Whitetiger789-Glad to see you're still around for the story and happy to hear my chapter helped make your day better.
Gracie Miserables-When it came to the comics and the video game, I loved both Kenny and Tyreese as characters, but they have two very different styles of dealing with things and people. Tyreese sees Ben only as a kid making a mistake and doesn't hold any blame on Ben for Otis. Kenny, on the other hand, realizes how any simple mistake can end a life and knows Ben can't handle the walkers safely. So their fight felt like something inevitable.
Lord Revan Reborn-Lilly and Larry haven't been introduced just yet, I'm saving them for a little while but no worries they aren't forgotten, honestly they are going to be a bit major once they hit the scene. As for OC's, while I don't have anything against them in general, in this story, I'll have to say no just because the cast is already so inflated that I don't want to any character fall into the shadows and forgotten.
Don 77-Yeah, it wasn't really writer's block for the story, just a loss of the will to actually write haha. Now as for the extra kids from season 4, I love that I have them as options, I mean I could have them show up together or just add them where I see fit either way, it's fantastic. Now when it comes to Clem, I won't say who would end up with her. It could be Carl, Duck, Louis, or someone else. I will say that personally, I was more of a fan or Louis than Violet, didn't enjoy her character too much.
Worker72- So when it comes to comic Carol I agree that she never stood a chance, she was just a person that couldn't live in a world of the dead, the only thing that gave her a will was sadly Tyreese. Like I had said earlier, I thought she was very selfish to Sophia as she didn't seem very concerned with her well being, rather just herself. Also glad you enjoyed seeing Duck and Carl bonding, I'm enjoying having the kids interact with each other and seeing as Duck and Carl have gone through similar stuff I figured their friendship would be strong.
Enjoy
Chapter 14: What Comes Next
Patricia stumbled into Otis's cell, her eyes wide, red, puffy, and wet. It had only been mere minutes since Axel told her what happened in the cafeteria, and despite their issues, Patricia couldn't help but panic. Otis may have shunned her with most of the other's after Dexter, she may have started to hate the uneducated man nearly, but she didn't want him to die. Otis and Patrica were connected, and even if they weren't together, they were always going to matter to one another.
Doug turned to the woman and hesitated, unsure what to say, "He...um, it's not...uh…"
Hershel let out a low exhale and stood up, taking control of the conversation, "He was bitten Patrica, and Rick took his leg,"
"What happened? How did it...it's supposed to be safe here,"
"From what I know, while we were all clearing out A-block, Ben got attacked, Otis saved him, but it bit his leg. We got him outside and cut off his leg quick, and honestly, I think he's okay. Right, Hershel?" Doug asked, trying to be hopeful,
"I don't know, nor could I rightly say," Hershel admitted with little care, "He has a fever which is consistent with infection from bites. However, it's also consistent with this level of trauma. So either taking off the bite didn't change anything, and he is still...dead, or his body is simply fighting to repair the damage done," He finished while wiping his hands clean,
"Lord...Otis…" Patricia sniffed as she moved to the ginger man's side,
Just then a weak sputtering breath escaped Otis's lips, "P-Patty? I'm sorry, ye hear me? I'm so f-fucking sorry,"
"It's okay, just don't move, just rest," Patrica said with a breaking voice while stroking Otis's head. Otis groaned and slowly lowered his eyes, seeing that his left foot was indeed gone, now replaced by a bandaged stump.
Meanwhile, a floor above and a few cells down, Andrea stood staring at Molly in confusion. Molly's eyes darted around the cell for a moment before they suddenly narrowed and glared at Andrea, "I have no fucking idea what you're talking about, I didn't hear a thing,"
Andrea's expression turned to bewilderment, then frustration, "What? I heard you; I heard your voice talking to someone. I couldn't make out what was being said, but it was definitely you,"
"I don't know what you heard, but it wasn't me, so why do you go bug someone else?" Molly snarkily retorted, crossing her arms and glaring. Andrea stared back for a long moment, silence lingering between the two before finally, she turned and left Molly's cell. Molly pursed her lips and finally muttered out one final, "What a bitch," under her breath.
