Chapter 2: after the battle

Guards pov

Its was normal day in the capital, people talked while they did their jobs, kids played in the streets and guards were having boring day they kinda hoped for something interesting to happen, then a dragon appear in the slums and started chasing a man who then proceed to blow said dragon in a warehouse full of fire magic crystals, yeah maybe they got a lot more for what they asked for but there was not turning back now, when they arrived to the ruins left by battle the only one they found was man standing watching a corpse burn in the ruins the witness around said that they saw what was left of the dragon turn into that with the man dealing the last blow stabbing heart an throwing what was left in the fire when they started to questioning the man on what happen apparently he had found a safe house of the witch cult nearby he got spotted and had fight to escape the last thing he said losing his conscience scare all present.

" she said she was an archbishop"

After that the man was taken to the karsten manor they did not what happen to his arms or they did not know what kind of poison was used in him but it was preventing them to heal him once there the second bomb was dropped

Felix:"SUBARU I JUST HEALED YOU WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU" scream the cat boy clearly angry

Guard:" sorry but did said subaru the same that insulted all knights at royal selection" he said in tone of disbelief

Felix:"yeah don't tell me he went and asked for more fight and got himself with someone who didn't had julius patience seriously I'm this close of never healing him aga" before he could end his rant the Guard stopped him

Guard :"it was the witch cult and all the witness affirm that it was archbishop the fact she was able to turn into dragon doesn't help either"

Felix:"he survived a fight with archbishop what the hell happen why we weren't inform that the cult was attacking the capital"

Guard :"there was no attack, he found a witch cult safe house and killed everybody in there or so it seems we just found a bunch of severed limbs and one body without his head we don't really know what happened in there or the kill count".

Felix:"wait are you telling me that this guy killed an archbishop alone, look I know wilhelm trained him but he can't do miracles if you are not gonna tell me truth i'm going to have to call crush, are you really gonna make her loss her time in this"

Guard:"you know what I think it's better if I speak with her while you try to find out what's wrong with him" it seems that this talk was going nowhere.

Felix:"What do you mean i know he hurt but any healer can treat wounds like that"

Guard:"no they can't for some reason our healer can't even close the wounds it's just stopped working in him for some reason"

With that being said Felix called wilhelm to guide the knight to crush office.

Felix pov

Subaru was an idiot no doubt about it he could not imagine what kind mess he had caused this time seriously an archbishop that Guard has to be trying to cover himself after attacking subaru for the stupid things that he said in the royal selection and to his credit the incompentense of the Guards was truth those guys were as useless as subaru when it came to figths they were canon folder and didn't like to be reminded of it not that he was ever gonna said it to him but now he had to do damage control again.

A couple of minutes after

OK he could believe this was the work of a psychopath maybe even archbishop subaru wounds were not fatal but that's the problem their where made exclusive to inflict pain and leave him vulnerable its was torture turn into figthing style, he really started to hope that the story that the Guard told him was truth and subaru had killed whoever did this nobody deserved this, it was time to cover his arms, they where black for some reason and had very bad burns how this things keep themself were attach to him was miracle or a curse he started to using his magic in them hoping to achive something but to his horror they stay the same he tried again nothing he used his best medicine to bust the healing effect and yet nothing this had only happen once and Félix still felt shame for that day, he went to find the bandages to at least cover his arms when returned he noticed something weird one of the cuts had dissaper he started inspecting him again only to find that half of the wounds had banish like they weren't there to begin he had to find out make sure it was not what he was thinking why HE was getting healed by the same sickness that killed the royal family.

Wilhelm pov

Again I started feel regret for my actions I had seen the boy that just a couple of days came to me looking for a guide, wound and burned beyond in a bed was it my fault I tried to teach him how to defend himself but apparently I wasn't enough the boy had the bad luck of going against the witch cult for what he heard the Guards that brought him were finishing their report to crush while he went to bring crush a tea for headache that was going to be bring the truth out those guards but for his surprise they were already leaving.

Wilhem:"here your tea and if you don't mind me asking what happen" i said as I put the tea in her desk, lady was just standing next to the window looking to the garden

Crush:"Apparently Subaru found and killed an archbishop from the witch cult" she clearly was still trying to figure out what happened herself .

Wilhem:"with all the respect lady but that has to be lie or maybe those two were insane I knew the strength of the boy and train him and there is no way he could manage that goal I didn't prepare him for that kind of combat" it was my fault while we were training i keep telling him he would never reach julius maybe he was trying to prove something to himself or to the World

Crush:"Are you blaming yourself for his success? Just for you to know his apparent victory was the result of his strategy rather than his combat abilities"

Wilhem:"those guards what they told you was truth" I could not believe what was hearing for someone like subaru to kill archbishop

Crush:"yes i'm afraid so, follow me please i have to talk to him in person if I hope to find out what really happen today Felix must already brought him back to his senses by now"

As we started to walk to the infirmary we met a Young maid with blue hair sitting outside the Door with a look of anguish on her face.

Normal pov

After hearing the explosion rem tried to find out what happen with the people around who told her that a man found a base from the witch cult and single handedly kill all the cultist in the place including a black dragon they were planning to release in Middle of the capital some other people told her that it was boy escaping a base from the cult and used the explosion as an distraction some even said that archbishop was killed in the incident.

Rem rushed to the karsten manor hoping to find subaru finishing his training and smile at her the garden was empty, she went to kitchen maybe he was having a snack again empty, their room empty, the only place left was the infirmary but she found one of the butlers in the door

Butler:"sorry but Felix Sama has requested that they let him work alone he needs his full focus of he wants to heal natsuki san"

Rem:"i have to enter please i need to see him" she said nearly screaming

Before the butler could said something to the worried maid both heard Felix voice

Felix:"REM YOU WILL SEE HIM WHEN I'M FINISH SO STAY THERE AND WAIT"

Rem wanted to break the Door but that could hurt Subaru. She could only wait and hope that everything would be alright.

After an hour both crush and wilhelm arrived and tried to ease rem worries but after that Felix open the Door told them to enter, subaru was still sleep but looked fine if you ignored his arms or his back they were black his hands seemed like claws if this your first time seeing him you would thought that he was a demihuman but apart from that he was as good as he was this morning while they looked at subaru Felix close the Door.

Felix:"ok everybody let's compare notes on what happen to him"

Crush:"the Guards that brought him told me he killed an archbishop with the ability to turn into a dragon, they also said they could not him but it obvious that they hold a grudge on him seeing that you already heal him"

Felix:"i didn't heal him"

Wilhelm:"Felix this Is not a time for your Jokes"

Rem:"subaru was attacked by cult take this seriously" she was starting to get angry with cat boy

Crush:"he telling the truth"

Felix:"yeah I you aren't gonna believe this one either he has the same sickness that killed the royal family or I should said poison but for some reason I can't explain its healing him "

Crush divine protection had been his more reliable tool since she had her memory and yet she could not believe what her knight, her most trusted friend, was telling them even her protection was telling her that was true. Seeing everybody faces of disbelief felix keep going

Felix:"i been looking all notes we had on that and it's a match the only thing that change is apparently that poison it's slowly healing rather than killing him maybe it's part of the ability or subaru has immunity but ran out things that could explain this"

Before they could end their talk a voice said

"i don't know this ceiling"

hey guys here the second chapter i gonna keep updating this 1 or 2 chapters for the week and gonna keep doing in english I know that I have my mistakes in grammar but doing this both to get better at english and give something to favorite community so thanks as always
