(Koujo's POV)
It is happening so quickly one minuet the guys and I are relaxing watching TV, the next thing I know is that we are helping to greet guest as they arrive. I smile as Oliver walks through the gate followed by the rest of SPR I continue to smile only for it to fall at seeing Madoka here. Though before I am able to say anything Oliver pulls me to the side and tells me, "I have warned Madoka not to interfere and so have my parents, they have told her if she interferes in your wedding, that she will be let off both here and in London with no severance and that she will have to find her own way home." At his words I feel my anger dissipate at the thought that Oliver's parents were willing to go that far for Mayune and I.
I look up just as Martin and Lula walk through the side entrance I smile as I walk away from Oliver as I nod my head as if saying good by. I then head over and greet Lula and Martin by saying, "Martin, Lula it is so good to see you...thank you for coming."
Lula then responds with a smile on her face, "No we are happy be able to be here you both deserve to be happy, and we are so happy to see that you are doing well."
I smile as I say, "Well please enjoy the time before the ceremony, the ceremony will be taking place in twenty-five minuets please head over we will starts soon all the seats have been labeled so find your name and enjoy the show." as I direct them in the direction to the garden only for them to be escorted by one of the grooms men. I continue to greet guest when the last one walk in and looking at my watch I see that there are only five minuets left until the the ceremony would start.
I gather the guys and head towards Mayune's back yard as I walk over there My mother follows next to me as she smiles at me before saying, "I am truly proud of you my son." As we enter I walk over behind the curtain with my mother and father each of them on both of my sides. We stand and wait until the music starts and we walk forward as I approach the alter I stop and guide my parents to their seats before standing in my place...waiting to see Mayune walk towards me.
(Mayune's POV)
As the time approaches I send the girls out to go line up for the procession of the party. I peek out and watch as Koujo starts to walk past the curtain. I quickly step out with bouquet in hand and walk fast so by the time he was at the front he would not see me... and I make it just in time and slip out of his view before he turns around to watch the others head down the ails. I smile as Sakura and Crow appears next me as I hide behind the divider waiting for the last of the others to walk through. As soon as the last of them walked through and the curtain closed. I step up behind it and take a deep breath centering myself before nodding my head signaling for both Sakura and Crow to pull open the curtains. As soon as they did the guest stood and I looked at Koujo with a smile on my lips and see a look of shock on his face I let a giggle out before I realize that I was walking towards my forever. As I look at him I feel a tear slip down at the though I wish my parents were here to see this I continue walking allowing him to take me in and I stop my tears from flowing as I am almost in front of Koujo. I smile at him as I come to stand next to him and hand my bouquet of to Kikyo before waiting for Michel to begin.
I look at father Michel when he says, " Please be seated. First, I'd like to begin by welcoming everyone and thanking each and every one of you for being here on this most happy of days. It's no accident that each of you are here today, and each of you were invited to be here because you represent someone important in the individual and collective lives of Mayune Lau and Koujo Lin. I truly can't think of a better venue than this beautiful back yard of Mayune's mother's childhood home for an occasion that I know is not only monumental for the wedded-couple-to-be, but for all of us who are lucky to know and love them as individuals; but even more so as a perfect pairing. The most remarkable moment in life is when you meet the person who makes you feel complete. The person who makes the world a beautiful and magical place. The person with whom you share a bond so special that it transcends normal relationships and becomes something so pure and so wonderful, that you can't imagine spending another day of your life without them. For Mayune, that happened about 3 years ago when she met me and we became best friends after she helped me with a case that I had been working for a week though I felt lost at meeting her and the rest of her team and over time they slowly became my family and that when she introduced me to Koujo by this time I could tell that they were both in love with one another. When Koujo first introduced himself to me I stared at him and I quote said, "You hurt her and I'll hurt you." his face was priceless until he said it right back at me all while smiling as if nothing happened and that is when my friendship with koujo started. By now Mayune had explained to me how she had known Koujo for about five years before she introduced him to me, and I had to admit that Koujo, is pretty wonderful, too. I know how deeply these two care for and love one another, and I feel privileged to be here today among all of you as a witness of their commitment to a lifetime of love for one another." I smile at his words.