Hours later, everyone had finally turned in for the night, most were exhausted from their long day, and a few still mixed on the things that they saw or went through earlier. Lee, however, found out that someone was taking things a lot harder than expected. He was one of the last to return to the cell block and was heading towards his cell only to stop as he heard the faint cries of a little girl. Lee turned towards the sound and slowly made his way towards the cell it came from, "Hello?" The cries continued mixed with sniffles, "Uh hey? Everyone okay in here?" Lee asked once more,
"Yes…" A small voice squeaked back,
"Clementine? What's wrong?" Lee calmly asked the girl as he entered the cell,
"It's nothing," Clementine replied as she lifted her arm and used it to wipe her wet eyes,
Lee moved to the edge of Clementine's bed and knelt down, "Sweetie, we both know that's not the truth, so talk to me about it. Are you scared about what happened today?"
"No it's not that," Clementine denied with a small shake of her head,
"Is someone being mean to you? You get into a fight with one of the other kids?" Lee attempted to deduce,
"No…" Clementine softly said once more,
"Clem, I can't read minds," Lee said with a natural smile, "So how about you just tell me,"
"I-I miss my dad!" Clementine finally exclaimed as tears began to roll down her cheeks, "I miss my mom! I want to go home!"
"Oh Clem," Lee sympathetically said as he reached out and pulled the crying girl into a hug, "I'm sorry, I know it's hard to be away from your parents," Clementine pressed her face into Lee's shoulder while squeezing him tight, "I miss my folks too, you know. I never felt right when I was away from them,"
"R-Really?" Clementine sniffed as she pulled back, "But you're big, you shouldn't miss them,"
Lee shook his head with a smile, "No matter how big you get, everyone misses their parents," As the words left Lee's mouth he felt it tug hard on his heart, "I...I really hate the not knowing, Doug told me you guys were in Macon when everything was first starting and that my parents were more than likely dead but...I can't ever know. I don't know if they are still there with my brother just waiting...wondering if I'm okay, wondering if I'd come for them,"
"M-My parents are in Savannah, they went on a vacation," Clementine sniffed, "They said they'd be back in a week, but they never came home, a-and I don't know where they are,"
Lee opened his mouth initially to tell the girl the hard truth, but he hesitated, Clementine didn't need the truth right now, the little girl needed hope. "They are probably still down there Clem, just waiting for this whole thing out, I'm sure when they can, they'll come back here and come get you."
"You think so?" The little girl asked with a flickering smile,
"I know so Clem; it's...only a matter of time," Lee reassured, "So, you gonna be okay now?"
"Yeah, I'll be okay," Clementine nodded,
"Good, sleep tight Clem," Lee smiled while standing up and walking towards the exit,
"Lee?" Clementine's voice squeaked, causing the man to look back, "C-Could I stay in your room tonight?"
"Oh, uh, sure Clem, of course," Lee stammered a bit surprised as he walked over, took Clementine's hand and led her back to his cell. Clementine had a small relaxed smile on her face as she walked with Lee. As the pair entered the cell, Lee brought Clem over to the bottom bunk and tucked her in, "Okay Clem, feel better?" Clementine silently nodded, "Alright, you sleep tight, and I'll be right up here if you need me,"
"Thanks, Lee," Clementine tiredly replied as Lee pulled himself onto the top bunk,
"Of course, goodnight Clementine," Lee warmly replied only to hear soft snores from the bed below.
On the other end of the cell block, Carol lie awake cuddled into Tyreese's chest, the blonde woman continued to replay the scene of Michonne and Tyreese in the gym over and over. She couldn't handle it; her mind and heart continued to break further with each second. In a last attempt to save the relationship she had with Tyreese, Carol attempted to do as Michonne had done in the gym.
Tyreese quickly awoke from a sensation of pain rather than pleasure, "Carol, what the hell?" He asked in a hushed tone, terrified that he'd wake Sophia on the other side of the room, "I thought you didn't like to do this? Why are you doing this?" Carol tried to ignore him and continue only to feel Tyreese's arms on her shoulders, "Stop, just stop, come here," Carol moved back up, wiping her mouth in mild disgust before tears suddenly fell from her eyes, "Carol?"
