Xtremexavier15: Thank you, and yeah, that season was plane crazy after Noah left. Hahaha... I'll just move on now.
Acosta perez jose ramiro: Thanks! I thought it was a smart move to have Alejandro be picked up by two people that might have a bone to pick with him. And yeah, Cody and Gwen had a good friendship through the series even though one viewed the other romantically while the other didn't. It's been fun working with that.
SideshowJazz1: Unfortunately you're not the only one that was wondering about the vote. Because of that, I'll explain for everyone after I've answered reviews. Considering the season treated nobody with dignity, it was nice to give Alejandro a bit of that in his elimination. Yeah, those are pretty much the reasons why I had Alejandro flushed there.
WeirdAlfan101: Nope, Sugar still has some fight left in her. As for the spa hotel, well, there's more than one way to get in there other than winning, and one of those ways is being a good person. I think Cody deserved the hotel for being the one to confront Chris, and the producers by extension, about possibly the worst treatment they've ever given a contestant.
AnonBrowser: Oh yeah, Sugar is in it deep now. The vote will be explained after I answer reviews as you are not the only one wondering. As for the Shasmine ship, it ws probably your instinct. In this AU, since Sammy stayed around far longer than canon, she acted as a sort of friendship buffer between them that prevented them from exploring deeper feelings. It was only after she left following the boxing challenge that things were able to sort themselves out. That being said, they could've possibly had minor feelings for each other before.
Nicky Haugh: Thank you as always.
Phenomenal Ultra Instinct: An accurate summary of what's going on now.
Critica7: Like I've previously stated to other reviewers, the vote will be explained after I've answered everyone. Yeah, I'm already thinking about how I'm going to do PI. I do appreciate your thoughts on the more antagonistic characters. Thanks for your confidence!
That British Guy: Surprise!
Shiranai Atsune: And guess what? Here's another one!
QueenAzulaThinksYourWorthless: Thank you for your positivity, and may I say, you're really strange since you're rooting for the season's villain. I don't mean any offense; I just find it interesting you're the only one that is supporting Sugar.
The Legendary Dragon Reaper: Oh, I've been active on the site more frequently than you think. Just because I don't update a story at any given time, doesn't mean I'm not active.
SilentSinger948: Yeah, I try to treat the characters more like people instead of toys. As for Sugar, we'll have to see if anyone manages to take her down or if she'll manage to win the whole thing.
Richboylion: The tie will be explained after reviews have been answered.
WAZGUCCIFAM: The tie will be explained after reviews have been answered.
Joel Connell: Don't worry. I'm not giving up on this project. It's one I plan to see through the end. I thought Alejandro's pickup was perfect too. I think Mike and Zoey have plenty of depth, but I'm going to try and add a little more when it comes time to write them.
The Aspiring Fanfic Fanatic: The tie will be explained after reviews have been answered.
Guest: Glad to see you're excited for the finale, and PI when it comes. Interesting finale prediction.
Omni Spectator: An update has come!
Okay, now that everyone has been replied to, I suppose I should clear up what happened at the vote. Fanfic Fanatic actually had the right idea with that. See, after Cody failed to convince Jasmine and Shawn to vote out Sugar, he decided to vote Alejandro out with them instead since he didn't want to take chances with a tiebreaker, and he hated Alejandro anyway so he took the opportunity. Gwen attempting to align with Alejandro didn't help either. To clear up any confusion that might come up later, I went back and edited Cody's confessional following the ceremony to make that clearer. In addition, there will be talk about the vote in this episode.
Once again, friendly reminder that Cast Swap has a TVTropes page that is always looking for improvement, so if you have a trope or some changes you want to add to the page, go ahead. Now, let's cool off by making some sundaes!

Episode 11- Sundae Muddy Sundae
"Last time on Total Drama All-Stars," Chris began to narrate over footage of Shawn and Gwen crossing the Snapping Bars. "Gwen found out from Cody that Sugar was the one that stole her diary." Gwen was shown getting helped to her feet by Cody, and then Cody was seen in the monitor room where he viewed the DVD of Sugar's sabotage. "Alejandro tried to convince Jasmine and Shawn that Sugar was a bigger problem than him." Alejandro was then shown speaking to the survivalists in the Duck and Cover part of the previous challenge. "And Sugar literally ate a rope." The pageant queen was displayed eating most of the licorice rope from the Rope Slope.
"Despite Alejandro's efforts and Gwen's temporary agreement with him," Gwen shaking hands with the charmer was depicted in the reel during the voice over. "He got the big old flush." Alejandro was last seen warning everybody about Sugar while he floated in the toilet, and then was flushed down the drain. "Adios, Alejerko!"
A flash cut ended the recap footage, and Chris was standing on the Dock of Shame. "Only five players remain. Who will live to play another day? And who will go sightseeing in Sewer City via the dreaded Flush of Shame? Find out right here right now on Total Drama All-Stars!"
(cue intro)
When the intro faded back into the show, Gwen was seen in the monitor room, sitting at the three-screen computer against the far wall from the door. She had a hardened glare on her face as she watched the montage of all Sugar's deeds in the game, including the newly added footage of Sugar eating the licorice and yanking Alejandro by the hand on the Snapping Bars. The loner especially played the scene of Sugar stashing her diary in the Mess Hall's chimney over and over again.
As she pressed a key to rewind so she could watch again, Cody peeked into the room.
"Again? Gwen, you've watched that stuff like thirty times since last night," the geek said with concern.
Gwen whirled around in the chair, pointing at her friend sharply. "I'll watch it as many times as I want. It's just… ugh! I'm so mad! I can't believe that I let myself get played by her of all people!" She motioned to the sneering pageant queen frozen on the monitor, and pounded a fist on one of the chair's arms. "It especially burns that she's still here."
"I know, and I'm really sorry. Believe me, I tried to get the others to vote with us, but they wouldn't budge." Cody apologized. "That's why I voted for Alejandro instead of Sugar. I knew that it was probably going to come out to a tie, and rather than let Chris have the power to decide, I chose to take that ability for myself." Folding his arms, he formed an annoyed look as he rolled his eyes. "Besides, it's not like keeping Alejandro around would do us any favors. If anything, it would've made it harder to get rid of him next time."
