Don't Think Twice
Author's Note: The finale is finally here! I guess I'm in the mood to write this since The Legend of Korra was recently put on Netflix. Buckle up, y'all! This one is gonna be a doozy!

Chapter 14: The Siege of Republic City Part 1
BGM: Spider-Man 2 OST – Angry Arms
Somewhere near Republic City, a certain man with a phantom ruby on his chest was looking at the madness going on, the night sky and the full moon shining upon him. This would be no one other than Infinite, the old jackal who used to be the captain of his Jackal Squad.
He could feel Republic City rumbling, almost like the city itself was trembling in fear due to Amon and Eggman teaming up. He was feeling all of this, and while part of him was paying attention to it, there were multiple things going through his mind.
His whole life has been nothing short of tragedy.
All his life, he had to fight to survive. The only people he had were his teammates, his family, the Jackal Squad. Unfortunately, his entire team was wiped out, the entire thing relating to him working for Eggman, with Shadow not being completely innocent in the matter either.
They're all dead.
All of them.
He tried to avenge them all by working for Eggman, accepting the responsibility of having the Phantom Ruby and would wreak havoc on Sonic's world. Contrary to what people want to believe, Infinite himself is not really a bad guy.
He's just made some bad choices, and everybody does that more than a few times in their lives.
Though, in Infinite's case, those same choices affected the rest of his life in the worst possible way.
Now in his case, the dude was barely sane. Infinite tried to escape from Eggman, proclaiming he never wanted to work for him again. This resulted in him being a guinea pig, the experiment making Infinite much more powerful than he once was. To be clear, the dude was already juiced up with power, but the experiment took him to a whole new level.
But with the increase in power, he lost most of the sanity he had left.
Eggman wasn't suspecting this, and it was the main reason why Infinite was finally able to escape.
Still, he's without most of his sanity.
He looked down at his reflection in the water, staring at it for a long time. He feels like he should end himself right here, he feels like he should be at the bottom of the river.
Multiple voices were coming into his head, as the now insane Infinite began to laugh in a sinister manner. There was a mental battle going on right now, the Infinite of old trying to live, while the new Infinite was trying to take over.
He held his head in pain, yelling as he was essentially fighting for his life.
"Your friends are gone…"
"You're all alone…"
"Nobody cares about you…"
"You didn't forget about avenging your friends, did you? It would be a crime if you did."
The voices started to come through, his own voice haunting him. However, it wouldn't be too much longer before he stopped screaming, replaying the last quote in his mind over and over again.
A red, flame-like aura appeared around him, his power increasing with each passing second.
"That's right… The real crime would be not to finish what I started."
He extended his arms, a massive amount of energy now covering them.
"Nothing will stand in my way!" he exclaimed, the water beginning to move from him powering up.
"NOTHING!"
Chaos.
Chaos everywhere.
The only thing that could make this scene more chaotic is if Chaos himself came out of nowhere, absorbed the power of the Chaos Emeralds, and went into absolute god mode on Republic City.
Maybe in another universe it happened, but alas, this is not the case. The Pro-Bending Arena was under attack, along with the rest of Republic City by not only Amon and the Equalists, but the evil genius Dr. Eggman decided to show up to the party as well.
Crashing through the arena's ceiling was a bunch of high tech flying mechs, defeating anyone who tried to oppose them. One flying mech in particular came right by the Future Industries board, exclaiming to them, "Out am I?!"
The mech fired a massive missile at the board of Future Industries, obliterating each and every last one of them, causing a massive explosion in the arena.
Well, it almost obliterated each and every one of them.
The only board members who survived were Mike, Bryan, and Aaron. They were able to move out the way at the last possible second to save their own lives. Whoever shot the missile at them had a personal vendetta against the entire board.
"I don't know what that thing is, but I'm not too interested in being here to find out!" Aaron exclaimed, the trio nodding at each other.
"Finally, something we can agree on!" Mike said, the three now getting up to make a run for it, but were interrupted by Equalists getting in their way. They looked rather intimidating, and now with no clear way out… Well, they were currently forced to be here.
"Oh great." Bryan sarcastically said, not liking the feeling of being surrounded.
"FOLKS, IT'S SAFE TO SAY WITH EVERYTHING THAT'S GOING ON RIGHT NOW, I AM CURRENTLY WETTING MY PANTS!" the announcer yelled, Equalists now kicking the door open and entered the booth. At this point, the announcer saw his life flashing before his very own eyes.
