Hey all, new chapter is up! Hope you enjoy!

JOE

I was slowly limping my way through the woods. I was breathing too fast, my breaths coming out in big short gasps. I knew exactly where I was and wished I could be moving faster. I could see Chet's house through the trees.

Just one step in front of the other, I kept telling myself. It was dark out, I wondered what time it was. Hopefully, Chet was home.

What if he wasn't home? I asked myself, in a panic. No, no… He will be home! I could see the back deck, only a few more steps left. My body was aching in pain. My broken leg was on fire. I didn't know how I made it this far in my condition.

"Joe!" A voice called in the distance, bringing me out of my thoughts.

No! It can't be! I willed myself to move a little faster, but my adrenaline was quickly running out.

"Little brother! You can't hide from me!" The voice yelled out again. No, no, no, Tom was catching up. I turned my head around quickly to see where the voice was coming from. I didn't see Tom anywhere. It was also very dark out and I couldn't see much of anything. My good leg tripped over something and I fell down hard.

"Ahh!" I tried to keep myself from crying out in pain. Instead of throwing myself a pity party, I sat up painfully, my whole body screaming at me in protest. Somehow, I staggered to my feet, not sure how I managed to get up, and continued my journey to Chet's house.

"Where are you little brother?" Tom's voice sounded nearer. I didn't let it phase me, just one foot in front of the other, I kept telling myself. Every step I took sent sharp pains through my body. I willed myself to not give up and start crying.

Finally, I had managed to reach the back steps and very painfully made my way to the back door. I was feeling lightheaded and really thought I was going to pass out at any moment. I had reached the back door and knocked on it slowly. I leaned on the house, praying someone was home.

"Chet.." I pounded on the door, "Chet... Please be... home" I begged quietly. I didn't hear anything coming from the house. I sighed in defeat. The tears were about to fall when I saw my friend coming to the door. It took a minute for him to unlock it.

"Joe? What the..? Chet was astonished. He pulled me in for a hug and I gasped hard in pain.

"Chet.. We need ..to get.. Inside" I was breathing heavily. Chet didn't ask any questions as he helped me inside and closed the door behind him.

"What.. Are you okay Joe?" My friend asked, concerned written all over his face.

"I've.. I've been better" I replied softly. It felt like every muscle in my body was throbbing.

"JOE!" I heard a scream from outside.

"No…" I gasped, "Chet, go... hide." I looked at him.

"Who's out there? Is it your twin?"

"He followed... me… I should have... been quicker." Chet pulled out his cell phone and was about to call for help when the back door flew open.

"Put the phone down!" Tom yelled at Chet, he had a gun in his hands. Chet slowly put his phone to the ground and then put his hands up in the air.

"Don't.. Don't shoot" Chet tried to talk in a calm voice.

"I will do what I want! I thought we were bonding little brother!" Tom was still waving the gun around.

I didn't know how to answer him, "Maybe I will just shoot both of you and be on my way!".

"No… T.. Big brother, please" I pleaded with my twin. He walked closer to Chet and I.

"Say nighty night" He laughed and hit me hard in the head with his gun, everything went black.

CHET

My head was pounding. That was the first thing I felt. All my memories came rushing back. Joe had appeared on my back deck, looking pale and worn out. His twin showed up moments later with a gun and knocked Joe unconscious. Then, I got the same treatment. I opened my eyes quickly. I was bound to a chair, hands and feet tied tight. I looked across the room and Joe was in the same predicament. He was still unconscious.

"Joe" I hissed, he didn't move an inch, "Joe!" I said a little louder. I was growing more worried by the second. I took a deep breath and tried to calm down. Joe looked terrible, his face and neck were severely bruised and there was dried blood everywhere. His abdomen wore the same look, he was solely wearing boxers and his leg was in a cast. What had happened to my friend, what had Tom done to him? Tom, where was he? I did a scope of the room but he was nowheres in sight. It dawned on me where I was. We were in my basement, in my furnace room of all places.

"Ughhh" I heard a moan and turned to face my friend again, "Chet...?" Joe asked.

"Yea, I'm right here." I replied softly.

"Where are ...we?"

"By the looks of it, in my basement."

"And.. where is he?"

"I'm not sure, I haven't seen him."

"I'm.. I'm so sorry ..Chet" Joe looked at me with sad eyes.

"What are you sorry for Joe? You have nothing to apologize for"

"I… I shouldn't have...come here…"

"Hey, don't do that. You escaped and can here for help. It's...it's not your fault that he followed you here."

"Okay….Chet... How are we ...gonna get out… of this mess?"

"What a good question, little brother" Tom appeared out of nowhere, "You're both awake, good! We're going to have so much fun!" He walked closer to Joe and patted his hair.

"You stay away from him!" I yelled from my seat. Tom turned towards me and slapped me hard in the face.

"Stop.." Joe muttered out, "I'm the... one you... want, Tom."

"Now, now, now. What did we say about my name." Tom moved towards Joe again, "you're supposed to call me big brother". He slapped Joe's face hard.

"Sorry… big… brother." My friend spoke quietly. Tom was making Joe call him big brother. That was disturbing.

"That's better." He smiled like an evil villain from a Disney movie, "Chet, your phone keeps buzzing. I'm going to need you to unlock it for me and no funny business or Joe gets it." Tom crept closer to me and undid one arm restraint. He handed me my phone. I touched the lock screen and there were several notifications on it. Some from Frank, Biff and Tony all making plans for the coming day. We were supposed to be meeting up at some point.

"Go to the settings" Tom instructured, I nodded quickly and followed the process to delock it. I grudgingly passed my phone back, "There we go. Now, I can answer all these messages. They are very annoying." He tied my arm back up.

"Let him..go" Joe piped up, "I'm the..one you..want." I gave my friend a stern look.

"And why would I do that? He knows where you are. He would go tell all your friends. No, I think it's best he stays with us, since his parents are gone for a while."

"How do you know that?" I asked. It was true, my parents had just left to go help my aunt. She had fallen and broken her hip, she lived three hours away.

Tom shrugged and didn't answer my question, "I'll be back" He left the room.

"I'm sorry…" Joe gasped out, he was having a hard time breathing.

"Stop apologizing. You're just like your brother. Being sorry for things you can't control." Joe nodded slowly, looking at me with sad eyes, "Frank is going to know something is up. We were all going to meet up at your house. They will find it strange when I decide not to come. They will send help, you'll see." I looked at my friend.

"I hope..so…" I'm not..sure...how much..longer I ...can last, I thought to myself.