"You just wanted Alejandro gone as revenge for what happened on World Tour," Gwen accused.
"…Okay, that was part of why I did it, but it was mostly the smart thing to do with the circumstances." Unfolding his arms, he spread them out pleadingly to his friend. "The point is now Sugar doesn't have a target she can hide behind anymore. It's the four of us against one of her now. We can finally take her out."
"We better," Gwen said as she rose from the chair and kicked it back towards the computer, "I'm this close to dumping fire ants all over her wherever she ends up sleeping tonight."
Cody raised a playful eyebrow. "Is that the standard now? Steal your diary, and the culprit gets fire ants in their bed?"
"I'm definitely considering it."
The camera cut outside of the spa hotel, and panned to the woods. A flash transitioned to Jasmine laying asleep in a tree. Yawning, she sat up and stretched her arms. Undoing the rope keeping her tied to the branch she had slept on, she swung the leg over the side and dropped to the ground. To her surprise, she found a bowl most likely borrowed from the Mess Hall filled with an assortment of berries and nuts along with a note.
Picking up the note, she opened it and read, "Woke up before you this morning, and decided to gather your breakfast for you. Enjoy, Shawn." Jasmine smiled to herself, looking down at the bowl. She looked to the note again, and squinted when she thought she saw something. "PS. Don't go near the Mess Hall for a while. The interns were ticked when I went in to borrow the bowl." Humming curiously, she pocketed the note and grabbed the bowl. She picked out a nut and tossed it into her mouth, taking in the pleasant sensation of the crunching noise while she chewed.
The camera pulled back to show Shawn peeking behind a tree and watching her savor her first meal of the day. He quietly pumped a fist and whisper cheered, "Yes! My plan B worked!"
(Confessional- Shawn)
"It seems like every time I blurt something out, I either get in a fight with friends like Jasmine, or I make challenges harder for everyone," Shawn explained, thinking back to his mistakes earlier in the game. "This time, I'm gonna lay a little groundwork before I tell Jasmine that I want to go out with her. By making her breakfast, it shows that I'm thinking of her and might be interested. Good old planning never fails. I should know I planned out my entire zombie apocalypse bunker," he stated confidently, ending with a smile.
The static cut to the loudspeakers, and Chris announced from it, "Attention, punching bags! Please gather in the forest clearing, and bring your padded undies because today's challenge is a butt kicker!"
Chef, with his arm finally out of its cast, drove his and Chris's jeep through camp. Sugar sat on the back of the jeep, seemingly biting at her nails as she attempted to clip them. At Chris's last two words, Chef drove past the spa hotel and swiftly, not to mention rather smugly, bumped the pageant queen off with his elbow.
"Ow!" She yelped when she hit the ground. Getting on her hands and knees, she pointed a threatening finger in the direction Chef drove off. "You're gonna pay for that!"
"Oh, I don't think so. You're the one that's going to be paying," Gwen snapped as she, Cody, Jasmine, and Shawn walked over to her. "I hope you enjoy your last day on the island."
Patting at her pants, Sugar put her hands on her hips. "I plan to, when my last day on this here island is gonna be the day when I'm here with just one of y'all to beat. Preferably the little toothpick." She pointed at Cody.
"Hey!" Cody protested indignantly.
"Enough chatter. We need to get moving, or Chris will make whatever he has planned even worse than it already will be." Jasmine said, walking into the woods with Shawn close behind.
Sugar gave Jasmine a glare for cutting the confrontation short, and then gave each other camper the stink-eye as they passed her, eventually moving to follow them all to the challenge site.
(Confessional- Sugar)
"Now that I finally got Al out, I need to focus on taking out these other goats," Sugar told the audience. She put a hand to her chin as she thought. "I could probably take Gwen or her tech guy on in a wrestling match or something, but I ain't sure about Shawn or that weirdo girl who sleeps in the trees. Maybe one of them ought to go first."
As the group of five walked through the woods to their destination, Sugar was alone at the back of the group with Gwen and Cody several feet ahead of her, and Jasmine and Shawn led the pack a few feet further ahead of Gwen and Cody.
Jasmine glanced down at Shawn as they strolled along. "I got your little surprise this morning. Thank you, that was really nice."
The conspiracy nut looked down bashfully, rubbing at his neck. "It's nothing. Just felt like doing something special. It would've been even more special if I could've used the mess hall to put my cooking and baking skills to use."
"I think you did just fine with what you had," she told him with a warm smile. "Though, now I feel like returning the favor at some point. I just have to figure out what."
The pair fell into a comfortable silence, and the camera panned to the left to focus on Gwen and Cody behind the survivalist duo. Not wanting to even look in Sugar's direction, they concentrated on the other two contestants in front of them. When they saw the two speak kindly to each other, they began to think about their game.
"So, after we get Sugar out today, who do you want to go after that?" Cody wondered.
Gwen hummed thoughtfully. "Shawn is quick on his feet, but Jasmine is really strong. Honestly, I could pick either one and be happy with the decision. They're tough competition."
Nodding his head, Cody agreed. "Totally, but we'll have to come to a decision soon. If we accidentally end up voting for both of them, they'd vote out one of us."
"Right. Let's get through the challenge, eliminate Sugar, and keep an eye on Mr. and Mrs. Outdoors, see if anything they do could make a good reason to vote for them later."
"Sounds like a plan."
(Confessional- Cody)
"Jasmine and Shawn seem like they're cut from the same cloth," Cody noted. "Aside from one of them being a boy and the other a girl, the only difference between them is Shawn runs as fast as Lindsay when there's a shoe sale, and Jasmine could probably bench press two grown bears."
(Confessional- Gwen)
Gwen seemed to be scribbling down something in her diary, verbally thinking. "The cons for Shawn and Jasmine- Shawn has no sense of personal hygiene considering I've never seen him hit the showers once, and Jasmine, I never had the opportunity to be on the same team as her so I don't know her all that well. I probably should've started thinking about this sooner because this is hard."
(Confessional- Shawn)
"My attempts to confess my crush on Jasmine aside, it's pretty much a given that Sugar's going next. I need to start thinking ahead to the vote after this one." Shawn informed the viewers. "Gwen got further than Cody has, and she's played the game more than he has too, so she might be more dangerous for my game. Huh, didn't need to think about that as much as I thought I would."