"NOW I AM POOPING MY PANTS!"
Outside the booth and focusing back on the arena, Amon and the rest of his Equalist army showed up, landing on their feet. One of the soldiers handed Amon a mic, giving him just the thing he needed to speak. To keep him from being uninterrupted, the Equalists grabbed Knuckles from behind, doing their best to keep him stationary which would prove to be quite the task.
"Let go of me!" Knuckles shouted, gritting his teeth.
Now it was time for Amon to speak to the people.
"Citizens of Republic City, what happened in the Pro-Bending finals tonight only proved my point even more when it comes to benders. Not only did your superiors ignore my threat, not caring about the lives that could possibly be lost, but the so called three-time champions, The Wolfbats, were blatantly cheating throughout the entirety of all their matches." Amon would let his words echo throughout the stands, the people becoming silent. "Are these the people who you want to cheer for? Cheaters? Then again, it is no different than benders using their power to oppress other people. If I had to take a lucky guess," Amon stopped his speech, turning to where the ref was.
"This is what happened to you, isn't it? You rigged all of their games because they came to you?"
The ref made the loudest gulp in the history of mankind, letting it be his only response.
"I'll take that as a yes." Amon said, looking away from the ref and back at the crowd. "My fellow citizens, it's time for a change in Republic City. No longer do you all have to be completely helpless against benders. Under my leadership, I will lead us into a new age." He raised his fist in the air, yelling out these final words.
"THE REVOLUTION HAS BEGUN!"
With Amon's chilling speech, Team Avatar and Team Sonic all looked on in shock. People were being electrocuted left and right, and we're not even talking about what was going on outside the arena. Republic City was being overrun, all of them not knowing what to do.
Though, maybe not all of them.
The one who felt the most guilt on everything that was transpiring right now was Sonic. He's the one who brought Eggman into this world. He's the one who performed Chaos Control along with Infinite. He's the reason why Amon now has flying mechs this world shouldn't have, leaving a lot of people completely helpless.
He's responsible for everything.
And now he has to change this.
He's the only one who can.
There was nobody in Team Avatar who had as much experience in saving the world like he did. As much as everyone else in Team Avatar would like to help, especially in Korra's case, he's not sure if they truly understand the sheer magnitude of this situation. Yes, Korra is very skilled, but she isn't a fully realized Avatar yet. Not to mention this world has not seen the likes of Eggman's technology and how destructive it can truly be.
If we're talking about pure power, then Korra might have Sonic beat.
However, being the best doesn't particularly mean the greatest.
Sonic was the greatest fighter here, no question about it.
BGM: Sonic Lost Word – The Deadly Six Theme (Orchestra Version)
Not wasting any more time, Sonic dashed out of the stands at high speeds, everybody becoming shocked at his actions. Okay, well… It's not completely unlike Sonic to rush into a situation without thinking, but in this case, they weren't expecting it.
"SONIC!" everybody yelled in unison, but their call would fall on deaf ears.
Sonic was ending this now.
As he was making his way to Amon, right before he was able to hit him, the mech who killed most of the Future Industries board members got right in front of the blue blur, grabbing him and threw him out the arena. The mech wouldn't be done with Sonic, though, since he decided to fly after him.
Another person would come down from the airship, landing on his feet as he couldn't help but laugh at what he just witnessed. "Did Sonic just try to attack you in this Equalist filled environment?"
"I think he did." Amon confirmed, handing the mic to Eggman.
"Hello everybody! I am Dr. Eggman! You know, the guy who was on the radio broadcast too? Anyway, I echo Amon's statements. It's time for nonbenders to fight back against the awful benders of this world!" Truth be told, Eggman didn't care one bit about the cause Amon was fighting for. He only acted like he cared due to their partnership. "You see this technology right here? Impressive, right? Well, now you all can fight back against these benders with my technology! Now you can possess power beyond your wildest dreams!" he said proudly, knowing he was the main reason why Amon had these excellent resources.
I mean, Hiroshi helped, but still.
"ENOUGH OF THIS EQUALIST CRAP!"
The voice was strong, causing Eggman and Amon to turn around.
What they saw was a very angry Tahno riding on a water cyclone, not liking the fact he lost his championship. Now some Equalist nonsense was going on too?
