SIMBA
"Hey..." I walked up beside Kenya, who was sunbathing. I slept in this morning and didn't get a chance to see her before she left for the morning hunt. A part of me still feels bad from the other day, when her father and I had that little blowout. I think her father might have told her already, but something like that should come from me, right. I already apologized to Kye himself. but still, if word got around that happened I'd feel bad.
"Hey." She rolled over on her side to face me. She had a warm smile on her face, the sun radiating off her fur was memorizing. wow, I feel so lucky, how in this messed up world did I manage to get with her?
"I wanted to say im sorry." I figured I might as well come out and say it, now from her face I could see she had no idea what i was talking about. Okay, so maybe Kye didn't mention anything to her.
"Sorry? for what?" she asked, confused.
"Your dad didn't tell you?" Clearly he didn't. But let's play along here.
"No, nothing that I can think of." she then sat up, and eyed her curiously. " what are you talking about?"
"oh...well."
"Whats up Simba?" she nuzzled me, and that made me feel immediately better about what I was going to tell her.
"The other day, when I was with your dad... I kinda snapped at him."
"Snapped? like an angry snap?"
"Yes," I admitted a little embarrassed.
"Why? What happened?" I looked at her furrowed eyebrows. I could understand the concern her father and I always got along, even when I first got here. He welcomed me in with open paws.
"It was nothing, I just made it into a big deal for no reason." which thinking about it now, I must have. I don't know why I got so worked up- well I do. but that has nothing to do with Kenya and myself. Being with her is nothing like my past. I can be carefree with her. I don't have a mountain high pressure of responsibility.
"What did he say to you? I know he said something out of paw, im sorry Simba. Was it about you having second thoughts? Because I know that's what he'd say..."
"Yes and yes-"
"yes? you're having second thoughts?"
"Oh no, to that part, but yes to what you said before. I'm not having seconds thoughts."
"...okay." kings why am I being so confusing.
" And I think he was just helping, or at least seeing where my head was at."
"Seeing where your head as at?" I shook my head, there was no need to explain the complexity of my scattered mind.
"Like I said it was nothing-" I felt a thud on the back of my head. I looked around, to see a small grapefruit with juice spilling out of it. Clearly it had been ripped from its stem...and I know exactly who did it. "ugh not again." I groaned...of all the times.
"Not again?" voiced Kenya looking at me. She looked at me curiously until another grapefruit went flying by, catching her attention. "Did you just see that!"
"Yea I did." gross I could feel the sticky juicing stuck to the back of my mane. " Hey, will you stop that!"
" um, Simba who are you talking to?" Right, I do look like an idiot talking to the damn air.
"Ugh never mind, let's go." I got up, we'd just have to finish this conversation somewhere else.
"What was that?" Kenya asked me, as she followed me away from the river.
"Some crazy lunatic that lives here, you've never seen him," I informed her.
"Never, and I've been here all my life. Hello!" I stopped in my tracks, was she crazy. Don't call the crazy monkey over here!
"No Kenya don't bring him here!" to late. "ugh dammit..." Why do I even bother?
" Aye my fran long tim no see." and just like speaking of the devil, he appeared from the treetops. I must say as old as this monkey looks, he's very agile
"friend, you know him Simba?" asked Kenya curiously, as she eyed...whatever the hell that monkey name was.
"No, I have no clue who he is." no I do know who he is, he's my stalker that for sure.
"ya hurt meh heart son..." I rolled my eyes, at him. Kenya just laughed. I don't know what she thinks is so funny about it.
"aww, he's cute." cute? cute? lionesses like everything these days.
"Cute? that's not cute, that's annoying."
"Do you live here?" Kenya asked.
"Naw, meh com here from tim to tim."
"Well you can leave now, and go back to your home then, thank you."
"Don't be mean Simba, he didn't do anything wrong."
"He threw a grapefruit at me!" I retorted, she'd be mad too if there were sticky crap stuck to the back of her head.
"...it was funny." of course she'd think that.
"Oh, my kings... well I'm glad you got a chance to meet the cute monkey, now we can go." I began to walk away but stopped when I noticed Kenya was not beside me. Great...
