Hello all of my loyal readers and Happy New Year! I have returned with another chapter of RWBY 40K: Space Marine which I hope you'll find satisfactory. But first, review time.
Lord Damon DarkFyre: sweats in terror CHAPTER IS COMPLETE, SIR!
Roktoof: Forget what I told you in PM, the two of them possess a mutual but strained partnership where he holds the reins. And no, Pyrrha will not die, I assure you.
EnriksD8: Unfortunately there will be no star murdering. As for Psybolts, I see what you mean but from what I've found they're exclusive to the Grey Knights, correct me if I'm wrong. As for my OCs, I see your point. But this chapter and next will flesh out at least two of them.
Tsseppanen: Forgive me for this tech-heresy.
As always, reviews are always appreciated. But PMs work as well.
I own nothing except OCs and the IG regiment that debuts this chapter.
Night had fallen across the city of Vale. The shattered moon of Remnant hung in the sky as Valean citizens turned in for the night, completely unaware of the thousands of Imperial Guardsmen that moved through the streets and alleys of the city. In an attempt to decrease the risk of potential detection, the regiment split up into five separate columns, each taking a different route to their destination. At the head of the main column, which made its way through the commercial district, three individuals conversed as the men of the column rendered three civilians unconscious.
The first, a young man clad in the armor of his regiment, the form-fitting cuirass covering his torso and loins along with the standard greaves and Corinthian-pattern helmet on his head. The only thing signifying his rank of captain was his helmet's red plume. "That's the fifth group of civilians we've encountered now."
The second man was far older than the captain, but wore the same regimental armor , the black plume on his head signifying the rank of general. "Unfortunately captain, if we are to have any chance of hiding our presence from the enemy, this is our only option. If we took the Valkyries the entire city would know of our presence by now."
The general then turned towards the third member of the conversation, the young man's gray tench coat, boots, and wolf-like features making him stand out. "How much further Fenris?"
The young Faunus in question examined the numerous shops that surrounded them before turning his gaze to the sea docks at the end of the street. "We're close, we just arrived at the civilian transport docks. The Dust Depot should be just to the west of us."
"Very well then."
The general then turned towards the guardsmen behind him, but before he could relay his next set of orders, a guardswoman came up to him, concern laced in her voice. "General, sir! We lost contact with the fifth column. Their last known location was one click west of our position."
Troubled by this sudden news, the general nevertheless maintained his cool as he responded. "While I cannot say for certain, they most likely have engaged the enemy."
As if to confirm his theory, the night air suddenly rang out with the thundering boom of heavy caliber fire and the snap-hiss of lasguns. The influx of noise caused the windows of multiple buildings to light up, signaling that the civilians were waking up much to the general's annoyance. "Hmph, so much for secrecy."
The general then turned towards his men once more. "All units, double time it! We've already been discovered so speed is of the essence!"
A resounding "YES SIR!" met his orders as the guardsmen drew their own lasguns and broke into a dead sprint. But before long, he stopped the captain he spoke to earlier. "Captain Demios, take some of your men and the civilians. Can't have them getting caught in the crossfire. And notify the other columns of this development."
Acknowledging his orders, Demios and three dozen men and women broke off from the main force and towards the growing throngs of confused and panicked civilians. But as two guardsmen attempted to assure the group of people, their bodies suddenly burst apart in a shower of gore. This ruined any chance of maintaining order as the crowds broke out in mass panic.
For in that moment, a massive humanoid mech burst through a nearby wall, the mech stood at a height of 4.24 m and had a white paint job with symmetrical red patches. Emblazoned on its chest armor was the unmistakable snarling wolf's head and claw of the White Fang.
That damned symbol filled Daniel with rage as lightning began to course around him, hiss eyes turned pure white as he let out a snarl of rage and charged. The mech noticed him and quickly brought out its massive rifle and fired at him, the heavy caliber ordinance zipped through the air as the Faunus powered through what few shots managed to hit him, the rest tearing through dozens of guardsmen before they responded in kind. Red lasbolts peppered the Fang mech as Daniel closed the distance and launched himself at it, only for dual blade harpoons to shoot out towards him.
Upon impact, the blade slashed through his aura, but he was too pissed to care, enabling him to press his attack and shove his claws directly into its eye socket. At that moment, as the mech moved its left arm in an attempt to grab him and throw him off, the general made his own leap and drew out his power xiphos, plunging it into the mech's elbow joint. During those moments, the lightning coursing Daniel's body began to surge through the mech, frying its systems and forcing it to fire blindly. The barrage of inaccurate bullets only caused minimal casualties, most of them cause by the resulting debris, until a rectangular capsule ejected from the mech's head. Assuming that it was the pilot, the guardsmen brought their lasguns to bear, taking out the pod's engines with precision shots. Then as the pod crashed to the ground, Daniel ripped it open to find a wound deer Faunus, that glared at her captors as the guardsmen dragged her out. The General then gave the two carrying her some orders. "See what you can do with her for now, we're moving out immediately. But keep her alive, we need information."