Yeah, he was pissed.
"I'M ENDING THIS NOW!" Tahno proclaimed, firing a massive water bullet at the two.
Eggman's eyes widened under his glasses, telling Amon, "I'll let you handle him!" he said, running away from the water bullet to avoid being hit.
Amon took a deep breath, gracefully flipping out the way. He would continue to do this since Tahno kept on shooting water bullet after water bullet, getting closer and closer to the waterbender's position.
Amon's strategy was working. Tahno's rage was blinding him so much to the point where he didn't even realize Amon was closing the distance. While Tahno was draining himself, Amon was casually making a fool out of him.
The scary part about this?
Tahno is probably the best Pro-Bender in the world.
But Amon?
Amon is a completely different beast.
Once he got close enough to Tahno, Amon struck him hard in the gut, causing the young waterbender to cough up blood. He would proceed to grab his neck and brutally slam him onto the arena, essentially choking the life out of him.
"I can see why you had to cheat now. Your skills are so pathetic that you and your team had no choice but to cheat." Amon insulted, letting his words simmer into Tahno's mind.
Tahno was struggling to breathe, but he did have the strength to respond. "Shut… up…"
"Still have the strength to speak, now do we?" responded Amon, holding Tahno up like he was a child who stood no chance against him. "You won't have the strength for long." he told him, letting Tahno go before kicking him right in the face, sending him flying back to the water where he hopes he'll drown.
The crowd looked on, being terrified at how easily Amon made short work of Tahno. The Equalist leader would turn to Eggman, saying, "Doctor, I think we're done here. We've conquered the arena, and now it's time to conquer the rest of Republic City."
"Excellent idea!" Eggman said, having a smirk on his face. Though, in the back of his head, he was thinking, "Note to self, don't challenge Amon in hand to hand combat."
The two would eventually leave the arena, the other Equalists sending them ropes to get them back inside the airships. As they were leaving, Knuckles finally broke free from the Equalists who were holding him, sending two hard punches which sent them flying to the other side of the arena. He looked up, screaming, "EGGMAAAAAAAN!"
"Nice to see you too, Knuckles!" Eggman jokingly said, knowing how frustrated Knuckles was due to his inability to do anything for that entire time.
Once they made it to the airships, they shifted their focus to the rest of Republic City. Team Avatar was still spooked at what they witnessed, to be quite honest with you. This goes for Korra especially, given what happened the last time she faced Amon.
As for Tahno and his fate, he pulled himself out of the water on his own strength, which is probably the best thing he can say about himself at this point. Knuckles ran to the edge of the arena, trying to see if he was still alive.
"Hey Tahno!" Knuckles yelled. "You better not be dea-!"
"I'm not dead, you idiot." Tahno managed to say, forcefully mustering it out as it hurt him to speak. He was also quite embarrassed. This dude was not having a good day whatsoever. From losing the championship to getting curb stomped by Amon, it's safe to say he was currently reconsidering all of his life decisions.

The rest of Team Avatar and Team Sonic made it to the arena, meeting up with Knuckles. With Sonic's whereabouts being unknown, Knuckles had to make sure somebody stepped up.
"How's Tahno?" Bolin asked, holding his still injured shoulder.
"He'll live." Knuckles told him, now looking at everyone. "Okay everybody, we don't have much time. We're basically in an all-out war right now, so the obvious thing to do is get our butts out there and fight for this city."
"Couldn't have said it better myself, Knux!" Tails replied with a grin, as Tenzin and Lin began to wake up.
They both held their heads, being unsure on what happened to them. Though, as they began to regain their senses, their eyes widened. Standing on his own two feet, Tenzin made sure to help Lin up. "Are you doing okay?"
"I'm fine. Humiliated, but other than that, fine." she spoke, venom being in her voice. It wasn't directed at Tenzin, it was more directed at how Amon made a fool out of her and the entire police force. They both looked up and saw the high-tech airships, technology that was way beyond this world's years. In a way, the two of them couldn't believe what they were seeing, but they couldn't stay in a trance for too much longer.
They eventually met up with the group, Asami having a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness you guys are okay!"
"I'll feel even better once we stop Amon for good." Lin proclaimed, turning to Tenzin. "Tenzin, I need you contact the general of the United Forces, along with the commander."
Tenzin slouched, closing his eyes. "You want me to contact my brother as well?"
