Innocence Of A Child Chapter 20
Back with Belle and Cosette they are busy being dolled up by Madame de Garderobe. Madame de Garderobe is really enjoying using her craft after so long.
Those in the castle all will agree later on that she's truly outdone herself this time. Just as she did when the three of them first met Madame de Garderobe uses the two sisters as canvases for their art.
Cosette was first up and she was extremely delighted with the gown Madame de Garderobe put together for her. It's a pink dress with a flared gown of chiffon and a bodice that's covered with equally stunning designs and pink fabric. As young Cosette twirls and marvels at it Madame de Garderobe works her magic on Belle.
"Oh. Beautiful," said Madame de Garderobe, marveling at Belle. "But something is missing. Oh yes. The finishing touch."
Madame de Garderobe commences with the finishing touches on Belle's ensemble. She then calls down gold from the ceiling, mixing it into the fabric on Belle's ball gown to make it even more fabulous.
Finally it was done the two sisters are ready for the dance.
The two head down to the newly revitalized ballroom where Beast is already waiting for them in his finery and well-groomed appearance.
Cosette giggles at her sister's slight blush. Belle good-naturedly nudges Cosette in reply. Cosette can already tell that Beast is pretty nervous about this, but is keeping it together for appearances. Beast seemed frozen until Lumiere beckons him forward with a bit of encouragement. The three of them then walk down their sides of the massive staircase in sync, meeting in the middle.
Beast hesitantly offers Belle his arm and to his pleasure she accepts it. Cosette holds her other hand as they descend the remainder of the way down the stairs.
Cosette lets go in order to stand with Mrs. Potts and Chip.
Belle and Beast continue the rest of the way into the center of the ballroom as music begins to play. Then lightly Mrs. Potts starts to sing as two begin to dance with elegance and grace.
.
Tale as old as time
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Then somebody bends
Unexpectedly
Just a little change
Small to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared
Beauty and the Beast
Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
And ever just as sure
As the sun will rise, woah
Tale as old as time, a-a-ay
Tune as old as song, oh
Bitter-sweet and strange
Finding you can change
Learning you were wrong
.
As the two are enjoying themselves a thought suddenly strikes beast. He stops holds up a finger silently asking Belle to wait. Everyone observes in curiosity as he walks over to where Cosette is standing.
Smiling when he reaches her, kneeling downward and holding out a hand to Cosette, Beast said "May I have this dance."
Cosette giggles in cheerfulness, accepting the offer. Cosette takes his hand and Beast leads her onto the dance floor. This time Belle steps back a little as Beast places Cosette to stand on his feet. He then dances through light steps so that Cosette doesn't feel left out. This is so much fun for Cosette. Belle is happy Cosette gets to experience something like this.
.
Certain as the sun
Rising in the east
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the Beast
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the Beast
.
As the dance and music comes to an end Cosette sighs, snuggling into Beasts soft fur in a content hug.
Belle then rejoins the two and so the three of them head out onto the terrace to enjoy more of the evening with all the others leaving to grant some privacy.
This is the moment they've been waiting for.
Authors Note:
September 11th has come and gone once again. I was very young when it happened. Don't know about all of you, but I certainly was really scared. One minute I was at elementary school in class and the next my parents are pulling me out, taking my little sister and I home. That's when we learned the truth. The Twin Towers we'd see all the time whenever we traveled outside the city limits on road trips would no longer be there. We were stunned when we'd seen them destroyed on TV. Those trips were never the same again just like the lives of millions. In honor for the people that fell that day and to those still struggling to survive from the aftermath I suggest a moment of respective silence. I think we all can use that.
Hope you all like this one! I certainly did while writing it for your vast enjoyment! ;D
I've been meaning to get back to this franchise for a while and only now I've managed to find time and inspiration for it
Big time heads up! Article 13 is on the move again. Our freedom of speech is seriously on the line. Find a legitimate petition that is fighting this decision and sign onto it. Every signature counts to keep what we love alive.
I recently put up some other works I've put out at titled Secret Of Bristol Cove, Predators Redemption, A Revolutionary Romance, Fantine Tezla: Hot Wheels Acceleracers, Magic And the Brave Little Toaster 1, Lavinia: Princess Of Edelweiss, and Nuala: The White Lioness. I highly recommend them. ;D
I have other grand news! I'm going to New York Comic Con! Ah! I've been dying to go for years and now I have the opportunity. The Jokers from Impractical Jokers have been here along with Tom Hiddleston and so many others. Over the next few days I'll be getting my picture taken with a couple of other actors/actresses. It really is so exciting here. This is an opportunity of a lifetime so there's no way in hell that I'm going to waste a single second of it. So wish me luck, my friend, with the last of Comic Con. ;D
For future preferences I highly recommend that you all keep an eye out for when tickets for New York Comic Con are available for purchase again for next year. This is a huge event and you should jump on it whenever you have the chance.
