Chapter 31
Anton had received a message for his team the queen was on her way to him. It seemed as if the Queen's security team had been lost. Once Riley arrived at his location she'd join him in his vehicle leaving her limo behind. He didn't want any tracking device on her limo to be used to find them. He got out of his car as the limo approached. Once the vehicle stopped Anton opened the door and offered his hand to Riley. She glared at him but took it. Anton smiled saying, "We're ditching your limo here. I can't have anyone know where I am taking you." He walked her to the other car and helped her inside before joining her. Anton pointed to the man next to Riley saying, "This is your new guard George."
Riley looked at George and then Anton before saying, "Don't you mean my jailer he's not going guard me but keep me locked up." Anton scoots closer to her saying, "Are you enjoying my brilliant plans?" Riley rolls her eyes saying, "Oh yes so original kidnap the queen. Let me guess next is to let everyone know you have me and state your demands." Anton's eyes narrow before mumbling lucky guess under his breath. Anton recovers saying, "I plan to keep you as queen the public loves you and that will make me being king easier on me. You can even keep the brat then I will only have to knock up my wife once for the heir." Riley shook her head turning to look at George sizing him up weighing her chances against him. George is a well-built man there is no doubt that he could win in a battle of brawn. She will have to beat him in brains or speed. She sighed speed was no longer an option she was too pregnant to be fast. Riley began strategizing there wasn't much she could do surrounded in a moving vehicle. Once they go to their destination that changed everything She'd have to look for an opening.
Anton breaks the silence saying, "They won't find you where we are held up and if they do. They won't be able to retrieve you from the stronghold. It's designed for war so unless there is an army which Cordonia doesn't have. You will remain, my prisoner, until I am king. Liam will hand it to me gift-wrapped to keep you and his heir safe." Riley smirks asking, "Can you keep me and his heir safe Anton?" Shock crosses his face but Riley continues, "I have more enemies than you, Anton. The one you have to fear the most is me." Anton's confused he never did understand her when he was Justin her press secretary. She was so unpredictable he had hoped to understand her better. He still had no clue on how to deal with her. Anton scoffed saying, " You're not going anywhere, my dear. Your huge escape for you is impossible Riley might as well put it out of your head."
It seemed like hours before the vehicle finally came to a stop. Anton got out first George urged Riley forward forcing her to take Anton's hand. George gets out right after her taking her other side. Riley rolls her eyes taking in the open courtyard noting it would be easier to escape at night. Anton and George lead her into the stronghold at the grand entrance stands a woman saying, "About time." Riley takes in Lucretia she smiles saying, "It looks like I have found the real boss here." Lucretia grins replying, "Damn straight we all know men are only good for sex." Riley looks at her questioningly saying, "I can believe George but Anton?" George swallows hard at the implication. Anton glares at Lucretia replying, "I'm the boss and I'm a beast in the sack she'd be lucky if I fucked her."
Riley looked between the two and then to George she sighs saying, "Should I go to my prison while you children play king of the mountain? I'm sure George will happily take me." Anton turns waving George off as he turns back to deal with Lucretia. George takes Riley's arm as he leads her through the stronghold. They finally made it to the tower stairs causing Riley to roll her eyes at George. They made their way up the stairs and was glad when they finally reached a door near the top. She looked at George heaving heavily saying, "You need to train more it's sad when a pregnant woman can out walk you." Riley shook her head and opened the door heading inside the room. Upon entering the room Riley was surprised the space was nice. To her right was a reading corner with a small desk that could be used for work. To the left were a couch and TV. She had seen several doors the first door was a staircase going up. Riley figured it went to the roof. The second door was a small closet and the last door was a master suite. She explored the large bedroom with the walk-in closet and attached bathroom.
Riley sat on the couch and turned on the TV George had caught his breath and joined her. Riley pointed to the TV saying, "Look I'm on the news." Sure enough, they were reporting on her kidnapping from the library. Bastien was standing in front of the press going over the details of the abduction and discovery of the Limo she had been in. Bastien told them that the security team was searching the area and the Limo looking for any clues as to where the queen had been taken. He then announced that Regina in the palace had an announcement to make. Soon the palace appeared on the screen and Regina stood in front of the press. Regina stepped forward saying, "Even with all of the Queen's work we are still vulnerable. The queen had been working hard on getting a military formed with much difficulty. She had negotiated to have them consider a reserved military for if and when they were needed.
Madeleine stood next to Regina she nodded saying, "Regina and I are calling for all able body men and women interested in joining to come to the palace. We want you on the team to rescue the queen. After she's been recovered there will be training requirements and you will receive funds for participating. Hopefully, this will show the council that our Country is in need of a military force. We need to be safe from our enemies and to keep our rulers safe at all times." Regina smiled saying, "Please come forward if you can handle the physical demands. We will send you to the King and you will make your way to the queen once we have an idea of where she was taken. To whoever took her give up and release the queen. Your life may be spared by doing so."