Lin nodded. "We need all the help we can get."
Asami raised an eyebrow. "Wait, you're talking about General Iroh and Commander Bumi?"
"Indeed I am," Lin confirmed. "To even have a chance against this army, we need an army of our own."
"And a whole lot of luck," Blaze said, having a smirk. "Though, I'm sure we'll manage."
"I sure hope you're right." Mako responded, Blaze placing a hand on his shoulder.
"I will be right. You've been training for a long time now. Even though it was for the Pro-Bending championship, I think we all realize now what it was really for." Blaze was obviously referring to the state of Republic City.
Mako looked down, being deep in thought until Toza placed a hand on his shoulder as well. "I'll be fighting alongside you, Mako. I may be retired, but I can still kick some butt." he said, smiling.
With everybody speaking, there was one person who has yet to speak.
The Avatar.
Bolin noticed Korra's silence, giving her a worried expression. "You alright, Korra?"
Korra was thinking to herself a lot. Throughout her time in Republic City, she's been criticized by not being a fully realized Avatar, only being able to master 3 of the 4 elements. She still can't airbend, her spiritual side is essentially nonexistent, and now Republic City is literally at war.
If there was any time for Korra to step up, it would be now.
"Yeah… Just have to get my head in the game." she said. "I'm also worried about Sonic." she added, knowing it was part of the reason why she was lost in thought, but not the whole reason.
"Sonic will be fine, trust me." Tails said, knowing how many times he and all of Team Sonic have gone through Eggman's madness. "When push comes to shove, it's when he shines the brightest."
Korra stared at Tails, hoping he's right when it came to Sonic. When push comes to shove, he shines the brightest, huh?
The young Avatar clenched her fists, gritting her teeth.
It was time.
She looked at everyone, beginning to speak. "Everyone!"
They all looked at her, wondering she was about to say as a silence covered the arena. The young Avatar paused, her intensity rising along with her strong determination. She was not going to be afraid of Amon.
Not this time.
"Let's take back our city."
The whole group erupted in a roar, leaving the arena as they went outside to fight the battle of their lives. However, one redhead stopped dead in his tracks, coming back to the edge of the arena. "So, are you going to lie down all day, or are you going to make a change?" Knuckles called out, speaking to Tahno.
Tahno's response would be an eruption of water, almost looking like he was rising from the ashes of his defeat. He landed back on the arena, saying, "Nothing would make me happier than giving Amon a trip to hell."
Knuckles grinned, crossing his arms as he also nodded.
"Then let's get out there." he told him, the two running outside.
As for Sonic, he and the flying mech were crashing all over Republic City, rolling around the streets as they hit multiple Satomobiles, destroying them one by one. The two would crash into a bus, slicing it apart as a small explosion happened, the fire coming over the mech while the two continued to be in a wrestling match.
The mech would fully grip Sonic, throwing him into a building as the citizens started to run for their lives. Sonic came out the building, adrenaline fully pumping through him. "Is that all you got, you bucket of bolts?!" he said, speedily coming after the mech.
The mech's response would be a hard punch into Sonic's jaw, but Sonic would reply with a hard uppercut into its chin, cracking some of the exterior of the mech from the force. When Sonic wasn't holding back, he could prove to be quite the hitter. Not as powerful as Knuckles, but he could definitely hold his own.
The mech would soon recover, its hand turning into a sword as it tried to slice Sonic. Because of his great speed, Sonic performed multiple flips to avoid the slashes, getting enough distance between them which would allow the blue blur to counter with another attack.
Bending down, his blue aura appeared around him, suddenly spindashing right into the mech. The impact of Sonic's spindash knocked the mech a good distance back, no traces of it being able to be seen.
Throughout this entire time, Sonic kept a serious look on his face. He couldn't be too sure about the mech being done. In fact, he's not sure if somebody was controlling this mech, like the last time he fought one.
On the other side of Republic City, councilman Tarrlok was trying to evacuate the citizens. He tried to contact the other members of the council, but he's received word that they were all taken down by Amon, their fates being unknown. As far as he knows, that leaves him and Tenzin as the only ones being able to defend their home.
"Move, everybody! Move!" Tarrlok told them all, as he and his Task Force were doing the best they could.
But then… Tarrlok felt a cold shiver running down his spine.
