading towards the thick of the fighting. The fear that had taken over the vixen morphed into anger letting a snarling growl leave her jaw. Remedy, surprised by the vicious turn of the vixen, released his hold on her before giving a shout of shock when Siren bolted off after the cybercat.
Thuds of speeding pedesteps were drowned out from the battles that rage around the two. The frames of beastly figures racing through it all. With nibble pedes the figures dodged bots from both sides, with Siren narrowly missing a huge broadsword smacking right into her left side. Her focus was not the bots she was having to dodge, but of the deformed frame of a cybercat. Even while not having been in top form of racing turbofox since her career, plus with a heavier weight of frame, Siren was gaining ground on the cat.
A shriek ripped through her vocal as a bullet slammed into her right optic blinding that side for her. Stumbling in her stride Siren could see the cybercat take what ground she had gained leaving the vixen behind. Shaking away the pain and feel of energon leaking she pushed through it to continue her pursuit fueled by anger towards the cat. This cybercat was not going to survive the lunar cycle of this battle. Not after it shot and brought down First Aid.
She was only thankful Remedy was nearby to take First Aid out of the battlefield. All she knew was it had to die, and it would die at her fangs. Siren was seeing red, and no loss of an optic would deter her from achieving that goal either.
Using audial and scent to weave around bots she began to gain the ground she had lost. With the last few feet between them, Siren hunched up her hind pedes and launched into the air. A growling screech rolled out of her as she slammed into the cybercats frame. The cat squealed in surprised as the two rolled several times over each other from the momentum. Jaws snapped, claws ripped into plating, and energon poured out from wounds.
Both quickly got onto pedes once they had come to a stop. Slowly they circled each other with Siren lowering her helm and giving a deep growl as the cat shrieked out. Maroon plating flared out in its challenge and to make herself seem larger than before as her only optic stayed trained on the cybercat's own deranged looking optics. Whatever had been done to this cat had broken its will and spirit. It was now only a created weapon.
Being done with waiting, Siren took the lunge at the cat raking claws at its muzzle and snapping her fangs into the side of its left neck just under the jaw joint of the beast. In turn she could feel the car rain down its own claws along her plating. Unlike the cybercat, she had armor, and so she jerked her frame back and forth causing the cat to become unsteady on its pedes. Within kliks, prosthetic arms shot out from their holding and slammed into the cat's frame shoving it to its side.
Growls and screeches turned to yelps as Siren tore into the cat's frame with her extra arms. The gun that had been attach horribly to the cybercat went flying into the air with a louder squeal of pain. She didn't stop there when she tugged hard at a hind leg strut until it broke from the frame. Griping the cats frame in her arms Siren flung it high into the air. The cat yelped out twisting madly before smashing down onto the metal ground.
Helm low, Siren leisurely make her way to the struggling cybercat with a missing leg and energon pouring out of fuel lines there. Even with the deranged look held within its optics, fear was now taking over it. You shot at the wrong bot, cybercat. No one messes with friends I hold dear.
Siren raised her helm when she reached the cat, looking down at her prey with prosthetics waving lazily in the air around her. For that, you die. A klik later, the arms shot forward impaling into the cybercat at forces that ripped into the damaged frame effectively ending the life it had. She stood there frozen for a time, but how long that was she would never truly know.
It was just after the prosthetics disappeared back into the holdings did she feel as if somebot was watching her. Quickly scanning the area of bots that were left, many being that of Autobots, till her one optic landed on a mech she would never have thought to see again. In the distance stood the figure of a mech she had once held dear to her spark. No longer were his optics a blue glow but of a blood red glow.
With a tilt of his helm and a smirk, the mech turned away and left the field just as victory cries were ringing out all over. Her optic stay glued to the spot the mech had stood there before she was nudged. Turning her helm she found First Aid standing next to her glancing down at the gray frame of the cybercat. He then glanced all around them at the many gray frames that littered the ground. Once his gaze landed back to her he then took in the claw marks within her plating.
