Hey everyone! So sorry it took me so long to post and everything. I've been really busy with college graduation, school work, job, things with my boyfriend and working on other projects.
Anyway here's the next chapter of Code Geass: The Demon and His Angel. For those of you who are reading Reunited, it is being written on-and-off so it will be posted as soon as its done. Chapter 18
"We can see the convoy that is parading the guilty Private Suzaku Kururugi to not only his hearing but his execution," a reporter stated over the television as the television screens within Britannian homes.
As Diethard spent his time spouting orders to those who had the cameras rolling, no one noticed as a replica of Prince Clovis's convoy vehicle.
As the decoy came closer to the bridge and everyone went to their places as instructed by Zero, Kallen gave Lelouch a quick kiss before placing his Zero mask over his head.
"Let's go save our childhood friend, shall we?" Lelouch said, his voice muffled by the mask and sounding slightly
Kallen nodded her head as the plan began to rescue Suzaku.
Suzaku was silent as he was led in chains towards both his parole and death sentence with four Sutherlands escorting his transit convoy.
On one side, there were his people, the Japanese, who looked at him silently as they did not want to interfere as they were afraid of what the people who rule over them would do. On the other side were Britannians, shouting insults and harsh words at him for the death of one of their beloved princes.
'Lelouch, I hope that you and that girl are okay. I'm sorry we only got to see each other for a small amount of time this time,' Suzaku thought as he closed his eyes, accepting his fate.
Jeremiah's Sutherland
Jeremiah smirked as everything was going according to what should be, as his squadron escorted the guilty Honorary Britannian.
"Sir Gowald," one of the members of his squadron called in the radio.
"What is it?" he replied in their connected com link.
"Sir, Prince Clovis's convoy truck is approaching us right now," the member stated, causing Jeremiah to stiffen and halt all advances.
'Impossible, Prince Clovis is dead. So who would slander his honor and name by doing this?' Jeremiah thought as the convoy came a stop close enough for them to see and hear whoever is pulling this "prank" but far enough that gives everyone this sense of wanting to know who did this.
"You have the wrong person on the murder of Clovis la Britannia," a voice stated through a loud speaker attached to the convoy.
"How dare you come here to say we have the wrong killer! And how dare you make a mockery of Prince Clovis!" Jeremiah stated as he exited his Sutherland, standing on the side while it was still standing upright.
The front of the convoy opened as a masked and cloaked individual rose up, giving this dramatic flare as if this was a television show that they were planning.
Inside the Convoy
Kallen watched as her boyfriend and his new outfit rose to take the "stand" and smirked gently.
'Don't worry Suzaku, we're coming to get you,' Kallen thought as she waited for her cue.
Outside Convoy
"Who are you to tell us that we have the wrong killer?" Jeremiah demanded.
"I am Zero, and I am the one who murdered Prince Clovis la Britannia as he had many Japanese slaughtered and killed. Men, women, and children were slaughtered due to his stupidity and rank within this system we call Britannia," Lelouch in his Zero costume stated in a strong, but dramatic voice as he placed his hand on his head, in an appalled manner.
The world was stunned as those who weren't at the "parading of Clovis' murdered" watched this man known as Zero come up and admit to the guilty crime.
"You say that Clovis killed the innocent but in truth they died to poisonous gas!" Jeremiah stated, trying to trick the man into letting them pass.
"I was there in that battlefield, watching the slaughter of every person within the Shinjuku Ghetto be killed by Britannian soldiers," Lelouch stated as the canister of "poisonous gas" appeared behind him.
Jeremiah stiffened and began to sweat as he knew that there was no poisonous gas within the canister but did not want the people to know what Clovis had truly been up to.
"Why would you bring that poison gas here where there are innocent men and women?!" Jeremiah called out in anger as the voices of both sides were either through harsh words towards Zero or praying that they would not die.
"Give me Private Kururugi and I will give you this canister in exchange," Zero stated, standing there as if nothing could faze him while within Lelouch was waiting for the bait to be taken.
"Give me the canister and you won't die," Jeremiah countered as his squadron raised their guns at the convoy and the murderer of Clovis.