BGM: TMNT 2007 - Nightwatcher
You know how you can sense when somebody is looking at you? This is what Tarrlok was feeling.
He looked up, his eyes locking on to the target he's been trying to take down for a long time now.
Amon was on top of a building, watching Tarrlok evacuate the people without saying a single word. Truth be told, it was quite creepy, especially since you can't really tell what Amon really looks like under his mask.
Once Amon was spotted, he started to run away, but Tarrlok wouldn't let him get away that easily. "Men! Continue to evacuate the citizens!"
A cold look formed on his face, and it transferred to his eyes as well.
"I'm taking that madman down for good."
Bending the water around him, Tarrlok used it to give him a jumping boost, landing on the building Amon was on, now being in pursuit of the man who's caused so much trouble. As both of them were running, the two proved to be no slouches in the speed and agility department. Amon and Tarrlok were proving to be in terrific shape, jumping from building to building, the intensity risng with each passing second.
Amon jumped off one of the buildings, landing on one of the Satomobiles. Seeing a row of Satomobiles, Amon began to leap onto each one, trying to end this game of cat and mouse. Seeing another building he could leap on, he analyzed his surroundings and saw there was ladder he could climb.
Once he leapt, Tarrlok was right there with him, the two bodies crashing onto the ladder as the warriors were now off balance. Though, it wouldn't be like that for long, given Amon regained his balance and started to climb the ladder, with Tarrlok once again not being far behind. Their pure agility was being shown here, but unfortunately for Amon, he would meet a dead end.
No more buildings to leap on, unless he wanted to fall to his death.
Sooner or later, rain started to pour down, the drops slowly sliding on Amon's mask.
"Nowhere to run now, you psycho." Tarrlok told him, Amon turning his body to face him. "You think you can change the world like this? Causing a war in the city you apparently want to protect?" he asked, Amon remaining silent. Tarrlok could only sigh, figuring he had to get down to business.
"Listen here, Amon. I'll give you one chance to call this whole thing off. If you do, you might not be in prison for the rest of your life."
There was silence between the two, Amon's body looking like a statue until he got into his battle stance. Tarrlok slightly laughed at the sight, kind of expecting Amon to be stubborn.
"Trust me, you don't want to do this." Tarrlok told him, getting into his own stance. "As a matter of fact, I don't even need my bending for someone as pathetic as you."
Those words might have triggered something.
Amon let out a powerful yell, now charging at Tarrlok and threw multiple punches at him. Tarrlok effectively dodged these punches by leaning backwards, and proceeded to give a spinning kick right into Amon's face. Knocking Amon back a bit, the Equalist leader wouldn't waste any time as he countered with his own kick, their legs clashing with each other as well as their punches.
Seeing an opening, Amon pulled his fist back and punched Tarrlok in his face, knocking the wind out of him for a second. This made Amon think he had another opportunity to really put his stamp on the battle, rushing towards Tarrlok and continued his onslaught of combos.
Still, Tarrlok proved to be no slouch, grabbing Amon's punches and sent an uppercut, sending Amon high in the air while also knocking his mask off. With his body crashing onto the building, Tarrlok slowly walked over to Amon, having a smirk on his face. "This is what the great Amon has to offer?" he mocked, feeling overconfident. "I have to say, you're not all you're cracked up to be-"
Tarrlok stopped himself, seeing Amon get up. With his mask being taken off, it's like Tarrlok's whole world froze for a second. Even with all the rain and chaos going on in the city, in Tarrlok's point of view, you could hear a pencil drop by how silent it became.
No, no this couldn't be true.
"Noatak?" Tarrlok managed to say, refusing to believe what he was seeing. By that time, Noatak had kicked Tarrlok in the gut, making him skid across the building.
"Out of all the things you've become, you've become the very thing our father tried to be."
Now with Tarrlok fully realizing what was going on, there was no doubt about it.
After years upon years, the two brothers have finally reunited.
And it wasn't the family reunion he was hoping for. "What do you mean what our father tried to be?! I'm trying to make a difference in this city! Our father tried to take it over!"
"Isn't that what you're trying to do now?" Noatak said, his voice being extra chilling.
"It's the same thing you're trying to do!" Tarrlok clapped back.
