Chapter 41

Riley took her daughter to her breast for her first meal as Liam wrapped his arm around her. "What should we name her", He asked. Riley replied, "I was thinking Kenna Elizabeth." Liam smiled nodding in agreement before saying, "Our daughter is going to be one of the fiercest and strongest Queens in history. The name suits her."

Bastien returned saying, "As long as you both are doing well we can return as soon as tomorrow. I believe we have a brief stop at the palace before returning to the dutchy until the princess is at least 8 weeks old. Then you'd have to return to the palace to go through all the heir to the throne traditions."

A servant entered with some clothing and a pile of cloth diapers placing them on top of the dresser before turning and leaving the room quietly. Riley handed the baby to Bastien saying, "I think grandpa should have some time with her before he has to get back to work." Liam nodded in agreement. He'd have way more opportunities to hold Kenna then, Bastien would. Once she was in his arms Riley said, "Grandpa meet Kenna."

Bastien raised an eyebrow before replying, "I think I will let Kenna name me. Perhaps I will be lucky and she'll call me poppy." He looked at his granddaughter with awe. He was looking forward to watching her grow up. "one day Kenna I will be helping your daddy chase all the boys away," Bastien said with a chuckle. He reluctantly handed Kenna to Liam patting him on the back saying, "She's going to be a beauty like her mother when she grows up."

Liam looked at Kenna nodding placing his finger in her tiny hand. "We will have to start a new tradition the three of us. Drake, you and I take the princess on a date night. So when she eventually takes an interest in a guy he'll have a high bar to reach for." Riley rolled her eyes only minutes old and the men in her life were already plotting to keep all potential suitors away from her. "Alright boys out with you I need to sleep." Liam nods kissing Riley on the forehead. He takes Kenna with him so that Riley can get some much-needed rest.

Liam smiled holding his daughter covered in a diaper and a blanket as he rocked her. Drake came over and looked at the baby saying, "Congratulations brother." Liam smiled replying, "Thanks I'm going to have my hands full with this one. We'll be beating the noble boys off with sticks when she's older." Drake chuckled before responding, "Between her Grandpa head of the king's guard, myself and you. They'd have to be pretty darn brave to even try. Either that or foolishly in love." Liam chuckles before replying, "Hopefully we'll find one that loves her. I want her to have what I do when she grows up."

Kenna starts fussing causing Liam to have to get up to bounce her. Riley came out of the bedroom heading straight to Liam. She said, "I believe she's hungry." Liam nodded reluctantly handing her over to Riley. Riley threw a blanket over her shoulder as she sat down. Once covered and sitting Riley exposed her breast and placed Kanna at her breast allowing her daughter to have a meal. After Kenna finishes and is burped Riley changes her diaper before taking her to bed.

They spent three days with Olivia before Liam felt confident that both were fit for travel back home. Bastien escorted the royal family to the limo and drove them to the palace. He took them to the back entrance to avoid any press since they'd only be here for a brief time. Liam was the first to get out once the vehicle stopped. He helped Riley out of the Limo escorting her straight to the palace physician so they both could be looked over. Liam paced as he waited for the physician to check both of his girls out. Time seemed to slow down while he waited for the doctor to be done. The door finally opened to the room and the doctor motioned Liam inside. He smiled saying, "Your majesty both ladies are in good health. There is nothing to worry about. The queen does need to follow up with her doctor once the princess is 8 weeks old. The princess herself should have a check-up around then too."

Liam nodded and thanked the doctor. He took Riley and Kenna to where his father was waiting on them. Once they reached Constantine's office Liam opened the door for Riley. Riley entered holding Kenna in her arms. Liam escorted her to the sofa and helped her sit down. Constantine smiled at his granddaughter saying, "She's beautiful. She reminds me of Liam when he was born." He turned to his son adding, "Everything you requested is done I hope you two know what you are doing."

Liam nodded saying, "We do. I am positive that you will be surprised how many will sign. Plus we have our new army that will have 8 weeks of hardcore training so that by the announcement we will be able to defend our country and it's borders. They will either agree or leave and govern what they own how they see fit. They will also have to answer to their people. Now I am going to take the queen home and we will return once the princess is ready to be declared the heir to the throne."

Liam stood to help Riley up from her seat. With the help of Bastien, Liam helped Riley back to the limo and soon they were on their way home. Liam was happy when the limo finally came to a stop in front of the Valtoria castle that was their home. Liam was the first out and he wasn't the least bit surprised when there was a crowd at the entrance. Thankfully security had them a considerable distance away. Liam assisted Riley out of the vehicle while both Bastien and George join him on either side.

Liam made his way to the entrance of the duchy. He paused holding his hand up to the cheering crowd of people. Once they silenced he said, "As you can see the queen is safe and sound. Cordonia is proud to have a brand new princess that the queen has named Kenna. Now I must get them inside." Liam turned back to his wife bringing her into the duchy. Once inside the staff congratulated the couple getting a glimpse of the princess.