Acknowledging his orders, the two in question left to fulfill them while the rest of the column readjusted their weapons and resumed their hard march. But before long, the front lines suddenly found themselves gunned down by various heavy cal. Rounds and bolt shells. The aggressors, standing at the end of the abandoned street they were now in, were three more White Fang Mechs supported by a squad of Rubric Marines led by a lone Thousand Son Sorcerer. The sorcerer, after chanting in an unknown language, summoned three portals from which hundreds of Tzaangors poured out, the avian-like mutants charging at the Imperials, prompting the General to call out, " Form Shield Wall! Gunners, take your positions and fire at will!"
Within moments, the Hellas Guard enacted their most famous tactic, forming a wall of razor spears and shields two high. And those that carried lasguns took up positions between the higher rank of their shield bearing comrades and let loose with a barrage of lasbolts. The red beams of energy blew off limbs, punched holes and melted faces as the mutant horde received the attack en mass, yet still they pressed on, uncaring of their comrades' fates.
As the mutants drew closer and closer, the general, who took position within the shield wall, called out to his men, "Warriors of Hellas! Give them nothing! But take from them, EVERYTHING!"
At that moment, as even more mutants fell to the lasguns, the horde crashed into the shield wall with a resounding class of metal. Mutants skewered themselves on the guardsmen's spears as others desperately tried to climb over the wall, only to perish by either another spear, lasgun, or xiphos. Amidst the chaos of battle, Daniel took notice of the White Fang and their allies leaving the battle. As his semblance took effect, he decided that they wouldn't get the chance. "You're not getting away that easily."

The cacophony of battle rang throughout the city of Vale, buildings now lay in ruins as Titus opened fire with his bolter. The rocket-propelled, .75 cal explosive round tore power fist-sized holes into the armor of the Glasgow Knightmare frame that opposed the party. In a desperate bid to drive the Astartes off, the Glasgow aimed its rifle at him and opened fire, forcing Titus to take cover behind a nearby rubble pile as Ruby then landed a slash at its damaged kneecap. The blade of Crescent Rose sliced through the machinery like a hot knife through butter, as the Schnee twins unleashed their own fire dust attacks. This, along with the hundreds of lasbolts that fried its circuitry, overwhelmed the White Fang machine, forcing the pilot to eject. His escape attempt was quickly thwarted by Nora who launched herself off Jaune's raised shield and towards the pod, shattering it with a swing of her hammer.
After being sent plummeting to the ground, the snake Faunus pilot found himself hoisted into the air by Gabriel Schnee, a murderous look on his face as he began interrogating him. "HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET YOUR HANDS ON THOSE GLASGOWS?!"
The Faunus merely glared right back as he gave a retort. "Wouldn't you like to know Schnee."
With that, he spat in the Schnee twin's face, prompting him to throw the Faunus to the ground once more in a fit of rage before preparing to let loose with another fire dust attack, only to be stopped by Ruby. "Stop, we're better than this!"
Gabriel went to retort, but was silenced by a thunderous cry. "Enough!"
With that, Titus went to where the White Fang pilot lay before grabbing him and throwing him to a pair of guardsmen. "Throw him with the others."
As the newest addition to the batch of prisoners was taken away, Blake had reunited with the others, followed by a monkey Faunus who introduced himself as Sun Wukong. Seeing the White Fang member get taken away, she turned towards Titus with concern, adjusting her white blouse as she asked about the Faunus. "What's going to happen to him?"
"Interrogation. They can provide information regarding the full extent of this attack. And before you ask Ms. Belladonna, it is up to them whether or not 'extreme' methods are used."
Blake felt unsettled by the emphasis on 'extreme' and went to voice her concerns, but was interrupted by Sun. "Uh, I hate to interrupt, but we got incoming!"
True to his word, three Bullheads could be seen across the waters heading towards them, each bearing the heraldry of the White Fang. No hesitation was shown as the imperials opened fire, targeting the engines in an attempt to bring them down. But instead of damaging the transports, the volley of shots simply vanished, leaving many to wonder what just happened.
Their questions were answered when, out of nowhere, the dreaded Sorcerer appeared of the Thousand Sons, Ahzek Ahriman. Before the Imperials could react, he unleashed a wall of warpfire to his left, where a dozen Guardsmen were caught by its flames. The screams of agony as they were burned alive filled the Huntsman-in-training with terror, their resulting hesitation left them wide open for the next attack, a blast of pure psychic energy that sent them flying twenty feet into the air. In the next few seconds, Ocatvius charged into the fray, Hellenic reinforcements charging behind him as he swung his Omnissian axe in a downward arc.
Only for Ahriman to catch it. And then his staff lashed out at Octavius, sending the Techmarine flying into a group of a dozen guardsmen, the weight of his armor crushing them. He then launched himself towards Titus and pinned him against a nearby building. All withing the span of those few seconds as the Bullheads arrived and deposited their cargo of a dozen Glasgow Knightmare Frames, which immediately opened fire, killing guardsmen by the hundreds as they continued to pour in.
Meanwhile, Titus managed to break free from the sorcerer's grip, but was thrown into a pile of rubble for his efforts. As he brought himself out of the rubble, Ahriman called out to the Fang Knightmare Frames. "Three of you break off and focus on loading the dust into the transports. The rest of you, keep the Imperials and those students off of them."
