Chapter 20

Morning- Ashford Academy- Lelouch's Room

The next day as the sun rose to wake up those who slumber, Sayako was inside Lelouch's room, preparing both his and Kallen's uniforms for the day before she went to check on Nunnally, then Elizabeth, who slept in her own room.

Lelouch slowly opened his eyes to see his beautiful girlfriend still asleep as the sun gently cascaded a glow onto her face.

"Kally," Lelouch whispered gently, only to get irritated hum from Kallen.

"Kally, wake up my love," Lelouch whispered again as he gently kissed her face until she woke up.

"Lulu, I want to sleep more," Kallen mumbled in a sleepy tone.

"I know but we need to get ready for school, give Elizabeth and Nunnally their good mornings, eat and so forth," Lelouch stated gently as Kallen slowly sat up and stretched.

"Okay, I'll go get ready," Kallen mumbled tiredly as she got out of Lelouch's bed, grabbed her change of clothes and went to take a shower.

Lelouch smiled as he sat up and waited. While he waited for Kallen to shower and get dressed, Elizabeth, showered and dressed in her own school uniform ran into the room and jumped onto the bed.

"Father!" Elizabeth squealed happily as Lelouch was startled greatly.

"Ai, no need to run," Lelouch stated as he smiled at her and gently brushed her bangs back to where they were supposed to be.

"Is mother here already?" Elizabeth asked as she looked around for Kallen.

"She's getting ready for school then we head out afterwards," Lelouch stated.

"Please, let me help in this fight. My family was killed by falsehood and everything," Elizabeth/Ai begged.

Lelouch stared at her softly but decided to breathe in and out before giving an answer.

"You are too young to help us in Knightmares and such but you will help make sure everything here goes well, can you do that for me?" Lelouch ordered gently, not using his geass on the one who sees him as her own father.

"I'll tell Auntie Nunnally who you are if you don't let me help in some way, father," Elizabeth stated with a grin as she knew that Lelouch would not like Nunnally to know what he is doing behind her back.

Lelouch was dumbfounded as he had no idea what to answer her with, whether to have her do as he said or risk Nunnally knowing about what he plans to do.

As he thought his choice over, Kallen come out dressed in the Ashford Academy female student uniform to see Lelouch deep in thought.

"Lulu, go shower and get ready," Kallen walked over and tapped him out of his daze.

"Alright and Elizabeth, we'll talk about this soon," Lelouch stated as he grabbed his change of clothes and went to shower and get ready.

Kallen turned her gaze over to Elizabeth who was wearing the Elementary school female student uniform of Ashford Academy.

"What did you say that caused Lelouch to be deep in thought?" Kallen asked her adopted daughter, who then told her how she wanted to help and what she'd do if he didn't allow her.

"Well, what if he told Nunnally everything himself?" Kallen asked with a smirk as she knew Elizabeth hadn't thought of that.

"Told me what?" a soft voice stated from the door as Elizabeth and Kallen's gazes went to the door to see Sayako wheeling in Nunnally.

"Father is hiding things from you Auntie Nunna," Elizabeth blurted out.

Kallen and Sayako stiffened before Kallen glared down at Elizabeth.

"I already know that. He's been wanting to get back at Father for abandoning us, though I am not one for violence, I'll let Lelouch do what he believes is right even if i do not like it," Nunnally slowly admitted, as that was what C.C. had told her while Lelouch and Kallen were out and Elizabeth was already asleep.

"So you already knew what I'm planning, dear Nunnally," Lelouch stated as he left the bathroom, dressed in his male student uniform of Ashford Academy.

"Yes and I will be on your side as I have been told why you are doing this, though I don't like that there will be bloodshed and no peaceful conversation, I will accept this," Nunnally stated before Lelouch took her hand as he knelt in front of her.

"I love you Nunnally," Lelouch whispered as he slowly hugged her.

"I love you too big brother," Nunnally said gently as she hugged him back.

Elizabeth pouted, knowing that since Nunnally already knew, there was no way Lelouch would let her help in the way she wanted to.

As Lelouch leaned back then stood up, he turned his gaze to Elizabeth and sighed.

"You can help BUT you have to be careful," Lelouch demanded.

"Of course Father," Elizabeth stated with excitement as she got off the bed and ran to give him a hug, which he returned.

"Let's go eat then head to our classes," Lelouch stated as everyone began to leave his room until it was only him and Kallen.

He turned his gaze towards his girlfriend and frowned at seeing the upset frown on her face.

"Why would you allow her? She's just a child!" Kallen mumbled angrily as Lelouch headed over to her.

"I know," Lelouch stated as he pulled Kallen into his arms as she gripped his shirt and they stood in a comfortable but upsetting embrace.

Slowly, Lelouch led Kallen to the dining room and escorted her to her chair where she sat then ate her meal lightly. Lelouch sat beside her and began to eat slowly as well while Nunnally ate her food delicately and Elizabeth ate her food carefully.

"Elizabeth, you will be given your orders, however, you will not join us on the battlefield, is that understood," Kallen stated sternly as she turned her blue eyes turned young brown ones.

"Yes mother, I understand," Elizabeth stated, knowing that this turn of events has upset her adopted mother.

As they all finished their breakfast, Kallen and Lelouch said their goodbyes to Nunnally and Elizabeth before heading to the high school portion of Ashford Academy while Sayako took Elizabeth to the Elementary section and Nunnally towards the Middle school section.

They walked towards their classroom, holding hands gently.

"You sure about this Lelouch?" Kallen asked finally.

"No but it's what she wants and I cannot deny her even if I wanted to," Lelouch answered truthfully.

"She really is determined," Kallen mumbled.

"She's now our daughter so of course she's determined, just like us," Lelouch stated as he gently squeezed Kallen's hand who returned to squeeze as they both smiled and went into ther classroom where their teacher has just entered.

The lesson began

Ashford Academy Elementary school

Sayako had dropped off Elizabeth near her classroom before taking Nunnally towards her own class. Elizabeth slowly breathed in and out before she headed into her classroom and took her seat.

Around her, the other students were in their own group of friends while she sat alone and silent, knowing the teacher would soon arrive to start class.

'I'll do whatever it takes to show my new mother and father that I can be of help to them,' Ai thought to herself.