"I can't-I can't do this anymore," Carol whimpered,
"Honey, I don't mean to be blunt, but you weren't doing anything either one of us wanted," Tyreese retorted,
"No, not that I...Just hold me, hold me close," Carol begged as she leaned over, clinging to the man, "And tomorrow I-tomorrow I want...Tomorrow I want you to pack your shit and move to another cell," Carol demanded, pushing out the words like glass cutting into her. Tyreese squeezed his eyes shut; he didn't even have to ask why he knew why.
Hours passed by and time ticked by all asleep now but Hershel who sat in Maggie's cell, a frown on his face. The two young adults had been gone since the afternoon, Glenn led Kenny back into the cell block so he and Tyreese. Then in a blink of an eye, Maggie and Glenn disappeared from sight, no one had seen them since. Hershel knew they were more than okay, the prison seemingly running out of threats each day, but with Otis bitten, and the deaths of his children forever haunting him, he worried.
The farmer's ears perked up when he heard the faint whispers of the pair finally, "See, home free," Glenn smiled,
"Shhh," Maggie hushed, "We've been gone all day, someone has to have noticed. I mean, my dad has to have figured out what we've obviously been doing. He'll need to come to terms with it,"
Glenn let out a soft sigh, "Yeah but do we have to do it-Now?!" Glenn couldn't help but exclaimed as they turned into the cell only to find Hershel himself staring back at them,
"Where have you two been?" Hershel grunted as he got to his feet,
Maggie took a half step forward and smiled innocently, "We were exploring the cell-block, I don't think people know half the rooms in here. There are offices, a lounge, a few guard posts, I mean everyone else spends all their time out in the hot sun, so it's no wonder they haven't found this stuff like us. Not to mention that while it's dark, you get used to it quickly. We really got a lay of the land,"
Hershel looked over to Glenn who was nearly sweating and saw the boy could only muster a weak smile and nod, "Well next time you're doing that," Hershel said, emphasizing the word as he glared at Glenn, "Take the time to check-in, so you know what's going on. Otis was bitten today,"
"Oh god, is he okay?!" Maggie gasped, the ginger man nearly an uncle to her by now,
"He's alive, we cut off his foot to see if that would save him, but he's lost a lot of blood, so we don't know if he's gonna pull through." Hershel stepped past the pair moving out of the cell, "So if it's not too much to ask, check-in, please, for me. Goodnight, Glenn, Maggie a word."
Maggie wiped her eyes and followed her dad as he leaned against the railing of the walkway, "What is it, dad?"
"If it makes you happy, I don't care what you do with that boy. I'm not stupid; I understand what's going on. What you're doing is a sin, but the good Lord has put us in a situation where you have to sin to survive. I see the way you two are together, and I think you'd marry him if you could, so that's enough for me. You do what you want and don't worry about me; I'll learn to deal with it." Maggie let out a smile along with Hershel, "Besides I still have your little brother to keep an eye on, and we both know he needs it more,"
Maggie giggled and leaned forward kissing him on the cheek, "Thank you, Dad, I love you,"
"I love you too, sweetheart, goodnight," Hershel warmly returned. He watched Maggie with a content smile as she walked back into her cell with Glenn before returning to his own.
Early the next morning, Andrea awoke to the sounds of shuffling, "Huh? What's going on,"
"Sorry," Doug immediately apologized, "We were trying to be quiet,"
"Rise and shine hon," Dale smiled as he reached for the first aid kit, "Kenny, might as well do it here,"
"Morning," Kenny bluntly said while entering the cell and sitting down on a stool, "C' mon Doug, let's get this shit over with,"
"What's happening?" Andrea asked as she sat up watching Doug with Dale,
"Doug was coming in for the first aid kit, he's finally taking off Ken's bandages to check his hand," Dale explained,
"Hopefully it's healed okay, but Dale and I aren't doctors, and Hershel wasn't able to help us with it at the time," Doug said while slowly unwrapping the man's hand,
"I could give a shit, honestly," Kenny muttered, "That fucker got exactly what was coming to him, deserved every bit,"
"Not gonna argue with that," Andrea agreed while absently tracing her finger along the long scar on her cheek,
Doug finished unwrapping Kenny's hand and watched as the man raised it to inspect. Dozen's of scars wrapped around his hand in every direction, "Well at least it didn't turn into a pumpkin," Doug jokingly stated though no one laughed,
"Try to make a fist, Ken," Dale suggested,
Kenny let out a small grunt and curled his hand, his fingers began to curl about halfway before starting to turn left or right, the pain overwhelmed him, and he had to stop, "Heh...guess that's fucking that," Kenny weakly stated,
"Well, it's still healing," Doug said trying to be optimistic, "It could get better,"
"Either way it's not the end of the world," Dale added on, "With practice, you may even be able to hold and shoot a gun with it,"
"Don't need no more than that," Kenny simply stated as he got up and walked out of the cell.
