Ratchet wrapped his arms around Kori and kissed her shoulder, her back resting against his chest. "You're amazing."

"So are you." Kori smiled, gently rubbing his arms. She turned around in his arms and kissed his lips. "Darling husband of mine, I've been thinking."

Ratchet laughed. "Claire should sleepover at Grandpa's more often."

"We'd miss her eventually." Kori smiled. "But focus," she gently stroked his cheek. "What if we gave Claire a little brother or sister?"

Ratchet pulled Kori closer, kissing her shoulder again. "We could get a head start on that, right now."

"Focus." Kori giggled, pulling him back to her lips. "Do you think we should have another baby?" She massaged her husband's shoulders. "You are a key part of that."

Ratchet moaned and gently kissed Kori. "Claire shouldn't be an only child." He laughed. "Plus my wife is too beautiful to not have another baby with her."

"You're just saying that." Kori gently ran her fingers up his neck.

Ratchet pulled Kori to lay on top of him. "My wife is the most beautiful and outstanding creature in the known existence. And if we bring another baby into this world then I will be the happiest husband ever."

"Then let's not waste time," Kori smirked.

Ratchet kissed Kori for a long moment. "Talk later, we have a baby to make." He winked.

Kaden sat his granddaughter down in her little high chair. "There we go, good girl." He smiled at her little cheeky grin. "You're going to be a little troublemaker aren't you?"

"Papa," Claire giggled.

Kaden nodded. "I'll take that as an admission of guilt." He gave the little girl her breakfast, setting down with his own.

"Mama!" Claire squealed.

Kori laughed and kissed Claire's head. "Hi, sweetheart." She sat down next to Claire and smiled at Kaden. "Thank you so much for watching her lately."

"She's my granddaughter," Kaden laughed. "As if I wouldn't enjoy any second I get with her." He took a drink. "But I'd love to know what has been keeping you and my son so busy lately."

Kori smirked. "Hopefully you'll find out soon." Her face suddenly turned unpleasant. "What is that smell?" She smelled Claire, the kitchen, various objects.

"I don't smell anything." Kaden laughed.

Kori kept searching. "I know I am smelling something." She searched until she gagged. "Wow." Kori pulled out a sock Ratchet had forgotten to put in the dirty laundry.

"How?" Kaden smiled.

Kori shrugged. "Your son and his stinky feet." She disposed of the sock and rejoined her father-in-law and daughter at the table.

"Good morning." Ratchet snuck up behind Kori and kissed her cheek. He wrapped his arms around her shoulders. "How is Mommy feeling?"

Kori laughed. "Mommy is feeling fine, thank you."

"Beautiful Mommy." Ratchet kissed her cheek again. He turned to his daughter. "Pretty Claire," he smiled. "Can you say 'Good Morning' for Dada?"

Claire smiled. "Dada!"

"Our smart girl." Ratchet laughed and booped Claire's nose. "Getting so big and smart."

Claire giggled and beamed Ratchet right in between the eyes with a glob of food. "Dada!" She squealed with laughter.

"You booger." Ratchet laughed, cleaning off his face. He kissed Claire's cheek and blew a raspberry, making the little girl giggle again. "Just you wait until breakfast is over. You're going to get it then little booger."

Kori smiled, her eyes getting a little tearful. Watching Ratchet and Claire just interact warmed her heart and the thought of having another baby with Ratchet. A little brother or sister for Claire to play with, a new grandchild for Kaden, and another testament to her and Ratchet's love and dedication to each other. Kori couldn't help but long deeply for their next baby. Boy or girl, she didn't care, as long as the baby was healthy and strong (and her beloved husband's), Kori wanted nothing more than that.

"Kori, are you okay?" Ratchet's face turned to concern at his wife. "You're crying."

Kori felt her face and found she was crying. "Oh," she smiled. "I'm fine, I don't know what came over me." She laughed and gently rubbed away her tears.

Later Ratchet and Clank were playing with Claire and Kori and Kaden were doing some general chores. "Kori, are you pregnant?" Kaden randomly asked.

"No," Kori smiled. "It's a work in progress though."

Kaden smirked back at her. "Actually trying to have a baby this time?"

"We talked about it," Kori hummed. "And that's why we've been so busy lately."

Kaden gently bumped her shoulder with his. "Well, good luck. You two need another ankle-biter around."

"You need another grandkid." Kori bumped back. "We need to keep you busy."

Kaden laughed. "No problem, but don't overrun me. I'm not as young as I once was."

"You can handle a few babies," Kori smirked.

One day Kori came out for breakfast rubbing her stomach. Ratchet frowned lightly. "You okay, hun?"

"Fine," Kori smiled. "Just a little sour stomach."

Ratchet almost jumped up. "Have you tested yet?"

"I don't think this is it," Kori shook her head. "Dinner did disagree with you last night, it might just be disagreeing with me now."

Ratchet sighed. "Good point. I'll get you some breakfast, Mommy." He pulled out Kori's chair for her and went to the kitchen. "Get comfy."

"Thank you, Ratchet." Kori smiled. The test was already underway. It wasn't a fast test but the best one they had. Kori noticed a few other signs that Ratchet wouldn't have noticed, like her monthly companion not showing up for their appointment.

Companion was too strong of a word but nemesis carries the wrong connotation. Kori wouldn't miss their visits especially since that usually meant something more was coming and Kori hoped with all her heart that they had been successful.

Kori really wanted to be pregnant.

Besides, when she had morning sickness with Claire she could barely stray from the toilet for very long. The morning sickness was strong with that one but this? Kori barely felt anything but a slight nagging feeling in her stomach that barely suggested she was going to get sick.

