The Kamen Rider of Remnant
chapter 2: What is a Kamen Rider?
(Zack POV)
When I woke up, I expected to be hurting. I also expected my friends in my hospital room, not a grey-haired man. Yet I wasn't as much in pain as I was sore. The man turned around and looked at me. He gave off a presence of authority, but also a hint of uncertainty, before I could think anything else, he spoke up.
"Ahh I see your awake, good." He said before taking a sip from his mug.
"Where am I, and who are you", I asked.
He looked confused at first, like he couldn't understand Japanese. I had learned English a while back for my trip to New York, so I repeated my questions again and this time he replied.
"You're at Vale general hospital, you've been here for about 3 days now, I am Professor Ozpin, headmaster of Beacon Academy."
"No offense, but why is a headmaster of an academy in my room, I expected maybe a doctor or nurse."
"Some of my students found you, apparently an explosion happened in the sky and they noticed you falling from it. My question is how you got up there."
I didn't know exactly how to reply, mainly because I had no idea why I wasn't in Helheim right now. Lockseed vehicles usually teleport you to Helheim if you're on earth when you use it. I needed more information.
"Before I answer that I need to know where I'm at geographically, because before the blast I was in Zawame Japan."
He looked confused again before he answered. "You're in the kingdom of Vale, on the continent of Sanus. One of the four main kingdoms of Remnant."
This only confused me more, I didn't want to ask but I knew I had too.
"We aren't on planet earth are we."
He looked at me before nodding his head yes.
"Our planet is Remnant, are you saying you come from another world entirely?"
"I'm afraid so", I said sadly. "I was fighting a battle against an armored rider to decide the legacy of a fallen comrade. I won the battle, but it seems in the end he got his wish in making me disappear."
"Armored Rider?" Ozpin questioned.
I looked around spotting my coat off to the side, I pointed at it and Ozpin brought it over. Opening the pockets, I was relieved that all the gear was still there. Two Sengoku drivers, both blank proving that Shura didn't survive. One geneses core unit, four lockseeds and one vehicle lockseed all safe. I looked up to Ozpin and said.
"An Armored rider, sometimes known as a Kamen rider, is someone who has gained power to fight for whats right. I was entrusted with this power to help fight against monsters called Inves, as well as the corrupt company Yggdrasill."
"If the armored riders fought for whats right, then why were you fighting one yourself."
I sighed and grabbed the banana lockseed, looking at it as I spoke.
"I once followed a man named Kaito Kumon, a man with a vision to change the world. We were team Baron, a dance team. He sought after a golden fruit that could grant god like powers. He believed that only the strong willed could survive. After awhile he left me in charge of team Baron, me and other armored riders eventually realized that his rule would change the world, but it would also destroy it. In the end a rider named Gaim won and made a new world taking the Inves with him. He saved us all. Even though Kaito turned into someone who would have destroyed us all, I still respected him for making me who I am today. The armored rider I fought tried to tarnish team Barons name. claiming himself as Baron. We fought a battle to the death, and I won, but for my victory Ive ended up here."
Ozpin looked amazed, he thanked me for telling him my story and asked for me to visit him at beacon academy when I was released. Now I am sitting in my hospital room wondering what will happen now. I'm in a new world, all my friends probably think I'm dead, and I have no way back. These questions kept plaguing my head till I eventually fell asleep.