Satisfied that his orders were understood, and then carried out, the sorcerer turned his attention towards the Ultramarine. Immobilizing him with a wave of his hand, he spoke. "As for you, son of Guilliman, I'm curious. You're immune to the touch of the warp, something that should be impossible for a Loyalist."
Ahzek then grew curious as a possibility formed in his head. "Unless..."
He then brought Titus closer, intent on closely examining him, but when he saw his eyes, disbelief was in his as he spoke. "That's not possible. The Second Legion was wiped out. You can't possibly have silver-"
His disbelieving rant was cut short as a sniper round hit his shoulder plate, drawing his attention towards the young Reaper of Beacon with Crescent Rose in sniper form. This drew a gasp of surprise from Ahriman as he said something that caught her completely off guard. "Is that you, Summer?"
Freed from his grasp once more, Titus took advantage of his shock and drew his bolt pistol, unloading the entire clip into Ahriman. Though hurt by this attack, Ahriman quickly retaliated with a blast of psychic lightning.
It was at that moment that a nearby street erupted with a torrent of lightning as a ruined Glasgow crashed into view. A still-beserk Daniel Fenris launched himself towards the dozen Glasgows still standing, digging his claws into one while channeling lightning into two others. This got the rest of the students to charge at the sorcerer, despite Titus' protests. "NO! Stay back!"
But it was too late.
Ahzek caught the blade of Crescent Rose and locked it with Saul's halberd before pull the trigger and sending them flying. He then caught Gamble Shroud and used the weapon to swing Blake into Yang. Sun and Ren then launched their own attacks, which proved to be ineffective as he dispatched them with a backhanded strike. He effortlessly halted the Schnee twins dust attacks before sending the attacks right back at them. He then used his staff to black the swords of Pyrrha and Alex before knocking them back with a swing of his staff. Then, in the middle of the chaos, Nora, taking advantage of the electricity surging around her comrade, charged up her Semblance and launched herself at him, swinging her hammer in a downwards arc.
And though Ahzek managed to block the attack with his forearm, the impact caused the ground underneath him to shatter, and gave Jaune and opening to attack. Unfortunately though, his efforts produced an insignificant wound as evident in the unimpressed tone in the sorcerer's voice. "All of that, for a drop of blood?"
He went to attack, but Ruby, terrified beyond imagination, unknowingly triggered her silver eyes, enveloping the entire area in a blinding light for a brief moment. Things remained unchanged aside from Ahriman who screamed in agony for a few moments. Upon recovery, he noticed that half of the Knightmares he brought along had fallen, and more were joining them. So realizing that the odds were against him, he contacted the pilots once more. "Get to the transports and get out of here! I'll cover your escape!"
With that, he raised his staff into the air and gathered an untold amount of energy before unleashing it in a devastating blast.

Silence fell across the city as the dawn finally broke, pierced only by the blaring sirens of Valean law enforcement and ambulances, and the agonizing cries of the wounded. And at the edge of the wreckage sat the worn out teams of RWBY, JNPR, and ASSD, silent from the ordeal that they just faced ans truggling to wrap their heads around this situation. The silence was finally broken by Sun. "Man, this sure gives a whole new meaning to the phrase, 'there's always a bigger fish.' Despite our training, the big guy kicked out collective asses in ten seconds flat."
Jaune quickly responded to that statement despite the somber mood. "Something tells met that he wasn't putting much effort in."
"You'd be correct, Mr. Arc."
The Huntsman-in-training drew their attention towards Titus, the Astartes was flanked by their wolf Faunus comrade walking with a noticeable limp and clutching his left side. Seeing him in this state caused Blake to burst into tears and catch him in a hug, burying her face in his shoulder as she cried. Initially taken aback by her sudden action, he nevertheless returned the gesture with a sigh of contentment, tailing wagging as he did so. This display succeeded in easing the collective tension within the group, but there was an immediate question that needed answering, Alex being the one to ask. "Just what the hell are we up against, then?"
"Ahzek Ahriman is one of the most powerful Psykers in this Galaxy. That, combined with as Astartes physiology, makes him a truly terrifying opponent. And he has had ten thousand years to perfect his abilities. The fact you're still alive proves he was holding back considerably."
This face filled them with dread. Just how out of their league were they?
But Ruby quickly regained her composure and responded with certainty. "Then we'll just have to improve ourselves. I know that it'll be difficult, and there's a chance that it'll be meaningless, but we have to try."
As expected, Ruby's optimism proved catchy as the others eventually agreed with her. Titus let himself smile with pride before speaking. "Your willingness to do so is appreciated. But nonetheless, if you encounter Ahriman again, do not engage. You are to flee on sight. Am I understood?"
A chorus of "Yes sir!"s met his question.
Just then, Gabriel stood up with his Scroll in hand. "I've got to make a few calls."
Weiss grew curious. "What do you mean by that?"
"If this was just the beginning, we're going to need reinforcements."
Yes Code Geass fans, I have added the Knightmare Frames. And yes, any info you can provide will be appreciated
