Chapter Nine

All Embrace Him

Heathcliff meandered to the clubroom. He was still dumbstruck by what had transpired not moments ago. Or was it minutes ago? How long had he been walking? He shook off the time-lapse he created and kicked in the front doors of the old school house. They closed quietly behind him. A bit too quiet for his taste in doors closing-after-kicked-open. Something was in the air. He could smell it. It smelled like douchebag. He could taste it. It tasted like cheap cologne. He could feel it. It felt like powerful magic and a very man-shaped presence beyond the next set of doors. He showed those doors that this is Sparta and was shocked by the image behind them.

"What in the goddamn fuck!?" Heathcliff exclaimed upon entering the room. The Sparta-shown doors closed and snapped the silence that followed his entrance. To his left was everyone in Rias' club. Ahead of him was Rias and a man in a tacky burgundy suit who stood up and faced Heathcliff. Rias stood up next to the man.

"Riser, this is my Pawn, Heathcliff King. Heath, this is Riser Phenex of House Phenex. He is visiting from the Underworld…" Rias trailed off as Riser interrupted her with a chuckle.

"My dear Rias… Riser is not some guest in your facility. You are Riser's fiancée." Riser explained in the most pretentious tone Heathcliff had ever heard. Setting aside the odd detail that this man spoke in third person, Heathcliff dropped his bag by the door and glared at him.

"Riser, I've already told you that I'm not marrying you!" Rias suddenly shouted. Her outburst was cut short as Riser grabbed her by the collar. That was enough for Heathcliff. He jumped to the ceiling and whistled. Riser looked up.

"Sup' fucker?" Heathcliff asked sarcastically as he tackled Riser to the ground. He planted his boot in the man's stomach and forced the air from his lungs and choked him. Riser burst into flames as he struggled against Heathcliff's grip on his throat. Heathcliff, barely bothered by the flames, moved his boot and lifted Riser by the neck and threw him at the wall. From the shadows appeared a silver haired maid who caught Riser and set him down gently. Rias grabbed Heathcliff by the arm and held him back. Barely.

"Who the fuck are you? You wanna get knocked the fuck out lady?" Heathcliff growled. His anger was not quenched and could not be tamed. No matter what kind of wacky activity Rias put him through, Heathcliff still considered her a close friend. And unfortunately for Riser, he was in Heathcliff's iron sights. The silver haired lady dashed forward. She was almost too fast for Heathcliff to interpret with his senses. Almost. Her fist barely grazed his chin as he leaned his head back. Her impressive speed led him to jump back a bit.

Wow, that was close. Never met anyone who was that fast. He thought. The woman was equally surprised that she missed him with her attack. Rias stepped in and held her hands up.

"STOP! Grayfia, please, he's only overreacting." Rias said to the woman. "Heathcliff, I'll handle this. Go over with the others." She said to him. Heathcliff sighed and obliged with her orders. He jumped back and landed on the wall next to Akeno. She grabbed his hand as he stared with murder in his eyes at Riser. The man's flames vanished as he leered at Heathcliff with some semblance of fear that Heathcliff could taste. Grayfia lowered her guard and the stillness in the room became palpable.

"What murderous creature have you made part of your peerage…?" Riser wondered in reference to Heathcliff. Rias now glared at him, as did Akeno.

"Heathcliff is not a murderous creature. He's my beloved pawn and friend. Now I would watch yourself before I let him kill you." Rias threatened. Riser laughed haughtily. Heathcliff could sense the nervousness behind it.

"Him? Killing Riser!? Preposterous! Riser is the strongest the house of Phenex has to offer! Rias, you're idle threats will not stop this engagement from going through!" Riser bellowed. Rias tried to respond but Heathcliff's bestial growl hollowed out the sounds in the room and spiked fear into hearts.

"You gotta sleep sometime… Bird-boy." Heathcliff grumbled. Riser sneered and turned away from him. Grayfia eyed Heathcliff both curiously and menacingly. She then sighed and stepped between Rias and Riser.

"Well, it seems that there's no settling this diplomatically, not with a boy like that in Rias' corner. Also, her refusal to marry Riser is evident. Why don't we settle this disagreement with a Rating Game?" Grayfia suggested. A crude smile split Riser's face as Rias thought about the proposal. Heathcliff didn't care what a Rating Game was. He just wanted to slit Riser's throat.

Where's that son-of-a-bitch get off trying to marry Rias and getting handsy against her will? Heathcliff thought.

[Not sure. I wonder what a Rating Game is. Do we get to kick his ass in it?] Kiva responded. Heathcliff chuckled as Rias made eye contact with him and winked. He grinned.

"I accept the Rating Game challenge. Grayfia, please make the preparations." Rias said. Grayfia nodded and turned to Riser.

"Lord Riser, do you accept the Rating Game to settle this dispute?" Grayfia asked. Riser smirked and snapped his fingers. A ring of flames appeared on the ground next to him.

"Riser accepts the challenge. But Riser doubts Rias has the strength to prevail over Riser's complete peerage." Riser said as a group of fifteen women, all aged and sized differently rose from the flame portal. Heathcliff's eyes narrowed as he saw them. Riser walked over and put his arm around the eldest and bustiest woman.

"Gaze upon Riser's peerage with your envious eyes! We are far stronger and as the rules of these peerages go, Riser can do as he pleases with them. Right, Queen Yubelluna?" Riser asked as he slid his hand into Yubelluna's kimono. He fondled her breast, which only made the tension in the room become a very weird one. Heathcliff shook his head at Riser and grinned.

"Look, I'm not sure what you're trying to prove by groping her… Cause I can do that too. You're not quite that unique and awe-inspiring there bud, but you sure are a special cunt." Heathcliff chuckled as Riser glared at him. He released Yubelluna and spat at him.

"Talk all you wish. Riser will still have the last word in the end when you lie bleeding on the ground." Riser sneered. Heathcliff chuckled deeply and pulled Akeno into his arms. He slipped his hand past her crossed arms and cupped her breast. Riser's jaw dropped. Akeno let out a squeak of surprise and pleasure as Heathcliff's powerful frame embraced her and fondled her sensitive areas.

"Like I said, I can do it too." Heathcliff said. Akeno blushed furiously and hid her face in his arms. Rias turned away from them with mixed emotions. Heathcliff could tell Asia, Kiba, and Koneko were staring at him in shock. But Heathcliff didn't care too much. He just wanted to see Riser squirm in anger. The man regained his composure and glared at Heathcliff.

"Riser will be sure to hurt Rias' Queen a lot. Riser can promise you that." Riser threatened. Heathcliff wanted to hear that. It fueled a powerful, protective, and raging fury in his soul that made him let Akeno go and face Riser down. He shifted his feet and stared Riser down with murderous intent.

"If you do that… I'll bash your skull in with your own arm." Heathcliff growled. The air grew tense again.

[Hey Heath. Remember that trick I figured out with your senses and powers?] Kiva echoed in his mind. Heathcliff grinned and tapped into his symbiotic abilities, combining them with a little magic power and sprouted obsidian blades from his arms. They curved over his fist and formed a cage of blades around his hands. They extended almost a meter beyond his hands and came to a fixed point.

"Hellfiend's Hands." Heathcliff said. He realized he just invented a new spell but was set on using it to spear Riser to the wall.

"Mira, take care of this fool!" Riser ordered. A small girl with a padded staff darted out of Riser's peerage and tried to strike Heathcliff in the stomach. He easily dodged past her and stopped on a dime. He turned to impale her with his spear-arm but he was stopped dead in his tracks by Koneko.

"Heath… I want to kill them too. Save it for the Game." Koneko whispered as she held him back. Heathcliff retracted his blades and returned to the other side of the room with Koneko. Mira stood in shock as the fear of instant death blew over her and she returned to Riser's side. Rias audibly sighed in relief.

"Well… if everyone is done trying to kill each other… The terms of the Rating Game should be set down. Rias?" Grayfia chimed in. Rias cleared her throat and gave Riser a hard gaze.

"My terms are simple. Ten days for preparation. The game will be held in a replica of this campus, and if I win, our engagement is called off." Rias stated firmly. Riser huffed and grinned a very shit-eating grin.

"Accepted. Riser and his Peerage will now take leave. See you soon, dear Rias." Riser said. With a snap of his fingers, he and his girls were consumed by flames. Grayfia smiled at Rias and vanished as well. After a moment of silence Rias sighed and collapsed on the couch. Everyone but Heathcliff went to her side. His anger had subsided and he could now realize his foolishness.

Ah shit… I think I went a bit overboard there, Kiva. Why'd you egg me on like that!? Heathcliff yelled in his mind. He heard a laugh.