Siren should have been glad, pleased to have gotten rid of the cat but all she felt was hallow about it. Her processor was clearing the haze away that had taken root and she could now think about what had happened. She had killed a beast in revenge of what it had done to First Aid. Chasing after the cybercat instead of staying at his side like she should have.
Medic. That was what she was. No harm was to come to those that sought her help in healing. She had taken an oath to do no harm but this cycle she had broken it. All because she had been lost to the battle haze. The bloodlust. Whatever you called it; Siren lost herself to its will. Looking at the frame she backed up in horror.
"Siren! Wait!" First Aid shouted quickly gripping her frame to his before she could bolt. She wiggled to get free but the mech held strong not budging. "Stop Siren, it's over. It's done." At his words, the vixen slumped into his frame wishing for once to have the ability to cry and speak aloud. First Aid moved a servo to smooth out her maroon plating letting her take the time she needed to gather herself back. Siren nudged into his chest letting the mech know she was okay now after the few breems that past by them. Getting up the two gave a glance to each other before joining in on finding bots that needed attention.
The cycles past quickly for everybot as many were relieved to take recharge before the next big hit came. Siren was laying down on the berth finding recharge was not coming to her. The war had begun to take a turn for the worst with Decepticons gain more and more ground. So much that talk of evacuations were beginning to make their way around the ranks.
A finial perked at the sound of the apartment door being opened then shut. Familiar pedesteps made their way to the berthroom before stopping just at the doorway. Siren looked up, with only one optic, at the mech that stood there taking in the fact he had removed the visor and plate. His blue optics roamed over her frame glancing minutely at the silver patch that covered the missing optic as she got up to move to the mech. "You should be in recharge."
Siren only gave the mech a snort as she tossed her helm in slight annoyance turning around to climb back on the berth. Once she laid down she tilted her helm at the mech in question. Having known the vixen for so long First Aid could read her little quirks to some degree. With a roll of his optics he moved closer to sit on the edge letting his servos lay on his knee struts. When a sigh left the mech it made the vixen study her friend. He sat ridged enough that Siren shifted to get a better look of the mech than just the profile that she could see of him.
First Aid caught the shift as he turned to Siren. "Things are changing so fast. I'm not sure I am ready."
Ready for what?
The confused gleam of her optic gave First Aid the begrudging feeling of having to speak of what will come soon. She was already without the use of an optic. Air rushed out softly from his vents as he prepared himself. "I…I was given orders to be transferred to Delphi on Messatine." An amber optic widened at those words making her whole frame freeze. "I'll be within the next couple of vorns yet before I leave for Delphi as many are still needed here."
Siren quickly subspace her datapad to type up her question using her extra arms. What of Remedy? Ratchet? Were they being given transfer orders too?
"No, as far as I know, I was the only one given them." He answered. "For now, I wont dwell on it. It'll still be a while before I have to leave." He turned to look at her with a soft smile. "We'll work it out. We spent so much time as roommates I doubt we'll be separated for long."
She huffed at that, the ever-optimistic mech. Does that mean I might get transferred?
First Aid gave an unsure shrug. "The war has left many unsure of their future. Some without a future to look forwa-" He was then cut off from speaking as a message come forth. ::First Aid, Siren, you're needed at the med bay stat. Inbound shuttle full in twelve breems.::
He glanced to the vixen. "Looks like we're needed now."
Purest of the Hearts – Aww that really means a lot to me. For the longest time I was thinking that if I did finally put a chapter up would this story still hold something after being without an update for so long.
Wolf girl811 – hmm, good question. I'm not really sure with the scouting bit but changes are going to be happening soon. Changes that might be a surprise to hopefully to my readers.
I want to thank Fizx, Lylesa, bluewolf112, Brecken RainCaller and Christoffer Mrch for the Follow and Favorite!
