So with that said, Here we go.
The conversation with the Hokage went better than expected for Koi. He seemed the understand her concerns and agreed that coming to him was the best thing to do. Still fresh in her mind are the very words that brought a faint smile to her face, he still cares. She sighed as the wind blew her sapphire hair out of place. It seemed that going back to see the Hokage for today's mission would be worse than yesterday's report on the letter. She looked up at the sky and for a brief moment, she wished she could just swim away and forget everything. Like the fish from the river of her home or in the sea. What should give to just forget for a few moments and be a happy guppy in the water?
"Yo." A voice appeared beside her making her jump to the side. She was a joinin. An elite jonin and she was just scared. Koi let her guard down. Of course, she did. Kakashi stood next to the spot Koi recoiled from. With a quick glare, she punched the masked man.
"Hatake Kakashi!" She yelled between each punch, "You can go to hell! You are such as ass! How could you scare me like that!" Kakashi tried to dodge the punches, laughing. How could he not take the opportunity to scare one of his best friends? It was a past time he rather enjoyed as much as he did his competitions with Guy.
"Koi-chan," He continued to laugh, "Please stop." Koi stopped and glared. The pair had gathered a crowd around them. The old women just smiled and whispered about how they were such a cute couple.
"I hate you, Hatake Kakashi."
"And yet here were are, Koi-chan." He began to walk down the road leaving Koi behind. She ignored the small crowd and followed suit. She had heard the women gossiping and didn't think about it. Lord Hokage had put them with a team together, even though it was a conflict of interest. He had stated that it was beneficial for not only Sora but the entire team first. Plus teaching a team would be a bit different. Koi crossed her arms, thinking about what would happen. Would she see Kisame on a mission with the team? How would they all react? How would Kisame respond? What about Kakashi? What would those two do? Would they fight? Shake hands? Koi only shook her head at the idea of Kisame and Kakashi shaking hands over Koi. No way in hell would happen. Perhaps hell would freeze over. Kakashi and herself only made out once, but that was it. But Kisame was the only man Koi had been with. She wanted to keep it that way. Would Kisame assume that she had slept with Kakashi? No. Never.
A blush crept across her cheeks as she shook the thoughts from her head. Perhaps these were some of the things Koi shouldn't be thinking. Kakashi began to feel the emotional tension that Koi brought upon herself. She tried to think of other things to displace certain thoughts. Puppies. Fish. Sharks. Blood. Chum. Sharkmen. Kisame. Bed. Naked. Blue and peach. Tangled in sheets.
"What in the actual hell am I thinking?" Koi cursed under her breath as her ears burned red.
"Someone is thinking dirty thoughts," Kakashi sang. Koi gasped and hurled herself at Kakashi ready to pummel him once more.
"Shut your mouth, pervert!" She scolded, "I'm not one reading smut in public."
"I only read it for the plot." He argued teasingly. Kakashi knew that she was thinking about Kisame. It was always easy for him to tell. While he did care for Koi and wished to take things a bit farther, Kakashi also understood that the mysterious man was in the way. He was okay with that. He was okay with where they were.
"Let's go," She sighed, "We need to meet the Hokage at Naruto's."
Today was the day the fresh genin would make into teams. Sora arrived early only to find that many others were early as well. He made his way to sit beside Sasuke with his katana strapped to his back neatly.
"Yo," Sora greeted Sasuke. He only received a nod from the lonesome Uchiha. Sora and Sasuke got along and would even be called acquaintances. They didn't rival each other and were able to communicate efficiently if need be. Sasuke acknowledged Sora's intelligence even though he favored acting like Naruto. Speaking of the boy, Naruto bounded in the classroom and took his place next to Sora, giddy as he should be.
"Hee hee," he giggled, "I can't believe I'm here, Sora-kun!" Sora was proud of his best friend. He finally was able to become a shinobi just like he wanted. The day before, Sora was a bit worried about his friend. He was a hyperactive and as always a knucklehead. Yet, there he was. Eager and ready to take his rightful place.
"I'm glad that you finally made it." Sora smiled.
"Only the who passed can be here, Naruto." sneered a classmate. A group of boys surrounded the end of the row agreeing.
"You see this is?" Naruto adjusted his new headband, "It means I passed."
"Read it and weep," Sora smirked. Those that gathered around looked at the pair was faces of disgust. It wasn't meant to be towards Naruto, just towards Sora. Not many in the class liked Sora. They preferred Naruto over the outsider if they had to pick. This was a common thing for them growing up. His mother tried to keep them away from the comments and looks. But to everyone else, Sora was the freak. The questions from the ignorant children and bullies haunted him, but he would prove them.
"Who asked you, freak?" one shouted. Naruto growled at the comment. Freak. Sora was no more a freak then he was. But Naruto understood Sora's anger. In a flash, Naruto watched as Sora rushed the boy and pinned him between another desk with a kunai at his throat.
