After a week of being introduced to the camp, Souls had a good lay of the land. In this time, he learned that there were different cabins for the head of the Greek gods. He learned the inhabitants of the camp were not human but instead referred to as "half-bloods" and were split into cabins based on their parents' position in the Pantheon; those of higher birth referred to as "Olympians." Souls noticed that Hermes cabin was ridiculously overstuffed, and heard from the grapevine that only one half-blood is claimed per ten that train at the camp. These odds, in conjunction with the carelessness for the campers' safety, infuriated Souls to no end. All this danger for a slim chance to be claimed by an Olympian. Souls specifically planned to stab Percy's father with his glare alone.
Speaking of Percy, Souls was still waiting for his brother to wake up from the small coma he was in. You could say Souls was a little worried about him. Chiron had told him that Percy had started to drift in and out of consensus, and it was believed he would come too soon, but Souls was still concerned. Also, during this time, he learned the name of the blonde girl that pointed a knife at him on the first night. Her name was Annabeth, and she was from the Athena cabin. Now it is worth saying that the interaction that granted him this information wasn't very pleasant. Why? You may ask. Well, simply Annabeth's pride controlled most of the conversation. To preserve her dignity and not embarrass her, I will simply say the conversation consisted of demanding answers that she would never get out of him both literally and metaphorically. Literally, for he is mute and metaphorically, for he would never answer any of her questions even if he could talk. Seeing as I am telling of things that happened, I will also mention that he had an encounter with the Aphrodite cabin. Now I am not saying that all of them are the same. In fact, I'm only talking about one person specifically. That one person being Drew, I highly doubt I need to say more. Without going into specific detail, it all ended with a confused Souls, and an angry Drew for a unique ability of hers didn't seem to work on him. Aside from that, nothing else happened, and after waiting a few more days, Percy finally seemed to be waking from his slumber. Seeing as he had yet to awaken, Souls spent most of his time at his bonfire sorting out all the new memories he had, and today he went through a particularly new one.
His eyes snapped open, he was tired, his body protested his every move. He gripped the blade in his hand tighter as he looked up and stared at his opponent, a giant, the last of its kind. It's an empty face staring at him as it raises its arms, going to strike him he ran aside to avoid that attack the ground shaking on the giant hand hit the ground. This was their dance, one that they had done for hours. Souls had no control over his body as it moved; he was merely an observer watching this battle. It was clear this Giant was on his last legs, the open wounds covering its legs, arms, and lower body are taking its toll on the relic of time. However, it was going to just die, and it would fight until it collapsed. Souls felt a feeling of respect and sadness wash over him as he battled the creature. Respect for its willingness and determination to continue fighting despite everything it knows to be lost, and sadness for he has to kill the Giant. Despite these feelings, the battle pushed on, seeing it in the weakened state he charges, trying to deliver a final blow only to be slacked by one of its long arms and be sent flying into a wall. He cries out in pain, and for a moment, both of them rest, taking in breath, never letting their eye leave the other. Souls glanced down to his flask empty; despite how his body felt, the pain he couldn't give up, he had to keep fighting to push on. Slowly both the Giant and souls rise both on the verge of death, Souls supporting himself with his sword, and he stands before gripping it with both hands and raising it preparing to attack. Souls locked eyes with the hollowed where a face should be, both let out a war cry before charging at the other. Ignoring their pain, focusing purely on their wills to live and survive. The Giant brings his body low and swings wildly as it charges. This didn't deter Souls' charge as he watched the hands swing wildly, and the ground shakes as the Giant approaches him.