(Confessional- Jasmine)
"Gwen and Cody are nice people, but if Shawn and I are going to make it to the end so we can duke it out, they've both got to go." Jasmine admitted. "If I had to pick someone to vote off first, it'd probably be Cody since he hasn't gone through as much as Gwen has on this show. I think I want Gwen to at least have a fair shot against me and Shawn."
(Confessional- Sugar)
"Brain burp!" Sugar announced, a wide smile on her face. "It's like a brain fart, but the good kind! Obviously I need to get rid of the tall one with the hat first. Being taller means you're stronger, don't it?"
Soon enough, the group of five had arrived at a white starting line, where Chris waited with two exhausted-looking interns, the girl with braces and the guy with shaggy hair.
"Behold, my sad, skinny interns," Chris introduced, uncaring about their tired state. "Totally forgot to feed them this week." He put a sadistic hand around their shoulders.
Sugar couldn't help but laugh, earning an annoyed look from those beside her.
The host chuckled alongside Sugar. "I know. Funny, right? Today's challenge is a race to make a delicious sundae and serve it up to good old what's-his-name and who's-this over here."
(Confessional- Gwen)
"Before I became famous from Total Drama, my family had a small budget so we couldn't always buy sundaes from an ice cream shop or make a lot of them at home," Gwen revealed. "Even though we have a lot more cash now, I still know how important a sundae can be to somebody."
"So, to make this fun for me," Chris began to explain while Chef handed out ice cream bowls to the campers, "you'll have to travel to the most dangerous areas on the island to procure the ingredients of this dessert." On his monitor behind him, a map of the island was shown. Marked with red X's were the mess hall, the diving cliff, the swamp left over from when the island was mutated, and the woods. The map was then switched to footage of a snowy slope. "Your ice cream awaits at the top of the diving cliff, which the ice machine has been making nice and slippery all week." A snow-making machine was shown at the top of the cliff before switching to a bowl of cherries sitting on a rock in the middle of the swamp. "The maraschino cherries are perched on a rock in the swamp." Another transition of static showed the mess hall, where a bowl of nuts sat on top of a barrel in the middle of the room. "You'll find crushed peanuts in the mess hall." A final switch of static showed a plant surrounded by a brown puddle. "And, the final ingredient- chocolate sauce- can be found in a pool surrounding a recently planted mutant fire flower." On the screen, a bear swiped up a paw full of sauce and began to lick at it, not noticing the fire flower turning to face it and showering the creature in a bath of fire, scorching all the fur off its body.
"You're sick, McLean," Gwen retorted with a point of her finger as she received her bowl.
Chris shrugged, unbothered by the complaint. "What can I say? Prison changed me for the better." Chuckling to himself again, he moved over to the starting line. "The first person to have their sundae completely consumed by the interns wins." The aforementioned interns were now slumped in a small pile on the ground, hungry and tired. "On your marks…" Chris pulled out his air horn canister, and pressed it. When nobody moved, he frowned at them. "What are you waiting for? They're hungry! Scram!" This time when he pressed the horn, the campers took off at a run, and Chris continued to press his horn in a redundant effort to get them moving.
The challenge had only begun and Sugar was already panting heavily. "No… fair… I can't run as fast as y'all."
Ahead of her, Gwen was running beside Cody, and the loner glared over her shoulder. "Considering everything you did, I think we're about as fair as you deserve."
Cody gave her an optimistic grin. "Chill out, Gwen. We're ahead, and we're making ice cream! This might actually be a fun challenge."
"Don't get your hopes up too high," Gwen reminded him. "With Chris involved, even making a sundae can turn into a nightmare."
(Confessional- Cody)
Cody was in the outhouse confessional, eating a tub of chocolate ice cream by the spoonful, much like Chef had done two episodes prior. The geek was so interested in his frozen treat that he didn't notice the camera filming him until nearly fifteen seconds into the clip. "What? Chef only ate the mint-chocolate chip kind. This is chocolate, the best flavor out there." He held up the ice cream tub, presenting it before going back to shoveling frozen dairy product into his mouth.
When Cody's confessional finished, the next thing shown was Jasmine struggling to climb through the snow to the cliff.
"Can't say I've ever scaled something this steep in snow before," Jasmine remarked, attempting to ascend with only one hand.
"Maybe you haven't, but I have!" Shawn called out from behind, easily jogging up the hill and past his alliance partner. "See you at the top!"
"Show-off!" Jasmine teasingly hollered.
Shawn quickly reached the top and made a run for the snowman made of ice cream that awaited the contestants, forgetting or not noticing that the ground was icy slick. His feet flew from under him, and he was sent sliding across the clifftop on his rear end.
"This just in- Shawn is the first to reach the ice cream!" Chris announced as the conspiracy nut slid right past his target.
"That's great and all, Chris, but how do I stop?" Shawn frightfully yelped. He grew more panicked when he saw the edge. "Agh, nononono!" Slipping right off, he flung out his free hand to grab onto an overhanging icicle. "Whoa! This is bad! This is very, very, very bad!"
"Jasmine has scooped up first place!" Jasmine had gotten to the top, and was collecting a scoop of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream before she dropped the scooper she had been using and was about to leave before she looked in the direction of the edge Shawn had gone over.
"Shawn, need a hand?" She asked.
"No, I'll be fine! Just go! Sugar, remember!" Shawn shouted back. He was shown struggling to find a handhold while holding onto the icicle that saved him, his bowl acting as a second hat.
Jasmine looked uncertain of what to do, but nonetheless answered, "Okay, if you're sure." With her bowl in hand, she made her way back to the way she came, and slid down the hill as if she were going down a playground slide. "Coming down!" Gwen, Cody, and Sugar were still climbing up when she sped past, and her slide loosened their own positioning in the snow. Gwen and Cody slipped backwards while Sugar's heavier physique allowed her to remain where she was.
"Hah! This is why y'all need more meat on your bones! Later, chicken wings!" Sugar continued to climb.
(Confessional- Sugar)
"I've had to go out in the snow lots of times to do chores on the farm, and lots of those times were after a blizzard blew through. A little bit of Chris's fake snow is nothing," the pageant queen boasted.