When he decided to continue by saying, "As a third-party spectator to their developing love, it was extremely clear that the two of them represent a perfect pairing because each of them complements the other so well. They balance one another, and while each of them are tremendous individuals on their own, together they are even better. And being better together, as a team, a unit, and partners in crime, is what has been many years in the making and ultimately leads us to being here today, witnessing their commitment to one another in front of those they love most. I wish I could tell you a single story about Koujo and Mayune that summarizes their relationship and how they enrich each other's lives, and the lives of each of us, but the truth is there isn't one single event that is a good encapsulation of what they mean to me, to each other, and to all of us. But what I do know is that both of them care deeply and passionately for each other; they protect each other; they make each other laugh and think outside themselves; that time magically seems to both fly and slow down when they're together. They help each other in ways that are obvious and unnoticed, but always appreciated. But it's also my personal experiences with Koujo and Mayune that highlight the quality of their love. It doesn't matter if I'm with them in person, or simply in a bizarre group text with them—when I'm engaging with Koujo and Mayune, I am always enjoying myself. And I am certain that that's part of what makes them so special to each of us: how happy and contented we feel when we are with them. And what I wish for them on their wedding day is that their lifetime together as a team is one of complete contentment; full of those moments that they wish would never end, and that they continue to make one another smile and laugh as they make each of us do..."
He stopped and looked at both of us before continuing again, "So, without further ado…Dearly beloved and honored guests...We are gathered together here to join Koujo Lin and Mayune Lau in the union of marriage. This contract is not to be entered into lightly, but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. The bride and groom have each prepared vows that they will read now, Koujo you may start."
I look to koujo as he begins by saying, "I vow to wash if you'll dry, just so we can be together in the kitchen, laughing, all night - every night...I promise not to make fun of the way you pack... or to second-guess your packing skills. Even if you shove things in the back of the car willy-nilly without considering how everything might fit...I vow not to take any of your less pleasing habits personally, even though I really wish you would put the keys back on the key hook, and not leave your shoes in the middle of the hallway, and I love you...I remember feeling your pulse race right before you told me you love me for the first time. I remember the look on your face when I said it back a few days later. There are so many things I love about you. I love your different laughs, and I love when I draw them out of you. I love how compassionate you are. I love how loyal you are to everybody you love, and I'm honored to be counted among them. I never could have imagined that I would get to spend my life with someone as wonderful as you. You are loved by so many, and so much, and by no one more than me...So, today, I'm standing here, promising to stand by your side for the rest of our lives...Because I have finally found my home, and it's you. I've never been this sure about love in my entire life, and I cherish every moment we spend together. Being with you has made my life interesting and complete. And if you ever find yourself asking, 'How long will I love you?' you already know the answer to that...I, Koujo Lin, choose you, Mayune Lau, to be my wife. I will respect you, care for you, and grow with you through good times and hard times, as your friend, companion, and partner, giving all that I can to fulfill our lives together."
I shake my head before saying, "I Mayune promise that as your wife, I will not keep score, even though I am totally winning." I watch as Koujo laughs and I hear the guest laugh as well. I smile as I continue by saying, "I don't believe in love at first sight. We didn't have that. We knew each other long before there was ever love in our hearts for each other. I do believe in love at first kiss though. I didn't want to admit it then, but I loved you from the moment you kissed me. I never thought you would do it, and when you did, it was like my heart came alive. I never could have dreamed that I would love someone as much as I love you. You are my sun and stars. Thank you for loving me. Because of your love I feel like I can face anything, so for that I promise myself to you. I promise to always give you my kisses, my smiles, my hugs, my laughter, my tears, my hopes, and my fears."
I look Koujo in the eyes and see mirth in them and I continue by saying, "I promise to always eat weird food at strange hours and to laugh at horribly inappropriate things with you. I promise I will say I'm sorry when I am wrong — though we both know I never am — and to forgive you when you are. I vow to always make fun WITH you or at least to kiss you after making fun OF you. I will always race you to the car. I won't try to stop you from falling, learned my lesson on that one, but I will help you up afterwards. I vow to always support your dreams, even if they scare the crap out of me. I will always encourage you to be a better man, to reach your goals and to live your life in a way that will make our family proud. I promise to always say 'I love you,' even if we fight, because you should always know how much you mean to me. I vow to always smile when you laugh and hug you when you cry. I swear to never take you for granted and will always say thank you for everything you do and all the love you give. I will always hold your hand because when you hold mine, my nerves calm, I sleep better, and though not all may be right with the world, all is right with us. Above all, I will ALWAYS love you… forever. So I, Mayune Lau, promise to be your wife and take you as my husband and I will respect you, care for you, and grow with you through the good and hard times, as your friend, companion, and partner in crime, and I promise to give all that I can to fulfill our lives together."
Michel then said, "And now please join hands… Koujo Lin, do you take Mayune Lau to be your wife? Do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect her, forsaking all others, and holding only unto her forevermore?"
Koujo responded, "I do."
Michel then asked, "And Mayune Lau, do you take Lin Koujo to be your husband? Do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect him, forsaking all others, and holding only unto him forevermore?"
I smile as I squeeze Koujo's hands and say, "I do."
