"Captured"
Sakura stared at the back of the photo, scrutinizing the handwriting on it. "Li...Syaoran," she said to herself as she stared at the name on the photo.
It had been five hours since they had come back home from the costume party. It was five in the morning, but she had not been able to sleep one bit.
Tomoyo had crashed as soon as they got home after promising to tell Sakura everything that happened between her and Eriol, so that left no room for Sakura to even think about telling her about the vampire guy.
Vampire…
Something about that just sounded so…odd, yet believable for some reason. She could not figure out why, until her earlier conversation with the detective came to mind.
"The fingerprints date back to a man named Nakata Yosuki. This man has been dead for over 200 years now. This is why I said it's not information that could help."
That was not possible, though. Everyone knew that vampires were mythical creatures that were in fairytale stories.
She stared at the man's information on the photo before crumbling up the photo as she felt the hot tears well in the back of her eyes.
She could not understand why she was letting herself fall down this rabbit hole.
Her parents are dead. Detective Kai would have never closed the case if he believed otherwise.
Those are not her parents. They were just people this creep photoshopped to look like her parents to get whatever he wanted. She may not have been experienced a lot in her life, but she was no fool to men and their tricks.
He was just some pervert trying to get her alone to do whatever thing he was doing to her at that party.
At that thought, her cheeks burned with the ugly blush that spread across her face. She could not understand what had gotten into her, letting the man violate her body like that. She had been put in multiple predicaments like that, but she had always been able to stop anything from happening. She felt so helpless with him though—like she needed him to keep doing whatever magic he was doing on her body.
She shook her head after feeling her body heat up at the thought of their bodies pressed together like that, his lips caressing her skin so subtly, and his tongue—
"Ahh!" she exclaimed quietly, placing her hands on her head, grabbing a fistful of her auburn hair.
This was all wrong, her parents were dead, and this creep was not about to fool her.
She made a move to reach the trash bin by her bed, before she stopped abruptly. She uncrumpled the paper to look at the photo of her parents and brother staring back at her.
There was no way…
She straightened the photo out before sliding under her sheets so she could lie down as she stared at the picture. The hot tears from earlier made an appearance again, but this time, they stayed.
Maybe her parents had abandoned her and ran off somewhere else.
At that thought, the tears began to spill from her eyes, soaking her pillow.
Sakura stared at herself in the mirror, making sure she looked presentable enough to go out. It had been three days since the costume party, the masked vampire, and her finding out about her parents.
She had decided to do some extensive research on this Nakata man and people coming back to life 200 years later, which…vampires showed up. She ignored that information, trying to find something logical that the detectives would believe. She could not just spring in their claiming that this Nakata man was a vampire. They already thought she was a lunatic, so telling them this would just further prove their point.
She stared at the photo by her computer desk after turning away from the mirror. There must be something she could do to find her parents without using the man's help from last night. She did not want him around filling her head with anything else. She certainly did not like the way he made her feel.
She could use…
She sighed, realizing how hopeless this entire thing was. She had promised Kai that she would drop this, but now…she had let some creep change her mind about dropping the case.
Maybe she should use the creep…
No! Snap out of it, Sakura!
She would just go down to the police station and show the detectives the picture and tell them about last night. Even though the creep had told her not to tell anyone about their situation, she knew she had to. There was nothing else she could do on her own.
Besides…that man had kind of threatened her, so she felt she needed a little protection, or something.
It may not have been enough information to convince Kai to continue the case, but it was worth a shot, she reasoned.
She grabbed the photo from her desk, stuffing it in her bag, and then giving herself one last glance over before leaving her room.
"Tomoyo, I'm going down to the station!" she called out.
"What?" she heard her best friend distinctively call before hearing her footsteps. "What was that?" she asked, once she got to where Sakura is.
"I'm going down to the station," Sakura repeated, clutching the straps of her bag. She braced herself for what is to come.
Tomoyo had been very supportive of Sakura for all these years, but began to think Sakura had formed some kind of obsession with it, so she started to worry about her. She had wanted Sakura to find her parents, but thought it was almost impossible and just wanted her to move on with her life.
"I thought he was closing the case?" she asked, smiling at her sadly.
Sakura swallowed, not sure what to tell her best friend. She did not want to give any information unless she was certain about all of it. "Yeah…but I think I've found more evidence," she said slowly.
"Oh?" Tomoyo said, raising a brow. "That's great. What else have you found?"
