The moon looked extremely bright tonight. casting its grey shadows far beyond the eye could see. On top of my den, in the center of the pride territory, I could see everything. My vantage point was kneen. On the far off distance of were, pride rock sits. To waits to wastes away until my return. My plans for that place will be bigger and better than before once I return. The only kink I can see causing me problems is the added baggage that I have to carry to get me there... the hyenas.
What to do with them, when this is all said and over. I wouldn't dare let them remain in the pridelands. with all the destruction they caused under my father's rule. But he needed them, as do I, to get where we need to be. I know, It'll take me years to get the pridelands back in order. and to be truthful...they add nothing to my kingdom that I see for me.
They aren't even the bones or structure in my vision. I guess they are the stable dirt I walk on. I'll have to find a way to get rid of them, hmm, maybe when my pride is large enough the lions themselves will turn on the hyenas. and I won't have to do a damn thing. A smile came to my face, as I thought about my glorious future- Then that all came to an end.
When the sounds of howling, broke the silence of the night sky."Boss! Boss..." I looked down to see a hyena running to me from the distance. Hiss black and dirt fur mixing him well into the night.
"What is it?" I asked, annoyed from the distraction.
"...it's ...Alphas returned!" my ears perked.
"What? Already?" that couldn't be right, or that was rather fast of the duo. and with no fuck ups, im impressed.
"Yes, he's just been seen crossing the territory, Sir."
"Does he have Shia with him?" I climbed down the rock structure.
"No sir." Of course, I knew this was too good to be true. What else should I have expected, if you want to job done right you have to do it your dam self.
"He's coming back alone?" clarifying the detailed questions that were starting to form in my mind. There would only be one reason why he would return, with my sister not in toe adn without his partner.
"As far as I can tell...yes sir."
"Alright, go out to meet him, tell him to come straight to me." the hyena nodded, and took off back into the night. It took them no time to return to me because they knew how I hated to be kept waiting. They were both out of breath and nearing exhaustion when came to me.
"You're back, what news do you have for me." I got right to the point. Something was telling me I would be in for a world of trouble by the look on Alpha's face. What was it?"I can see you came back alone." I watched the dog tense up before me as I circled him.
"ye-yes Nuka..."
"What happened? Did you lose her."
"No...w-we found where she was hiding...there's a small oasis east from here...a...about full days and a half journey."
"And you seemed to make it here in record time."
"yes...i...i had urgent news to give you." I felt like he was trying to butter up to me, get on my good side because he had failed me. What I told him to do was so fucking simple. Just bring my sister back. Her scent was already tracked all they needed to do was bring her here. it's not like she'd have the strength to overpower both of them! I would think sending two, one of them would be able to figure something the fuck out! "t-there's...a.. small Oasis Nuka."
"and that's were Shia is?" I felt myself growing my aggravated by the second.
"yes..sir, but pride is their too.." pride, what pride? I stopped circling him and looked at him directly. The hyena still had fear written all over his face, it was ridiculous.
"Pride?" I asked "What pride? There is no pride known from there."
"...but sir, there is..."
"What are their numbers?" Now this had me thinking, what in king's name was Shia doing with another pride, how did she never know about them? who was this fucking pride to begin with?!
"...b...before I left there was...two males and two females...b...but more were on the way."
"I see, and hyena that went with you, what happened to him?" I already knew what the answer was, but I'd rather be sure he's out somewhere dead. Then out there, someplace free. Failing me and prolonging my glory.
"H...he got captured by one of...of the older males there sir..." I figured... then that means... I already know his death was for certain then.
"And you left him there to die," I asked, not that I gave a damn anyway." and then you return to me without my sister?" the tenseness in his body was starting to obstruct his labored breathing." Tell me Alpha, what is keeping me from throwing you out and killing you. What value could you possibly fucking have for me now, since you came back to me, EMPTIED PAWED!"
"...t...the lions there sir!..was your cousin...Simba!"
"What?"
"..yes...I took me by surprise too! and that wasn't all..."
"What do you mean?"
"Nala... I saw n-Nala joined him too." well this sure put a spin on things. I was sure all hell that my cousin had already died.
" there's no fucking way...that's where she sent them to hide." Now it was all starting to make sense! "well this just made my fucking day!" I had to laugh I just had too, this shit was truly comical.
"...s...sir I believe Simba is coming here to challenge you..." excuse me?
"Challenge me?" I asked again because clearly I had misheard him. once he nodded to head to confirm what he had said, I thought... " please." there was no way in hell Simba would come here to challenge. Not after he'd been gone for so long, hell missed ALL the fun.
"i...i..over heard them all talking. Simba knows what you did to his mother...he wants you dead." Oh so that what is it? mommy's revenge? typical. he's not doing this for himself, he's doing it because he can't sleep at night or live with himself now knowing that fact about his mother and I assume brother. Spineless... He probably thought he could have done something to stop it from happening...how naive.
"Oh, does he?" hmm this will definitely add an interesting turn of events for me. "hmm, I'll hold him up to his challenge then. Alpha go wake my sister, we have some serious deals of negotiation to talk about." without hesitation and -not wanting to be in my presence anymore, for the fear of his life- Alpha nodded and went on his order and the hyena that accompanied him followed after him.
"yes sir." hmm, things are about to get very interesting.
"Nuka? What's going on?" I turned to see Shanti approaching me
"They found her," I stated plainly.
"Shia really...did they bring her back?"
"No, she's still there...with Nala and my nephew." I could see the added information sparked a light in her eye.
"What?...so she knew where they were the whole time!"
"No, but I'm guessing my sister did." I looked at Shanti, who looked back at me. She looked pleased.
"This is great, we can get them back. and teach them a lesson for betraying you."
"They weren't the only ones there..."
"What do you mean?"
"My cousin, Simba is also there." I saw her head tilt to the side, with my added drop of information.
"Simba? who's Simba?" she sat down next to me.
"His father, was the original ruler of pride rock before my father took over. The lion my grandfather stupidly made king."
" and your father, let him live? why?" which is something I thought of many a time. my father already two heirs, why keep my cousin? Did he not know this could have been problematic for my future, my goals? he had to have known, he was my father. He thought of everything. this was a way of still trying to teach me from the dead. I haven't gotten rid of all my enemies until they are all, in the ground dead. Family and all.
"My father had a way of...teaching us. He said rivalries made the best of friends. Now's he's on his way here to challenge me."
"...challenge you? but wouldn't that mean..."
"Yes, he wants to kill me."
"My love you can take him easily." her confidence in me was encouraging, but it was not enough to make me lose sight of reality and become stupid. My cousin was naturally always stronger than me and with the loss of my eye. He's already given another advantage over me. This will be challenging for me indeed.
"Easily yes, but fair?" then it hit me, I knew I had to start preparing and fast. I quickly got up and began to leave. "I'll be back, don't wait up for me."
"wait Nuka i...i- nevermind, go." I watched her turn and head back into the den. whatever she had to say must not have been important. whatever it is can wait until this is all aid and gone with.
* says I'll post another chapter later...works a 13-hour shift, now thinks...this is suicided lol. Post chapter at 12 am mission accomplished.