Souls reached for his belt and grabbed one of the few bombs he parched; they weren't cheap at least compared to the amount of currency he had on him at the time. In a fluid motion fueled by adrenaline, he both lights it and tosses it at the Giant's head. The explosion, although not doing the desired amount of damage, but it was enough to disorient the giant enough for Souls to finish his charge and stab it in the chest. A saddened pain fill roar fills the air as the Giant starts to go limp, then fades away to ash, which is absorbed. Souls then collapse adrenalin wear and the pain of his body, finally forcing him to stop moving and collapse. His eyes slowly start to close, but he fights it and slowly ever so slowly returns to his feet and using his sword as a walking stick he keeps moving hoping desperately to find a bonfire somewhere close. It took the better half of two hours before he rounded it with his slow pace and injuries. Making his way down ladders and barely being able to push open stone doors but he sees it, and once there, he collapses the safety and peace the fire pit brings washing over him as he succumbs to his tiredness and passes out.
When Souls opened his eyes again he searched his surroundings breathing heavenly he pats down his body to see if it was his own. Seeing as he had returned to the real world he slowly started to calm down and gain control over his breathing. He can still feel the phantom of the pain that he felt in that fight however it was nowhere near as bad as it was. He decided to get up and return to the main campground leaving his small clearing. When he did he was surprised his brother was awake he heard the whispers from other campers and something had happened. He could get the full details but something to do with a toilet? He would investigate later but right now he has to find his brother he has to find Percy. So he started looking, but couldn't find him around on the campground thinking quickly he set off to the Hermese cabin, a place where the unclaimed were sent until, if ever, they were claimed. He noticed the head of the cabin Luke, the both of them are far more acquaintances than they are friends, being mute tends to make relationship building hard. He joggs up to Luke trying his best to convey the burning question on his mind
"Woha there what's the fire here? Drew getting on to you again?" Souls violently shook his head, Souls never learned sign language, he and Percy just always understood each other and Percy tended to be his tanslater to the outside world. But right now he had no idea how he was gonna communicate to Luke he was looking for his brother. After a solid 10 minutes of the worst attempt of charades that have ever been performed, Luke couldn't hold it back anymore.
"Pfft haha, oh oh I'm sorry Souls I had just to see what you would do," Luke said calming himself a annoyed and fairly pissed off look appeared on Souls's face
"Percy inside, Anne told me you would come looking for him." Souls pushed past Luke with the strength that shocked the son of Hermes. Souls then burst into the cabin, startling most of the people inside with the amount of force used on the door; souls ignored their looks and scanned the room looking for Percy. It didn't take much to find him, one because he knows what his brother looks like and two he kindly stands out with his green eyes.
"Souls?" percy question upon seeing his brother. Soul head snapped towards the sound of Percy's voice, a look of relief engulfs his face upon seeing him. Percy slowly monerves his way through the extremely crowded cabin and hugs his brother tightly, Souls returns the hug both just as relieved as the other to see eachother again.
"It's so good to see you… mom she's gone souls gone" Percy's voice was shaky. It was celery he hadn't fully gotten over everything that happened yet and to be far Souls hasn't really even thought about it himself. Souls gesture to the door with his head asking if they could leave the crowded cabin and Percy nods following his brother as they leave. Once they found a more secluded place Souls reaches into his soul space and pulls out three items. Percy had a confused look on his face as his brother's hand just vanished into thin air only to pull three things out of thin air.
"What the?" he asked, shocked and confused. Souls then handed two thing to him a blath leather jacket and a charred horn
"For me?" Percy asked, looking at Souls who nodded as Percy stared at the item and flashes of what happened that night ran through his head. Souls shake him out of his tance and pointed the jacked and put his finger up to his neck and make a cutting motion. This was from the furry he killed percy then held the horn up in confusion looking at Souls. Souls responds by pointing out the campfire that was nearby then place the horn in his hand on his head acting like the Minatour
"Wiat you set it one fire?" Percy said Percy understood what his brother was saying. Souls nods vigorously then pint to the horn in Percy hand then to Percy
"And you want me to keep one of the horns" Sous again nods as she puts his horn back in his soul space. Percy sighs and looks over the jacket then tries it on, at first it was way too big for him but then it shrunk down to fit his size and was really comfortable. Soon they both hear a horn being sounded Souls looks to Percy, Souls thinks it and Percy says it.
"Food."