Gwen growled as she and Cody recovered from their slip. "I hate her so much right now. Cody, you okay?" She looked over to her friend, and saw he was shivering and his teeth were chattering.
"I never do well in the cold," he told her.
"Well, you'll just have to power through it. We're in last place now."
"Y'all better get moving, or you'll turn into ice cubes," Sugar taunted, sliding past them with her bowl full of ice cream.
"Hate to say it, but I'm getting there," Cody quipped through rattling teeth.
Up on the cliff, Shawn finally managed to pull himself up over the edge. Panting, he gave himself an applauding smile. "Still alive." Looking up, he spotted Gwen and Cody had reached the ice cream snowman.
"For now," Gwen said, glancing at him with a full bowl in hand as Cody filled his bowl. "We need to hurry before Sugar somehow passes Jasmine, or we might as well be dead." Behind her, Cody had finished filling his bowl, took one look at the scooper, and scooped a fourth chunk he promptly dumped into throat. "Cody, stop messing around. We gotta go." She ran off back to the hill.
"Coming!" Cody replied, following the loner without realizing he had taken the scooper with him. They both descended the hill just as the bear that had its fur burned off poked its head onto the scene.
Finally on solid ground, Shawn took a moment to process Gwen's words. "Zombification by losing to Sugar? Definitely would be one of the worst ways to go, top five for sure." He made to move over to the snowman quickly, but his feet immediately started slipping around. "Gotta remember the ice around here!" Shawn slid right into the snowman, which the bear had been licking, and his impact was enough to make the head of the snowman fall onto the bear's head. Getting ice cream dumped on its head clearly displeased the bear because it started roaring at Shawn in anger. Shawn let out his signature scream.
(Confessional- Shawn)
"Why is it only on this island that I have bad experiences with bears?" He wondered incredulously, arms spread out in an exaggerated motion.
Wading through the Wawanakwa swamp, Jasmine eventually reached the rock where the cherries were placed.
"Could've done without coming back here, to be honest," she muttered in disgust. Arriving at the bowl, she snatched one and added it to her sundae.
"Jasmine is first to the cherries!" Chris updated over the loudspeakers. "Will she keep her lead? Not if Snappy has anything to say about it."
The explorer raised an eyebrow. "Snappy?"
As if summoned by the mention of its name, an alligator rose to the swamp water's surface. Jasmine tensed, readying herself for a fight.
"Oh, one of you guys eh? I've tangled with the likes of you."
Before a fight could begin, there was a cracking sound and Sugar fell onto the scene along with a broken tree branch, both landing on top of Snappy.
Sugar huffed, putting one hand on her hip as she looked down on her scaly cushion. "Stupid tree! I almost made it!"
"What the? What were you doing up there?" Jasmine glanced up where Sugar had fallen from.
"Who cares? I made it to them cherries, didn't I?" She pointed to the bowl on the rock. "Speaking of, move it!"
Jasmine grunted indignantly as Sugar shoved her aside and onto her butt. Protecting her sundae by holding it high above her head, she glared as the pageant queen maliciously took a cherry.
"One for my fancy dessert," Sugar said, putting the cherry on her ice cream before taking another one and plopping it into her mouth. "And one for me," she added while chewing. After a moment, she spit the cherry's pit out, hitting Jasmine in the eye and making her opponent yelp in pain. "Later, sucker!" Cackling, Sugar ran off to the next topping.
"And Sugar takes the lead," Chris announced, to Jasmine's annoyance.
(Confessional- Jasmine)
"Okay, pushing me is one thing, but spitting a cherry pit into my eye?" Jasmine pointed at the eye that had been hit. "What is her deal?"
Sometime after Jasmine and Sugar had left the swamp, Gwen and Cody came. The geek was a bit more reluctant to get in the water, insisting that Gwen go on ahead. Wanting to make sure Sugar wouldn't win, Gwen went for the cherries. Observing that the water came up to Gwen's waist, which was roughly around his neckline, Cody searched around for another way besides wading that would let him reach the cherries.
To Gwen's dismay, she stepped in a particularly deep spot and got stuck.
"Ugh, really?" she complained.
"Hang on, Gwen, I've got you."
Gwen looked in the direction of shore, and saw Cody coming along on a log big enough to ride. As he passed her, he reached down and pulled her out. She sat on the log like him, and shook out the foot that had gotten her stuck.
"Thanks," she told him.
(Confessional- Gwen)
"Working with Cody has been really smooth," Gwen informed the camera. She looked up thoughtfully. "Probably because he's more focused on the game, and less on flirting with me. I like this newer, more mature Cody." Realizing how her sentence could be taken, she clarified sternly with a point of her finger, "As a friend, nothing more."
(Confessional- Cody)
Now, Cody was on a third tub of chocolate ice cream, as two empty tubs situated beside him indicated. With chocolate ice cream smeared around his mouth and an ice cream scoop in hand, Cody grinned. "I'm so Gwen's hero."
Right after Gwen expressed her gratitude to Cody for the rescue, they both gasped and turned towards where the cherries were when they heard a low growl. The camera cut to Snappy, having recovered from Sugar's unexpected drop, swimming at them. It was only when he got close enough that he lunged out of the water, causing Gwen and Cody to scream.
A pause symbol appeared over the footage, the scene freezing behind it. Chris appeared in front of the symbol with a TV remote in hand.
"Wow, they are just swamped," the host chuckled. "Who will survive the sundae challenge? And who's about to become the wildlife leftovers? Find out after the break on Total Drama All-Stars!" Then the show faded to commercial.
When the show faded back in on Snappy attacking Gwen and Cody, they were still screaming. Thinking quickly, Cody remembered the scooper that he had grabbed from the ice cream snowman and threw it at the crocodile. The item disappeared down Snappy's open maw, and he promptly began to choke, swimming away to deal with the issue.
Gwen sighed in relief, looking back at Cody. "Quick thinking."
Cody grinned sheepishly. "I guess it's a good thing I accidentally brought it with me."
"Yeah, now let's get those cherries and get out of here."
Before either could do anything, they heard Shawn's scream and glanced back at the shore. Shawn came running, and tripped over a rock in his haste, unintentionally making the bear that was chasing him fumble over the conspiracy nut's body. The bear made a big splash as it tumbled right up to Snappy, and the two promptly got into a wrestling match. Taking advantage of the moment, Gwen and Cody paddled their log over to the bowl of cherries, each taking one for themselves.
