I get up in the morning and step out of my room. I see my dad making breakfast. I take a pancake off the stack beside him and start munching down.
"Are the Shadow hunters coming back?" I ask him
"I don't know yet. I just woke up." He tells me.
I pull out my witches light. My mom got it for me. I hold it up. I do this to get comfort from it. The day passes by quickly I practice my runes and learn a few new ones. I do this all the time. I hope to one day know all the ruins.
It hits the afternoon. I step out of my room. I see dad with his phone in his hand pacing the living room.
"Are you alright?" I ask him
"No, I don't know if I should try calling Alec. You know ask him on a date?"
"I think you really should. I don't think Alec will make the first move," I tell him. "II think you and Alec would make a cute couple."
"You approve?"
"If he treats you right, I definitely approve."
Dad calls Alec while pacing around the room, he speakers the phone so I can hear what's going on.
"Hello? Who is this?" Alec picks up after a few rings.
"Alexander. Hi." My dad says nervously. I smile encouragingly. "It's Magnus. We met the other day. You know, with the demon."
"Uh, yeah…. Yeah, hey, what's up?" He responds
"I was just thinking it was really nice getting to know you. You seem." My dad pauses to think of the right word. "sympathetic Would you like to go out for a drink some time?" I smack my forehead with my palm. I mouth out sympathetic with a questioning look. He shrugs his shoulders at me.
" That sounds fun, um…. When?" Alec asks.
My dad looks at me. I mouth now.
"How about right now?" My dad asks. I give my dad a thumbs up.
"Um… you know, now's not really a good time for me. Another time? Gotta go." I hear the phone click.
"Playing hard to get. I love a challenge." My dad tells me.
"I think it's less of a challenge and more of the fact he has no idea that he is gay." I say. I look down at my phone and text Jace.

I'm good, just studying. What are you up to tonight?

Him and I stop texting. My dad sits down holding a cocktail.
"Learn anything interesting?" He asks me, knowing exactly who I was texting.
"How did you know?" I ask him
"You were smiling."
"I don't always smile."
"Not when texting me you don't"
"How would you know? I'm not in the same room as you when texting you."
"A father knows these things, now spill"
"Fine. He was saying they were getting information from a Seelie. If I were to guess Valentine is creating more trouble, then he is worth." I tell him leaning back and putting my feet on the edge of the coffee table. "I also learned that Clary snuck out. So that is probably why Alec had to suddenly go."
"Hmm, you could be right." My dad says taking a sip of his cocktail deep in thought. We both sit in silence till we hear a frantic banging on the door. "I'll get it." My dad stands up and goes and answers the door.
"What happened?" My dad askes the people at the door
"He was attacked" I hear a boy say.
"He needs a warlock. He needs you." I hear a girl say.
"Put him in here" My dad says. I see Clary, Jace and some boy holding up my uncle. I quickly stand up and run over to help set him on the couch.
He is deliriously talking, and Clary is stupidly talking back. I want to just shake her and scream that he has no grip on reality he has no idea where he is or who you are right now. But I didn't, gold star for me.
"Was he bitten by the alpha" My dad asks them as I get a cold cloth to wipe his forehead with. I head back over quickly sitting by his head and wiping his forehead hoping it will help make him a bit more comfortable, while my dad works.
"Yeah, why?" the guys says. Looking very confused at all of us.
"Three, two, one…." My dad and I both say together. At the end of one my uncle Luke's eye light up yellow and he growls.
"Oh my god" Clary says extremely frightened.
My dad walks away from the Sofa to get medicine while I keep dabbing my uncles brow.
"Where do you think your going?" the boy asks rudely.
"Where ever he damn well pleases." I snark right back.
My dad gives me a look "Daniella!" He warns "Hold him down" Clary, the boy and I all hold my uncle down, so he doesn't hurt himself. My dad goes to get the medicine from the other room. "We don't have a lot of time." He pushes the medicine into my uncle Luke's mouth. "It will take a few moments to take effect." My dad tells them. I release my hold from my uncle, I go rewet the cloth and go back to dabbing his forehead.
"What is happening to him?" Clary asks. She seems scared out of her mind. I guess with not growing up in this world it would be scary.
"Random Werewolf transformation." I tell her.
"It's a side effect of the poison in the alpha bite," My dad explains. Apparently giving a name wasn't good enough for him. I look down at my uncle Luke, I know this is painful for him. I really do hope he pulls through. My mom really does love him.