Michel then turns and looks at Kevin and glances at Kikyo before saying, 'the rings.' Kevin then pulled the rings out of his jacket pocket and handed the box to Michel. Michel then held his hand open towards Kikyo as she pulled the box out of the center of her bouquet and handed it to him.
Michel then says, "Koujo Lin and Mayune Lau will now exchange rings as a symbol of love and commitment to each other. Rings are a precious metal; they are also made precious by you wearing them. Your wedding rings are special; they enhance who you are. They mark the beginning of your long journey together. Your wedding ring is a circle—a symbol of love never ending. It is the seal of the vows you have just taken to love each other without end. He turned towards Koujo and opened the box he received from Kevin and says, "Koujo, please place the ring on Mayune's left hand and repeat after me…As a sign of my love that I have chosen you…"
Koujo smiles as he grabs the ring from Michel and turns to face me as he says, "As a sign of my love that I have chosen you"
Michel then says, "above all else with this ring, I thee wed."
Koujo says, "Above all else with this ring, I thee wed."
Michel says, "And now Mayune, please place the ring on Koujo's left hand and repeat after me…As a sign of my love that I have chosen you"
I repeat and say, "As a sign of my love that I have chosen you…
Michel then says, "above all else with this ring, I thee wed."
I smile as I feel a tear slip down my cheek as I say, "above all else with this ring, I thee wed."
Michel then says, "To make your relationship work will take love. Continue to date each other. Take time to show each other that your love and marriage grows stronger with time. It will take trust to know that in your hearts, you truly want what is best for each other. It will take dedication to stay open to one another—and to learn and grow together. It will take loyalty to go forward together, without knowing exactly what the future brings. And it will take commitment to hold true to the journey you have both pledged today…And now by the power vested in me by the church and by china law, it is my honor and delight to declare you married. Go forth and live each day to the fullest. You may seal this declaration with a kiss."
I smile as I feel Koujo pull my body flush with his as he slightly dips me causing me to place one of my hands on the back of his head the other on his shoulder as he gave me a very intense kiss. I hear Michel say in the background, "I am so pleased to present the newlyweds, Koujo and Mayune Lin." As Koujo pulls away and lifts me back into a standing position my hands drop to his chest as I let them stay there, it is then that I hear the applause of our guest.
I blush and hide my face on his chest, I am so shy that he showed them such a kiss. Pulling away from his chest I slightly hit his chest as I let a pout form on my lips, and I say, "Meanie."
I hear and feel Koujo laugh before saying, "I am sorry I just have been wanting to kiss you since our parting last night."
I shake me head right as Michel says, "Ladies and gentlemen the bride and groom have chosen to partake in the traditional Chinese tea ceremony to recognize their parents today. The tea ceremony is a Chinese wedding ritual that dates to the 7th century. The serving of tea is an expression of gratitude from children to their parents for all their love and support, as well as a gesture of respect and appreciation to their new in-laws. It also is a celebration of the gaining of a son or daughter into each family, and an opportunity for the parents to welcome them."
At this point both Koujo and I move over to the area where the tea had been prepared right before the ceremony. I smile as I properly pour the tea into the four cups and hand the tray to Koujo, we then both turned around and headed towards his parents and the table with a picture of both my parents sitting on it. I smile to his parents as I say, "Thank you for your love and care." First to his mother and then I walk over to the image and place each cup down as I feel tears slide down my face as I say, "Thank you for your love and care…I wish you were here." I feel myself start to shake when I feel Koujo's hand on my back. I pull a handkerchief out of my dress and wipe away my tears before following Koujo back to the Tea serving area, I watch him pour four cups as well before he hands me the tray.
This time I follow behind him as he hands the cups out and says, "Thank you for your love and care." Before he goes over to the image of my parents as we approach, I notice that the cups I had placed down were empty…As Koujo was setting down his cups he also saw this and glances at me I shake my head as I start to cry again. Soon after he placed down the cups we both bowed to the image…as I stand up I see that both of the cups that had just been set down are empty as well and it is at that moment that I feel a warmth surround me before a small wing glides over me leaving me cold signaling that my parents had been with me this whole time and that they got to see me get married and that they were now moving on because they now know I am no longer alone and will be happy with my life. I did not notice that Koujo had felt this as well and if by instinct he got up and got next to me as I felt my legs go slightly weak allowing him to hold me up as I broke down at this sudden overwhelming feeling of both happiness and sadness. I use my handkerchief and wipe way my tears when I feel Koujo turn my body to face him allowing him to hold me as I cry, with tears in my eyes I look up at his face allowing him to lean down and kiss away my tears causing my breath to catch. Unbeknownst to me everyone had seen my behavior but only a few had felt the presence and truly understood why I was crying this much. It is then that I feel a had set on my shoulder as I look back, I see Meihui standing there asking me with her eyes if I am alright and I nod my head to show her I am fine and that it was just an emotional experience.