A floor above Mark walked out of his cell and stretched, enjoying the sunlight on his face, the prison was nice and safe, but he didn't have any issue admitting that he missed being in Hershel's farmhouse. The air force repairman's attention, however, was quickly turned to Tyreese and Carol a few cells over. Tyreese had his pack on and a few other personal effects in his hands, Carol kept her head down as he began to walk away. "Uh hey, Tye, what's going on?"
Tyreese walked right past Mark, not giving the man a single glance, "I'm looking for an empty cell," He muttered,
Mark's eyes widened, and he couldn't help but look back to Carol, who was still staring at the floor, he quickly moved to her side, "Carol, hey, what's happening? Something wrong?"
"Please Mark, I don't want to wake Sophia," Carol softly replied,
"Yeah, sure, that's fine, but I just...what's going on between you two?" Mark asked much softer,
"Nothing anymore," Carol sniffed back, "We broke up last night, it's over,"
"Oh geez, I'm so sorry, you okay?" Mark sympathetically asked,
"No, I'm not!" Carol cried out and threw herself into Mark's arms. Mark froze for a moment surprised but after a moment, began to pat Carol's back and hold her, knowing there wasn't much else he could do.
Outside of the cell block, Hershel, Billy, Chuck, and Axel were already a few hours into working on the garden. The four men knew that the prison yard still had a while to go before it was fit for planting and growing, and with time running out in the year, Hershel needed the help from the prisoners. "Charles, you're working yourself too hard, don't push down, just forward, let the dirt pull the plow for you," Hershel explained,
"Right, got a lot to learn, never was a farmer," Chuck replied while wiping his brow, "But the kids need to eat, so that's what I am now,"
"And you're getting better, and we appreciate the help from both of you," Hershel replied, "Billy and I can't be expected to do all the work," He added on before glancing to his son, "Or should I said just myself, seeing as my son prefers other types of work now,"
Billy stared at the dirt below him, his mind in another place entirely, "You alright, boy?" Axel asked in minor concern,
"Yeah, just can't stop thinking about Otis," Billy admitted,
Hershel's demeanor changed quickly, "I know son, but it's in God's hands now, and if he's willing, Otis will pull through,"
"Don't know him all that well, but he seems like a fighter," Axel added on, "And anyone alive today definitely has strength in 'em, you follow me?"
"I guess," Billy shrugged pessimistically,
A long silence lingered between the four men before Axel spoke back up, "You ever wonder about them? Watching us all day long, what they must be thinking?"
"If they even can speak, don't seem like they got much brains," Chuck muttered,
"I try not to think about them at all," Hershel roughly interjected, attempting to end the conversation there,
"Not me, I think about them all the time, I wonder about all kinds of things. Like what their jobs were, if they had any family and if they did where those people are now. I wonder if any of them are family that stuck together," Hershel shut his eyes, memories of his passed away children filled his head, "I wonder if any of them knew each other before they died. I mean all of them were people once, they all had lives you follow me?
"Now they don't, cause they're dead, just rotting meats," Chuck bluntly replied,
"I just try not to think about it," Hershel lowly stated,
"You don't wonder about what kind of people they were before they tried to eat us? I'm sure most of them were good people like us, er, well you and your boy. Me and Chuck clearly ain't boy scouts," Axel continued causing Chuck to frown at the slight towards him,
"You think any of them might have been secret agents or some crazy shit like that?" Billy asked with an amused smile,
"Language," Hershel quickly chastised,
"Exactly, that's what I wonder; I'm just curious you follow me?" Axel nodded, "Something I really think about is how it felt to die and then come back, I wonder if it hurts. I bet it hurts a lot and that why they moan so much. You gotta ask yourselves these questions because odds are we're all gonna become one of them before long."