"Yes," they cheered in unison.
Shawn groaned at the shore. The duo quickly got back to where he was, and ran past him, Gwen briefly dropping a cherry onto Shawn's sundae.
"Get up, Shawn. There's still two more stops to make," Gwen encouraged him while she and Cody continued on their way.
"Okay," Shawn moaned.
(Confessional- Shawn)
"Still don't get what that bear's deal was. I mean, it was just ice cream," Shawn mused.
(Confessional- furless bear)
Shown after Shawn was the bear that had been chasing him, holding a double scoop ice cream cone of vanilla and strawberry flavors. The bear proceeded to lick the cone, but the ice cream slipped off the cone and onto the floor. Almost immediately, the bear went into a fit of rage until the camera cut to static.
"And Sugar is the first to enter the crushed nut zone," Chris updated as Sugar ran into the mess hall to pick up her next topping. "Where she'll face off against the newly rebuilt Total Drama Machine!"
"The what now?" Sugar questioned with a suspicious eyebrow lifted.
Out of a dark corner of the cafeteria came Alejandro's former robot suit. Coated in grime and missing one of its eyes as well as a section of its mouth-like meter, the robot seemed mostly held together by rope and lots of duct tape. The machine lifted an arm, one of its former claw-like ones replaced with a wooden hammer.
"Oh crud!" Sugar screamed, running out of the hammer's way. She managed to loop around it, and snag a handful of nuts to add to her sundae. Once she got the topping, she found that the robot was rolling close to her again and she backed away.
Taking advantage of the confrontation while noting the new foe, Jasmine snuck into the cafeteria in hopes of claiming her handful of nuts while Sugar was under attack. Unfortunately for her, Sugar wouldn't give her the chance.
Spotting the explorer over the robot's shoulder, Sugar gleefully called out while pointing, "Hey, robot! That girl's going for your nuts!"
The robot's head spun around, locking its sight onto Jasmine.
Jasmine scowled fiercely at Sugar. "You dirty, rotten- whoa!" She ran away as the robot came after her.
"Don't hate the people competing in the pageant, hate the pageant," Sugar quipped, snickering to herself as she slipped out to go for topping number four.
Cornered by the wall leading into the kitchen, Jasmine had no choice but to duck when the robot swung at her again, barely missing her hat. The robot tried to engage in another attack, but its hammer arm was stuck in the wall.
Taking notice of this, Jasmine grinned smugly. "Hah, looks like you hit a wall, mate." Using the robot's predicament to her advantage, Jasmine scooped up some nuts. Before she added them to her sundae, she examined them with her eye. "Hey… I love these kinds of nuts." Tossing them into her mouth, she crunched noisily. "Mmm, good stuff." Savoring her brief snack, she took another handful and added it to the sundae. With her third topping claimed, she made to leave the mess hall, only to crash into Gwen and Cody when they entered.
"Jasmine?" Gwen checked as the three contestants recovered. "Where's Sugar?"
"On her way to the last topping, I'm going to catch up. Watch out for the robot!" Jasmine swerved around them, and hit the dirt running to the next location.
Cody blinked, looking at Gwen. "Did she just say robot?"
The pair stepped into the mess hall, and halfway to the nuts, the robot began chasing them around in circles.
A flash cut transitioned to Sugar running up behind some large rocks, peeking out from behind them.
"And Sugar is the first to reach the chocolate fire zone," Chris once again updated via loudspeakers.
"Wait, is the fire made of chocolate?" Sugar pondered, confused by Chris's wording. "Or is the chocolate made of fire?"
"But Jasmine is hot on her heels and fueled by the hamster heroicness that got her onto the team in the first place," Chris continued as if Sugar hadn't interrupted. "So it's still anyone's game."
As if on cue, Jasmine ran past Sugar determinedly. She halted right before the flower and the chocolate puddle, sizing it up. "Hmph, doesn't look like a proble- whoa!" Quickly, Jasmine ducked as the flower turned and spat fire at her. She ran around the flower, and it tracked her movements, spewing fire in attack.
Seeing that Jasmine had the flower's attention, Sugar snuck out from her hiding spot and crept over to the puddle. Unfortunately for her, Jasmine saw her and decided to get payback for the mess hall.
"Watch out. She's after your sauce," Jasmine informed the flower, pointing.
The flower turned its attention to Sugar, whose eyes went wide with shock. Recovering, she glared at Jasmine. "Nobody likes a tattle, wild boots. Hey, watch it!" Sugar narrowly avoided a stream of fire sent her way, and glared at the plant. "You have any idea how hard it is to maintain this quality of hair?"
Chuckling at Sugar's misfortune, Jasmine took the moment to get her scoop of sauce for her sundae. "What was it you said back there? Don't hate the people in the pageant, hate the pageant?" Almost tauntingly, Jasmine tipped her hat in Sugar's direction. "Be seeing you at the finish line." With her sundae complete, Jasmine started her final run of the day.
"Jasmine exits the chocolate fire zone, and retakes the lead!" Chris helpfully announced
"I'll get you," Sugar growled as she retreated back behind her previous hiding place. When she peeked her head out to watch the plant, she noticed part of her hair was on fire and swiftly patted it out.
Back at the mess hall, Shawn had finally arrived, only to find Gwen and Cody still being chased by the robot. Panting, Shawn asked, "What the heck?"
Gwen managed to get over to the nuts and add some to her sundae, and glanced at the new arrival. "Shawn, glad you're here. Any ideas on how to get rid of a robot?"
"Preferably quickly," Cody chipped in as he continued to run from their foe.
Shawn did a speedy look around their environment, and came up with a plan. "Cody, lead it over by the window." Running over to the barrel where the nuts were, he took the bowl off of it and knocked it over. Cody did as Shawn asked, leading his pursuer to the windows at the front of the mess hall. "You, tin can!" Shawn's cry got the robot's attention, and it stopped to switch targets. The moment it took to do so was all Shawn needed. "You look like someone who could use some dessert!" With all his might, Shawn kicked the barrel, sending it flying across the cafeteria hard enough to slam into the Drama Machine and force both through the window. "Yeah!" Shawn pumped both arms, his hands occupying bowls.
