Everybody was getting ready to leave the ones that were wounded and the remains of the whale were to be taken to the Capital

Crush:"i understand that feeling but i'm afraid that you have to wait and get in line both Felix and I still have to pay him back but don't worry I intend to keep this alliance you will get a chance to pay him back for now I need you to make sure they arrive safe to the Capital its essential for our deal with Anastasia that she gets the whale's remains"
Wilhelm:"very well I wish you luck my lady"
Subaru who saw this exchange said their goodbyes to Wilhelm and went to talk to crush
Subaru:"are really coming with us don't get me I saw how strong you were against the whale i don't really get why have present"

As they talked subaru saw rem arriving with patrasche
Subaru:"By the way rem should you be going with them I think they could use healer"

Subaru wanted to ease her concerns about his actions in the battle and the misma but he couldn't find a way to do it. The memory of him killing the whale was weird. His mind told him that what he was doing was dangerous and wrong but something inside of him wanted more and it was getting louder as the time passed. At that moment black hands started to erupt from petelgeuse body.

After that petelgeuse was reduced to mess of screams and keep attack as the corruption spread he became more desperate crushing everything that his hand could touch

The claw mark left in petelgeuse chest keep rotting and spreading in his body while desperate petelgeuse tried to summon more hands but in his pain they started losing precision allowing subaru to not only dogge with ease but also see more apertures in his defence seeing his chance landed another cut this time in his arm but this time petelgeuse manege to catch subaru arm seeing his chance petelgeuse tried to send more hands to dismember him but the pain of rot stopped him so he opted to slam subaru against trees. On impact subaru couldn't turn off his rot so when he touched the trees they started to rot making easier to petelgeuse to break them and stab subaru with the rotten wood but when he was about to impale subaru with one of trees an icicle stabbed petelgeuse in his legs dropping him in the ground turned around he saw a giant maze directed to head yep he screw up with the smile still in his face petelgeuse head was crushed by the weapon . With petelgeuse dead rem runned to Subaru who fell in the ground he had branches encrusted all around his body and he was removing them like nothing had happened then he saw rem and smiled.
Subaru:"way to go rem I got a little careless over there but you cover my back pretty good"
As he said that he took the last branch out his body began to heal. Rem hated to see this. subaru told them that the plan was simple stab the archbishop and watch him rot but apparently the amount of damage of subaru rot deppended of much time he was in contact with his enemy allowing the archbishop to fight back and nearly kill him or not they didn't know his limit and that only made it worse because subaru as just showed he didn't care about his own security on this way of thinking he likely is gonna find this limit soon. she wanted to hug him but even that was a danger as Felix told them his blood was toxic and she could get poisoned by it and that would make subaru feel even more like a monster for now she needed to play along she was going to need help to talk this one out him maybe big sister or lady Emilia could make him understand.
Subaru had nearly ended up healing himself by the time they got back with all the others; the only proof that he was wounded were his clothes, which were a mess.
Subaru:"maybe I should start looking for something more resistant I don't wanna have to change myself everytime I fight"
Felix who was just seen us, took a look at me then at rem and proceed to yell at me
Felix:"maybe you should be more careful instead I don't need to be there to know that you were reckless try to put yourself in shoes of others"

Said our hero completely missing what Felix tried to tell him. While mimi and hetaro brought petelgeuse dead body still rotting thanks to subaru the people of alliance grow closer Ricardo Julius crush subaru and rem put body in the middle of them.
Subaru:" well this was easy Capella put more than fight so think we should burn his body so he doesn't get up"

Reaching an agreement they began the preparations to leave and burn the body but then rem gave alert everybody
Rem:"i smell something strong in the forest"
As she made her maze appear and everybody took a fighting stance, subaru saw a lot of hands appearing out of the trees catching everybody but subaru who was able to see them off the forest a witch cultist appeared having the same smile that petelgeuse had.
Petelgeuse:"YOU REALLY THOUGHT MY LOVE WOULD DISAPPEAR THAT EASY"
Subaru:"why there always a gimit with you guys can just die and stay dead well that me sound like hypocrite but still"
Subaru need to free everybody so he did what he did best annoy the heck up of people
Subaru:"so death saw how ugly you were and decided to send you back or satella saw your face and kicked you back here"
Petelgeuse:"DON'T SAY HER NAME IN VAIN"
As petelgeuse leaves everybody to focus on subaru he guides him or her whatever in the forest it locked really familiar then he remembered this place was where the children got kidnapped that gave him an idea it by looking around he was able to see one crystal.
Subaru:'thing really are useful I understand why anastasia was so angry that blew up so many'
With crystal now in his hands he keep making petelgeuse run circles until he saw them then he let himself be catch by the hands
Petelgeuse:"FINALLY YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR PROPER PUNISHMENT FOR ALL YOUR SLOTH"
Subaru:"yeah yeah just one thing. Do you like dogs?".
Petelgeuse:" i me why are you asking that"
As he looked at Subaru very confused , a mabeast jumped on his back and bit his neck, then 4 jumped on him while this happened. Subaru looked at him with a smug face

