Kings, something told me it would be too good to be true- just too good. I can't believe this. "Well, what did you expect Nuka? they've been mates for over a year." ugh, why was mother here. I'm already annoyed knowing my best move is now siding with the enemy.

"I don't care if she was stuck here for 10 years this is messing with MY plan." ugh the never of her, she had one job. and she couldn't even do that right. and what's more, the hyenas I sent to keep an eye on her didn't update me that she had become pregnant. they are sure going to get it when I have the time. Fuck it all.

guh, one thing I can say is that these cave floors seem a lot softer than the stone-cold one back at pride rock. which I know doesn't make any sense, because they are both rock den. My body melted into the rock practically as I laid down. Home was getting annoying and was becoming a major pain in my ass.I was probably tired but hell, you can sleep when you're dead.

"yes you are, it's like you've become obsessed with this idea of continuing what your father started."

"well, you weren't complaining about when dad spoke of it. You didn't complain about it when he sent Vitani off. so if you think now is a time to jump off I'm sorry to say it's a little to late."

Father was just lucky those hyenas he asked to help him take over the pride lands didn't turn on him."

If they had any damn sense they would have taken over and killed us. way before the drought and the famine- before the animals all left! thankfully dogs are too stupid to know that. why do you think I left them to 'oversee' that dump. They'll all die out before the end of the dry season."

"I won't fall, because I'm not going to make the same mistake dad made. That's why the only lions I have in my inner circle is you and Shia. nobody else matters."

"Nuka." I looked up when I heard a sternness in my mother's voice. A sternness she knows not to use on me. " I don't want you to hurt your sister and I meant that." ughhh, I knew exactly where this was going. I rose from my lying position slowly.

"Look I don't know what's gotten into you. I don't know if it's seeing your first grand cub that's got you all 'family-orientated' or whatever the hell you want to call it now. because I promise you the feeling will fade and relax you'll have more grand cub to fawn over about soon. I'll see to that..."

"Nuka!"

"ughh what dammit!"

"Please take what you are thinking of doing more seriously, please!" within seconds I was face to face with my mother. Whatever emotional hormonal ride she was on, she needed to get off. "N...nuka I didn't mean to-"

" mother I don't know who you're trying to fool. because you aren't fooling me. you never gave a damn about Vitani. what did you always tell me when we were growing up huh? that I was destined to be what?"

"The favorite cub..." her voice was hesitant.

"even though father hated to admit it to my face, I knew he secretly loved me more. Tough love for me was his way of showing it, I know that for a fact. he put all his trust and faith in me. he only entertained Simba to push me further. I can't lie it was what I needed. I was weak... a pushover, nothing. but only father died, I promise you, mother, I was reborn again. And I also promise I'm going to be better than father! Than any ruler of the pride lands history, after what I will do. trust me. It'll all work out. You just make sure nothing gets in my way."

"Alright...where are you going?"

"Out, I want to see the layout of my new kingdom. Where are the lioness?"

"They are staying in another den. not too far from here. I think it's shared by royals family of the mountain pride too."

"I see. don't wait up."

RyanSquad- man you're wrong for that lol! I do plan on having this story come to a close around the end of June or July.

Wolf heart 22- Thank you for the review, I went back and forth on how I wanted it to start out but I figured with this, we'll get right to the action when the news gets out about the kings passing.

KawaiiCutie12- You know I was never a big Nuka fan. But with this first pov, I hope I can get more into his developing character. and yes he better keep his paws on baby Roho!