[Sorry, I wasn't sure if you were going to scare them or kill them. But hey, everything's fine, right?] Kiva chuckled. Heathcliff sighed inwardly and leaned against the wall.

Yeah, but I thought I said I didn't want to be like a monster… And guess what, I am. Heathcliff slid to a sitting position. The light from the ceiling was soon blocked off as Rias loomed over him. He could sense the displeasure in her but stayed silent.

"Heath… I'm happy you're so adamant about defending us but… please let me deal with the others from the Underworld. Riser is far more powerful than you think and he could've killed you." Rias explained. She crouched down and cupped his cheek, forcing him to look at her. Heathcliff couldn't help sighing and glancing away.

"No… I acted like the monster I am. Sorry." Heathcliff mumbled. Rias leaned forward and kissed his forehead.

"Heath, you're not a monster. You're my beloved Pawn." Rias whispered. She grinned and squeezed his cheek. Heathcliff smiled a bit and felt himself blush.

"Thanks…" He whispered. Rias stood back up and Akeno replaced her. She watched him wallow in his own misery for a moment before taking his hand in hers. She sat seiza-style and smiled at him.

"Heath… sweetie… Please let me know next time you want to fondle me in front of people. That was rather embarrassing." Akeno said bluntly. Heathcliff felt a pit of self-hatred and shame open in his stomach as he bowed his head.

"I'm so sorry Akeno… I… Wait, what?" Heathcliff felt his emotions flat line as the realization hit him. She giggled and leaned in and kissed him.

"You're so sweet. But you look like you need some loving. Come here." Akeno shifted her position and pulled Heathcliff's head down onto her lap. He laid there motionlessly and emotionlessly for a moment as she started stroking his head. His slightly long hair on the top of his head spread apart for her fingers to reach his scalp. Her other hand gently tracing the lines of his face.

What is this…? I feel so relaxed and safe… Mmh… Heathcliff thought. He cozied up to her and enjoyed the tingly sensations she left when she touched his skin. His senses dulled as he was lulled into a state of pure, relaxed bliss. Heathcliff figured he ventured into the land of sleep several times on her lap. But from one moment to the next Raynare and Kala appeared before him as he opened his eyes.

"Huh…? Did I fall asleep?" Heathcliff sat up slightly and noticed Rias sitting adjacent to Akeno. Asia sat by his legs. Akeno smiled down at him as he rolled over and rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

"Hey sleepyhead. We were waiting for you to wake up." Akeno said, leaning down and kissing his forehead. He felt a hand on his head and looked to see Raynare smiling at him.

"We heard you were all upset and angry earlier… Are you feeling better? Did you want a hug?" Raynare asked. Heathcliff kept quiet for the moment. He was so relaxed and warm that a hug would just be splendid. But Akeno was literally under and above him. He nervously glanced at her and she just smiled and winked.

What-uh… What'd I miss?

[From what I gathered, they're all worried about you. Rias also mentioned the other night about your emotional issues. I'm glad you weren't awake for that. It was embarrassing even for me since I know how ravaged your mind is. They had a rather in-depth conversation about you.] Kiva explained. Heathcliff felt embarrassed just thinking about it. Now every girl that was close to him knew about his emotional disturbance.

"Heath?" Rias' voice snapped him out of his stupor. Heathcliff sat up and shook the fog from his mind.

"I'm alright… I think. Kiva told me you guys were all concerned for me… But I don't want to bother you like I did to Rias last night…" Heathcliff trailed off as Rias shuffled over and threw her arms around him. Akeno pushed her over and hugged him as well.

"Bother us all you want. You're too sweet to ignore." Rias giggled. Heathcliff didn't like being coddled, but at the same time he did. So for the meantime he leaned into the two girls as they held him close. Soon enough he felt them starting to tug him around a bit. He grew annoyed and slowly pulled himself out of the hoard of women and stretched his aching muscles.

"Alright, if we're done for today I'm heading home… I could use an actual bed to sleep on… Not that you weren't comfortable Akeno, it's just that the floor isn't." Heathcliff chuckled. Akeno walked up next to him and they shared a kiss.

"Alright, let me know if you need another nap." Akeno said with a wink before leaving. Heathcliff watched her go and grinned to himself. He picked his backpack up and suddenly felt himself grow much heavier. He looked over his shoulder and saw Raynare hanging onto him with a dumb smile on her face. Kala caught his free arm and Asia circled in front of him.

"Oh for fuck's sake… I was going to take the express lane home. I can't take everyone." Heathcliff said. Rias giggled and tugged on his coattail.

"Poor Heath, what're you going to do with all of us?" Rias asked, hanging onto his shoulder. Heathcliff sighed and rustled everyone off of him before patting Asia on the head.

"I haven't gotten to talk to you since you joined us. C'mon, I'll take you with me back to the house." Heathcliff said. Asia smiled at him and hugged him. Heathcliff grinned and picked her up and let her latch onto his back. The others groaned in annoyance as Heathcliff turned and opened a window to jump out.

"Jesus, fine, I'll take someone else with me tomorrow." Heathcliff told them. Rias smiled almost menacingly while Raynare and Kala had very sly grins. He felt a chill on his neck and left the room with a powerful leap. "See ya later…"

"Asia, how are you doing? I haven't seen you since I pulled you out of that wacky-ass ritual." Heathcliff asked as he jumped off a building and web-swung to another. Asia hung on for dear life.

"I'm okay. I was worried about you, since you were so upset." Asia mumbled into his neck. Heathcliff chuckled and skidded to a stop on a tall rooftop. He let Asia down and sat down on an A/C unit.

"Let's chat a bit. C'mon, sit down." Heathcliff patted the steel box and Asia hopped up next to him. She leaned on his shoulder as they stared up at the moon.

"I haven't been a very good friend. I was a little selfish and almost forgot that I was fighting for you when I left that church." Heathcliff admitted. It was a feeling that was in the back of his mind. He had almost forgotten her while wallowing in his own self-deprecation. He put his arm around Asia and she snuggled into his side.

"I know you did everything for me… I just wish I could've told you how much I appreciated your kindness. You keep calling yourself a monster... right?" Asia said. Heathcliff nodded and looked at his hand. He felt his own strength. It was absurd.

"You were willing to give into that monster to save me. There is no shame in being yourself, Heathcliff. Thank you for facing yourself to save me. I don't deserve your kindness." Asia stated, shocking Heathcliff. He looked down at her as she smiled and rested her head on his chest.

Does… Asia understand me? Heathcliff wondered. He hugged Asia and kissed the top of her head out of instinct.

"No. I'd do anything for the people who accept me for who I am. Even after learning all about me… you say that of all things?" Heathcliff said as he held back his emotions. Asia giggled.

"When I was exiled from the church… it was for being kind to a Devil. I healed him… and they treated me as a witch and a monster. So, don't change. Don't fight yourself. You're still Heathcliff." Asia explained. Heathcliff was in shock. He didn't think he could relate to anyone as much as he did to Asia.

She knows my pain. She could see it, couldn't she? Heathcliff continued to hold Asia. Her scent, her presence, was calming. Heathcliff forgot himself and the world for a moment.

But not all of it… That's another story… another day. Heathcliff sat back again and stared up into the dark sky. He was no longer worried for his new friend. She sat calmly in his grip and couldn't help but sigh happily.

"So… why did you become a Devil of all things? I know Rias said you were dying… even after your thingy was returned…" Heathcliff said quietly. Asia giggled and squeezed him tighter.

"So I could stay with you." Asia answered simply. Heathcliff laughed and ruffled her hair. He stood up and picked her up in a bear hug.

"Good a reason as any. Well, let's get home." Heathcliff said. Asia jumped on his back again and he walked to the edge of the roof. She snuggled against him.

"Can I stay with you tonight?" Asia mumbled. Heathcliff chuckled.

"Sure."

The Next Day…

Heathcliff woke up to a knock at his bedroom door. He went to move and realized Asia was lying on his chest, fast asleep in her nightgown. He sighed and stayed still. The knock sounded again and he aimed his wrist at the door. With a precise web he turned the handle and cracked it open. His mother's head suddenly poked in and smiled at him.

"Heath… Rias said you all were going on a camping trip. Have you packed at all?" Caroline asked quietly. Heathcliff glanced at the clock and saw it was six in the morning. He rubbed his eyes and yawned.

"No… why, are we leaving soon? I thought we had awhile before that…" Heathcliff mumbled in response. Caroline clicked her tongue and walked into his room. She opened the closet and pulled a suitcase out. She started packing it with clothes.

"I'll handle this. You focus on getting up once Asia wakes up. She's already packed, mind you." Caroline said. Heathcliff silently thanked her as he relaxed. He nearly fell asleep again but the weight on his chest moved slightly. Asia sat up and yawned.

