Don't ever want to see things change
'Cause when I'm living on my own
I'll wanna take it back and start again
Most nights I pray for you to come home

Five Orns later

First Aid was cleaning tools since the cycle seemed to have been slow. Lately, that was becoming few and far in between now. Every now and then he would be sent to an area of heavy battle to relieve one of the frontline medics of duty so bots could have fresh servos to help patch them up. It was also because of those trips he found himself too close to become injured himself. When Siren went, he found himself worried that it could be that last time he would see is good friend. It went both ways when he was sent that the two of them made time to relax as much as any bot could right now and just enjoy each other's company. Company that extended to Remedy, Wheeljack, and Nebula when she could spare the time from piloting.

Only, this last time when she had been sent, Siren had come back in critical condition. His visor glanced to the prone form of the crimson turbofox that had been hooked up. When Siren had been brought in her plating had been melted on her left side from a blast that had hit the medic tent. Her tail had been ripped fully from her frame along with her left back pede up to the knee strut.

Ratchet worked tirelessly to remove every piece of shrapnel that had embedded into her frame and internals. One having been removed with utmost care from her sparkcase. Since then, much had been taken off and replaced thanks to a bot that had a turbofox pass on. That included a replacement optic, the only thing it would give her a different color than her amber color. Already much of the replaced frame parts were slowly gaining the crimson color, surprisingly. Yet, Siren still remained in recharge.

From the reports of those that had found her and sadly the many others that had been killed in the blast, she had been awake before collapsing from lose of energon. What didn't seem right was that she growled at any bot that came to close to her and the seekerling she stood over, guarding. The same seekerling that now wouldn't move from her in the medbay since they had brought her in.

It was a little femmling seeker still just about to hit her youngling stage of frame. She was mainly black with highlights of purple and a deep blue. She had a mouth guard that was always up as she clung to Siren's neck in a curled-up ball. They were able to get information on the seekerling finding that she was now orphaned as both parents had been fighting that day to protected everyone in the air with fellow Autobots that had flown alongside the two. The femmling name was Phaserift, her parents were Quickblast and Cinderboom. Both having led a squad of fliers since the outbreak of the war.

What hurt First Aid was the fact when they found Siren with the seekerling, they had also found the gray frames of two other seekerlings. It had been the femmling's trine mates. Not only was the little one without her parental bonds, she was without her trine bond. Putting down the tool he had finished cleaning he moved around to gather energon for the seekerling hoping to get her to get something in her tank. None knew when the femmling last had energon.

Gently he made his way to the femmling, making sure to make noise as he got closer. Her green optics, ones that were rare to be born with, quickly searched his approaching form. Her wingtips twitched taking in information that only seeker kind were sensitive to. He watched as her optics zoomed in on the cube of energon. That alone told him she was low.

Slowly he kneeled down, letting his face plate and visor slide back so the femmling could see a face that was underneath. With a soft smile he held up the cube towards her. "Can you take a little of this? It will help with that rumble in your tank."

The femmling turned from the mech to try and hide more into Siren's neck. "Come little femmling, just a little. That is all I ask, ok?"

She glanced at him while her little fingers tightened their grip on the neck plates. First Aid took this as a tiny bit of hope while getting an idea. Moving he took out a piece of energon goodie to show the femmling. Her wingtips perked up at that sight letting him know she at least knew what it was. "Take a little of this energon and I'll let you have this."

She glanced from the goodie to the cube showing the thoughts going through her little helm. With a small shake of her helm she moved to take the cube and sipped a little of the liquid. It wasn't long before she began to drink more of the energon having felt her tank rumble for more. Once she finished First Aid gave her a smile switching the cube with the goodie he had promised her. "Thank you, little one."

He stood to put the cube up before coming back to sit next to the berth that held Siren. Monitors gave readings that showed normal levels but still she stayed in recharge. Leaning a little on the side of the berth First Aid ran a servo along the side of her helm along the side of her neck plating. The seekerling watched from her place having seen the mech having done so many times to the vixen. Curiosity had started to grow within the femmling to why the mech would always be by the side of the vixen.

Slowly she moved forward gaining the mech's attention. "You seem close with her." Phaserift stated with a tilt to the helm.

First Aid could only smile at that question. "She is a very dear friend of mine. I've known her for vorns, and we have both protected each other when we can out on the battlefield." He glanced to the seekerling. "Just like she did with you little one."

Phaserift nodded thinking back to the cycle that seemed like it happened just the other cycle ago to her. "Carrier would tell me how war was tearing up our home. How it was sending many to the matrix before their time." Her little servo went up to rub her chassis. "Just like it made Carrier and Creator leave for the matrix ,too." She looked up at the red and white mech showing wisdom that shouldn't be there at her young age before leaning into Siren again. "She nearly went with Carrier and Creator too. She stood over me trying to take the brunt of the blast that would have taken me."

"Is that way you have stayed near her? To protect her like she did you?" He asked gaining a nod of the helm. "Thank you for that. She only has so many bots that care for her deeply and I think you would become one she would hold dear to her spark as well." The femmling only snuggled more into Siren's frame.

Being in the middle of the war only heighten the level of offlining that accord so often now. Already they could see the affect the war was having on those wanting to just stay out of it completely yet were still pulled into the madness that spread. Many that wanted to start a family unit didn't after the bombing that happened to a sparkling center just a deca-cycle ago. It had been a large loss to many when they heard of sparklings and younglings dying. It was now rare to find or see a sparkling alive than a youngling like Phaserift who could have survived for a time on her own. Even then, it would only be for a time before lack of energon took ahold.

