"So you went to see the Truemans?" Roxy furrowed her eyebrows, licking foam off her finger after sweeping it round the rim of her mug of coffee. "So you've worked out the baby is definitely Isaac's?"

"Well no…" Katy admitted with a sigh, propping her chin on her palm. "But if it is I don't want to alienate them. It's not their fault Isaac's an arse."

"Well… Sheree did raise him."

"Mmm… and Gran raised you. I wouldn't blame her for that, either, Aunty Rox." The younger blonde teased.

"Oi!"

"I don't know what to do about Tyler." Katy admitted after a moment, lowering her voice as Ash and Iqra passed them and headed out of the café, talking loudly. "I can't get hold of him."

"Hasn't he phoned you back yet?" Roxy asked, furrowing her eyebrows in surprise.

Her niece shook her head. "No… I've called him like every day. I know he's been speaking to Ruby, but she said he won't talk to me."

"Can't you get Ruby to tell him?"

Katy stared at her as though she'd lost her mind. "You want me to ask my nine-year-old to tell her father that I might be having his baby? Rox, I haven't even… as far as the girls know, this is Isaac's baby. I'm not going to tell them that I don't know who knocked me up!"

"OK, OK!" Roxy held up her hands defensively. "Fair enough. Well can you get her to pass the phone over to you when he calls?"

"I've tried that… many times. He just hangs up without listening to me. He's so childish!"

"Well you've tried." Roxy shrugged, taking a long sip from her coffee.

"I'm gonna have to tell him in a message, aren't I?" Katy sighed tiredly. "That's the last thing I wanted to do."

"Do you have to–?"

"Of course I have to tell him, Rox." The younger Mitchell sighed again. "It wouldn't be fair."

"But you don't know…"

"No," she conceded wearily, "I don't know whether it's his or Isaac's. But it wouldn't be right to just turn up on his doorstep with a baby without giving him any warning, would it?"

"It's not fair that he's being such a child and refusing to speak to you." Roxy reminded her. "Especially seeing as he claims to love those kids so much and he hasn't even seen them in months because he won't risk having to talk to you."

"He's been in Spain with Eddie, you know that."

"Yeah, for a month. What about the rest of the time?"

"Look, Rox, I know you're pissed off at him but this isn't helping."

"No," the older blonde shook her head, narrowing her eyes, "what's not helping is you trying to distract yourself from the fact that your girlfriend has buggered off without telling you where she is, by fixating on the need to tell Tyler about the baby."

"It's not… Tina hasn't just…"

"Have you heard anything from that detective you spoke to?"

Katy shook her head. "There's been nothing. Shirley won't tell me anything either and Mick and Linda seem to be worried about something else."

"So what's your big plan?"

"I don't have one."

"Katy Mitchell doesn't have a plan?" Roxy arched an eyebrow at her. "You always have a plan and they're normally completely over the top and ridiculous."

"This time I don't, alright?"

"Katy…"

"I don't know where to start." She admitted quietly, shaking her head.

Roxy softened a little, reaching out and covering Katy's hand with her own. "You look exhausted, babe. You need to take care of yourself."

"I'm fine."

"I'm sure Kathy could take more of the strain at the bar for a while and take the pressure off you."

"Without Tina, I can't afford to take a step back… we haven't got the staff."

"Me and Ron will help out… I'm sure Mum wouldn't mind a few shifts."

"I can cope. I'm fine."

"I'm not saying you can't cope. All I'm saying is you're not alone and you need to take care of yourself and the baby."

Katy was about to open her mouth to complain, when the café door opened and Whitney appeared. They locked eyes for a moment before the brunette smiled weakly. They hadn't really spoken since they'd argued about Gray the last time. Roxy looked between them, before draining her mug and excusing herself.

"How's it going?" Whitney asked as she settled herself in the recently vacated chair opposite Katy's and wrapping her hands around a mug of tea.

"Same old." The Mitchell shrugged, before exhaling slowly. "Sorry… I should have made more of an effort to spend time with you over Christmas. Things have just been a bit manic with the break in at R&R and the kids and that."

"It's fine, I get it. So… everything OK with bump?"