"Mm… Heath? How did you sleep?" Asia asked, straddling his stomach. Heathcliff stretched his arms and sat up.

"Alright… little tired. When did I fall asleep?" Heathcliff asked. He noticed how most of his clothes were still on.

"Almost as soon as we got back. You must've been tired." Asia said. Heathcliff nodded and slid out from under her. Asia sat next to him and laid her head on his shoulder. Heathcliff merely accepted her presence and relaxed. She patted his head and eventually got up.

"The others should be ready to go as well. You better go take a shower." Asia advised as she went to leave. Heathcliff obliged and got himself together to take a shower. Usually he left his senses dulled to sooth the strain on his focus, but with how his life was slowly changing, it was easier and easier to just sense. Just feel. And feel he did. He noticed two intruders on his shower time within seconds of them approaching the door. He merely wrapped his towel about his waist and waited for their vain attempt at sneaking up on him.

"Haven't you two ever seen ninja movies? You can't sneak up on the guy who does the sneaking." Heathcliff said as he reached back and caught two faces by their ears and pulled the fully nude Raynare and Kala into his view.

"Owie!"

"Ouch, Heath!" they complained as he pinched their earlobes. He gave them a stern look in the eye and released them. The pair knelt before him, doing nothing to hide their nudity.

"Why do you insist upon this? Do you really feel that obligated to me?" Heathcliff demanded. Raynare smiled and her chest jiggled when she bounced. Heathcliff kept his head level, his eyes were on their own adventure.

"Well, yeah. And I'm kinda excited because you didn't outright kick us out. Did something change? Did it?" Raynare fired back. Her gravity-defying proportions made it hard for Heathcliff to mask the truth of the matter. The truth being that something had indeed changed. His binds of nobility were his and his alone to either uphold, or divide out. They were making it a hard decision.

"Wait… I see that look on your face. You're actually thinking about it…" Kala observed. She leaned forward and pinched his slowly reddening cheek. Unable to hide it, Heathcliff quickly devised a superb alternative.

"Uh… well, let's just say that it is under heavy scrutiny. And… I may be open to more, thinking, so to say." Heathcliff muttered as he slowly diverted his eyes. He tried to remain discreet, but Akeno's words still echoed in his mind. So it was almost expected of him to lose his composure as the two lustful women pounced on him. Raynare tugged on his hyper-sensitive hearing by whispering in his ear.

"C'mon… you know you want to. I'm right here" She trilled in his ear. It invoked a beastly instinct deep within Heathcliff, a feeling so powerful he had to physically fight it to remain calm. A small semblance of calm.

"Look, I just said I'm thinking about everything! Nothing happens as of now, it's all up in the air!" Heathcliff explained hastily, trying his best to not hurt the girls as they tried pinning him. He didn't know where to put his hands to push them off. He settled on pulling himself out from under them, using the slick floor and a well-aimed web. The two Fallen Angels pouted as he slowly got up and heaved a sigh of relief.

"Okay… just settle down for now. Nothing is official. Like I said, there's a lot to think about which doesn't even include this wacky training session that Rias is putting together. Which, by the way, I'm leaving for today." Heathcliff explained. The girls got up and slowly started converging on him again. But this time Heathcliff's senses told him to wait a moment. And wait he did. They picked a cheek and each planted a kiss on him.

"Fine. Just keep us in mind." Kala pouted. Heathcliff released a sigh and patted her head. Raynare smiled and hugged him. He did his best to ignore the fact that she was naked.

"He can't forget us. Not when we're going with." Raynare said. Heathcliff glanced down at her in surprise.

"Wait, what?"

"You've got to be fucking kidding." Heathcliff muttered as he hoisted the exceedingly large backpack onto his shoulders. Ahead of him, Rias and Akeno lead the group up the mountain towards where the 'training camp' was located. Heathcliff, boosted by his symbiotic strength, easily carried the backpack. But he had to rely on the heavy mutations Kiva applied to his body to achieve it. Another step into the world of monsters.

Why didn't we get a damn car or something? I mean, the road is big enough. Kiva, how's my body holding up? Did those mutations work? Heathcliff called to his companion. He felt the usual electrical stimulation of the creature connecting and heard a small hum.

[Yeah, everything's fine. They made you less human, but they heavily increased the density and structural strength of your bones, cartilage, muscles, and connective tissues. I basically applied some of the Morph transformations, but permanently. There's only so many I can apply before you cease being human.] Kiva explained. Heathcliff sighed, reminded of the consequences of mutating his body. The previous mutations had already made him less human. Now with being half-devil, and half-symbiotic human, he was slowly losing what made him feel he was still himself.

What happens… what happens when I stop being human altogether? He thought glumly. Kiva laughed.

[If that day ever comes, I'll grow my own body.] Kiva jested. Heathcliff appreciated the creature's sentiment and continued trudging up the hill. Rias called back.

"We're almost at the cottage. Come on, Heath!" Rias shouted. Heathcliff gritted his teeth and grew annoyed.

You're the one who gave me this shit… Fuckin, look at Koneko! How the fuck she that fast with this shit!? Tell me, Kiva, how much stronger can you make me without permanently changing me into the Morph? He wondered. The creature hummed in response.

[Quite a bit. Why? Ah, never mind. I'll do it.] Kiva responded. Heathcliff felt the sudden, and very drastic change apply itself to his body. Another step into the monstrous grave. But he assumed it would be fine.

"You know… my strength level in the Morph is still more than double this… but it'll do." Heathcliff muttered as he felt the weight on his body lessen, whereas he became far more powerful, weighty, and durable. He then stopped walking, garnering the attention of Kiba, who was some paces ahead of him.

"Heath? Something wrong?" Kiba asked, concerned for him. Heathcliff grinned wickedly and walked up, politely pushing him aside. Kiba rose a brow and then dropped his jaw as Heathcliff launched up the hill in a huge bound.

"HAHA!" Heathcliff bellowed in laughter and excitement at his new level of strength as he landed at the top of the hill with a thunderous crash, breaking the rocks under his feet with his weight.

"Whoa, this new strength is gonna be hard to get the hang of… Why didn't you give me this much power right when we connected?" Heathcliff wondered aloud to his companion. Kiva hummed in the back of his mind.

[You probably would've killed yourself with this level. Whereas now, since you need to get stronger to fight Riser, I think you're ready for it. This is the maximum amount of power your human body can take without transforming.] Kiva explained. Heathcliff spotted the 'cottage' Rias spoke of and set his bag down. The building was a mansion in the middle of nowhere. But that was a secondary concern of Heathcliff. His focus was on his new level of strength, outclassed only when in his Morph. He still felt normal, but he was clearly stronger. His movements held more power, more physical power, and were faster. Much faster.

"Ha, this is awesome. I feel brand new. Like I just chugged the whole energy drink factory's supply." Heathcliff said, launching a punch that created a shockwave of air. Normally blows of such concentrated power were left to his Morph form.

"Heath… what was that?" Akeno asked as she walked up next to him. Heathcliff wrapped her up in his arms and threw her onto his shoulder with ease.

"Just a little mutation Kiva applied." Heathcliff said with a grin. Rias walked up and looked him over. She reached forward and squeezed his tight arm muscles under his t-shirt.

"Oh my, you're muscles got bigger… I didn't think they could get any bigger. But, what exactly did Kiva do?" Rias asked, still admiring his physique. Heathcliff happily flexed and picked Rias up as well, having her on his other shoulder. Of course, not only was he showing off, but enjoying the soft thighs against his head.

"Well, he modified my body again, applying some of the drastic changes that I undergo in my Combat Morph while I retain my human appearance. So I guess you could say I'm half-devil, a quarter human, and a quarter Synergetic. I was more human before, which is to say… weaker. But at the same time, becoming this strong while retaining human form is fuckin awesome." Heathcliff explained as he walked with the two girls on his shoulders towards the mansion. When they reached the doors, he set them down and retrieved his bag.

"So, why did you not undergo these changes before?" Rias asked. Heathcliff dropped his bag by the door and jumped up to the balcony to hang by his boots.

"He said I wasn't ready to learn to control it, of course. Makes sense, seeing as how it took me a long time to master my previous level. But we had a discussion while I slept on how to improve myself for fighting demons and stuff, and suggested this." Heathcliff told her as he slowly lowered to eye-level with Rias from a web. She smiled and patted his forehead.

"Well, good job. I hope to see you master all of your powers and skills within the next ten days. That goes for everyone in my peerage." Rias said, addressing the others as they arrived. Raynare and Kala soon ran up and surrounded Heathcliff.