Sakura looked at her, only to see sincerity and support in her eyes. "I'll tell you when I get back," she promised, smiling at her. "I just want to make sure it'll be worth it."
Tomoyo smiled at her, nodding her head. "I understand," she said.
Sakura felt a little guilty keeping this from her best friend, especially knowing that Tomoyo knew she was hiding something from her. She had to play this safe, though. Plus, this creep could be dangerous, so she did not want to bring Tomoyo into anything she did not know she was getting herself into.
"I'll see you shortly, 'kay?"
"Be safe," Tomoyo said.
Sakura bid her goodbye before leaving the house quickly.
She decided to drive her car down to the station, practicing how the conversation would go between her and the detective. Li Syaoran's information on the back would definitely come in handy now.
When she pulled up to the station, she took deep breaths before opening her car door to step out in the fresh air.
She could not even understand why she was doing all of this before her graduation. This was so much stress on her, but she knew it would all be worth it in the end when her parents were finally with her again.
They abandoned you, remember?
She ignored the voice in the back of her head. She had already convinced herself that, that was not the case here. If anything, they were kidnapped and held hostage now.
She nodded at that thought before walking towards the station.
"I don't think that's a good idea, 'kura," she heard a familiar silky voice behind her, making her entire body freeze in her tracks.
The way the voice sent deathly chills down her body, caressing every part of her covered skin, reminded her of the night of the costume party.
She did not even bother to turn to see the beautiful man. "We're in front of a police station that has camera's outside of the building, I'd tread lightly if I were you," she said in a stern tone, though she felt her entire being grow weak at being in the presence of the powerful man.
She had to stand strong and confident, though. He lost his opportunity of seeing the nice and sweet Sakura. She could no longer be nice to a man who seemed like a threat to her now.
"Does it look like I give a fuck about cameras?" he asked, a lot closer than she expected.
Had he moved?
"What do you want? I won't scream, I won't run, but just don't do anything stupid that'll make me," she said cautiously, though she wanted to do just all of those things.
"I want you to come with me," he said. "Turn around and look at me."
"No," she said, not wanting to fall into his trap again. "I don't want your help with anything, now could you—"
"It took you three days to make a decision, and this is the one you choose? To go to these people who haven't helped you one bit in finding your parents? I'm trying to help you," he said in a cold tone, even sounding irritated that she had chosen this route.
"Yes," she said confidently. "I want these people to help. There's 20 of them, while there's only one of you. They're trained to do this—"
"What are you trying to do? Show them the picture of your family that I gave you? Tell them that your parents are alive and that's the proof?" he asked.
She gasped, feeling his breath brush against her ear. She suddenly could not speak.
"Do you know how imprudent you will look? How this will prove nothing? It's just a photo of people, Kinomoto. Turn around and look at me," he said, starting to sound angry.
She was going to show them the photo, but not just to prove that they were alive. She had been planning to tell them to look up Li Syaoran's name to see who he is and what they could find on him. She would have then gave them the information on the back of the photo to find where he was, and force answers out of him. It would be torturous, but she would be able to save her parents.
He did not need to know all of that, though.
She made a move to walk, but she felt an iron grip on her wrist, making her stop. "You're not going in there," he said sternly.
She attempted to pull her arm back from him, but he held her tighter. "Let go, now," she said calmly. "I'm trying to do this without any trouble. Let me go now before I scream."
She could feel the panic begin to rise in her chest, but she tried to remain calm.
"You're coming with me so we can see your parents. Don't make me do this by force," he said.
Her eyes widened after hearing the word force.
"I tried to do this the nice way by proposing the offer the other night—hell, I even gave you enough time to think about this, but you just had to come here and make me do this by force," he said.
"Let me go!" she suddenly yelled, knowing there was no other way she could get out of this.
"Shut the fuck up," he hissed.
"Help me! Detective Kai—ah!"
She froze before seeing black.
Syaoran paced back and forth in the dark room, trying to figure out what to do about what he had just done.
So he bit her and now had her chained up in this basement. None of it seemed creepy at all, he thought sarcastically.
All these years he had been keeping up with her, protecting her, he had remained hidden so he would not seem like a creep, but he does this. Now he certainly felt creepy.
He knew better than biting her like that in public—especially in front of a police station. What if someone had saw him? What if he had exposed their kind to mankind so early on in the mission? What would Nakata have done to him?
He ran a shaky hand through his unruly chestnut hair. He needed something to eat—preferably not the woman tied up in his basement.