"go? go were, da actions comin ta you! meh tryin ta tell ya"
"What?" asked Kenya who still stood in front of him. "Say that again?"
"Don't pay him any attention he speaks in broken riddles."
"What action is coming here?" she asked, and I let out a sigh of frustration. we were never going to get away from him.
"ya fran."
"friend?" oh boy, I know exactly what he's about to say.
"ya, Simba fran will be here fa him real soon, ta call him!"
"Kenya, please don't entertain him. Like I said he's the forest lunatic." I made it my mission to get my girlfriend away from him. If she kept asking questions, we'd never leave. she's so curious sometimes... I got in between them. "Let's go."
"But wait! I wanted to know what else he was going to say..."
"It doesn't matter Kenya he's crazy." I was glad he didn't follow after us, then I would have really been annoyed. but it seemed as if the monkey had some common sense.
"Why are you so worked up about it?" Kenya came walking alongside me. " He was probably;y just bored and joking with you. Like you said, he's a lunatic so no need to be a stick in the mud."
"He's annoying." that's all I have to say about it.
"you've had this encounter more than once?"
"Hmp, like every time I come here or am alone. He's a real pain in the ass."
"What was he talking about then, you have a friend coming here?"
"Like he said he talks in riddles?"
"Like a shaman?"
"Sure whatever you want. He'll just talk your ear off about nonsense from the past."
"So you're going to ignore what he said about a friend coming for you? That's kinds weird for someone to say if they don't know you, and he knew you're name too."
"I told you, he's crazy. He's a stalker...He'll say my dead dad is coming for our wedding ha."
"Dead dad?" I felt Kenya's eyes lock onto me from we continued walking. " I didn't know your father was dead."
"I know, I don't talk about it."
" yes but really-"
"What Kenya what is it?" because clearly she has to have something on her mind.
" It just...I don't know, that information about your dad, shouldn't you have told me? I mean I complain about my dad all the time, and this whole time your dad's been dead. It feels like I've been insensitive to you." I stopped walking. " That's all."
" Well, you're not so don't worry about it. I'm fine."
"You don't seem fine."
"What?" I snapped, not stopping myself before I realized it.
"Just calm down okay. You're working yourself up for no reason."
"ugh, im sorry." I sighed and rubbed the back of my head. Clearly we're going to need a sit down for this. "Yea my dad dead along time ago. for some reason he reminds me of him, I don't know why."
"oh...do you want to talk about it, I mean I think we should. We should be able to tell each other everything right. Past and all, we'll be married soon. I should know everything about you, and right now I feel like I don't even know you."
"Fine, fine you want to know about my dad?"
"No, not if you're going to be angry about it. I can see you getting worked up and I want to help you, I just don't know-how. You're always telling e me you're fine, but the nightmares keep coming back!" ugh see how my past is a pain on my ass! it's always bringing me trouble. " don't think I haven't noticed."
"You're right. I have been off...i've been feeling off. about sometimes."
"Like what Simba?"
"...my past. I do feel like something is unsettled within me, and I can't understand why."
"Do you want to talk about it? " after a while of me not saying anything I guess Kenya took that as my answer. " Right, you like to keep things to yourself." she began to walk away. shit.
"Wait, im sorry. I do need to talk about it, to get it off my chest. Can I talk to you about it."
"Of course you can Simba, that's what im here for." she came over and nuzzled me. " We can talk about it whenever you want."
"...Tonight then, I'll tell you about my father tonight."
RyanSquad, man I'm finishing this fanfic this year!
Guest, Yes, and I do have a plan for Vitani and Nuka have some serious heart to heart conversations in the upcoming chapters. Which I think will open Nuka up to being more vulnerable...perhaps. I need to work on getting into his head more, that way it'll be understood on how he will be defeated.
and yes you heard right I'm planning on a sequel for both, to continue this storyline and on focusing on Simba and Nala's relationship. Because I want them to be together and I want Kiara and Kovu in my story and I'm going to find a way to get them in here for sure.