Cody panted as he walked over to Shawn. "Thanks for the save." He took the bowl of nuts from Shawn, and shook some onto his sundae.
"To the sauce, before Chef comes and sees that you broke his window," Gwen said, and she and the boys fled.
"Good call," Shawn agreed.
Still hiding, Sugar thought hard, harder than she usually did, on how to get past the flower. "There's gotta be some way to make that thing put a sock in it." Gazing at the ground around her, she found a rock that looked big enough to fit in the fire flower's opening. "Or even better, put a rock in it!"
(Confessional- Sugar)
"Way back when there were still cave people, they used rocks for everything," Sugar said, holding her sundae in her lap. "If they could solve problems way back then, they certainly can solve problems now."
Clutching both rock and sundae, Sugar ran out from her spot with a loud yell. Dodging fire blasts, Sugar boasted, "Sugar holla, plant!" After the plant finished a round of flames, she took the opportunity to shove the rock into its mouth. As it strained to release fire, Sugar dipped her bowl into the sauce, coating it in chocolate before she ran back to the safety of her spot. Within moments, the flower combusted in a small explosion. When it passed, Sugar returned to inspect the damage and laughed at the success of her plan.
"What did you do?" Gwen demanded, and Sugar looked over her shoulder to see Shawn, Gwen, and Cody arriving. The three other contestants stared at the blackened, hardened remains of the syrup puddle.
Sugar shrugged cheekily. "All I did was make it shut its trap. Have fun trying to get sauce outta that." Laughing, she ran off to try and catch up with Jasmine.
(Confessional- Shawn)
The conspiracy nut scribbled something in a notebook. "Note to self- preventing a fire flower from breathing fire will cause combustion. Also note to self- check if Sugar has history of setting fires."
"Looks like we'll have to work with what we've got. It's better than nothing," Cody decided, scooping up a few sauce ashes and adding them to his sundae. He gasped when his sundae began to drip. "Oh no, they're still warm and starting to make my ice cream melt!"
"That's a risk I'm willing to take," Shawn declared, adding sauce ashes to his own. "Who knows if Chris will penalize us for not adding any sauce?"
Gwen glanced at the boys' melting ice cream and the darkened syrup pit. "I think I'll take my chances."
(Confessional- Gwen)
"Knowing the interns' luck, they'd just end up choking on the dried sauce. At least this way, they might still live," suggested Gwen.
"Out of the way! That immunity is mine!" Sugar shouted at Jasmine, running closely behind her.
"As if! Your game is through!" Jasmine shot back.
"Hey, there they are!" Shawn's voice called from behind, and the two front runners looked back. "Told you guys I knew a shortcut."
"Nice work, Shawn," praised Gwen with a smile. Cody had a similar smile on his face as he ran alongside her.
The three of them, along with Jasmine, cheered as they approached the finish line while Sugar grumbled under her breath about more competition. Once the finish line was within sight, everyone put on a last bit of speed to try and get in front of the others. In the end, Shawn was the first to cross. They ran past Chris, Chef, and the two interns that had been at the starting line.
The intern with braces groaned miserably from hunger. Shawn held out his sundae proudly.
"Eat up!" He told them.
Before he could encourage them further, Chris popped up in between him and the interns.
"Surprise! Change of plans- you have to eat your own sundaes," Chris stated. For once, one of Chris's twists was well-received from the competitors. All five of them beaming at the thought of having ice cream, especially sugar-addicted Cody. "First to finish wins immunity. Everyone else is on the chopping block." Chef handed out spoons so they had something to scoop with. "So, dig in!"
The final five eagerly began to eat their frozen treats, forgetting about the starving interns standing a few feet away. A few moments into the contest, Gwen was the first to complain about brain freeze. Concerned about his brain after Gwen's comment, Shawn forced himself to slow down so that his brain wasn't 'zombie-vulnerable'. For Cody, Jasmine, and Sugar, they appeared to be in a dead heat.
(Confessional- Cody)
The confessional was now littered with at least ten empty ice cream containers, and Cody had another one on his lap as he continued to eat. "At home, I hold the town record for most sundaes eaten in under five minutes. This challenge was as simple as an ice cream cone." Then he happened to glance at some of the empty ice cream containers, and realized how he looked to the outside world. Defensively, he wrapped his arm tight around the current container he was eating from. "I don't have a problem!"
After some more eating, Sugar stopped to scowl at the spoon she was using. "Forget this, I'm doing it the family feast way!" Throwing away the spoon, she practically shoved her sundae into her face, ravenously eating straight from the bowl. Jasmine and Cody paused in their own eating, and after a brief look between each other, decided to do the same. Gwen and Shawn's eyes went wide when they saw the lengths their friends were going to win.
Barely thirty more seconds passed before one of them removed the bowl from their face and held it up empty.
"Done!"
"Sugar wins the challenge and immunity," Chris announced as Sugar licked the leftover chocolate syrup from around her mouth.
Gwen and Shawn groaned in annoyance as Jasmine lowered her bowl, and joined them.
"Uh, Cody?" Gwen spoke up when she saw the geek was still going. "The challenge is over. You can stop now."
Cody lowered his bowl. "With a free sundae in my hands? As if!" He went back to eating.
"Little nerd has the right idea," Chef pointed out, walking into frame angrily. "Because thanks to nutcase over here," he jabbed his thumb at Shawn, who raised an eyebrow, "breaking the window in my kitchen, that ice cream is the only thing you're all having for dinner tonight."
"Shawn!" Jasmine and Gwen complained as Cody finally lowered his bowl, licking his lips. Shawn grimaced, realizing his plan earlier might not have been his best one.
"Yeah, especially you Gwen," Chris tacked on with a mildly irritated face, "thinking you could skip an ingredient."
Gwen sighed. "Worth a shot."
Suddenly a loud screech made everyone jump. When they all looked over at the source, Sugar was clutching her head. "How can I be having brain freeze in my head? My brain's squished down in my neck!"
Everyone stared at her in disbelief, the moment only being interrupted by the braces-wearing intern falling over from hunger.
(Confessional- Shawn)
He started out his confession, thoroughly confused. "Her brain's down in her neck? Zombies never go for the neck! How is it even… you know what, I don't think I want to know." He shook his head, waving his hand in dismissal of the topic.
