"Uuuuuh…" I groan in pain and shift slightly and then yelp, I slowly open my eyes and glance around. I'm in a hospital room… how did I get here? Does that mean everyone made it out alive? I look up as the door opens and Professor Ozpin and Professor Goodwitch walk into the room.
"It seems you have finally woken up." Ozpin says as he notices you staring at him. "You have been out cold for a week. Also before you ask," He says as I open my mouth. "Your team is safe and sound back here. They also gave me a report of what happened well you were in the field. Apparently it was your idea to get close and check on the numbers that set off the attack, not only that, but you tried to abandon your team in the middle of your fight, and before you try to argue your entire team has collaborated this story." Ozpin warned before you could object.
"Normally against accusations so severe a student would be expelled, or at least put on a temporary probation until the accusations are either cleared, however this would put your team out of commission and luckily another alternative has presented itself in the form of an intern professor, who after hearing your case, has agreed to serve as a chaperone of sorts watching you and your team so nothing like this happens again. However if it does happen again we will have proof, and you will be expelled from the academy." Professor Goodwitch tells me as I to just glare at them silently.
"Fine whatever." I growl and turn my head away, ignoring them. They left after the obvious dismissal and Goodwitch said something about someone coming over later with her missed homework. After a while I sigh to myself, "I should just leave Beacon…" I sigh again.
"Why should you leave Beacon?" I glance up and see a busty blonde standing in the doorway with a folder tucked under her arm.
"I know you don't I?" I ask.
"We are in the same classes, though you generally tend to not talk to anyone and stick to yourself, my name is Yang Xiao Long and I'm a member of Team RWBY. I was asked to come by and bring you the classwork you missed as well as notes from lectures." She tosses the folder onto the table next to you. "Now why do you want to leave Beacon?"
"I'm pretty sure you already know, I "disobeyed orders and got my group attacked" and "I abandoned them and tried to save myself and leave them to die." I tell her bitterly. "I'm untrustworthy and a coward."
"Yea that's what they said, but is that what happened?" She asks and waits for my response.
"Does it matter? Why would you even care you don't know me or anything about me, you think I did it to don't you, like I'm sure probably everyone in school does."
"I don't really care, I just wanted to know if there was another side to this story is all, but if there isn't then oh well." She stands up and turns to leave but stops when I touch her hand.
"I didn't do what they said I did… Zeke wanted to get a closer look after I confirmed that they had in fact made the cave their nest, even though I tried to talk him out of it, I couldn't get an exact count but I knew there were more than we could handle in that cave. And the whole thing with abandoning them? Zeke asked me to cut a path through the Beowolves so they could follow and we could try to make a run for it, but I think Zeke forgot, or didn't tell the others the plan and to cover for his mistake be blamed me so he wouldn't be seen as incompetent or anything." I tell her softly. "So now everyone will think of me as a pathetic coward who abandoned her team, and not only that but I couldn't be a huntress now anyway, my weapons were broken and I have no money to buy a new one or repair these." I motion to the broken claws on the table across the room. "So I might as well leave Beacon right?"
"Well, I don't think you should, I mean sure the school might think you're a coward, but I personally believe you, it didn't really make sense what they said you did, so just Yang in there ok?" She says with a grin and I chuckle slightly at her pun.
"Well thanks for the vote of confidence but that's one person, and like I said I don't have any weapons so I don't see how I could even continue with the classes, I don't have the skills to design a new one or the money to buy the materials."
"Give me one second. Hey Ruby can you come in here?" Yang calls out and a second later a younger girl walks in with black hair with red highlights and a red cape and dazzlingly silver eyes walks in.
"What's up sis?" Ruby asks.
"Alaina this is Ruby, my younger sister." I nod hello, "Ruby you still like weapons right?" Ruby looks at her like, 'Are you kidding me?' "Ok ok I was just making sure, do you think you could sketch out a quick design for me of a clawed weapon like those over there? But you know more high-tech like Crescent Rose?"
"Nice to meet you Alaina, yea it shouldn't be a problem I can draw up some rough designs really fast, give me a minute." Ruby walks over to the table and starts studying the remains of the weapons there.
"Why bother Yang? I told you I can't afford the material needed to get a new weapon." I told her.
"Don't worry about money Alaina, my friend Weiss can take care of everything, right Weiss?" Yang calls out the door and a few seconds later a girl with white hair and a scar over her eye stalks in.
"You must be joking Yang, I don't even know this girl, why would I bother to spend the money to make a weapon for her, we don't even know if she did what the rest of team Zeal says or not, for all we know she DID abandon them." I shrink back slightly from her words and stare at the sheets well gripping them tightly.
"Weiss that's uncalled for, we have no reason to believe she did what Zeke claims she did, you know as well as I do he isn't much better than Cardin. I personally believe her, that's why I am asking you to pay for the weapon, we will try to keep it cheap, right Ruby?" Ruby nods her head.
Weiss thinks for several moments well I stare at the bed. "Alright, however you owe me you got it?" She says, directing her words at me.
"What do you want me to do? I don't really have the money to pay you or anything…" I reply
"I don't know yet, but just know you owe me a huge favor." She says and gives Ruby her credit card.
"… Why are you doing this for me Yang? You don't even know me and you already asked your sister to come up with a weapon for me and asked Weiss for money to buy the materials needed. It doesn't make any sense, I mean sure we are in the same class, but I don't really know ANY of you, the girl with the bow, I don't even know her name." I say as the girl slips into the room. She quickly says hello and introduces herself as Blake Belladonna.
"Well, why wouldn't we help someone when they are down? We are classmates, and I think we could be friends." Yang tells me.
Before I can reply Ruby walks up and shows everyone the sketch she made up, "It's pretty simple but effective, any special modifications you would like?"
"A gun, I need some form of ranged combat." I tell her.
"A gun doesn't really seem to suit your style though." Blake cut in and Ruby nods her head in agreement.
"Blake is right, a gun would be too loud, and I would actually recommend a special device that I just recently came up with that would work well with." She draws up another quick sketch and shows it to everyone. "It's a Shuriken Launcher, there are 4 kinds, a standard one that could take on the average Beowolf and Ursa, a dust version that has a lot more punch, and then the Shredder Round, they unfold after being fired for more power and piercing ability, they can easily punch through a Boarbatusk's thick armor and then a dust version of that one as well, silent and powerful, in theory." She smiles sheepishly, "It's still untested of course but I can make it work."
"You guys would really be willing to do this for me?" I as them looking at each one in puzzled shock and gratitude.
"Of course we would!" Ruby and Yang say together with Weiss and Blake nodding their agreement.
"It's nice that you girls are so willing to help a classmate down on their luck, but you really should do your research if you want to help." We all look to the door at the new voice invading the conversation. A tall, purple haired woman is standing in the doorway, a kind smile on her face.