Noatak disagreed. "No, it's not." he spoke. "You think I'm a fool, don't you? What you're really trying to achieve is power, which is the very thing I'm fighting against. You're no better than the other benders who use their powers to oppress others. Where father failed in his plans was that he thought he could foolishly take control of the city from the outside, with Avatar Aang still being around mind you. In your case, you're trying to take control of the city from the inside."
Noatak's words were a harsh reality, and it showed in Tarrlok's face. Judging by his reaction, there was no doubt about it…
Noatak was right.
"You can say I'm trying to take over Republic City all you want, but what I'm really fighting for is equality."
Tarrlok swiped his hand, getting angrier by the second. "And you think this is the best way to do it?! Look at all the mess you've caused! Innocent lives are being lost because of your actions!"
"They're not innocent lives in my book!" Noatak replied with the same anger Tarrlok had, venom being in his voice. "This is the reason why I left home! This is the difference between me and you. Father always said you were too weak, and when it was time to finally make a change, you're the one who stayed home. You only proved his point."
"And you expected me to just leave mom by herself?!" Tarrlok was reaching his breaking point, and the same could be said for Noatak. "You act like you're some god that can change the whole world, like people can't function without you!" While Tarrlok partly believed what he was saying, there was an underlying meaning. Truth be told, Tarrlok was still hurt over Noatak deciding to leave home years ago. It's a scar that's never fully healed, and it was showing itself now.
"I am leading these people! I'm leading the people without hope! Can't you see that bending has been the cause of every war in every era?! Do I even need to mention the 100-year war?!" Noatak pointed out, but Tarrlok wouldn't remain silent.
"You're making a big mistake! Don't you realize the world needs benders?! Can you imagine how the world would be without them?!"
"It would be a whole lot more peaceful, that's what it would be." Noatak said, the two brothers not backing down from each other in their argument. "Why do you not see this? Why do you hate me for fighting for the right cause?! I'm trying to lead the entire world to true peace!"
"AND WHOEVER SAID I WANTED TO BE LED BY SOME LUNATIC?!" Tarrlok emitted a powerful yell from his vocals, pointing right at Noatak. "You're the one who left, you're the one who left our family! If you're this so-called great leader you claim to be, I'd at least expect you to get the meaning of family!" Tarrlok had about enough of this. He started moving his arms, controlling the rain around him. "But you know something, big brother? You'll never get it. I realize that now. It only increases my motivation to take you down for good."
In mere moments, Tarrlok was holding two water whips in his hand, staring down his brother as he got back into a fighting stance.
"Don't do this, Tarrlok."
The two continued to stare at each other. With Noatak's quote, he sounded his controlling father. Back when they were kids, Tarrlok would always get the worst of this, and it's safe to say he was fed up.
"I'm done taking orders."
Noatak's stare wouldn't end, but what would start is him getting into his own stance. Clenching his two fists together, all the rain around them stopped. Those raindrops came around Noatak, all of them combining into massive amounts of water.
With a full moon being out, both of these waterbenders were fully charged to their max.
And both of them wouldn't leave anything out in their battle.
BGM: Avatar: The Last Airbender – Last Agni Kai
"I'm sorry it has to end this way, brother." Noatak said, his tone being cold.
Tarrlok nodded in disgust. "No, you're not."
With the two saying their last words to each other, Tarrlok sent his two water whips right at Noatak, but the master waterbender used the water drops all around him to create an ice shield, blocking the attacks.
The ice wouldn't stay up for too long, though, because Tarrlok continued to be on the offensive by grabbing all of the raindrops falling, clenching his fist as he turned them all into ice spikes, sending them straight at his brother. With Noatak seeing the ice spikes, he analyzed all of their positions, perfectly kicking them away with downright scary accuracy.
Afterwards, Noatak and Tarrlok both fired a water bullet at each other, two attacks clashing and upon impact, they exploded, creating a large splash. The building they were fighting on began to feel the sheer ferocity of all these attacks, and slowly but surely, it began to crumble.
Still, it was the least of their concerns right now.
This fight wasn't about fighting for equality.
This was a tragic story between two brothers of a broken family.
Tarrlok would let out a powerful yell, shooting his arms forward as he used the water surrounding Republic City to his advantage, shooting an enormous wave at Noatak. To counter an attack this huge, Noatak knew he had to do something.
Looking at the rain around him, he raised his arms in the air, controlling all of the droplets and combined all of them to make multiple forms of water. These multiple forms were specifically water-like meteors, coming down like a crashing nuke.
