Summer to Remember

Harry Potter/ Fay Dunbar

XVIII

Harry scoffed. He was quickly realising that for all the bravado that Hogwarts paraded about as being 'The Finest Wizarding School in the World', they were most certainly not.

Most arrogant definitely, self-centred most certainly. He was astounded, he'd lost points for defending himself against his peers. Now said peers were sucking up to him. Currently he was in the Common Room, reading a new manga called 'Boku no Hero Academia'. It had only just started being released in America when he was visiting and he had picked up a few volumes; all of them and set up a standing order to a ramshackle house that Remus had purchased. From there the manga would be picked up by Dobby, sent to Sirius, who would then package them and send them via Hedwig.

His other business was blooming. Harry had been spotted by Neville sliding out of an unused classroom on the sixth floor.

(Flashback)

"Harry, you doing okay? You smell like you've been hit by a member of the Mimbletonia family. You reek." Neville said, covering his nose slightly.

Harry stopped "Hey Neville, I'm doing okay. It could be worse, why are you looking for me?"

"Fay sent me after you. Something about you acting dodgier…well dodgier than normal." Neville replied, Neville watched as Harry stiffened slightly.

"You want to confess to me or to the staff?"

"Since when did you play hardball?"

"When did you drop Granger and Weasley?"

Harry sighed "Come on."

"Oh Merlin…Harry, please tell me you've got an apothecary licence for this?"

(End Flashback)

Turned out that the apothecary licence could be obtained from Professor Sprout. Harry had managed to get one off the diminutive Herbology Professor without setting something on fire or even more so summoning bolts of lightning to threaten the Professor.

With their licences and Neville firmly positioning himself in as the middleman, receiving a small cut in the overall profits made by Harry. The pair of them had developed a very niche but profitable market.

Harry and Neville had agreed that Fourth Years were a touchy subject, as Harry wasn't sure who could be trusted and who couldn't. Fifth years and above were fair game. They had started inside Gryffindor House and everything had gone fine until the party that they were currently in.

"I knew Harry could do it! He's my best mate! Come on Harry, come join in." Ron roared, it turned out the Weasley Twins ran a smuggling job of getting in Firewhiskey and the few alcoholic wizarding beers and ales.

Harry sighed. Ron was getting on his nerve with his inability to study and wanting to merely coast through life on Harry's reputation. Hermione for opposite reasons. As the ambient magic influenced the drugs that were being smoked in the Gryffindor Common Room began to impact everyone; there behaviours began to alter. Harry so far was amongst those least effected "Fay, Katie, Seamus…Help me get the First and Second Years to bed."

Seamus exhaled on the bong and handed it to Dean "Aight. You'll owe me. Whose supplying this? I mean I got it through Neville, says 'he knows a guy'."

Harry smirked; he'd throw Seamus a bone "You know him. He's in your year and he's in this house."

Seamus's eyes widened "Our year, in this house. You're implying that they're male by the fact you're using male pronouns…Or you could be throwing me off. I have to ask why Neville?"

Harry stopped for a moment as he hoisted a second year up "They find Neville trustworthy, quiet and reliable…also Neville caught them with their pants down."

Seamus nodded "I think we need to get Ron out. Harry, don't give me that look; you look like you're gonna disembowel him. I saw your face, I believed you…Sweet Morgana and the Tuatha de Danann; you SURVIVED the killing curse. You don't need this."

Harry smiled thinly "That's true…You know what fuck it, keep this to yourself." Seamus cocked his head and the pair stepped onto the spiralling staircase and pulled out green cigarette and a small pouch. "Pack or roller?"

"You…Harry?"

Harry grinned, Seamus took both and placed a small pile of Galleons in his dormmates hand "Secret kept. I'll get it via Neville, it is good to know that I know the dealer."

"Wait until my stock diversifies; I'll keep you in touch…Unless you want to do a job for me?"

"What's the job?"

Harry escorted Seamus back up to there Dorm, opened his trunk and passed him a plastic bag consisting of two pills "These, sell these at 3 sickles a pair; each bag has 51 Sickles worth in for every full pack you sell, for a Galleon, you'll get another bag."

Seamus looked at him "For every two galleons I make, you get one? Harry it should…"

"I make more money legit than this. This…this is just for a little bit of fun. I also smuggle in mundane alcohols…Wizards can't brew for shit."