"Alright enough already! Let's get some work done; it'll be lunchtime before we know it," Hershel snapped out, surprisingly vicious in tone,
"Couldn't agree more," Chuck calmly said as he started to push the plow,
"Yeah, okay, whatever you say. You could be a little nicer you know," Axel finished before he to turned back to work,
Back inside, Mark was starting to spread the word about Carol in Tyreese more our of concern than anything else. He quickly spotted Rick as he was heading towards the cafeteria, "Rick, hey Rick, you have a minute?"
"Sure, Mark, what's going on?" Rick replied walking with the man,
"It's Carol, she and Tyreese split up, I don't know why, but it happened like just now, and Carol is not handling it well at all," Mark explained to Rick's shock,
"Jesus, I can't believe it, they were fine just the other day, closer than ever," Rick said as he racked his mind trying to figure it out, "Are you completely sure?"
"Tyreese already moved into an empty cell, and honestly, I'm not sure what we should do about it. I mean it's their relationship, but Carol just isn't doing alright," Mark sighed,
"No, no, you're right, we need to do something, people these days are already under enough stress, these normal things could end up tipping the pot over," Rick thought aloud, "I'll go get Lori, she and I will head over, I'll take Sophia and let them talk. They're close, and I'm sure she could use a friend,"
"Sounds good to me," Mark agreed with a small smile as he followed Rick, "Want me to come with?"
"No, I don't want to overwhelm her," Rick simply replied, "But I appreciate you telling me this Mark, thank you,"
"Of course, just trying to look out for everyone," Mark nodded back, following Rick up the hallway towards the cafeteria with haste, content he'd done his part to help.
Meanwhile, in the cafeteria everyone else was chowing down on breakfast, say for Carol, Sophia, Otis, and Patrica. The latter refused to leave the ginger man's side for a minute. On the far side of the cafeteria Julie and Ben sat across from one another, Ben picked at his food, still down from yesterday but Julie didn't touch a thing, "You okay?" The lanky teenager inquired from his girlfriend,
"My dad...he did something, I know it," Julie almost growled, "The bastard did something bad,"
"What are you talking about? I know I said I didn't like that he fought with Kenny about me, but I don't think that was a bad thing, you know?" Ben mumbled back,
"No, Ben, it's not about you!" Julie snapped back, "It's Carol, something happened between them, he hurt her, and now they're not together anymore,"
"What? What are you talking about?" Ben asked in confusion,
"This morning when we were heading down here, I notice that my dad wasn't in Carol's cell anymore, and I saw that he was in a new one, with all of his shit. She kicked him out, Ben, and Carol would only do that if he did something awful. She loves him with all her heart, and only something serious would make her leave him," Julie explained, "And I want to know what he did…" Ben awkwardly shifted in his seat unsure how to respond, Julie didn't notice, the girl was still deep in thought about her father's unknown action.
A few tables down, Lee made his way towards an empty seat, Clementine a few steps behind him, "Where you want to sit?" Lee inquired to the little girl who had been on him like glue since she woke up,
"Ummm, I don't know," Clementine replied with a little smile, "I usually just sit wherever Sophia or Duck are,"
"Oh, uh, did you want to go sit with them?" Lee asked back,
"No, it's okay," Clementine denied before eyeing a spot, "There looks good,"
"Okay, Clem, sounds good," Lee agreed before moving over and taking a seat, "So, how are you feeling today?"
"Better, it was nice to sleep in a room that's not my own," Clementine answered while taking a bite of cereal,
Lee pursed his lips and looked around the room, "Is...does no one really take care of you?"
"Sure, lots of people do," Clementine replied nonchalantly,
"No Clem, I mean, one person. Before you were here, did you have one adult looking out for you?" Lee asked again,
"Not really," The little girl admitted, "Andrea and Dale did for a while, but after Allen and Donna...died, they ended up taking care of Ben and Billy." Lee glanced over to the toddler twins eating with Andrea and Dale, on some level he understood but the fact they seemed to forget about Clementine didn't sit well, "Rick and Lori did too, but Carl got shot and they just worried over him,"
Lee nodded once more, "Anyone else?"