"Did I hear that right? You're muscles got bigger?" Raynare asked, holding his head hostage in her cleavage. Heathcliff muffled a response.

"Hey, Ray, look, they did. He's way sexier now. Not that he wasn't a head-turner before." Kala said as she prodded and felt his flexing arms. Heathcliff released his web and landed in a crouch, freeing himself of their grasp.

"Ah, air…" Heathcliff muttered. He stood up and was again surrounded by women. This time Asia joined them.

"Wow Heathcliff! You're incredible! I wish I was as strong as you." Asia said, jumping on his back and nearly choking him. But her weight was almost nonexistent now, though before even a small person like Asia forced him to exert himself slightly.

"Thanks, but I owe it to my buddy Kiva. He's a real help." Heathcliff said with a grin. Raynare and Kala busied themselves with admiring his powerful arms. He glanced over to see Akeno smiling at him. He had expected a frown, or even a scowl. But no, his girlfriend merely smiled at him. Happily, not even a smidgen of anger or jealousy was cast through her eyes to his six sense. He broke away from the others, confusing them as he did so. Heathcliff approached Akeno and pulled her into his arms. She was surprised but wrapped herself around him nonetheless. He then promptly walked into the open and leapt into the air.

"Heath, what are you doing?" Akeno asked as he landed them atop a flat roof of the mansion. Heathcliff sat down and let her straddle his lap. He smiled, loving the feeling of her on top of him.

"I wanted some alone time with you. Talk… make out, usual stuff." Heathcliff said with a wry smile. Akeno giggled and pushed him onto the roof. She hovered over him, her hair tickling his cheeks.

"Which one do you want to do first?" She asked, caressing his cheek with her hand. Heathcliff pulled her into his arms again and laid his forehead against hers.

"Talk, since we won't do much of it when we start kissing." Heathcliff suggested. Akeno nodded and laid her head on his shoulder. They watched the passing clouds for a few moments. Soon the urge to ask her something pushed against Heathcliff's mind.

"Akeno…" He started. She perked up and aimed her amethyst eyes at his. "Are… are you really okay not being the only girl for me? If that happens, I mean… Like you said…" He trailed off. Words weren't always his strong suit. Akeno pulled him closer and cupped his cheek. They embraced each other closely. Heathcliff felt his heart pounding. He wanted her. But he wanted more as well. He also wanted to figure out what the hell Rias's problem was.

"Heath… you can have whatever you want. And I'll be fine with all of it." Akeno answered. Heathcliff felt it he did not hear what he needed to.

"But why would you be?" Heathcliff asked. Akeno silenced him with a kiss and continued to do so for several moments. When finally she broke away, Heathcliff felt a slight sense of fear as she mounted him and gazed into his eyes intensely. He hadn't seen that look before. Nor did he believe any good came of it.

"Because I'm not giving you up without a fight. I'm going to keep you to myself as much as possible. Like right now…" Akeno trailed off as she pinned Heathcliff's hands and kissed him passionately. Heathcliff did not dare resist. He now understood a bit more of what Akeno was all about. She was having fun keeping him to herself.

Oh, I get it now. I don't suppose she means to use me, or treat me like a toy. But I guess there's something fun about that. What exactly have I gotten myself into? Heathcliff thought, letting himself be dominated for once. He had no complaints. Akeno shoving her tongue down his throat felt amazing.

[Looks like a political love-struggle between multiple women contending over one Aussie Asshole.] Kiva laughed. Then the creature suddenly disconnected before Heathcliff could respond. He cursed the alien and continued to enjoy himself. Akeno broke away, licking the saliva connecting their mouths up and swallowing it. Heathcliff breathed heavily, his heart racing and his mind pleasure sensors begging for more. Though he would not admit it, he wanted Akeno to continue. Made it easier on him.

"You're rather submissive. I like it. What's changed?" Akeno asked leaning down and nibbling on his ear. Heathcliff chuckled and felt his spine melt.

"Dunno… easier to just let you have your fun. You could let me use my hands, at least." Heathcliff said. Akeno relented and released his hands, which he immediately used to feel her chest.

"Oh, Heath! You're naughty today…" Akeno said, grinding her hips. Heathcliff grinned sheepishly and whistled nonchalantly.

"Eh, you know. Can't help myself." Heathcliff responded. Akeno smiled and leaned in to kiss him again.

"Ahem." Heathcliff glanced to the side where Rias stood with a rather annoyed grimace on her face. Akeno sat up and smiled. A cruel and knowing smile. Heathcliff regained his senses and could feel the heavy tension between the two girls.

Hey little buddy, I think I know what Rias's problem is. Kiva reconnected.

[Oh yeah. That makes sense when you think about it.]

"Hi Rias. Something you need?" Akeno asked in a sweet but condescending tone. Heathcliff felt some of his fear return. He was afraid he might not make it off this rooftop with the way Rias was staring at him. She turned her malice to Akeno.

"Yes. I need you to firstly, get off Heath, and second, help me unpack and divide the rooms to everyone. Heath, I need you to unpack and find yourself your room." Rias demanded. Akeno reluctantly got off of Heathcliff and he quickly sat up to hide his device. Akeno winked at him and vanished in a teleport with Rias. Heathcliff was left feeling stiffed and somewhat disappointed.

"Damn… did I just get blue balled…? Shit…"

I suppose I should warn you about this. So this is your warning.

Later that evening…

"Heath!" Raynare exclaimed as he entered his room. Or, at least, Heathcliff had assumed this was his room since he moved into it earlier.

"Raynare… what are you doing in my room? Or am I an idiot and walked into yours?" Heathcliff asked. He had detected someone inside, but thought nothing of it. He was sure this was his room.

"No, this is your room. I just wanted to see you. Where did you run off to earlier?" Raynare asked. Heathcliff sighed and sat down on his bed to untie his boots.

"The roof." He answered simply. Raynare leaned against his back and pressed her breasts into the back of his neck while she laid her chin on his head.

"Oh? I assume you had some fun. But why the frown?" Raynare asked, caressing his chest. Heathcliff ignored her, trying to focus on the impossibly tight knot he tied on his boot. But he humored her and answered.

"Eh, Rias has a tendency to interrupt us… and kinda blue balled me at the same time. Really fuckin annoying now that I think about it a bit more." Heathcliff said, breaking his focus from his boot. Raynare suddenly started tugging on his arm and he complied, turning to face her.

"That's the worst. But I know I can remedy it! Want to?" Raynare asked with a mischievous gleam in her eye. Heathcliff warily thought of what her suggestion could be.

"And how might you accomplish that?" Heathcliff dared ask.

"By stuffing your cock down my throat." If Heathcliff knew he was going to hear that blunt an answer, he would not have asked. His regret was strong, but the inexplicable choking he felt and shock to his system distracted that feeling.

"YOU WHAT!?" Heathcliff shouted. Raynare suddenly shushed him and pushed him onto the bed. She grinned and gripped his belt.

"C'mon… I'm sure you want it. I can see it in your eyes. You want to see me choke on your dick. I know you do." Raynare whispered. Heathcliff swallowed hard and resisted her advance.

"What makes you so sure? And why the hell would I want you to choke? That's not healthy." Heathcliff muttered, feeling Raynare's other hand start rubbing. Heathcliff's mind slowly started succumbing to the lustful thoughts of Raynare. His rationality plunged into the depths of oblivion.

"You're already hard… you must be so backed up. Been awhile… am I right? Am I in for a big one?" Raynare asked, licking his jugular. Heathcliff felt his head spin.

Oh fuck… oh shit… what… what do I do?

[Hey… Akeno did say she was cool with it. But don't listen to me. I've no notion of human mentality… Nah, I do. Go for it.]

You really are just a bad influence, aren't you? Disconnected.

"Ah… alright… if you-fuck- insist. Just… stop… rubbing it on my… jeans." Heathcliff managed to say between heavy pants. Raynare stopped assaulting his neck and her hand stopped moving.

"Yes! Alright… lay back and prepare yourself for the best blowjob in the world." Raynare said as she slid down his torso and landed by his belt buckle. Heathcliff breathed deeply as she undid his pants and pulled everything down in one go. She licked her lips as the full length of Heathcliff's package stood before her.

"Damn, you're pretty sizeable. At least twenty some centimeters?" Raynare guessed as she slowly gripped him. Heathcliff sucked in a quick breath.

"Twenty three, exactly." He muttered. Raynare smiled at him and moved her face over his length. She slowly let a drop of her saliva drip down onto the tip and she let he tongue roll out. Heathcliff was surprised by how long her tongue was. He was in for a wild ride.

