Chapter 32
Anton was in the doorway and he looked rather pissed off. "What the hell have you been up to," he yells from the doorway. Riley shrugs before replying, "Doing my job as queen and trying not to have to worry about being kidnapped. It seems I failed in that didn't I?" Anton rolls his eyes before saying, "Lucretia will search you for weapons." Riley watched as Lucretia quickly patted her down quickly acting like the act was a waste of her time. Riley almost chuckled at Lucretia she had done a horrible job considering she was in fact armed. Riley resisted laughing at her two captors. She smiled as Liam appeared on the TV. Riley spoke up saying, "Anton I believe the king is about to address you." Riley sighed Liam looked so good in his regal suit and metals. Riley's eyes raked his body and she licked her lips her king always looked good.
Liam held up a hand to quiet the crowd. He approached the microphone and said, "First I'd like to thank all those who are coming forward to be a part of our new military. Having a military force doesn't make us weak it makes us smart and ready to protect Cordonia from harm. There are those who wish to take over Cordonian we can't allow that to ever happen. Anton, I am sure you have the queen and the heir to the crown. You and all those helping you are all guilty of treason. The sentence for treason is death there are few exceptions. I wouldn't hope to qualify for the exception to the rule. I will not have a treat to the crown continue to be free to try again. No one involved will ever be free again." Cheers erupted followed by chants of Long live the King and Queen of Cordonia.
Anton growled in annoyance shooting a glare at the queen. Riley rolled her eyes at Anton saying, "Don't growl at me this wasn't my idea. You were the brilliant mastermind behind this." Riley rubbed her belly feeling the baby kick. She figured it was hearing Liam's voice that triggered the kicking. The baby loved it when Liam talked to it. She sighed hopefully the baby wouldn't keep her up tonight. Riley knew she'd have to come up with plans for escape tomorrow after getting some much-needed rest. Riley heard Liam again saying, "Anton return our queen tonight or we will be forced to track you down and attack you. You will lose as we already have an idea of where you went. For now, Cordonia should rest assured rescue of the queen will begin tomorrow first thing." Liam turned and went back into the duchy.
Anton glared at her saying, "Woman you went and made my easy task very difficult." Riley replied, "I did nothing. I must thank you though. I have been trying for months to get them to agree to a military force in Cordonia. I kept getting the that will make us look weak reply. Next time I want something I may just have to kidnap myself it seems very effective." Anton stood up growling in annoyance. Riley asked, "Can I get food the baby keeps me hungry most of the time." Anton looked at George saying, "Call the kitchen and get her something to eat while I think." Lucretia threw her hands up into the air saying, "Just get Olivia and move them both underground until we've killed the king. I don't know why you're even considering keeping him alive he's useless."
Anton growled again saying, "I need him at least until the baby is here. I doubt she'd behave otherwise." Lucretia scoffed at him saying, "She's nothing and if the people didn't love her so much we could kill her too. It's inconvenient that we will have to tolerate her until the public loves you and Olivia. That spawn needs to go too we can't have an heir to the crown related to them or your child won't be the rightful heir. I don't understand you keeping her beyond killing the king." Anton glared at Lucretia yelling, "You know nothing that is why I am the leader and not you. Now stop your whining before I decide you're not worth the trouble anymore."
A knock the door ended the argument Lucretia pulled the door open letting the staff in that had food for Riley. Riley had George try everything and waited an hour before eating herself causing Lucretia to roll her eyes. Riley ate looking at Anton finally she said, "You should respond to the King. It's not like I am going anywhere tonight." Anton nodded leaving with Lucretia, Riley waved at them as they left. George blinked at her wondering how she had just managed to control Anton with very little effort. Riley looked at George saying, "I'd recommend changing whose side you're on George. Right now I promise you you're on the losing side and My husband won't be forgiving. Now if you don't mind I'm going to bed." Riley went into the bedroom not caring where George was going to sleep. She'd worry about an escape plan in the morning. She sighed knowing that falling asleep would be difficult for her but she hoped her fatigue would help with that. She grabbed the extra pillow on the bed to cuddle with it would have to do as a replacement Liam.
Anton made a phone call to one of his men who then released a prerecorded video to go to the press. Lucretia was fuming at Anton she glared at the man. Lucretia said, "It seems that you're already following the queen's commands." Anton scoffed at the annoying woman saying, "I had already planned on replying to the King it has nothing to do with what the Queen suggested. Now go get Olivia as you promised to do. I need her here by tomorrow." Lucretia turned on her heal cursing under her breath storming out the door.