"Ummm, Carol did sometimes when I'd stay in Sophia's tent," Clem smiled, "And Katjaa did a lot too, but she's dead too," She finished her smile now gone, "Carley and Doug tried too, but they get so busy…"
"So you've been," Lee paused almost unable to admit it, "All by yourself through this? No one talked to you about your parents?" Clementine shrugged back, sulking now. Lee wet his lips and thought, "Why don't...why don't you stick with me from now on, I can look out for you,"
"Really?" Clementine quickly asked back, her eyes wide with excitement, "That'd be okay?"
"Of course, Clem, you're a tough little girl, but everyone needs someone watching out for them. So how about I watch out for you, and you watch out for me? Deal?" Lee offered,
"Deal!" Clementine nearly squealed back, "I'm gonna go tell Duck!"
Lee watched with an amused smile as the little girl scampered off towards the boy, after a moment he heard Carly's voice from behind him, "Wow, you know, I never realized it until she just said it, but our group failed that little girl," Lee turned and faced the short woman, a disappointed expression lingering, "It just never clicked in my head, every time she wasn't with me, I just figured she was with someone else, and she was okay,"
"She's not, I found her crying last night in her cell," Carly's eyes widened, "Clem wanted her parents, and no one was there to help her through that,"
"You were," She replied with a little smile, "I don't think it's a bad idea for you to look out for Clem. You two seem to have some kinda connection, she trusts you, and you understand her,"
"I'm not a dad," Lee lightly argued, "I don't think I'm fit for it."
"But you wanted to be one," Carly reminded him as she took a seat, "And you just offered to be her guardian,"
"I didn't want her to feel alone," The man explained with a sigh,
"That's what a good guardian does, that's what Clementine needs right now," Carly said while taking a seat, feeling confident in her argument, "She needs you, Lee," Lee let out a slow exhale and nodded unable to deny it, "Good, and besides, you're gonna need her support when I whip your butt in a few minutes,"
"Huh? What are you talking about?" Lee chuckled back in confusion,
"Oh, did you forget? All that big talk that you could outshoot me? I believe we agreed on this morning, didn't we?" Carly reminded him, "So why don't you head on over to Doug, go borrow his gun and let's settle this thing," She finished while raising her right brow challengingly,
Lee let out a low laugh, "Fine, sounds good, give me two minutes," Lee grinned before walking off towards Doug.
Minutes later, Carly and Lee were heading out of the cafeteria towards the yard; they passed Michonne just as she walked in the door. The African woman heard a voice call out to her and was surprised to see Lori waving her over, "Morning," Michonne stoically stated,
"Good morning Michonne, I just realized that you and I haven't really had a chance to talk, so did you want to, you know, join Carl and me for breakfast?" Lori awkwardly offered,
"Sure," Michonne agreed without any hesitation taking Lori aback, "Be right back,"
"Mom why'd you do that, you said you didn't like her," Carl softly asked,
"Carl, shush, how could you even say that?!" Lori hissed back to the boy,
"But I heard you say to dad that-" Carl began to explain,
"Quiet, Michonne lives with us now, and we need to be friendly and get to know her, now eat your cereal," Lori swiftly dismissed as Michonne returned,
"So morning sickness not hitting hard today? With it being so early, I mean," Michonne asked while sitting down,
"I wish," Lori laughed, "I don't sleep very well, so my morning sickness is extremely early, by this time I could eat a horse,"
"Cute," Michonne muttered, not seeming very amused,
"Have any kids?" Lori asked, attempting to keep the conversation going, "Or did you, I mean? I...sorry,"
Surprisingly Michonne calmly waved her hand, "Don't worry about it, really. And yeah, I did, I had two girls. I also had a father, mother, ex-husband, boyfriend, a job, and a costly mortgage. Now? I don't have a hell of a lot. Things have really changed, but I don't need to tell you that,"
"I know what you mean, and I'm sorry, these small talk questions just don't fit in conversations anymore," Michonne nodded in agreement, "But old habits die hard you know?"
Just then, Rick and Mark entered the cafeteria, "Lori," Rick softly called while approaching his wife, "Do you think you could do me a favor?"
"Sure hon, what is it?" Lori smiled back,
"It's Carol, it seems she and Tyreese split up, Mark had a talk with her this morning about it, and she really doesn't seem to be taking it too well. I figured we could go back, I can take Sophia for a bit and you could check in with her," Rick explained while rubbing the back of his head,
"Oh god, I-I didn't know, of course, let's go," Lori stood up but quickly stopped, "Oh Carl...um, Michonne could you do me a favor and watch Carol for a few minutes?"
