Situation: The Twins' Premature birth

Brandon's attention is torn between the highway and me. I am six months pregnant and in active
labor with our twins. They are eager to embrace the outside world. I am unsure if we can make it
to the hospital. I squeeze Brandon's hand in an attempt to release my stress and anxiety. "Inhale
and exhale" he instructs me. I develop a strong urge to bear down and push. "The twins are
coming right now. Please pull over to the side of the road" I request. Brandon pulls the car
over to the side of the road. He serves as my birthing coach. He calls 911 for back up.

Abruptly, an intoxicated Dylan storms into my house. Brandon orders our children to go to
their rooms. They obey him without asking any questions. "I gave you my cousin. I trusted
you to protect her. Why did you allow her to get raped?" Dylan yells shaking Brandon.