A short time later, the four losers were gathered on the steps of the loser cabin, and Sugar stood before them. Their bowls were long finished and abandoned by this point.
"Well, lookie here. Y'all thought you were getting rid of me, but today ain't that day, and it'll never be that day." Sugar taunted in a boastful tone.
Gwen, resting her head in the palm of her hand, rolled her eyes. "Just get to your point."
Frowning at Gwen interrupting her theatrics, Sugar put her hands on her hips. "Fine. The thing is I know y'all are split in two different alliances. Gwen and geek-." She pointed at the two, sitting below Jasmine and Shawn.
"I have a name," Cody protested.
"Don't care." Sugar dismissed. "And the other alliance is Shawn and tree sleeper." Jasmine made a face at not being referred to by her actual name. "Since you probly will vote for each other, I guess that leaves me to be the tiebreaker vote." She made a show of tapping her chin in mock thought. "But, who to vote?"
"What do you want?" Shawn inquired.
"Either break up your alliances and backstab each other, or I'll do it for you. Doing it myself seems fun, but it'd probly be even more fun to watch you do it to each other." Spinning on her heel, she gave a flippant wave as she went to go settle into the spa hotel. "See ya at the bonfire."
"I hate her," Gwen snarled, pounding her fist on the porch steps.
"She has a point, though. Let's face it," Jasmine said, "The four of us are in two different alliances. We were probably, and maybe still are, going to vote for the other alliance and she'd just be the tiebreaker since there's five of us. At least she's giving us the option of deciding together which one of us leaves."
"That may be, but what do we even do?" Shawn replied, not sure what their next move was.
The four more heroic players all glanced at each other.
(Confessional- Jasmine)
"This situation sucks. Either we work together to come to a decision none of us will like, or we just leave Sugar to do whatever she pleases. No matter which way it goes, Sugar still gets something out of it." Sighing, Jasmine leaned against the wall. "I hope Chris is happy. He might have just ruined ice cream for me."
(Confessional- Shawn)
"I guess this is it. Since Sugar isn't going home, I may have to confess that I like Jasmine tonight." Slouching, Shawn commented, "Man, Sugar might just be worse than zombies."
Night arrived on Camp Wawanakwa, and the bonfire was lit. Sugar sat in the back row alone, gleefully watching everything play out while the four that were potentially going home sat in the front row. Cody sat on the end farthest away from Chris, next to him was Gwen, then Jasmine, and lastly Shawn.
"Elimination time!" Chris declared. "Sugar has immunity, so that leaves four of you up for possible flushing. Cody, you might be going so Sugar can have the spa hotel all to herself. Gwen, you might be going so Sugar doesn't have you after her anymore. Jasmine, you were Sugar's main competition today. As for Shawn, Sugar might not have any reason to get rid of you, but you are why Chef is so ticked off this evening."
"In hindsight, I could've come up with a way to defeat the robot without crashing it through a window," Shawn admitted reluctantly.
"Too late for that," Chris said. "Anyway, time to vote!"
(Confessional- Jasmine)
"I vote for Cody. Gwen deserves to have a shot at Sugar for playing her," Jasmine decided.
(Confessional- Cody)
"I vote for Jasmine. Don't get me wrong. She's a good person, but she's tough to compete against, especially when she's nearly double my height," Cody said, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "Sorry."
(Confessional- Gwen)
"My vote is for Jasmine. I know her less than I know Shawn, and she's a serious competitor. No hard feelings, Jasmine."
(Confessional- Shawn)
"Cody has to go. I like Jasmine, and I know Gwen a little. Cody is the only one that's a complete unknown to me."
(Confessional- Sugar)
"This is the best night ever!" Sugar cheerfully exclaimed, kicking her feet excitedly. "All the power is mine! Good riddance, -!" The voting confession was cut short before the name of Sugar's vote could be revealed.
"The votes have been tabulated, and the loser tonight is… Jasmine!" declared Chris with a wide smile.
Jasmine sighed heavily, slumping in her seat. "One spot further than last time." She stood up, as did the contestants still in the game. "Give Sugar a right hook from me, okay?" She hugged Gwen and Cody.
"Oh, I plan on giving her more than that," Gwen remarked with a fierce expression on her face as she glanced sharply at the winner of the evening.
Jasmine proceeded to hug Shawn, and then went down to the Flush of Shame. Shawn reached an arm out to her, but found himself unable to say anything. Pulling his arm back to his chest, he watched her go.
A flash cut later, Jasmine was in the giant toilet, awaiting her ride out.
"Okay, down you go," Chris began to say to her, holding up his activation remote.
"Wait!"
Chris and Jasmine stared in confusion as Shawn ran down the dock, followed by the other contestants.
"I have something to say," Shawn stated.
"Then say it. This is a half-hour show, and time is running out," Chris snapped, exasperated by the holdup.
"Jasmine, I… have a crush on you. There I said it!" Cody, Gwen, and Sugar gasped behind him.
Jasmine blinked at him, stunned. "Mate, are you serious?"
"Totally serious," Shawn confirmed. "Ever since we became friends again, I couldn't help but look at you differently. I want to go on a date you." He added uncertainly, "If you're okay with that, that is."
A wide smile formed across Jasmine's face. "Are you kidding? I'd love to! Actually, I've felt the same way."
Another gasp leaked out from Cody, Gwen, and Sugar.
"Really?" Shawn stared, stupefied before gaining a smile like Jasmine's. "That's awesome!"
"Get up here and give me a kiss goodbye, you zombie-hating bloke."
Happy to oblige, Shawn climbed quickly, to Chris's astonishment, and Jasmine swam over to the edge to meet him. Kneeling on the toilet's rim, Shawn leaned in for a kiss, but he quickly discovered that he neglected to account for any leftover water from the toilet's previous flushes.
"Wh-whoa! Whoa, whoa! Agh!" Shawn fell off the toilet and into the lake.
Chris snickered. "Oops, looks like he missed his chance. Maybe next time!" He pressed the remote, and activated the flush.
Jasmine screamed as she spun around, and descended out of view. Treading water in the lake, Shawn pouted that his kiss had failed.
