The prompt this week was "Ozpin decides to give Team RWBY the ability to turn into animals. Weiss is NOT happy with what was picked for her." So obviously I did something ridiculous.

"Are you ready?" asked Ozpin through Oscar's mouth.

"We're ready," confirmed Ruby.

With that, the wizard raised his hands, and a warm green light shone over the four members of Team RWBY. It surrounded them and began to absorb into their bodies.

"With this, I grant you all the gift of flight," Ozpin intoned.

When the light faded, Ruby was the first to try out her new gift, knowing immediately how to transform. One moment she was standing there with her teammates, and the next she was gone, a red-tailed hawk in her place. The bird took off and flew around the field they were standing in before returning and transforming back into Ruby.

"That was amazing!" she cried.

Blake was up next, transforming into a sooty owl. She too tested out her ability to fly, silently circling the field before returning to her true form with a huge smile on her face.

"Incredible," she whispered.

Weiss stepped forward next, imagining taking the form of a beautiful dove. But as her shape changed in the blink of an eye, the others could only stare at what she had become.

"That's… strange," said Ruby.

Weiss looked down at herself and screeched in a high-pitched tone.

"What is this supposed to be?"

"It can talk?" cried Blake in surprise.

Ozpin looked up at the creature. "You don't like it?"

"LIKE IT?" squeaked Weiss. "I hate it! What even is this thing? And what's with my voice? I sound like one of those singing chipmunk Faunus!"

"Most animals can't talk at all," Ozpin reminded Weiss, but it did little to mollify her. The heiress swung one of her claws at the wizard, but fell short.

"Nice try," Yang chuckled.

"What happened?" demanded Weiss. "How did I miss?"

"Well, you only have one eye," Blake pointed out. "So, you wouldn't have much depth perception."

"ONE EYE?" screamed Weiss. "What kind of flying animal doesn't have binocular vision?"

"This one," replied Ozpin unhelpfully.

"Hey, don't worry, Weiss," Ruby said. "I think you look pretty cool. Your horn is like a unicorn's!"

"Unicorns have two eyes!" Weiss snapped. "Seriously, Professor, why would you give me this form? It isn't stealthy at all!"

"I didn't want to make all four of you stealthy," Ozpin replied. "I thought it would be useful if one of you could fight while in your animal form."

"This thing can fight?" asked Blake.

"Yes, it's quite dangerous," Ozpin confirmed. "In fact, its diet consists entirely of humans and Faunus."

For a moment Team RWBY just stared at him. Ruby was the first to regain the ability to speak.

"This thing eats people?"

"Well, not just any people," Ozpin corrected. "Only people with purple skin."

The three girls and one man-eating monster twisted their faces in confusion.

"Where would I even find purple people?" asked Weiss.

"I'm not sure," admitted Ozpin. "But don't worry, you can just turn back into a human if you get hungry."

"Right," mumbled Weiss. "So… what exactly am I?"

"Isn't it obvious?" asked Ozpin. "You're a One Eyed, One Horned, Flying Purple People Eater."

"One Eyed, One Horned, Flying Purple People Eater?" repeated Weiss despondently.

"One Eyed, One Horned, Flying Purple People Eater," confirmed Ozpin.

"Sure looks strange to me," Blake murmured.

"Guys," interrupted Yang. "I think we might have another problem."

As soon everyone turned to look at her, Yang transformed into a bright yellow canary… with a mechanical arm in the place of its right wing. The bird was clearly struggling under the weight of the human-sized prosthetic.

"Oh, I knew I was forgetting something," Ozpin muttered to himself.