"You shoot me, not only will Code Orange be revealed but you will never learn about something the Emperor has hidden from you, Sir Gowald," Zero stated as a part of his helmet opened to reveal a geassed eye.
"Orange, what in the blazes are you going on about?" Jeremiah was generally confused until his mind and eyes were taken under the power of the geass.
'Let the prison and us go immediately,' Lelouch's order stated within the mind of Jeremiah.
"Let the prisoner go and let them leave!" Jeremiah ordered, causing his squadron to do as he said in both confusion and anger as Suzaku walked over to Zero and the canister.
"Lower your weapon immediately," Jeremiah ordered as his squadron continued to hold their guns towards the enemy in front of them
Suzaku finally reached Zero's side but was quickly grabbed as Zero ran towards the side of the bridge once he let white smoke for their disappearance start. The convoy turned into a Sutherland that followed and landed in a separate net.
Warehouse
Suzaku was pushed into the warehouse as the Japanese Resistance stood guard outside while he and Zero were in the warehouse.
Suzaku was pacing back and forth in front of Zero, who watched him in silence and waited.
"How could you unleash poisonous gas on those innocent people back there?!" Suzaku stated in anger.
"What I used on the bridge was just theater smoke, it's completely harmless," Zero stated as the door opened and Kallen walked into the warehouse.
"Kally, you're with the terrorists!" Suzaku cried out in surprise and shock, not believing one of his own friends would do this.
"She wants the Japanese to be free and the system of Britannia destroyed, just as I do," Zero stated as Kallen wrapped her arms around his waist and looked at Suzaku with a cold stare.
"Y-You're dating Zero, Kally," Suzaku couldn't believe what he was seeing as Kallen held onto Zero and Zero returned the affection.
"He's more than Zero and he'll tell you all about it before he asks you a serious question," Kallen stated as Zero removed his mask to reveal that he was Lelouch vi Britannia aka Lelouch Lamperouge.
"L-Lelouch….you're Zero, but why?" Suzaku couldn't understand why his best friend would do this.
"Remember what I said that day when we were kids, how I will avenge my mother and Nunnally, and put an end to the Britannian rein. This is my way of fulfilling that and Kallen has agreed to help me with my goal," Lelouch stated.
"But...why not change it from within like I'm planning on doing? We could work together and I could even bring you and Nunnally back to your family," Suzaku was trying to plead with Kallen and Lelouch.
"My family have shed the blood of family for generations and I will never return with Nunnally to that world where the strong is better than the weak," Lelouch stated.
"Join us Suzaku," Kallen stated lightly.
"If you try to go down the path that you plan on, there is a possibility that the system will fake itself instead to appease you for a year before they kill you," Lelouch said in a convincing manner.
Suzaku looked at the both of them, thinking about the pros and cons of both options. He wanted to fix the mistake of his father, who allowed the Britannians to do this and fix the system from within but he also promised Lelouch that he would help him with this goal when they were children.
"I'll join you," Suzaku finally stated and watched the look of surprise appeared on both Kallen and Lelouch's faces.
They were expecting him to go back to saying he'll change the system but hadn't fully thought about if he would agree to side with them.
"Great! You can be the mole within the system," Lelouch stated as he handed a cell phone to Suzaku, who took it. "That phone has mine and Kallen's numbers already on it so give us a call in private if you learn anything."
Suzaku nodded and smiled as he hugged both of them. Lelouch and Kallen hugged him back then separated as Suzaku headed off towards his parole.
As he left, Lelouch and Kallen looked at one another and smiled.
"At least he joined us," Kallen mumbled as Lelouch nodded in agreement.
"Ready to head home to see our daughter and Nunnally before I drop you off at home," Lelouch stated gently, looking at Kallen in a loving manner.
"Actually, I rather stay the night with you for a while. I want to avoid my stepmother and how my mother is acting there for a while," Kallen stated.
Lelouch kissed her forehead as they left the warehouse with the rest of the resistance. They parted ways as Kallen and Lelouch headed back to Ashford Academy.