"For a freak," Sora hissed, "I'm just a tad faster than you." He moved and removed the kunai before heading back to his spot. Everyone in the classroom watched as the blood lust disappeared from his eyes. His target shook as Sora sat down.
"Y-You could have killed me!"
"I could have, yes, but we are comrades. That doesn't mean I have to like you." Naruto put a hand on Sora's shoulder. If Koi found out this happened today, there would be hell to pay. It was a joint thought from both Naruto and Sasuke. Perhaps they should tell Iruka-sensei. Sora was still glaring but it was Sasuke who spoke up next. His warning was just a reminder of what the matron of the Uta clan could do.
"If Uta-san finds out you've been calling Sora a freak, death will be knocking on your door." Sora almost forgot his mother tried to adopt the young Uchiha. She felt closer to the boy since the massacre happened. Koi wanted to take him in her home and give him a place to live and grow. Sora thought the boy was okay, a good student. However, Naruto didn't see it that way. He only glared at the raven-haired boy, angry at the popularity he had rather than himself. Sora was appreciative of the boy, though, he didn't need his mother to fight his battles anymore.
"Don't bring Okaa-sama into this," Sora hissed. The gang around them started to laugh.
"Is the freak's Kaa-chan going to kill for you?" someone sang. Sora's fist tightened, coiled tight and ready to spring on the first face he could manage to hit. Another voice joined the fray, not to laugh and taunt Sora, no, Inuzuka Kiba stood beside him with Akakumaru on his head glaring at all of them.
"Koi-san could kick your asses six was from Suna and still have more for you." He growled. Not everyone was close to Naruto and Sora, but they did still manage to have a few loyal friends who knew Koi well. Well enough to tell the tale of a missing jonin that insulted the pair once. Kiba spun the tale well. Portraying Koi as a beautiful woman who if scorned could be a terrible demon to face in battle. It was a surprise on how much the boy of the dog clan knew about the Uta Princess. Sora was enthralled with the story, a retelling of a memory buried deep in his consciousness. It was not the end of the story that brought him back to reality, but the newfound vision of the floor rising to meet him.
"Get out of the way freak! I'm sitting next to Sasuke." a girl's voice growled at him.
"Ino-pig? Who said you get to sit next to Sasuke?" Another girl's voiced joined in. Naruto helped Sora up. Shooting both, Yamanaka Ino and Haruno Sakura, the evilest glares. Sora openingly questioned Naruto in his taste of women. He couldn't see Naruto and Sakura together, but then again she hates him. Both of them. Yet, she knew better than to mess with Sora. Not only was Sora stronger than her, but if she even attempted he could just laugh.
His point was quickly proven as Sora just jumped over the desk to sit beside Sasuke once more. Sakura only glared as the soon gaggle of screaming kunoichi objected his move. Sora smiled triumphantly and sat back, with his eyes closed. It was the abrupt silence that caused him to stir only moments later. Sora sat up and turned to see the horrible scene that will forever be burned into his mind. For just a brief moment, Sora was blessed and scared at the sight of Naruto's and Sasuke's lips locked on to each other
"Wait till Okaa-sama hears about this." He laughed evilly as Naruto and Sasuke spit and glare at each other, "She is going to love that you had your first kiss, Naru-chan." Naruto's response was to punch Sora, but the kunoichi's of the graduate class got to the blond first. Sora's laughter earned glares from Naruto, Sasuke, and the kunoichis. To him, it was worth the evil eyes.
"You know we are very late." Koi looked at her best friend. Kakashi only shrugged at her, not having a care in the world at the moment. She rolled her eyes. Knowing the boys, they have something planned for them. At least Naruto would. He loved his pranks and they were very late. The academy was empty when the entered it. Late indeed.
"Naruto!" a shrill voice scolded, "You're going to get us in trouble!"
"Serves him right for being late!" Naruto's voice huffed. Koi looked over at Kakashi, eyebrows raised. She noticed the chalk eraser wedged in the door. Kakashi was just happily reading. She smirked, triumphantly, as Kakashi opened the door and down the eraser plopped down. Koi stifled her laugh as Kakashi announced that he hated all of the then and asked to follow him to the roof.
"What is Koi-san doing here?" Naruto whispered
"I don't know," Sora shrugged, "Maybe she is going to watch you."
"No way! I'm a shinobi now!"
"Or maybe its because I'm here to train you?" Koi whispered as she appeared behind the boys. Sora and Naruto yelled and jumped back only to calm themselves with embarrassment and annoyance at the woman.
"I wish you wouldn't do that." scowled Sora. Koi patted his head with a victorious smile. They reached the roof and the children filed down to sit across from the two jonin. Koi was excited. Her boys were growing up. She beamed at them and looked to Sasuke who was just staring off. Once her overall look was over she took notice of the pink-haired girl before her. Something didn't sit right with her. Koi was one to know. Maybe it was just the excitement though.
"So," Kakashi began, "Let's begin by introducing ourselves."
