"It's a side effect of the poison in the alpha bite," My dad explains. Apparently giving a name wasn't good enough for him. I look down at my uncle Luke, I know this is painful for him. I really do hope he pulls through. My mom really does love him.

My dad heads to the kitchen. He starts preparing a cure for him. I notice Simon take a lick of the blood on his hand. He is turning into a vampire. He is acting strange for a mundane and that is one of the few explanations I can come up with.

"you okay" Simon asks Clary. I honestly think they forgot I am in the room. I stay quiet and just listen. Clary nods to him. "Hey… it's me. I know how much to you.

"How could I have doubted him? Simon, he's ….. He's the only father I've ever known. I can't lose him." Clary says. Simon and her hug for comfort.

"I get a good vibe from this Magnus Bane guy. He seems like he knows what he's doing." Simon says. Clearly forgetting I am there. I hold back a scoff.

"The bark will stop the transformation for now, but Luke needs an antidote to stop the poison in his system. And I don't have all the ingredients here." My dad tells them. I stand knowing I will probably have to go get those ingredients.

"Just tell me what you need and how to get it." Clary says. They have obviously forgotten I am here. Am I invisible?

"No, you stay here. Luke will need you if he wakes up." My dad tells her.

"When he wakes up." Clary corrects.

"If." I say they both whip their heads in my direction looking shocked.

"I'll go" Simon says.

Jace comes into the house and walks over to me.

"Did our house lose the door?" I ask

"No, I just opened it them closed it behind me. It was unlocked." Jace explains.

"Uggg, Nephilim!" I throw my hands up in the air. My dad chuckles.

"You're one too." Jace tell me.

"Jace, what happened to you?" I ask finally getting a look at him. he has blood on his face. I quickly go grab a cloth and wipe off his face.

"Luke's car may have found its way onto a pole when I was stashing it. I don't do mundane driving." Jace tells Clary and Simon around my wiping.

"Yeah, apparently." Simon snips. I glare at him.

"What do you need for the antidote?" Jace asks. Finally, someone who is actually capable of finding what dad needs.

"Hey, I got this." Simon says. He obviously has a crush on Clary and is proving he is the better choice. Jace doesn't even like her.

"Phoenix eyes, moon salt, and Idris fulgurite." My dad lists out. we probably need to have more of that on hand anyway. I will pick up extra as well.

"One trip to the pharmacy, it'll take two seconds." Simon jokes clearly having no idea where to get the ingredients.

"I know a guy." Jace says.

"Take my daughter with you." My dad tells him.

"Alright and uh…. I don't need him." He points to Simon.

"Too bad. You're getting me. We'll be right back." Simon butts in. This will be interesting.

"Do not get us killed!" I tell him very seriously.

As we are walking out the door my dad stops us.

"One more thing, I need Alexander." He tells Jace. I almost squeal. I knew it. He likes Alexander. He will get to see Alexander tonight after all. Cocktails!

"Uh, Why do you need Alec?" Jace asks clearly being protective.

"Virgin Shadowhunter energy." I supply helping my dad out.

"You're not a virgin?" He blurts out surprised.

"That's a personal question." I say a little offended "And besides even if I am I am going with you. I can't be in two places at once."

"That explains so much." Simon says. Thinking my lie meant anything. Got to love being the only warlocks in the room. Mundane's are dense.

"Um, Alec. Yeah…. I can't" Jace says uncomfortably. Clearly, they are still fighting. I really hope they figure this out cause they are parabatai.

"Jace, just ask, please. You guys need to talk." Clary announces that they have issues to the room.

"Trouble in paradise?" My dad can't help but pry. He loves good gossip.

"Just don't speak to me." Jace says as he exits. I quickly catch up to him and Simon is running to keep up.

"You should call him." I tell Jace quietly. "I'd kill for a Parabatai. Cherish it and don't let him go. You don't want anything bad to happen to him. Especially, if you two are fighting." I gentle prod him to call.

Jace's phone goes off. He looks at the screen it's Alec. He chuckles at me.

"You need to get back to the institute." I hear Alec say on the other end of the line.

"You need to help me first." Jace tells him urgently.

"No, I'm not messing around." Alec says seriously. Clearly something has happened.

"Me either. I need your help." Jace replies back.

"You okay?" Alec asks concerned.

"I'm fine," Jace says calming. Jace goes on to explain. "It's Magnus. He needs your powerful Shadowhunter energy, or something like that."

I chuckle. My lie really is going far.

"Magnus… Why does Magnus need me?" Alec asks confused.

"To help save Luke's life." Jace explains

"No, I told you at the wolf den, no more Downworlder business. We can't be seen as interfering with a pack alpha dispute. How can you even ask me_"

Jace cuts Alec off "I shouldn't have to ask you, Alec. We're Parabatai." He guilts him. I don't think that is the way to go. One day Alec will snap on him, and it won't be pretty.

"That's exactly my point," Alec stresses.

"Alec, you're a man of honor, and the only person in this world I would trust with something like this. I'm counting on you to do the right thing." Jace says trying again to get his support. I want to face palm. This will eventually backfire.

Alec sighs and agrees.