"Oh… wonderful…" Raynare said as she slowly enveloped the tip in her mouth. Heathcliff nearly lost his composure right then. Raynare glanced up at him as she wrapped her tongue around him and drove his fellow deeper into her throat. She barely gagged as he passed the threshold of her esophagus and felt himself fully enveloped. He felt amazing as she hummed slightly and began moving he head up and down. He felt as though she was pulling his life right from his body. Exhilaration, heat, passion, and absolute pleasure engulfed him. He put a hand on her head as she licked and sucked and shoved him further into her mouth.

"Fuckin hell… R-Raynare… I don't think…" Heathcliff mumbled, feeling himself about to explode from the inside out. She pulled him out of her throat and stroked hard.

"Go ahead. I love swallowing." Raynare said before stuffing him back into her throat. Heathcliff could barely hold onto his own sanity as he gripped the bedframe, his extreme strength cracked the wood. Soon he felt the ultimate release of pressure. The valve of lust and lost pleasure snapped off. He felt himself swell in Raynare's mouth and begin to unleash a torrent of his fluids without warning. He nearly blacked out as he felt the last pump exit his body, his legs and arms static from pleasure, his mind muddled and decomposed. Slowly Raynare pulled him from her mouth and his solid state remained even after such a climax.

"Holy… shit…" Heathcliff mumbled as he watched Raynare swallow the last gulp of his cum. He stared in shock at her. He could have sworn he unleashed a liter at least.

"Mm, you're pretty tasty. But it looks like some of it got left behind on you. I'll clean you up…" Raynare said, and promptly began licking his solid buddy again. Heathcliff, not having recovered the strength in his now limp limbs, was sent into another shock of pleasure. He felt drained, but the pleasure was building again as Raynare expertly licked him all over and started sucking again. He soon came again and unloaded another huge level into Raynare's mouth.

"Shit… I couldn't stop myself…" Heathcliff groaned as Raynare swallowed yet another load. She smiled when she was done and released his member from her mouth. He went slightly limp and tried to catch his breath.

"Wow, two big loads. I wonder if I can get more out of you." Raynare said with a wicked smile. Heathcliff did not have the strength nor air in his lungs to argue. She let him recover himself and his mind slowly came back to him. But it was not long before he looked into her eyes and saw a measure of satisfaction in them. And he also promptly stared into her deep cleavage that her t-shirt did little to hide. He immediately got hard again.

"Shit! Y-Y-You don't have to again! I just looked at your boobs and… AH!" Heathcliff shut himself up before he started spilling his other secrets. Raynare giggled and picked her heaving chest up with her hands.

"Want to play with them? It'll be fun. And help you take care of your hard-on. Well, I want to do that." Raynare said. Before Heathcliff could protest she took her shirt and bra off, freeing her ample bust to his craving eyes. He needed very little convincing to reach forward and take her breasts in his hands. Which he did with fervor.

"Oh, Heath… they're kind of sensitive…" Raynare whimpered. Heathcliff toned down his rough handling of her breasts and took instead to caressing and groping them gently. Raynare smiled and grabbed him by the shaft again and began stroking. Her hand was soft and firm, just as her breasts were soft and let his fingers dig in, but neither sagged nor were imperfect. She began increasing her pace against his member and eventually used both of her hands. Heathcliff felt himself go limp with pleasure and leaned back as Raynare brought him to another climax with ease. She giggled as he gushed out and covered her breasts, hands, and stomach in his seed. Heathcliff, always ready with an apology, held his tongue as Raynare used hers to lick his semen off of her breasts. He got hard again.

"Oh… my, my. Whatever am I to do with you?" Raynare asked as Heathcliff regained his breath again. He felt drowsy and closed his eyes.

"Ugh… I… I'm really tired after that… Y-You don't have to…" Heathcliff never finished his sentence. He fell into a deep sleep. One so deep, no wraith dared bother him.

"AH!" Heathcliff bolted upright in his bed and felt his senses explode as he suddenly regained consciousness. He held his head and watched the visions of his dream pass him by. He shook them away and noticed the rising sun just beyond his window. Training was to start today. He slowly got out of bed and noticed that his jeans were still on. His boots were off by the door, and his army green t-shirt was haphazardly thrown onto the headboard. Along with a solid black lace bra and a blue t-shirt far too small for his shoulders. It was then he noticed the presence next to him. He would've noticed sooner, had he not have been preoccupied with ignoring his dream, which seemed more real by the minute.

"H-Holy hell in a sandstorm…" Heathcliff mumbled. He stiffened as her heart rate increased and her presence strengthened. She woke up and sat up, stretching her nude torso to the morning sun.

"R-Raynare?" She turned and smiled tiredly at Heathcliff. She leaned in and planted a kiss on his lips. He felt he should turn away, recoil, but he refused. He accepted her kiss and felt warm and calm. But the easily solvable mystery remained.

"Morning, handsome. You slept like a log after all that. I was surprised I didn't suck your very soul out." Raynare said with a lewd grin. She put her hand on his thigh and leaned forward, kissing him again. Heathcliff could taste something salty and musky on her lips. His mind rolled as they parted.

"Wait… so you really… did all that to me? W-What happened after I fell asleep!?" Heathcliff asked. He felt a small sense of panic arise. An anxiety rightfully achieved. Raynare giggled and kissed his cheek.

"Well, you passed out with a raging hard on… couldn't rightfully let it go to waste, so I sucked another big load out of you. Then you went limp and I fixed you up for bed and went to sleep myself. Hope you don't mind I stayed here." Raynare said, cuddling him against her side. Heathcliff felt himself calm down and rested his face against her breast. He sighed and felt the expected guilt wash over him.

"Why did I let you do that…? I shouldn't…" Heathcliff trailed off as Raynare shushed him. She smiled and kissed the top of his head.

"Settle down you goofy boy. It'll be alright. You needed it, and I was happy to do it for you. Now you're all relaxed and rejuvenated to begin training. Don't worry about anything except getting stronger. And please, come see me if you need anything, anything at all. I'm more than happy to help you… you did spare my life after all." Raynare explained in a motherly tone. She patted his head and shushed him before he could protest. He settled down and enjoyed her embrace. After a moment Heathcliff reached over and retrieved her bra and shirt.

"Here… I better go get ready." Heathcliff said as he pulled away from her. Raynare nodded and accepted her clothes. She got up and headed out towards the door. "Hey," She stopped and turned to watch Heathcliff as he stared out the window.

"Heath?" She wondered. He glanced back at her and hid his blush.

"You don't owe me anything. I'd gladly save your life again, should it mean we could… share moments like this again." Heathcliff said quietly. He felt her approach and lean over the bed to kiss him on the cheek.

"Thank you, Heath." Raynare whispered. She smiled and began to pull away, but Heathcliff stopped her by catching her hand. Raynare patiently awaited his words.

"C-Could… could I have… another kiss?" Heathcliff asked quietly, flogged with embarrassment. Raynare giggled and came back, turning his head and kissing him firmly.

"You can have as many as you want." Raynare said with a smile. Heathcliff blushed and let her leave.

[Well, well… Super-Single Heathcliff now has two girlfriends, and one of them blew him. Soon the title of Ultimate Playboy will be yours.]

Shut the fuck up you damn alien.

[What'd I do?]

Ruined the moment.

[Oops, sorry!]

Once, twice, thrice Heathcliff dodged Koneko's attacks. He was simply having fun with it. His increased strength made for some seriously dexterous movements. Dodging her attacks was no longer a challenge. Paired with his heightened senses, and seriously improved Presence Sense, his mutated body left her in the dust.

"Alright you worm, when did you get so fast?" Koneko asked as she whipped a tree at Heathcliff. He caught it with ease and spun around, launching it back at her. Koneko punched it in half and barely caught Heathcliff's side kick as it blew through the dust. He disconnected from her grip and leapt back across the clearing. Koneko glared at him.

"Just yesterday. Why? Weren't you paying attention?" Heathcliff wondered sarcastically. Koneko glared heatedly and kicked up a boulder, launching it at him with a fierce kick. Heathcliff caught it and shattered it against another one. He smiled as she finally stopped her assault.

"Well, I can see you're well trained in hand to hand. Learn it from someone else?" Koneko asked, sitting down on the shattered tree trunk. Heathcliff hopped up on a branch and hung from it.

"Yeah, my buddy taught me the basics and some moves. He's the real martial artist. Not supernaturally strong, though. But I'm sure you have some wisdom to share." Heathcliff said as he dangled from a web. Koneko threw a sharp splinter at his web and cut him down. Heathcliff landed on his feet and rolled to the side as Koneko tried to strike his solar plexus with a vicious uppercut. She sighed.