"Yeah… it's doing great." Katy smiled, glancing down at her stomach.

"Boy or girl?"

Katy laughed. "I'm not telling."

"Have you thought of any names?" Whitney asked.

"Lots…" She admitted with a deep sigh.

"Boy names or girl names?"

"I'm still not telling you." The older woman laughed. "Nice try."

"Go on, then…"

"Aston, Hayden, Dominic, Jaxon… or Sienna, Willow, Jade, Lyra…"

Whitney looked at her, her eyes narrowing. "I mean, there's nothing wrong with those names… they're just not very you."

"I know… I can't think of anything I really like. I did like Albie, but Bimbo Barbie stole that one, didn't she."

"If it's a girl you could call her Victoria. Then they could get married and be Victoria and Albert."

"Piss off." Katy laughed, shoving her lightly in the shoulder. "As if I'd ever allow that to happen."

"Victoria's a nice name, though. It goes with Ruby, Sophie and Jessica."

"Yeah… I'm not sure about naming my kid after a pub, though. I think that might be a bit much, even for a Mitchell."

Whitney laughed and shrugged. "Yeah, maybe. Maisie?"

"Maisie Mitchell?"

"Maybe not. Ava?"

"A bit too similar to Amy." Katy shrugged. "Ava, Amy…"

"Olivia?"

Screwing up her nose, the blonde shook her head. "Nah… too like Ollie."

"Ollie?"

"Well, he's Tina's nephew, ain't he?"

Whitney grinned, leaning forwards and fixing her friend with a curious smile. "Yeah… that reminds me. What, exactly, is going on between you and Tina?"

"Nothing, considering I have no idea where she is."

"But if she was here?"

Katy couldn't stop a small smile spreading across her face. "I really like her, Whit. I never even considered a relationship with a woman before… which seems really stupid because what does that matter when they're your favourite person in the whole world."

"She can be a bit much… doesn't that get on your nerves?"

"I can be a bit much, too." The blonde reminded her. "When I'm taking myself too seriously Tina doesn't just let me get away with it like most people do. She takes the piss and I realise what an idiot I'm being."

"I'm not gonna argue that you take yourself too seriously." Whitney shrugged. "You need to lighten up. Maybe Tina's the perfect person to make you do that?"

Katy exhaled sharply. "If she was here… I just don't get why she would run away when she knew that she was innocent. Arthurs and Dad told her that the witness wouldn't hold up and the CPS weren't going to touch it. It makes absolutely no sense."

"Maybe she didn't believe them?"

"But she did. I spoke to her before she went. She knew she was gonna be OK."

"Gray said–"

"Fuck Gray!" Katy exploded passionately. "I don't trust him. It wouldn't surprise me if he had something to do with this."

"Katy, there's no way–"

"Don't you dare tell me there's no way Gray had anything to do with it or that he wouldn't do anything to Tina or that he was just trying to help her." The blonde snapped furiously. "He's a liar and a bully and…"

"And?"

"And I reckon Tina was right… I reckon it is his fault that Chantelle died."

Whitney's mouth dropped open in horror. "What? He… he wouldn't have hurt Chantelle…"

"Why not? He's manipulative, controlling… clearly he has anger issues. Just watch his face when something doesn't go his way." Katy retorted sharply. The more she thought about it, the more irritated she got. "I wouldn't put anything past him."

Whitney looked at her warily. "Katy… what are you thinking?"

"I need to speak to him."

"Don't go in there shouting the odds. It ain't fair on Gray! You're just–"

"Don't stick up for him, Whit." She shook her head, gathering her things. "He doesn't deserve your loyalty."

"You don't know that he had anything to do with anything!" Whitney defended the man, following her friend out of the café. "Katy, this ain't right. You have no evidence that he's done anything except try and help Tina."

"He lied to her about the witness!" Katy snapped. "What more do I need to know that he's a liar?"

"Maybe he just didn't have the chance to tell her?" Whitney persevered. "Maybe he was thinking about what to do next before he said anything?"

"Yeah? Or maybe he's the one who was stitching her up."

"Why would he? What reason would he have for doing that?"

"I don't know." Katy replied darkly. "But I'm going to find out."