"Congrats to the four of you making it to the final four," Chris informed the remaining campers as Shawn climbed back up onto the dock, soaking wet. "Sugar, the spa hotel is yours, and from now on, winners do not get to bring a guest to the spa hotel."
Sugar shrugged. "Fine by me. I didn't want to bring nobody anyhow."
"You will be sharing with Cody though, as that deal still stands."
"No way!"
Chris and the others jumped at Cody's sudden objection. The geek was glowering at the host. "Up until now, I've had no problem bunking with the winner of the challenge, but sharing the spa hotel with Sugar?" He pointed at the pageant queen. "I'd rather go back to the loser cabin than stay with her."
"Sure, go ahead." Chris rolled his shoulders. "I would've sent you off to Boney Island, but that phase of the game is over."
"Woohoo!" "Finally!" "Yeah!"
Later that evening, Sugar sat alone at the dinner table in the spa hotel with plates of pancakes, scrambled eggs, and bacon surrounding her. "Now this is the way it should be. Breakfast for dinner, come to mama!" Grabbing a plate with a tall stack of pancakes, she pulled it towards her and jabbed the top few with her fork. Stuffing them into her mouth, she began to chew while sticky maple syrup started to gather around her lips. As she looked around the hotel that was currently hers, she spotted something that made her raise an eyebrow. "What are you doing in here?"
Chris walked past her in the background. "Don't mind me, just getting myself some ice cream. Watching you kids make sundaes made me want some of my own." The viewpoint switched to a close up of the host as he began his outro. "Only four competitors remain. Who's here to stay, and who's going to get flushed away? Find out next time on Total Drama All-Stars!" While the camera stayed on a far shot of the island, there was a noise of a freezer opening, followed by an indignant shout from Chris, "Who ate all the chocolate ice cream?!"
(Bonus Clip)
The clip opened on what looked like an icy tundra, a harsh cold wind blowing across the screen. Without warning, Jasmine burst out from underneath the ice in a geyser of water. Once she landed on hard ground, she immediately wrapped her arms around herself to keep warm, her teeth chattering.
"T-th-this h-h-h-has to be the co-co-coldest place I've ever been," she stammered, a puff of air escaping her lips with each word. Soon, the noise of an engine caught her attention. "Wh-what is that?"
A snowmobile rode into view, two people clad in winter outfits driving it.
"Told you I knew how to drive a snowmobile. How do you think I got my winter sports badge?" The person in front boasted as they climbed off the vehicle.
"Got to hand it to you. Nice driving," the person that had been riding on the back said.
"W-w-who?" Jasmine tried to ask, but couldn't get out other words due to wanting to save her warmth.
The person that drove removed their helmet, revealing themselves to be none other than Harold from the first three seasons.
"Have no fear, your escorts are here," Harold comforted her with a smile.
"Good to see you again, Jasmine," the other rider greeted as they pulled off their helmet, revealing Sky. "Sorry you got eliminated so close to the finale. I was rooting for you."
Jasmine continued to shiver.
"Right. No time. We have to get you someplace warm before you succumb to hypothermia." Harold gently looped his arm around Jasmine's waist to guide her over to their vehicle. "Sky, you scoot back some. If we sandwich her between us, we should allow her to absorb our body heat."
Sky got back on the snowmobile as far back as she could safely ride, and helped Harold get Jasmine seated. Once their recovered contestant was situated, Harold swung himself on and started messing with the controls.
Handing Jasmine a spare helmet, Sky grinned at her. "Hang on. Harold's a real pro at driving one of these." She clasped on her own helmet, and Jasmine put hers on over her hat. "With him at the handlebars, we'll be out of the Yukon faster than you can say Flush of Shame."
Harold buckled his own helmet, tested the throttle, and off they went.
Jasmine- 5th
Alejandro- 6th
Topher- 7th
Sierra- 8th
Sammy- 9th
Duncan- 10th
Heather- 11th
Beardo- 12th
Scarlett- 13th
Owen- 14th
Jasmine tried her hardest, but there was no way she was beating Sugar in something like a sundae-eating contest. She put in a great effort to prevent Sugar from getting that immunity though. And at least Sugar didn't beat her by somehow pushing over a tree. Heh, at the rate she's going, she'll have to compete in maybe three more seasons to reach the finale if the pattern of her getting one spot further up continues. I bet some were hoping that she and Shawn would have a farewell kiss, but since the two of them just made up from their falling out a few episodes ago, it was WAY too early for something like a kiss while they're still exploring these new feelings for each other. Apologies if there wasn't enough Shasmine shipping fuel throughout this project. Between how the story ended up pacing and my own personal feelings in regards to the Shasmine ship, it wasn't going to get very deep onscreen.
Hopefully, unlike canon, I did this challenge justice. It probably helps that Courtney isn't competing, or is not around, for her rekindled friendship with Gwen to go up in flames. No dumb chart, no Mal exposing the chart without a scene showing how he obtained it, no Gwen breaking her friendship with Courtney over said dumb chart, and no bird vomit in Courtney's sundae. It's just five teens racing to make sundaes, four of them trying to make sure the one they all hate doesn't win immunity, two of them starting to admit their feelings, and one of them being a canon sugar freak. Cody basically doing Chef's gag from two episodes ago made this one a lot more fun.
I'm very satisfied with my final four. In addition to two guys and girls each, we still have two designated heroes and villains each, and two from each generation as well. However, probably the most important part is the representation. Gwen represents the final four of season one, where technically the original cast counts as a new cast. Cody represents the final four of season three, where Alejandro and Sierra (and Blaineley if anyone cares, which nobody probably does) joined as new cast members. Shawn represents the final four of season four, where a whole new cast participated in the game. While Sugar doesn't represent a final four on a season that featured new cast members, her inclusion once again highlights her status as a wild card, which was her original reason for being selected for the season.
Since sundaes are cold, it seemed appropriate to flush Jasmine out to the Yukon. Harold was selected as one of her escorts home because I feel like she would remind him of Leshawna, and like with Beth and Beardo, I enjoyed their interactions in the Total Shuffled series. As for Sky, she and Jasmine were involved in last season's team switch, which was brought on by my decision to swap their eliminations around (plus Beardo).
Hang tight because the battle to determine the final two is next. In the meantime, review in the box below, and remember, reviews are awesome!