"Well, if you can hit your foe, always aim for their center. Aiming for extremities is for combat with weapons. Kiba will show you more about that. And always strike with as much force as necessary." Koneko explained simply. Heathcliff understood her advice and decided to put it to the test. He stood and waved Koneko on. She took her fighting stance and rushed him, eager for a chance to hit the untouchable Heathcliff. She threw a flurry of attacks that he dodged and weaved by, finally taking a solid stance and deflecting her punch to the side. Koneko was surprised as her eyes widened when he cranked a powerful hook into her side and sent her flying into the tree line. She clambered out of the bushes.

"You might be smaller than me, but aiming for perfect opportunities is what I do best." Heathcliff said as he walked over to Koneko and helped her up. She sighed and tried to hit him again, her fist finding air once again.

"Yeah, you don't need me to teach you how to fight. Just remember to keep your cool when fighting. If you get worked up, you make mistakes. Like I just did." Koneko sighed. Heathcliff patted her head and laughed.

"Thanks, this was fun. And helpful." Heathcliff said as they ventured back towards the mansion on the hill. Rias was waiting for them on the porch as they returned.

"Hey you two. Sounded like a serious fight back there. Who won? No, let me guess…" Rias trailed off and set her tea down. She tapped her chin as Koneko sat down on the stoop and rubbed away the pain in her side.

"Heathcliff is literally untouchable. Not cool." Koneko sighed. Akeno approached and helped heal her bruise as Heathcliff happily cracked a few joints and relaxed.

"Heath, you're turning out to be quite a catch. I'm glad you joined us." Rias said as she got up and moved to Heathcliff's side. She caught his arm and began running a hand across it.

"Power, strength, ferocity, all built into you. I wonder what else you're capable of." Rias said, her hand finding his abs and laying there. Heathcliff quietly ignored how much he was enjoying her praise and oddly sensual touching. She pushed his arm into her bust and Heathcliff certainly tried his best to ignore it. Which was hard to do when another set was pressed against his other arm. Stuck between two soft chests. Not that he was complaining.

"Heathcliff is very impressive. So big, so strong… hard like steel." Raynare's sensual voice whispered to his left. Heathcliff grinned sheepishly and stood steadfast. Rias cast a suspicious gaze across Heathcliff's torso at the Fallen Angel who simply smiled coyly. Heathcliff remained still.

"What's that all about? Trying to imply something?" Rias asked. Heathcliff felt a small bubble of panic screaming in his chest cavity. Raynare giggled at Rias's question and ran her hand down Heathcliff's leg. He flinched ever so slightly.

"Oh, no… Not at all. I'm just as… enchanted by Heathcliff as you are." Raynare teased. Rias blushed and hid behind Heathcliff's torso. He relaxed slightly until Rias's hand gripped his.

"I'm not enchanted… Just proud of my pawn. He's very reliable and absolutely bristling with potential." Rias said quietly. Heathcliff grinned in appreciation of her praise. Raynare slid along his side and her hands made their way under his shirt. Heathcliff managed to pry his arm free and could only put it back around Raynare.

"Oh yeah, full of explosive potential." Raynare commented suggestively. Heathcliff shot her a glare trying to get her to quiet down. The last thing he needed was everyone knowing about the night before. Soon enough Kiba walked up with wooden practice swords and broke the dangerous tension in the air.

"Hey guys, what's going on? Heath, you ready to keep training?" Kiba asked as he stopped before the trapped Australian. Heathcliff thanked the forces of fate and dislodged himself from between the two girls, throwing an arm around Kiba's shoulder and walking off with the confused boy.

"Kiba, wonderful timing. C'mon, got training to do!" Heathcliff exclaimed as he almost bolted off with the poor lad. The girls were left to contest between themselves about Heathcliff. A soon to be argument Koneko wanted no part of.

"Heath… If I may, what exactly was that weird scene back there?" Kiba asked, handing Heathcliff a wooden sword. Heathcliff took the weapon and sighed heavily.

"Well… you know I decided to date Akeno, right?" He started. Kiba nodded and urged him to continue. "So, basically… I didn't really see it at first, but apparently I'm the recipient of not only Akeno's affection, but apparently Raynare's, Kala's, and I'm suspecting even Rias… Which is fuckin wild to think about. I almost don't believe it." Heathcliff explained. Kiba nodded at the information and took a moment to process it.

"What about Asia? She seems to like you, too." Kiba suggested. Heathcliff shrugged.

"I've no fuckin clue, bro. Wait, why am I even telling you this? We barely know each other." Heathcliff said. He had talked to Kiba once or twice, but other than those encounters he scarcely knew him. Kiba chuckled and patted his arm.

"That's alright. Now's a good a time as any to get to know each other. With all that's happened, I'm not surprised that we're almost strangers." Kiba commented. He looked up at Heathcliff and reached out to shake hands.

"Yeah… well, here's to hopefully a friendship, eh?" Heathcliff said, shaking Kiba's hand.

"Yes indeed." Kiba agreed. He then bonked Heathcliff on the head with his sword. Heathcliff grunted and frowned at him.

"What was that for?" Heathcliff asked, knocking the sword away. Kiba laughed and started putting some distance between them.

"We still need to train. So, en garde!" Kiba shouted. He then rushed forward and attempted to strike Heathcliff who merely stepped back and tried to hit back. Heathcliff underestimated how hard it really was to strike with a sword, and found Kiba parrying his blow and jabbing him in the stomach within seconds. Heathcliff jumped back and watched Kiba as he held his sword in a guard.

"Seems you have a lot to learn about swordplay. How about starting with the basics?" Kiba said, lowering his guard. Heathcliff nodded and waited as Kiba walked up to him.

"First of all, it is a two handed sword. Use both hands, about an inch apart from one another on the handle. Stand with your feet apart, shoulder width, and relaxed. There you go. Now follow my movements…" Kiba trailed off as he took his stance next to Heathcliff and started showing him the ropes.

Hours Later…

Heathcliff sat down on a rock, his arms covered in red welts and his head slightly sore. He accepted the water bottle from Kiba as the swordsman sat down beside him. They were quiet as they refreshed themselves.

"So… did you have fun?" Kiba asked. Heathcliff chuckled halfheartedly and looked over the welts on him.

"I guess you could say I did. You… You always been that good with a sword? You hit me. ME of all people!" Heathcliff exclaimed with a laugh. Kiba humbly shook his head and waved his hand.

"Ah, stop. I'm still not as good as some people are, and have been. But I never really took to it until Rias found me. But that's another story altogether." Kiba said. Heathcliff noticed a sense of dreary melancholy within Kiba and left the question of his past alone.

"Still cooked my ass pretty well. You're a good dude as well. I actually learned something today and didn't absolutely despise my teacher." Heathcliff joked. Kiba chuckled and stood up, stretching himself out.

"Thank you. I appreciate that. But I think we've become fast friends, what about you?" Kiba asked, helping Heathcliff to his feet. He threw an arm around his new friend and started back off towards the mansion.

"Yeah, I'd say so." Heathcliff said, walking along the horizon as the sun bathed them in orange light.

"Remember how you tripped over yourself on that back swing?"

"Oh yeah, let's not talk about how I fumbled over myself. I've a reputation to uphold."

"An unsteady reputation."

"You know, words hurt."

"And that, my dear Pawn and Bishop, is all the history you need to know about the world beyond the human one." Rias concluded as she lowered her pointer stick from the blackboard. Heathcliff was still reeling from the revelation that God was real, and was in a giant, supernatural, three-way war. Heathcliff sat up in his chair, noting how his tea had gone cold.

[That's badass.]

That was my first thought, too. But this is still a little crazy.

"Okay… so basically… long ass time ago there was a war between demons, heaven, and fallen angels…" Heathcliff began recapping all of the new information Rias just taught him. Rias nodded, following along with his reiteration. "And a fuckload of people died, everybody agreed to a truce, and now y'all use magical chess pieces to revive dead humans to replenish your population?" He finished. Rias nodded in agreement.

"Since it's almost impossible for Devils to repopulate through regular reproduction. The same goes for Fallen Angels and Angels alike." Rias added. Heathcliff sat for a moment to process before a very certain thought hit him.

Holy shit. That means that if I… His thought was interrupted as he noticed the very obviously lecherous grins both of the Fallen Angels next to him were sporting. While Akeno was holding him nearly hostage in her arms, Raynare and Kala were trying to butt in and steal him away by force. Somehow he managed to pay attention throughout the ordeal of nearly being ripped in half.

"Well, that's it for the tea break and the history lesson. Akeno, can you teach Heath and Asia about magic?" Rias requested. Akeno smiled and stood up, Heathcliff's head tucked under her arm as she dragged him out of the dining room and into the mansion kitchen with Asia in tow. She let Heathcliff go as she prepared herself to begin practicing magic. Heathcliff took a moment to crack his neck.