A harsh vent alerted First Aid to the vixen coming out of recharge finally. With sudden movement the vixen was up growling and snarls ripping from her vocal. She turned this way and that in search of something one an amber the other a yellow color. Once she found the seekerling she stood still, her optics roaming all over the frame of the femmling before collapsing back into the berth. First Aid quickly did a scan finding the vixen had gone back into recharge. He gave a vent as he went about redoing the lines to continue monitoring her.

"Will she be okay?" the femmling asked getting up from being shifted a little away from the crimson turbofox.

"Right now, yes, but until she fully awakens we are still left in the dark about what happened before the blast." He replied. "For now, we wait. Siren is still healing but it shouldn't be too long before she comes around again." Just as he finished his last word Siren vented again, this time slowly coming around with optics booting up slowly.

She looked around with a groan feeling the ache her whole frame was giving her. What gave her a surprise was that she could now see from both sides meaning she had a new optic on the right side. Seeing First Aid made her give out a slight purr to which was replied with a gentle petting along the side of her helm. He felt her lean into his friendly touch taking in the comfort of their bond.

"Siren how are you feeling?" he asked even though he knew she couldn't reply. Her datapad had been fried when the blast happened. She gave a grumble in her answer before turning her helm to look at the femmling. She leaned forward to lick gently at the femmling making her giggle. Knowing what would be needed next Siren let First Aid run scans to make sure everything was going well. By the end of the exam Siren fought to stay alert only for her frame to force her back into a recharge.

First Aid could only continue to watch over his friend in the next couple of cycles as she slowly came back every so often as her systems came back to prime standards. It was during this time that they were able to find a place for the seekerling to go. It came in the form of two other seekers having lost a trine mate in battle several vorns ago. When they heard about the seekerling they strived to find Phaserift knowing how it felt to lose a trine mate. Being she was so young they ask if she would consider in becoming a trine mate with them. Seekers never did well without a bond and the two older seekers knew this and with being the only one of the trine surviving she wouldn't last long. It took little to get the seekerling to agree as she could tell these two seekers were good bots.

Tigadive was a large seeker of deep burgundy and silver etching. His face plating had a deep slice that ran the length of his left side that had come from a sword from a duel long ago. Like many seekers that had talon like digits his were unusually blunt for one. Lockflow was opposite in girth being of a slenderer seeker showing he was the speedier of the two while Tigadive was the one that gave the power behind the fighting in the air. While one was darker in color Lockflow was bright green and gold with silver etching.

"How will you raise her if you are fighting a battle every other cycle?" First Aid asked them nearly a meta-cycle later when they visited the seekerling that still stayed near Siren in the med bay. It had been bugging him for a while know as he thought through it.

Lockflow glanced to Tigadive. "Well, you see since she is one of the very few seekerlings to have survived we asked where we could go that would be a little safer for the three of us. We went to the boss bot and asked to be transferred."

"To where?"

"We're going with you First Aid. They finally set a date for the bots heading to Delphi. Being as we can do patrol in the air during that time they thought it was deemed acceptable to allow us to go with. It allows Phaserift to grow and us to make sure you medic can go about the cycle fixing up bots. They may add a few more bots along with for security but I'm not sure who else may end up going."

This had both First Air and Siren perking up at this new information. "When did they say we would be leaving?" He asked knowing Siren would also like to know.

Lockflow lowered his blue optics some. "Within the meta-cycle. It was only announced just a few joors ago. Not all going have yet been told."

Siren found everything frozen. Her processor stuck repeating what was just stated. First Aid would be leaving within the meta-cycle, and she had never been given any transfer orders. First Aid turned to the vixen besides him as she laid on the berth sadly. Both had been hoping she would also be transferred to Delphi, but it now seemed the time was upon them to separate for an unknown period of time.

"Phaserift." Tigadive gained the seekerlings attention as she sat withing the curled frame of Siren. "You'll be coming with us now. We need to start organizing things for the departure."

Phaserift looked to the vixen giving several soft pats to the crimson plate above the elbow joint. This brought Siren to shift her helm towards the femmling. "Will I see you when we go to leave?" she asked.

Siren felt her optics soften at her question leaning to touch the tip of her snout into the femmling's chassis gently. With a slow vent of air Siren blinked in her way of answering the seekerling. The duel-colored optics took in the seekerling as she moved to stand and be picked up by Tigadive. Feeling a servo weigh on her side she turned to First Aid as he slowly wrapped her up in his arms.

For so long the two of them were together. Vorns, so many having pasted in that time of leaning on the other for support during all of the loss that came with war. Now, they would be going separate ways. At least Delphi was safer than here leaving Siren a bit relieved for her friend. Shifting a little she made the mech lay down on the berth with her letting her helm take a good portion of his chassis with the feel of his spark beat from beneath.

"Looks like I will have to start organizing things as well." First Aid stated quietly his visor looking to the ceiling of the medbay. Siren huffed with a small grumble in her way of answering. "With you still in recovery for a few more cycles I wont be able to come visit." Both understood time was limited now. "How about this. Once you get the okay to get out of med bay we'll spend the whole cycle between us. That way we can do all the things we do together one last time." He helm turned to glanced awkwardly to the vixen. She tilted her helm liking the idea. One last time to stroll around the park, chase each other around as if they were younglings. One last time to relax and get a drink at Maccadam's and just enjoy the environment. Shifting some she gave a nod to the mech before the two of them continued to lay in the silence.