She checked on her little test after Ratchet had left the house, it was growing fine but that might have been just because it was receiving liquid that it could make into food. But whatever.

Then Kori noticed her clothes getting a little tighter in certain areas that made her quite excited. She even started to notice her stomach started to round out a bit. She begged that it wasn't her imagination.

Kori snuck away one day with Claire to go to the old abandoned hospital. She carried Claire on her front with a weapon in hand so she could protect her daughter from scroungers.

Kori found some medical equipment that wasn't broken and she put a heartbeat detector on her stomach. Kori just had to know.

The sweet whooshing sound of a fetal heartbeat made Kori well up with tears. "Claire, sweetheart." Kori laughed. "You're going to be a big sister."

"Play?" Claire smiled. "Play Mama?"

Kori laughed. "We'll play when we get home, baby." She packed up her daughter and put her test on the table for Ratchet to find. It was growing quite well and Kori knew why.

"A plant." Ratchet said when he got home, oblivious. "A plant on our table."

Kori smiled. "Yup. I grew a plant."

"Good job." Ratchet laughed. "It looks healthy." He picked up the plant and looked it over.

Kori shook her head, putting a hand on her stomach. "Honey, what happened the last time I was able to grow a plant?"

Ratchet's face blanked and the poor potted plant slipped from his hands to shatter on the ground. He jumped up and gently kissed his wife. "We're pregnant." Ratchet laughed. "We're having another baby."

"And you broke my pregnancy test." Kori snickered. "Good job."

Ratchet kicked the pieces away a little. "We don't have to tell the baby about that." He knelt down and kissed her stomach. "It will be just fine not knowing Daddy broke its plant." Ratchet rubbed his nose against Kori's stomach.

"Dada," Claire teetered to Ratchet and Kori. "Mama."

Ratchet picked up their 20-month-old and cuddled her. "Such a big girl, Claire." He bounced her and kissed her cheeks. "You're going to be a great big sister, sweetheart."

Their baby boy arrived on schedule and in a timely manner like he had a schedule to keep.

"It's a boy," Ratchet laughed, putting the tiny baby on Kori's chest. "We have a little boy, Kori."

Kori rubbed their baby to dry him off and make him cry. The baby started wailing at the top of his lungs, his parents smiled and switched to soothing him. Ratchet checked the baby over for all his fingers, toes, and adorable little tail before taking him to finish cleaning him and wrapping the baby up in the baby blanket his mother had made him.

"Thank you," Kori received her baby back. She kissed Ratchet before leaning back and snuggling with the baby.

Ratchet smiled and rubbed her arm. "I'll go tell Dad and Big Sister the good news. I'll be right back." He kissed Kori again. "You did amazing, Mommy."

"So did you, Daddy," Kori laughed, looking at the newborn. "Didn't Daddy do a good job, Franklin?" She kissed the baby's head.

Ratchet kissed Franklin's little hand. "It's good to finally have you, little guy." He smiled. "I'll be right back buddy. Take care of your mommy for me." Ratchet kissed Kori again before leaving the room.

"Franklin," Kori whispered to the baby as he slept in her arms. "You're so precious to us, Franklin." She kissed his head, tears running down her face. "If I could, I would give you and your big sister Claire the universe."

"Mommy and Daddy love you, Franky." Kori laughed, looking up as Ratchet came back.

Ratchet cuddled up to Kori and wrapped his arms around Kori and their son. "We love you so much, Franklin. You are one of the best things that's ever happened to us."

"You," Kori sniffled, "were born from love, Franklin. Your father, sister, grandfather, and I love you more than anything. Our precious baby boy."

Kaden peeked his head into the room. "Visitors allowed yet?"

Ratchet turned to Kori, who nodded. "Mommy approves, come on in." No sooner he said that a small Claire ran into the room.

"Little monster," Kaden chased after her and picked her up. "Slow, Claire, slow. Mama and Franky are sleepy. They've had a long day."

Ratchet took his daughter. "Come meet your baby brother." He sat the little girl down next to Kori and Franklin, smiling. "What do you think, Claire? Isn't he cute?"

"Claire," Kori sighed, smiling. "Do you want to give Franklin a kiss?"

Little Claire giggled before leaning over and giving Franklin a kiss on the head. "Hi, Baby." She grinned.

"Good girl," Ratchet rubbed Claire's back. "So smart, like Mommy."

"So Dad," Rosie said one morning, years later. "Why do we have a row of plants in the window?"

Ian snickered. "Should we tell her?"

"Tell me what?" Rosie pouted.

Franklin blinked. "No one has told you about those?"

"No," Rosie pouted harder. "Is there something special about them?"

Ratchet laughed. "Well," he smiled at the plants fondly, the years showing on his face. "None of those plants would be here without all of you and your mother." He took a deep breath. "Those plants told your mother that she was pregnant with each one of you." He went down the line. "Claire, Ian, Liza, and Rosie."

"What about Franklin's?" Rosie frowned at her brother.

Ratchet cleared his throat. "Franklin's had an unfortunate accident."

"Dad dropped it." Franklin laughed. "Mom told me it slipped right out of his hands when he found out about me."

Ratchet smiled. "Your mother kept telling me that she wasn't pregnant yet but then when she told me my surprise led to your poor plant's death." He nodded. "Your mom wasn't too mad at me but I was in the dog house for a little bit."

"Yeah," Claire snickered. "Until Liza was born."

Ratchet laughed. "No, otherwise neither Ian nor Liza would have been born." He smirked at Franklin. "It was until Franklin was born and your mom got to hold him. Then she was too happy and exhausted to care about anything for a while."

"You just had to have three more kids," Franklin shrugged. "Just had to ruin it."

Ratchet shook his head. "No, it got better."