It's just one thing to the next, huh? Not even a moment to process how wacky this all this. I suppose it's because Rias wants to be ready to face what's his fuck. Heathcliff thought as Akeno placed a water bottle on the table. He sat himself down on a stool and paid heed to the lesson. Asia hopped up on his lap.

"Asia… what?" Heathcliff wondered. She merely smiled and hugged him.

"Everyone's been stuck to you all day. Can't I sit with my friend?" Asia pouted as she snuggled against his chest. Heathcliff looked to Akeno who smiled warmly.

"Everyone wants a piece of Heath." Akeno commented with a giggle. Heathcliff nodded and sighed.

"And I want some peace n' fuckin quiet." Heathcliff muttered. Asia gave him a curious stare while Akeno giggled lightly. She then cleared her throat and called their attention.

"Magic is something inherent in all supernatural beings. Harnessing it is the tricky part. What I want you two to learn, is how we harness it. So, when you want to change water into ice, you have to call on your magic power and do just that. Focus it on the water, and change it. Almost as though you envisioned it. And through the force of magic, made it happen." Akeno explained as she easily shifted the water in the bottle into small spires of ice. Asia clapped excitedly and got up to try it herself.

"So I have to envision it… and make it happen…" Asia whispered to herself. In a moment the ice in the bottle collapsed into a puddle on the table. Heathcliff watched with interest as she shifted water to ice and back again. Akeno reached over and Heathcliff felt something zap his hand.

"And with some practice, you can call upon even more powerful magic. Like lightning." Akeno said, holding up yellow sparks in her hand. Heathcliff rubbed the small burn on his hand.

"Did you really have to shock me?" He asked. Akeno giggled and tried zapping him again, but Heathcliff was faster. She pouted when he dodged her but giggled as he sighed at her. Heathcliff then focused on trying to understand magic, and how to use it.

Huh… I remember you figured out that I need to pull on that sense I have for magic… Right? Like when you change my body, but I do it myself… Uh… Heathcliff thought as Kiva laughed at him.

[Something like that. I know you can use it to activate some Morph abilities without my help. Well, I know we figured it out to an extent where you can use it on yourself. Keep fiddling with your seventh sense.] Kiva suggested. Heathcliff heeded the creature's advice and made several obsidian blades appear from his forearm.

"Well… I can use my magic to manipulate the abilities Kiva normally activates. On myself, really… Like this…" Heathcliff said, gesturing to the blades on his arm. He retracted them and Akeno thought about his words for a moment. He was hoping she knew how he could reverse it.

"I see… Well, the best thing I could think of for you, is to try and recreate that feeling, that power, but focus the energy on something else. Understand? Here, let's do this…" Akeno moved to the fridge and procured another water bottle from it. She set it down in front of Heathcliff and stood beside him. She leaned in close and put her hands around his shoulders.

"So I should try and make the water change into ice, right?" Heathcliff wondered. Akeno nodded and he shrugged. He dove deep into his senses and felt all of them. Akeno's touch on his body, her breath in his ear, the lingering taste her sweet scent left in his mouth. Her powerful presence right next to him, and the huge quantity of magic she commanded. In comparison, his magic was but a young pup. Small, but mighty. He could feel the energy. It flowed, cascaded around him and pooled within him, like the water sitting before him. So he focused and pulled on it, but instead he focused on trying to manipulate the water rather than himself. He focused. He saw it before him. Or tried to. His eyes squeezed shut as he did his best to change the water. To force it to work for him.

'Ah, but son, you can't force someone to tell you everything. You must work with them.' Words echoed in his mind as he moved his magic power. They were his father's words of wisdom. His forceful push on the water did nothing to it. So he gave it his power and let it work for him.

"Heath!" Akeno's voice broke his concentration. He opened his eyes to see a unique spectacle before him. The water had certainly turned to ice, but it was shaped into something so incredibly recognizable that Heathcliff nearly fell off his chair.

"Pop?" Heathcliff wondered as he stared at the picture-perfect sculpture of his father's face. It was surreal, and wildly confusing. Heathcliff looked it over and gave it a tap. The ice held steady.

"Cryomancy," Rias's voice spoke behind him. Heathcliff turned to see her approach and examine the sculpture. She touched it and pulled away quickly. "It's perfectly crafted. Not even losing temperature. And the magic used to make it is wickedly strong. I guess you have an affinity for ice magic, Heath." Rias commented as she continued to examine the sculpture. Heathcliff looked it over curiously. He was in awe that he made it, and with so little effort, as though he just thought it up.

"That is impressive. I wonder if you can control other types of magic." Akeno said, equally enthralled by the icy creation. Asia made her way over and examined it.

"It looks a lot like you, Heathcliff." Asia commented. Heathcliff nodded and stood next to the sculpture for comparison. It even had a thin beard on it, as his father used to sport.

"It should. I look a lot like my dad, excepting hair and eyes. My mother is Norwegian in descent, and Pop was actually Australian Aboriginal, which is why I'm a bit darker than most Australians." Heathcliff said as the girls compared him to the sculpture. Akeno stepped up to him and laid her head on his shoulder.

"The result being you. Just perfect." Akeno said quietly. Her words pulled on his heart and he embraced her. Rias smiled and tucked herself in his arms as well.

"I agree. I don't think fate could've made a better match. Say, what did he look like, aside from wildly handsome like his son?" Rias asked. Heathcliff sighed, holding his emotions in check. He reminisced and remembered his father as clear as yesterday.

"Tall, but only slightly. Not even six feet. Dark skin, peppered hair cause he looked older than he was. And simple brown eyes that were always looking for the good in everything. And always wearing a suit with ties gran knitted for him. Always, always grinning, or just simply content. Nothing could bother that man. And always spoiled the living hell out of his son." Heathcliff said quietly. He smiled as Asia crammed herself between Akeno and Rias, doing her best not to be suffocated by their bust.

"He sounds wonderful." Rias whispered. Akeno quietly rested her head on his chest. Heathcliff smiled and held them close. His eyes were on the verge of breaking.

"Ever wanted somebody who would just pull you out of school just to go get some ice cream, or watch a movie? He was that guy. Even bought me my first guitar when I was supposed to be in school. Brought me out to the shop on my birthday and said, 'Pick one, bud' and that was that." Heathcliff's words grew quieter as he attempted to keep his composure. Luckily, his stomach had a mind of its own and growled loudly. The three girls on him each cracked up in giggle fits and he sighed.

"It looks like we're done training for today. Time to cook dinner!" Rias announced. The small party broke up and Akeno went off to retrieve everyone else, but not before kissing Heathcliff on the cheek. He smiled as she walked off, and Asia started picking things out of the fridge.

"Guess I better fix this…" Heathcliff said, turning to the sculpture. He raised his hand and felt the magic power build on the end of his palm. It was cool and glowed a light blue. Rias caught his wrist, though.

"Heath, would it be okay if we kept it? Like, maybe in your house? I'm sure your mother would like it…" Rias suggested. Heathcliff sighed as he knew full well that Rias was not just asking him. She was telling him something.

"Yeah, that's cool. But not in the center of a room, or in a specially designed room. Just off to the side, where he always was. Never taking, just giving." Heathcliff said. Rias smiled and went to work moving the ice sculpture. Heathcliff did enjoy the idea of keeping it. It just pained him every time he glanced at it. He was almost relieved when it was out of his sight. He was then pulled from his thoughts to help prepare dinner for everybody.

"Heathcliff, know how to handle a knife?" Akeno asked as she approached him with a potato and a kitchen knife. He nodded and took the knife, potato too, and approached the counter. And off he set to his task of peeling and cutting up potatoes. He checked the knife's edge and found it wanting in sharpness, so he dropped the knife and out slide an obsidian blade from his wrist. The potato skin rolled off like butter on a running engine block. Asia poked her head over his arms and eyed the blade attached to his wrist. Heathcliff glanced at her and chuckled as he expertly sliced the potato on the cutting board up.

"Heath, what are you doing?" Rias asked as she walked by.

"Cutting potatoes."

"With?"

"A sharper knife."

"Ugh… sometimes I'm not sure if you're all there or not sometimes."

"Well, that was uncalled for."

Heathcliff pulled his drowsy, self-loathing self from his bed and slipped his shoes on to walk off his restlessness. Not a soul was in sight, but in his other sense, he could pick out a familiar presence sitting in the outdoor rotunda. He slid on a tank top and made his way out there. His mind would not settle down with memories of his past revisiting him like specters finding their graves. Just as it had done time and time again. Phantoms of pain, hidden even in the most wholesome of memories. Even in the tenderest of moments. Heathcliff unwittingly snuck outside and found himself walking up the pillar of the rotunda as he exited the mansion. He shrugged and settled for being stuck to the rim of the dome as he hung over the other who sat outside.

