While me and Vincent talked a little in the cave, Blue was busy making acquaintance with his Skorupi. Now, I could understand what Blue was saying due to Dallas' collar, but from what it sounded like the two were actually getting along very well! Seems like both can be a bit sadistic, talking about how Blue wants to try the Skorupi thing of hiding in sand and attacking from nowhere. May have to talk to the little guy, because we gotta walk through a desert at some point.
Ugh, I hate sand. Not in a /Copyrighted Movie Franchise From A Copyrighted Evil Company\ type of way, but in a way where I don't want to get near it unless I am at a beach. Because you know what sand means? Sand means hot, and I hate the heat. It's why I dislike Fire-Type Pokemon. Not as much as this little sock puppet trying to climb me, but still. Wait, sock puppet trying to climb me?
I look down and throw my leg out just as Scrap tried got up to my leg, staying at a pretty much pure ninety degree angle as he stayed there. "Scrap!" Is shouted to him. "You know I am not a touchy person! Especially not with a damn Ghost-type!"
Scrap just looked at me for a moment before the two slits that represented his eyes looked down upset and hopped off. Despite not really liking the guy, for some… Arceus damned reason, him waddling off sad is making me upset. Probably just because he looks like a Pikachu. Yeah, that's definitely it. No other reason whatsoever… I swear, if I end up being soft for this thing, I'm gonna kill… Actually, I've grown to enjoy everybody's presence about the same at this point, besides Scrap. This Vince guy even seems pretty cool! Speaking of…
"So, you a cave dweller often or are you just dropping in this one time for Pokémon hunting?" I ask, looking up at him. He was surprisingly taller than I was, and I was already pretty high up there.
Vince chuckled and shook his head, waving it off a little. "Oh, nah, I'm just sort of a hermit I guess, going wherever, whenever I want, y'know? Actually trying to get to those Ranger guys, I saw some… weird activity." He explained, his voice seeming to waver a small bit at the end there. Should I question it? Probably. Will I mention Candace? Definitely.
"Oh!" I let out, "I'm actually traveling with a Ranger right now! A gal named Candace, her partner is actually Scrap over there." I pointed towards the Mimikyu, who was now hanging near a… strange Pokémon I hadn't noticed before. One that was running around Scrap extremely fast! No, not running…
Rolling.
Wait a second, I heard about that 'mon! Rolling foot thing, one orange eye, literally just looks like a big hunk of coal? It's a Rolycoly! Now the question is catch or train? I glance over to Blue who made his way back over. "Hey, Blue? Think we need another Rock-Type or should we, y'know, actually train?"
Blue seemed to sit in thought for a moment before shaking his head. 'Cress Gym Leader use Water-Types. Rock not good idea, I suggest grind.'
Well, he said it himself. Training it is! And right now, the only one besides Jazz who could be of use is… I reach back to my belt and grab one of the Pokeballs from it, tossing it out. "C'mon out, Silky! We're doing this, start us with a Bug Bite!"
In the middle of the air, the Sewaddle poofed out of the ball in the blast of light and landed just before the coal based Pokemon. "See-Wa!" she shouted out before jumping forward, gnawing her large insectoid biters into the Rolycoly, which clearly did a pretty good chunk of damage as the attacked 'mon stopped rolling and fell onto its side.
However, it did quickly recover, rolling back before revving up and then charging to Silky with a fully charged Tackle. But, showing a surprising amount of strength, she took it like a champ and stood up just a little bit behind where she was before.
"Hah!" I shout out excitedly, "Yeah, that's right Silky! Keep that Roly in place with String Shot, then Bug Bite the bastard!" I ordered, glancing over to Vincent, who was actually cheering the Sewaddle on. Okay, I officially like this guy, he's cool.
Silky looked to the Rock-Type and shot a long line of the white string, wrapping around Rolycoly before finally falling to the ground. The latter was unable to move after that, definitely not enough to be able to avoid another Bug Bite. Seems that bite was all they needed, as the Rolycoly seemed to wobble a little in place before falling to the ground, Silky coming back from her more intense demeanor and looking happy and excited.
She hopped a little in place as I came up to her, reaching down and giving her a gentle pat on the head. "Good job, Silky!" I let out with enthusiasm, looking to the Roly. "Hm… Well, fuck, I can't just leave it here, now I feel bad."
Vincent smirked a little before reaching into his backpack, pulling out a number blue berries, setting them besides the downed Pokémon. "Oran Berries, they'll heal the rocky guy up whenever he comes back around!"
"Huh! Good do have someone with that stuff on him," I said, patting Vincent on the back, "Good on you for keeping in mind the good of fainted wilds. You have a heart for them, huh?"
Vincent chuckled and just nodded his head, looking down at the Rolycoly. "Yeah, I do I guess. Used to have a job with their well being in mind, but that uh… went south. Fast." He went quiet before taking out a Great Ball and leaning back down, tapping it on the downed Pokemon. "But… I'll change that. I won't just leave a guy down like that. I'm not some asshole, like those Vision idiots. They clearly have alternative motives. If only I knew what..."
"Holy Miltank," I shout a little quietly, "I was literally having that argument with my friends! They are so secret evil guys, right?" I feel me and this Vince guy are going to get along pretty well.