Sending his arms downward, Noatak released the Water Meteors, which interrupted Tarrlok's wave. Not only that, but the water meteors that missed their mark were hitting Republic City down below, the whole area now looking like a tsunami hit it. With such massive amounts of water being thrown out, someone had to give.
Tarrlok couldn't keep up his offense any longer, eventually being struck by a lot of Noatak's water meteors, blasting him away and knocked him out momentarily. When he was trying to regain consciousness, all he saw was a figure standing over him.
Noatak's figure, to be exact.
Groaning in pain, Tarrlok's senses slowly started to come back to him.
All Noatak could do is stare, feeling a bevy of emotions. "I have a vision for the future, Tarrlok. And you're getting in the way of my vision."
Noatak brought Tarrlok to his knees, placing his fingers on his head as he began to cleanse him of his sins.
In other words, he was taking his bending away.
Tarrlok let out a scream of pain and agony, before his body fell limp at not having any power, going back to being unconscious. Seeing this transpire, Noatak could only stare at his brother for a few more short moments.
But then he realized the building was getting closer and closer to collapsing.
Running to his mask and putting it back on his face, Amon looked back at his brother one more time, before fully escaping, jumping onto another building to take care of business elsewhere. With the building collapsing, Tarrlok was falling with it, his body being covered by the rubble as the impact of the crashing building sounded like an earthquake all around Republic City.
Team Avatar went outside, witnessing all the madness that was transpiring. Tenzin was about to make his way to the radio station to contact General Iroh and his brother Captain Bumi, but a call from Lin would change his entire mindset.
"Tenzin! Look!"
Tenzin turned around, his pupils shrinking as his face looked on in horror. Some of the airships were heading for Air Temple Island, and this could only mean one thing.
"No… No, no, NO!" Tenzin yelled, now knowing his family was in grave danger. "My family! They'll… They'll be wiped out!"
To add onto this situation, if something isn't done quickly, then the last remaining airbenders on this planet will surely die. Pema was currently pregnant, and at this point, who knows when the baby will be coming. Lin gritted her teeth, knowing she had to shift her focus elsewhere.
"We still have time to make it over there if we're fast enough!" Lin reminded.
"But then who will contact General Iroh and Bumi?!" Tenzin replied.
Tails would step forward. "I'll do it. I'm pretty good when it comes to these things. And besides, if some unforeseen disaster happens, I'm sure I'll be able to fix the radio in the process." Tails told them confidently, Tenzin and Lin looking at him.
There was no other way.
"Okay…" Tenzin replied. "You should be able to contact them at City Hall. Be careful."
Tails gave a nod. "You too. Now go save your family."
Tenzin would give Tails a nod of his own, as he and Lin would rush to Air Temple Island.
The rest of Team Avatar and Team Sonic would look at the chaos happening. All the airships, all the robots, all the destruction, freaking everything was going to crap.
"So, anybody have any idea on how we're safely going to get to City Hall without getting shot at?" Bolin asked, still holding his injured shoulder from his Pro-Bending match.
"I don't think there is a safe route, bro." Mako told him seriously, making Bolin sigh deeply.
"If we have to fight to get there," Korra began, slamming her fist into her palm. "Then that's what we'll have to do!"
END OF CHAPTER 14: THE SIEGE OF REPUBLIC CITY PART 1
BGM: Sonic R – Number One
Korra: This way, guys!
Bolin: Why does literally everything have to be blowing up?!
Blaze: You guys go on ahead! I'll distract them!
Eggman: So noble… yet so foolish.
Next time on Don't Think Twice!
The Siege of Republic City Part 2
Tenzin: LIN, LOOK OUT!
Author's Note: Pheeewww! Okay guys, chapter 14 is finally done. I will say this, though. I intentionally separated the finale into other parts, because honestly, this chapter could have been 12,000+ words. I don't know about you guys, but that's A LOT of reading in one sitting, especially with the amount of crap going on in this chapter. So, you guys get part one for now, and part 2 will definitely come not too long after this. Will Amon make everybody look like fools once again? Haha.
As always, if you guys like what you read, leave a follow and a favorite! Don't forget to READ AND REVIEW! See you guys next chapter!
Oh, and be sure to check out my Spider-Man, Ben 10, and Persona fanfics if you're interested in those series. You won't be disappointed... hopefully, lol.