"Rias?" Heathcliff called quietly. She glanced up from her book and took her reading glasses off. Heathcliff was relieved that he did not accidentally scare her.

"Oh, Heath. I didn't notice you… obviously… but I'm usually expecting you to just appear sometimes. Can you not sleep?" Rias asked. Heathcliff nodded solemnly in the moonlight. His shadow was as gruesome and terrifying as his powers were. Almost as though the beast within showed itself in his darkest part. Or maybe, it was his wraiths surrounding him.

"Can't you?" Heathcliff responded. Rias shook her head and stood from her spot on the ledge. Her nightgown was thin and hid very little in the moonlight. But Heathcliff almost did not bother noticing. She waved him down and Heathcliff walked down the pillar, sitting on the ledge she had just occupied.

"Well, already know what's bothering me. Same thing as last time. So, what ails you, my King?" Heathcliff asked tiredly. Rias smiled at his pseudo-formality and leaned against the pillar next to him.

"What bothers me… is if we'll ever be ready to face them. If we can win. And what happens if we can't…" Rias sighed. Heathcliff simply listened. He refused to get ahead of himself and say something stupid. Rias seemed to be waiting for that, though.

"I'm listening," Heathcliff mumbled. She smiled and pulled his head against her stomach. Heathcliff quietly accepted her embrace and listened to both her and her heartbeat.

"You're such a sweetie… But, I'm just worried. I don't want him having control over me, my peerage, or even my familial lineage. That Phenex idiot doesn't know his hand from his foot and yet he's next in line for head of the Phenex family. And yet… he's apparently a better match for me than the man I want. The one I choose." Rias explained as she rubbed Heathcliff's head. He murmured in agreement and yawned. Her warmth and ministrations were slowly putting him to sleep. He almost forgot he had to respond.

"So… you not only reject the good old classy practice of forced marriage cause he's a douchebag, you also want something else. A strong peerage of your own creation and leadership. Am I right?" Heathcliff wondered. Rias nodded and her grip on his head tightened. A small tear escaped her eye. Heathcliff caught it and felt a small piece of himself grow furious.

"Yes… exactly. Why should my freedom be constrained to another Devil? I'm not going to let that happen." Rias said confidently. She was surprised when Heathcliff pulled away from her and stood up. He towered over her and he knew that the look in his eye was nothing short of terrifying.

"Neither am I. Your fate shouldn't be in some lying, punk ass, piece of shit's hands. Therefore, when I get my hands on that feathery, cheap cologne wearing coward… I'm going to fucking strangle him until he either cries, or dies." Heathcliff said menacingly. But Rias was not on the receiving end of his wrath. Instead, she smiled and hugged him.

"Thank you, Heath. But… it's not that easy. Riser… he's not just a regular Devil you can dispatch. Strangling him won't work. His flames… they regenerate him. As his family name goes, they're like phoenixes. They come back once destroyed." Rias explained. Heathcliff sighed. He failed to realize he was in a crazy fantasy world now. Riser would not go down like a regular punk on the street.

"Oh, and let me guess, he's on a fuckin winning streak with these Rating Games!?" Heathcliff said, exasperated. Rias nodded, confirming his suspicions. He groaned and planted his head against the pillar. An immortal opponent was not something Heathcliff had expected to deal with in his lifetime, yet, he now stood in that sub-optimal position. Rias rubbed his back and tried to hold him again.

"Heath, not all is lost. I have a plan. Do you trust me?" Rias asked, looking up into his eyes. Heathcliff rolled that very question around in his mind. Did he? He had no reason not to, but he was still unsure of one thing.

"Rias,"

"Yes?"

"I do. But not completely, not until you tell me one thing."

"What, what is it?"

"How do you feel about me? Truly. Tell me."

Silence. It permeated even into the night when the crickets ceased their chirps, and the owls steadied their calls to a thin quiet hum. Heathcliff swore he could hear the lightning of Rias's nerves running wild in her mind as her face turned red and she avoided his puncturing gaze. She stayed quiet as Heathcliff waited for an answer. It dug and clawed at him, from the first moment he laid eyes on her. And each time she bothered him while he was with Akeno. Each and every time.

"I… find you to be a very fine Pawn. A good person. And… undeniably good looking. And also one of the sweetest guys I've met. And all of that together… makes me like you. A lot. I'm attracted to you, and… even want to kiss you right now." Rias admitted. Her embarrassment was palpable. Heathcliff pulled her into a hug and sighed.

"Goddammit…" Heathcliff muttered. He did his best to process her words without losing his mind. First Akeno wanted him just as much as he wanted her. Then Raynare and Kalawarner wanted to service him, as they had put it. Rias quietly cried into his shirt.

"I'm sorry Heath… I can't help it…" Rias muttered as she held back tears. Heathcliff started down at her, admiring her glorious red hair and cyan eyes. She was attractive, so much so that had Akeno not caught his eye first, Heathcliff very well may have gone out with Rias instead. She was strong, admirable, self-composed, and a bombshell to boot. There she was, in his arms, and he was the new source of her tears. He let his compulsive instincts take over just as he did the night before. He slid his hand under her chin and lifted her face. He leaned down and did what he wanted. He kissed her. Just as like when he kissed Akeno, but different. Not just to satisfy her, nor make his situation any less complicated. He did it because it felt right.

Maybe I'm fuckin insane… but this feels so right. Even though I like Akeno so much… I can't help feeling guilty leaving Rias to fend for herself. I don't know why… but I can't just not accept her. I can't. I can't. I can't. Heathcliff soon broke away, leaving Rias breathless and in shock. She slowly calmed down and held a hand over her lips. She looked everywhere but at him. But the sudden consequence of his action broke into his mind.

"Fuck… I shouldn't have done that… It's just going to hurt you more… FUCK!" Heathcliff slammed his fist into the pillar, cracking it under his beastly strength. But Rias's gentle hand on his chest relieved him of any anger dwelling within. She smiled, and his worries melted away. His heart skipped a beat. Just the same as when Akeno smiled at him so lovingly. He failed to realize it, and now could not deny it. He wanted her.

"No… Heath… it's alright. I'm just surprised… you were so headstrong about being loyal…" Rias trailed off as he embraced her and shuddered with uncertainty. His mind was aflame as it had been many times before. A warzone of chaos and uncertainty. Would kissing Rias bring more joy, or more casualty? He knew not the answer. Only that he nary had the strength or resolve to stop himself.

"I thought so too… till Akeno said I could do whatever I want. Then I didn't know… I thought everything was right. But then… when I realized you liked me… and Raynare and Kala wanted me… I couldn't think straight. Everything became a haze. Nothing is certain. Like a fog of war. But all I can do now is hope that I treat each of you right… since I can scarcely deny any of you. And I pray… pray that you don't hate me for it." Heathcliff said, his emotional turmoil nearly broke a blood vessel. Rias held him tight and did her best to calm him down. And it worked. She rubbed his back and shushed him. Her sweet rosemary scent and soft embrace did much to alleviate his stress.

"It's alright, Heath… I know you'll be fine. As long as I can hold you… kiss you… I might be content… But don't expect me to give up easily." Rias said with a giggle. Heathcliff chuckled, remembering Akeno said something similar. He sighed and took her wrist, starting to lead her back into the mansion. She went to protest but Heathcliff simply kept walking. Soon he made it back to his room and led her inside.

"And lemme just lock that… There, no disturbances." Heathcliff mumbled as he kicked his shoes off and shut the door. Rias blushed beet red as he tossed his shirt off as well.

"H-H-Heath! I think it's a little soon, don't you!?" Rias stuttered in embarrassment. Heathcliff shook his head at his stupidity. She calmed down as he simply walked by and sat down on the bed.

"Ah, sorry, I'm not… I wasn't planning on that. I just couldn't sleep earlier… and neither could you… and I just figured we could… y'know… like before…" Heathcliff trailed off. Rias smiled as she now understood his true meaning and sat down with him. She pushed him under the covers and climbed in beside him, tucking his head right under her chin and pressing her breasts against his face. Heathcliff blushed and slowly put his arms around her.

"I should've known. You're not like that. Is that comfortable? Are my boobs comfy?" Rias teased as Heathcliff slowly buried his face in her chest. He mumbled a sleepy response and felt the world slowly slip away. Rias kissed the top of his head and patted him as he slowly fell asleep.

Whatever… this is nice. I don't give a shit what anyone says…