He had not expected her to be so foolish and go against him, but here he is, having to force her to come with him.
"Damn it!" he exclaimed, knocking the table over in the room he could perfectly see in with all the lights off.
"Think, think, think..." he chanted, trying to figure out what he could do to fix this mess he just created.
He could have taken a softer approach by slyly coercing her away from the station.
What had been her plan going there anyway? Did she not understand how crazy she would look showing that picture to them? Those people clearly did not care about her like he did. He wanted to reunite her with her family, but she just had to cooperate and go along with the plan.
The sound of chains rattling interrupted his thoughts. It was downstairs in the basement, but he heard it loud and clear.
Apparently, the woman had awakened.
"Just fucking great," he murmured under his breath before heading down the hall where the door to the basement is down the stairs.
He grabbed the knob tightly, trying to conjure up what to say to the woman.
She would surely spit fire at him, something that never set well with him.
He turned the doorknob before pushing it open. He walked down the stairs slowly, feeling the anticipation rise in his chest at the sound of her heart beating and erratic breathing.
The moment he reached the bottom, the chains rattled as she gasped, staring at him wide-eyed. "What the hell do you think you're doing, you creep?" she exclaimed, pulling against the chains tightly. "Let me free!"
"There's no use in struggling, you won't get free," he said in a bland tone, staring at her helpless form.
The chains wrapped around her small wrist were double-knotted and were attached to the railing in the room on either side of the room.
He may have gone a little overboard, but he knew no other way to tame her. This position left her in a vulnerable state, and she would not be able to leave.
"Let me go! Help! Someone, help me—!"
Syaoran was at her side in a split second, covering her mouth with his icy hand. "I'd advise you to shut that hole in your face because no one will hear you," he hissed angrily.
She yelled in his hand, pulling against the chains, as she squirmed to get away from him. She had been on the ground on her knees in a submissive position.
She licked his hand, which he knew she thought would phase him, yet it did the opposite. It stirred him on in the sickest way possible.
"Look at me," he said, forcing her face to look him directly in the eyes.
Immediately, she closed her eyes tightly, surprising him.
Had she caught on to his trick?
No prey had ever been able to resist his charms, nor even fought to. That is how he got his food so quick and easy, yet this woman caught on and was trying her damnedest not to fall under his spell.
"Please, let me go. I'll get you whatever you need. I have...money. Lots of it," she said, keeping her eyes closed tightly.
"I want you to come with me so we can see your parents," he said. When he said that out loud, he realized how ridiculous it sounded. He was trying to convince her to see her own parents.
"I don't want your help! I can do this on my own. I..."
Syaoran remained quiet for a moment, waiting for her to open her eyes.
Her eyes opened slowly, looking him directly in his. He could tell she instantly fell under his spell because the tears seemed to stop themselves from falling. For some reason, he did not feel the need to take advantage this time.
"I know you've been through so much pain, but you have to trust me with this," he said in a smooth voice, hoping he could convince her.
He had to get on her good side to make this plan work.
Her cheeks warmed when he caressed her face unconsciously. "Why should I trust you?"
"Because I'm the one who's going to protect you," he said.
"Protect me from what? I'm in no danger, so I don't need any protection," she said, pulling against the chains weakly now.
She was still trying to fight the spell he had over her right now.
He could feel himself grow excited, seeing how vulnerable and willing she would be to anything he tried right now.
He slid his hand down her face slowly, letting them rest on the pulse of her neck.
She felt so warm and...alive. He only had brief memories of himself alive, so the thought of being alive never really excited him like it should have probably.
"You will be, no matter what you choose to do—whether you come with me to see your parents or not," he said.
She glared at him weakly. "Stop it with this nonsense about my parents. I don't want to hear it anymore. I just want to be free," she said.
He wrapped his hand around her neck gently, forcing her to focus solely on him. "I'm trying to help you, so why can't you see that?" he spat, starting to get annoyed with her lack of trust in him.
"I don't want your help, so please..."
Seeing her eyes water again, he released her before turning away from her. He could never stand to see the look on her face when those tears came to life.
"You just don't know that you need my help yet," he said, just loud enough for her to hear. "If you would just do this willingly, things would work out. You'd be able to see your parents finally."
"Where are they, then? Just tell me where they are and I might just believe you," she said challengingly.
"They're in Brazil," he said.
"Release me," she said, sounding like she had enough of this.