For the second time that day petelgeuse died. subaru was about to leave but something stopped him while looking at mabeast he felt something his instings made him drop the crystal protecting him the pack mabeast turned around only to have his paws cut off then one by one subaru absorbed them in the last one julius and rem appeared and saw him.
Julius:"Subaru what are you doing? Where is petelgeuse "
Rem:"subaru are you alright"
Subaru didn't even look at them, just took the last mabeast and absorbed it again. His claws began to shine again but the aura instead of the usual grey tone now was purple, then he snapped out of his trance and looked at rem.
Subaru :" i'm just as confused as you are"
While walking back to the group with the new body, Subaru started experimenting with the new aura but it didn't work with anything really, just leave a mark in the body of the cultist that quickly disappeared. Maybe the target needed it to be alive; he decided to test it with another cultist later.
After burning both the bodies of petelgeuse body as a request of subaru they reunite to group hoping to use the empty village as bate to the rest of the cult it was nice to have aventege on them for once but as said before "things never go as planned"
Upon arriving to the village they saw the villagers arguing with merchants and tropes
Villager:"you expect us to believe that"
Villager 2:"we aren't going leave our lives behind just because of the half devil"
Villager 3:"yeah they can take her for all we care"
Subaru was angry but just before he could do anything crush stepp out
Crush:"can you tell me all of you why are still here went there a clear treat of the cult coming to kill you"
Her voice indicated that she was angry of all the setbacks she was expecting this was the most stupid of all them
Villager:"they are after the half devil if we"
Before the man could finish his sentence
Crush:"since when the cult has been known to leave witness what's stopping them to kill all of you so maybe instead blaming the girl that I assume warned all you. Maybe all of you should choose the wise and save your lives"
Now the village started reuniting their things so they can leave
Crush:"subaru we need you to come with us to tell Emilia about the situation and the plan"
Subaru:"i cant I have to do well you know what maybe rem could go with you"
Crush:"you are face the whale and kill it and still you are afraid of seeing the woman you swear to protect"
Subaru:"i well I can but maybe a couple minutes I"
Crush:"don't worry I'm just checking out if you want to be one to speak to her but I see that you are not ready. well go do the thing and take Felix with you I don't think that you should go there alone"

Rem didn't know what to think subaru situación grow worse in a short time the cult definitive did something to him and it was changing or at least trying to he was hoping into the normal subaru and a beast looking for the next meal everybody could see it and yet he acted like nothing happened was he doing it on purpose or he wasn't aware of the change. Rem just wanted to end this and talk to him. Rem was walking with lady crush to the rosewall mansion to speak with Emilia about the evacuation and made alliance

Crush:"the cult it seems this only happens when they around of him maybe this is part of the curse of the archbishop"
Rem:"lady crush believes that rumor"
Crush:"i follow the clues and by all means this only began happen when they appear don't worry I'm not blaming him I seen the real him and intent to help him"
Rem:"lady is really gentle but im sure that lady crush dept has already been paid"

Upon arriving at mansion rem and crush saw ram in Door rem runned at her sister and gave her a hug.

Rem runned to the mansion the fastest she could just wanting this to be over in no time she found the room she didn't even took the time to knock and open the door

Rem knew the feelings that Subaru had for lady Emilia so seeing her blaming herself for his situation will only make Subaru close himself to others. but deep down she knew that if they wanted to save Subaru, Rem had to make a team with Emilia.
Emilia:"it's really that bad"
Rem:"Rem hopes its not"
Normal pov
After arriving to hall crush proceeded to give Emilia a more detailed version of the events that lead to the alliance and the overall plan the path seemed fine so Emilia gave her approval of the conditions of crush and anastasia well half of them she made clear that she to renegotiate subaru debt but that would had to wait until they could talk with Anastasia. With the existence of the sanctuary now known for crush they set that half of the village would go to the sanctuary to keep the debt with Anastasia from growing after that they decided to go to the village to help. rem noticed that during all the explanation puck was listening and he tensed at part when they described subaru change after the battle with lust he knew something.
Meanwhile
Subaru and Félix were looking in carriages of the merchants after all petelgeuse told them about a symbol in a matter of time they found the one and upon inspecting a bag full of crystals was found in that moment they heard outside.
Merchant:"hey if you two are going to do that go to an hotel"
Both subaru and Félix got out of carriage
Subaru:"sorry sir we were just look for a little privacy"
Felix:"yeah is this really yours sir"
Merchand:"yeah so took your horny asses out of here and"
Subaru took the chance to see what his new power actually did so tackle the man to ground put mark on him
Felix:"you know subaru with how weak they are it kinda makes me wonder why they give us so much trouble"

As they talked the merchant was now identified as. A cult member tried use his mana to active the crystals but for so reason he couldn't use it
Felix:"well look at that I think you cursed the son of bitch look at him trying his best to kill himself you really are pity"
Felix inspect the man to find a gospel and a communication metia
Felix:"well we got what we wanted so subaru finish him"
Concentrating a little, Subaru activated the curse and killed the cultist draining all his mana.

Both Subaru and Félix went back to the center of the village to plan the next step with the others; the battle was close to finishing.