I stand up allowing Koujo to release me as I wipe away my tears. I look at the guest and say, "Well everyone please go and enjoy happy hour, Koujo and a few of us have to go take photos we will be right back."
I watch as most of the guest head to the reception area in Koujo's parent's backyard. As I look at who was still there I see Masako standing there next to Koujo's parents before she walks up to me and says, "Your parents wanted me to let you know that they are so proud of you and that they love you and that they will wait until they can see you again at your time which isn't for a long time."
I smile as more tears slip down my cheek as I say, "Thank you Masako." I use my handkerchief and wipe away the tears as I feel Koujo's hand on my lower back I look up at him and smile as I say, "I'm fine."
Koujo nods his head before looking over to his right and I see the photographers taking photos and the videographer video I smile and head over to the others. As soon and group and family photos were done everyone ells headed over to the reception area except Koujo and I we both stayed back to take our couples wedding photos. I remember we did some walking as they took some videos and photos though my favorite part of this whole part of the wedding was when they had us take a photo where I was leaning against a cherry that was in full bloom and was dropping petals all while having Koujo lean down and kiss me as my back was against the tree and another one where Koujo lifted me as I was facing him and my arms were on his with my bouquet in one hand and our noses were touching while we smile before we kissed yet again and she slowly set me back down in front of him. As soon as we finished with photos and videos it had been an hour since the ceremony, we then both make our way over and as we approach, I hear Michel say, "and now here come the Koujo and Mayune Lin." We both walked up to the dance floor with smiles on our faces.
As soon as I step on the dance floor all of the bridesmaids come over and sort of push Koujo away from me as they take off the outer skirt revealing the dress below, as I watch Koujo for any reactions I am not let down to see that this was another surprise to him and that he was loving the way I was looking as I see desire in his eyes before he is on me and has me in his arms yet again as soon as the girls had been gone for no more than four minutes. It took him that long to get it together and come to me after I had spun around to show off the dress. Though before he could kiss me Michel says, "Now ladies and gentlemen it is time the lovely couples first dance." Koujo pulls me into my arms as the song he chose started to play. I smile as I hear beautiful crazy by Luke Combs start to play causing me to laugh, before I lay my head down on his chest as we dance slowly to the music. When it get to the part of the song where Luke Combs says, "Well it kinda scares me the way that she drives…me wild…and she drives me wild." I hear our guest laugh as I pull my face away from Koujo's chest and shake my head as I laugh before I look up into his eyes and see him smiling and laughing as well before he leans down and places a kiss on my lips as the song continues to play. As soon as that song came to an end my song started to play and it is Katy Perry's song called Unconditionally. I watch Koujo's face and see him smile down at me before I wrap my arms around his neck and allow him to kiss me as we dance. As my song came to an end Koujo dipped me and kissed me even deeper than the ceremony kiss, he stands me up as I slowly drop my arms from around his neck and place them on his chest. After that our reception lunch and the cake cutting went by fast. The wedding had started at nine in the morning it is now one in the afternoon and now everyone was starting to leave the first to come and say good by to us were Koujo's parents followed by LPR, and SPR then the last of the guest left after wishing us well. The only people left were the photographers so Koujo and I took some photos of Koujo carrying me through the gate connecting to two back yards as the gates close behind us. As soon as those photos were done, we said to good by to them as well, after they were gone for twenty minuets the clean up crew arrived and started to clear the venue. Koujo stands next to me as his hand rest on my hip while I lean against him as I smile and watch them pack away the chairs and the tables, as I look at the buffet, I see that Koujo's mom had packaged the food up and taken it inside the house before they left to the airport. As I look at the gift table, I see the gift table is empty signaling that one of the girls or the shiki had moved the stuff into the house. I smile as the rental company comes and takes away the divider which was the only thing left, because the cleanup crew took out the trash and had cleaned everything up making the back yards seem as if no event had taken place there.
After we thank the rental company and close and lock the gate behind them our shiki appear and say, "Masters we have sealed and stored your cake…some for later and the top tear for your one-year anniversary.
I glance up at Koujo as he says, "Thank you, you may rest now…we will call if we need you." As he speaks, I feel his hand squeeze my hip as he pulls me flush against his body. As son as our shiki are gone Koujo walks me towards my house as we enter, we close the gates behind us. As soon as I step away from the gate Koujo lifts me off the ground in a princess carry and heads to the back door of my house. As Koujo approaches my house with me in his arms, I feel both excitement and nerves settle in the pit of my stomach at what is about to happen.