"You have to believe me," he said, hoping to convince her.
He did not know what Nakata was thinking, telling him to wait this long to take her to her parents.
"Why should I believe you?"
"Because, I'm not what you think I am," he said.
"What are you, then? What do you expect me to think when you have me tied up in your basement!" she exclaimed, pulling against the chains.
"Because you did a foolish thing. You tried to turn me in," he said, feeling himself grow angry at that thought.
She would have ruined the entire plan if she had exposed him.
Her breath caught in her throat, as if she were surprised by her exposure. "What?"
"That's why you went down there to the station, isn't it?" he asked, skeptically.
"No, I was just going to ask them to reopen the case—"
"Don't lie to me," he interrupted, annoyed that she was trying to lie to him.
His eyes landed on her chest as it began to rise up and down faster as her breathing picked up. "What do you want? You might as well just do what you want now instead of leaving me in suspense," she said, glaring at him. "I'm not afraid of you."
He stared at her, wondering how she had so much control right now.
"I've already told you what I want," he said, starting to circle her now.
He could see the discomfort in her posture as his eyes studied every inch of her skin he could see.
"You want me to go to Brazil with you?" she asked. "What are you trying to do? Why are you doing this?"
"Because I want to help you," he said.
"By acting like some wild animal eating on humans?" she asked, turning her head around towards him.
Shit.
He had forgotten to erase her memory of that.
He kept quiet, trying to come up with an explanation for that. He knew he had to tell her eventually, especially if they were going to fall through with the plan.
Maybe now would be the time, he thought.
"I'm going to show you something that you've never seen before, but I need you to trust me," he said.
Her brows scrunched together as she gave him a look that made him feel like he had lost his mind. "What reason do I have to trust a man who has me tied up in his basement? Have you lost your mind? Let me go! Now—!"
"Shh," he hissed, annoyed with her yelling.
"Let me go! Let me go! Help me, someone! Please—"
He grabbed her neck tightly, shutting her up immediately. "Keep that hole in your mouth shut or you won't be able to use it anymore," he said tightly.
She barely gasped, pulling at the chains as she tried to fight for her life to breathe.
He did not have it tight enough to kill her, but tight enough to stop her vocal chords from speaking.
"Now, when I release you, you'll know better than to make any sound," he threatened.
She nodded vigorously, pulling against the chains harder.
His eyes flew to the chains, seeing ugly bruise marks forming on her wrist.
He released her, stepping back from her slightly.
She coughed, trying to catch her breath.
If he were human, he may not have even been capable of doing that, but she gave him no choice.
She was trying to make this mission much more complicated than it needed to be.
He knew it would be hard to convince her to come all the way across the world with him. Hell, he might not have even agreed to go with a stranger, but she had to. If she did not come with him, Nakata would send someone else to do the mission who would put her through so much worst.
He chose to do this mission to keep her protected. And he wanted to. He just needed her to cooperate with him to get this done. So, yes, if he had to torture her a little to get this mission done, he would do it.
When he saw the tears well in her eyes, the thought of pain came to mind.
He really did not want to do this to her. She was the woman he would be spending his life with for eternity.
"I don't want to hurt you," he said quietly.
"Then let me go..." she said weakly.
He sighed, knowing this would not go as planned today. "I guess we will try again tomorrow," he said, walking towards the door slowly.
"What? Wait, you can't leave me down here!" she exclaimed, pulling on the chains.
"Are you ready to go to Brazil then?" he asked, turning back to her as he held the doorknob.
When she went quiet, he turned away. "Like I said, we'll try again tomorrow," he said before walking out the basement, closing the door behind him.
He knew what he was doing was hurting her, but he had to. He wanted to protect her from all of this, but he knew he had no choice. He wished he could undo everything that was about to happen, but he knew this was fate.
In order to make things easier for all of their benefits, he had to do this.
And he would.
A/N: I know it's almost been a year since I updated this story, but I'm trying to get everything situated in my life, because I'm no longer in college. I've been trying to work on my stories for the past few days before I take this test for grad school next week, but after that, I should have more free time until next fall semester! Thank you all so much for the reviews and support you've been giving me with this story also!
Anyway, I know you guys may not be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel right now, as Syaoran is the mean, heartless man right now. He will get better, but he is one of the villains in the story right now. But, what do you guys think will be the pivotal event that change Syaoran? Will he even change? But more importantly, what will he do to convince Sakura?