Seamus nodded "I've got fifteen Galleons…set me up. I'll buy on batch from you, and I'll set my prices."

"Aight…You have a deal."

"You got harder stuff?"

"No…I know where to get some, but I'm not peddling that. Someone else I know peddles that."

With that the conversation ended. They headed down stairs and Harry non-verbally stunned Ron. Grabbed a drink and wanted to read his manga when Hermione moved into view. "Harry, a word."

"Can this wait? I just want to kick back…"

"Harry, you could…"

"If you say die in this tournament, save it. I know. Furthermore, Hermione…I've decided to stand-up for myself. I have it in hand, I have freedom, access to much more useful and practical books on hand."

Hermione wilted under the stare. "I apologise…Harry, you may have noticed…"

"You don't understand the subtleties of human friendship and being social. I get it, I'm sorry for dismissing it out of hand. Hermione, please…I can't study full on all of the time like you and besides; I've just got into reading more."

Hermione nodded "It's true." She then flopped onto a couch

"What's it about? Boku no Hero Academia?"

"Everyone has a gift mostly, but the main character doesn't and he later acquires one, and it is his climb from being seen as useless to being the best hero."

Hermione's eyes widened "That sounds great."

The three of them were later joined by Neville and the four of them relaxed throughout the party getting ever so slightly high and tipsy. It wasn't until Hermione's third bottle when with a slight slur murmured "I wish I could get some proper alcohol; I mean like what we were drinking back at the World Cup."

"It'll cost you."

"I figured. Can we deal with it over Holidays?"

"Yeah, one last thing…It's to do with the Tournament, I'm sorry. But what are Dragons? Aside from being well a pain in the ass and bad for your health?"

"Typically seen as creatures of Fire and Wind." Fay blurted out.

Harry sighed and he slumped into the sofa "Galleons and Sickles the Egg is related to potentially Earth or Water.

Harry nodded, spread himself out on the sofa and pulled Fay next to him. By now the Common Room had begun to empty, for the clock on the wall said it was nearing one in the morning of a Saturday. "Fay, we could and should go to bed…"

"I'm comfy. You make a good pillow so stay still…Heard from one of the Sixth Years in Hufflepuff; there is a ball or something happening."

Harry lay back "Lemme guess over the Christmas Holidays…Fay, if you wanna go with me that's fine. I don't particularly want to, I'd rather be in Japan with you learning Fuuinjutsu which was something you expressed an interest in."

Fay's hand caught him across the ribs "Harry, I know you don't particularly care for this sort of thing but never make me the sole decider of what happens…You have political power; I've got influence on my family, we can always meddle with things we do not need to and have both things that we want."

"Time turners."

Hermione and Neville looked at them, Hermione her eyes widened "We'd use Time Turners! Harry…You know that's a horrible idea."

"Horrible ideas are kinda what I, and Potters do; Hermione. What's it going to be Hermione? Time turners and a productive two weeks in Japan or just a boring Christmas with Ron being a dick and…"

"Nope. Not having one of them. I dislike the idea of Time Turners but this one seems to be a rather logical conclusion. Also Harry, Neville…Ever since my accident in second year not the petrification, my senses are somewhat sharper…You two are hiding something from us."

Fay took a sniff "Why do you smell like ritual fires?"

"There are some…herbs that I managed to come into possession of and have had some success in cultivating. Neville, found out is well helping."

The girls looked at the boys with raised eyebrows "We're cultivating Cannabis…And we're doing a pretty good job…don't worry it's perfectly legal."

"It is!" Thankfully the cannabis in the room had dulled Hermione's outrageous squeak.

"Hermione, we're in Victorian England in the wizarding world and I'm pretty sure Cannabis is the least of our worries."

"Opioids, Cocaine…Sweet merlin Harry…How are you getting this done? What do I need to do to get involved?"

"Correct. Legally and don't. If you REALLY do, you can talk to the other houses and bring it up. Be subtle, ask them if they need things to unwind. Rule no-one in the years below us. Our year if you can trust them but above is fair game."

Hermione, Neville and Fay nodded "Is there anyone else?"

"Seamus is in on it. He's doing other things…Now, the four of us need to plan…I want to not only survive but win."