"Sorry, I was just leaving," Michonne abruptly replied before heading right out of the room,
Rick and Lori watching the woman in some confused shock, "Mark, would you mind?" Rick asked,
"No problem," Mark nodded and took a seat across from Carl.
As Rick and Lori made their way back to the cell's Rick filled Lori in on the situation to the best of his knowledge, the pair both concerned with Carol's mental state as she seemed to depend on Tyreese entirely. Just as they reached the main cell block, they bumped into Kenny, "Hey, you two, what's going on?"
"Going to get Sophia," Rick quickly explained, "Carol and Tyreese broke up,"
"Good, she didn't need that asshole," Kenny grunted,
"Jesus, Kenny, have some compassion," Lori chastised the man, "She's not taking it well,"
Kenny let out a slow exhale and nodded back, "Sorry, shouldn't have said that" He admitted, "Just still a little sore over yesterday, you know?"
"I get it, but seriously, don't make things worse for Carol right now, she- Oh my god, Carol!" Rick yelled as the three reached her cell, only to find her wrists slashed open and poor Sophia huddled in the far corner of the cell, watching in terror as her mother died.
Michonne, in the meantime, had snuck back into the cell block as well to see her new lover. She found Tyreese just finishing unpacking, "New place?"
"Yeah, and it looks like I'll be alone in this one," Tyreese replied with a frown,
"That's not completely true, you can ask me for company, sometimes you won't even have," Michonne smirked,
"That's what got me here in the first place; I really wish you didn't tempt me like that," Tyreese sighed, "Me and Carol had a good thing,"
"What did you really want with that scrawny little bitch anyway?" Michonne challenged while moving closer to Tyreese, "Besides I don't recall you resisting,"
"M-Michonne," Tyreese nearly begged before feeling their lips meet, and immediately he began to kiss her back.
Just then Kenny came rushing into his cell, "Listen Tyreese, we don't gotta like each other, but you need to know that- what in the fuck?!" Kenny yelled out,
"Kenny?! What the fuck do you want man!? Get outta here this isn't your business," Tyreese spat out,
"The fuck it isn't!" Kenny growled, "I come over here to tell you Carol slit her fucking wrists, and I find you with her!"
"Oh my god, is she okay?!" Michonne exclaimed running out to help,
"Fuck...what have I done?!" Tyreese asked as he fell onto his bed,
"What you've done is right! We just found out about you two, and now it all makes sense, she ended it because you and that new bitch were cheating!" Kenny spat, "Only a fucking coward does shit like that!"
"Kenny! What's going on?!" Rick exclaimed while rushing over to the pair,
"This fucker did Michonne, that's why Carol cut her wrists because he fucking cheated on her!" Kenny exclaimed, "Didn't you, you piece of shit!"
"Tyreese!" Rick shouted out,
"Rick, not now, please, just not now!" Tyreese begged,
Then to the surprise of both Tyreese and Kenny, Rick jumped up to Tyreese's face, "You just couldn't be happy with her, could you? What did she get too boring?!"
Tyreese clenched his fists, "I said not now dammit! Both of you get the fuck out!"
"Fuck you!" The pair yelled back in near unison, "That woman is dying because of you!" Rick exclaimed,
Tyreese jumped up and slammed Rick against the wall, "Shut up! Do you think I wanted this?! You think this isn't tearing me up inside?!"
"Let him go, asshole!" Kenny demanded,
"It doesn't fucking matter!" Rick yelled back while pushing Tyreese off him, "You know how close these people are to the edge, you know that all they need is a reason to end it!"
"You think I knew this would happen?!" Tyreese spat back,
"Doesn't fucking matter," Kenny snapped back, "If she dies, this is on you, you sonofabitch," Tyreese turned and without warning hauled out and cracked Kenny across the face, sending him flying back.
Alright so that's the end of this chapter, I enjoyed making the Lee and Clementine scenes this time around, I felt I needed a good reason for Clementine to really attach herself to Lee, and seeing as everyone in the group either has their hands full or isn't exactly good with kids, showing that she was still on her own worked the best. However, I will say, the next chapter is going to be even better, so I hope you're all ready for it and I look forward to hearing what you thought about this one!
