A/N: This was only meant to be a short thing, I swear, but once I get going, I can't seem to stop. O.O Anyway, my Hobbit 10-chap fic is well underway (6 chapters in!) and I cannot wait to post it once it's fully written and edited! In the meantime, I haven't got much of these drabbles left to write until we reach 100, so I'll keep at them. Enjoy! :)

Eleniel: 16
"Ada… you're tickling me."
Elrond glanced a little lazily over to his daughter before reverting his attention to his lap when Eleniel nodded slightly towards it. Her feet had been laying there for a time, but he realised with a soft smile that he'd been absently brushing his thumbs against her soles for the past few moments. Quite distracting for somebody who was attempting to get to sleep, he supposed.
"My apologies, tithen pen," he said, gently patting the tops of her feet before rearranging them on his lap and laying his hands on her ankles instead. His daughter, as expected, replied with nothing more than a quiet sigh before she snuggled back under her blanket and attempted once again to sleep.
He directed his gaze to the flames dancing in the fireplace in the Hall, where both he and his daughter had been waiting for the past half hour. Estel and the twins had been sent to a number of nearby human settlements in order to collect some crucial information regarding trading dealerships that would be written into certain documents. It had been an important job, and one they were due to return from that night. Of course, after Eleniel had caught wind of that small fact, she had completely refused to be sent to bed, wanting to stay up and be there the moment her beloved brothers returned home after two long months.
Elrond could not help but fondly wonder what the point in 'staying up' was if she was just going to fall asleep on the sofa in the Hall of Fire, anyway… but he made no comment on it. He was not overly tired, and was all too happy to indulge the young thing and surrender to her wishes.
He glanced up as low footsteps echoed around the Hall and smiled at the sight of his advisor. "Erestor," he greeted quietly, and Erestor responded with a nod. He walked towards father and daughter and gently sat himself down beside Eleniel's head, not minding in the least when she drearily opened her eyes to see who the visitor was before lifting her head and placing it down again on his lap. Shaking his own head fondly, he immediately reacquainted his hands with her hair, gently playing with it and lulling her to sleep. "Where is Glorfindel?" Elrond asked after a brief moment of silence.
"He is waiting outside along with a few others. The twins' group are coming in right about now."
"Ah, I am glad," the elf lord replied. "They are not back late after all."
Erestor chuckled. "Subsequently meaning a certain someone will not be going to bed late after all." He glanced purposefully down at Eleniel, not missing the slight smirk that briefly flickered across her lips.
Elrond rose both eyebrows. "Oh, I beg to differ," he said. "No doubt at least one of her brothers will have an armful of her tonight. Isn't that right?" Both turned their gazes on the elleth in question, knowing she was fully awake and listening, but she made no movement to prove this point. Shaking his head with a slight tut, Elrond moved a hand back down again to scratch gently at the bottom of her foot and, as expected, her eyes flew open, head lifted off Erestor's lap, and her legs were pulled towards her extremely quickly.
"Don't," she ground out, glaring at her father, but a mere raise of his eyebrows and the gentle smile which played across his lips soon after made her break. She rolled her eyes, though a grin – albeit a tired one – painted her face at the same time. She lay her head back down but kept her legs tucked under her for good measure.
"Which brother will it be tonight, then, hm?" the advisor asked playfully, and Eleniel shrugged.
"Whichever one smells best."
Both ellyn laughed at that. "I believe they are dignified enough that they will take a bath before bed," Elrond told her.
She rose an eyebrow incredulously. "Even Estel?"
"Especially Estel!" Eleniel turned quickly towards the entrance to the Hall as the unmistakable figures of her brothers strode in. She grinned widely at the youngest before practically leaping off the sofa and running straight to him, blanket still wrapped around her shoulders. He bent slightly at the knees in order to catch her as she flew into his open arms, almost knocking him back, but he held on with a laugh, squeezing her against him tightly. "Well, we've certainly been missed!"
Elladan scoffed, slumping down tiredly on an unoccupied sofa once he'd greeted both his father and Erestor. "Speak for yourself. It is me she usually goes for first."
Elrohir crossed his arms over his chest and frowned. "No, it's me."
"Definitely me, Ro."
"You are confused, Dan."
"Actually, I believe you are both wrong." Glorfindel walked in and, catching Eleniel's eye, opened his arms wide. The elleth glanced at both twins for the briefest of moments with a mischievous look before stepping away from Estel and flying straight at the balrog-slayer, wrapping her arms around his neck and legs around his waist. "It is me!" He grinned at the two and winked at their open-mouthed expressions.
"The audacity!" Elladan said with a gasp. "Two months we have been gone, and what does she do? Hug the one who she has seen every day since! Why, you little imp!"
"I do not think we shall accept any form of greeting, now," Elrohir told her, gaining a very insistent look. "In fact, we may never speak to her again."
"Oh, I agree, muindor! Such measures shall have to be taken."
Estel rolled his eyes and moved to sit down on a separate chair, pouring himself a glass of water from the jug set on the wooden table as he went. Eleniel, meanwhile, laughed at her brothers' antics and, once she'd been set down by the puckishly grinning blond, she raced over to them and, amidst protests from both, squashed them with a hug that pulled them so close their heads knocked against each other. "Ow!" Elladan cried out while Elrohir rubbed the bumped spot with his hand, but Eleniel's spluttering laughs could not keep their angry facades at bay for much longer, and they quickly relented, each taking their turn in grabbing their little sister into fierce hugs while simultaneously reminding her which the better twin was.
Once everyone had said their hellos to all who needed them, Eleniel made her way back to her spot on the sofa, picking up her blanket from where she'd dropped it while rushing into Glorfindel's arms. Her head went right back into Erestor's lap, but as she was about to stretch her legs out across her father's, she suddenly seemed to remember something and gave him a very hesitant look.
Chuckling, Elrond gently took hold of her ankles and placed them back in his lap. "You are safe for now, tithen fileg," he said, and she smiled, immediately melting once again under the hands threading through her hair.
"So… what was this about us being dignified enough to take baths before bed?" Elrohir asked, taking a sip from the wine glass Elladan passed over to him.
"Eleniel claims that whoever smells the best tonight will have her in their bed next to him," Erestor informed them.
Glorfindel snorted. "That is one way to go about it."
"Indeed," Estel said. "What if we all smell the same?"
Eleniel shrugged. "Then I suppose I'll have to sleep with you all… in Dan's bed. His is biggest."
Elladan threw back his head and laughed. "I see you have this all planned, tithen muinthel," he said, and the elleth grinned impishly before shrugging once again.
"How can I honestly choose between you?"
"Ah, that is a good argument. We all use the same soap, after all," Elrohir concurred, sending the room into laughter once more.
